Digital Editions

I am attempting to Erase my Adobe Digital Editions authorization but it says my password is wrong. I originally authorized ADE using OverDrive. Is there any way that this password can be reset?

I'm ready to pull my hair out. I borrowed a book from the libby app a week ago, it was fulfilled through ADE and away I went reading my delightful book. A week later I have now spent HOURS trying to read another book. I have tried downloading three different books from libby, non of them will open. I keep getting an... "Unable to open.... errors encountered in this item" blurb. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled the ADE app many times, I have deleted the device authorizations and restarted again, returned and reborrowed books, deleted and redownloaded book files.....I have tried every solution I can find in the forum posts but all of them are from a few years ago. ADE is apparantly the only way I can transfer a library borrowed Ebook onto my kobo....and it's not working even though it was fine a week ago. Help please! 

   I open Google books as epub with a digital edition, but all the letters are broken. So when I look at the app, it says there's a bug in the digital edition app. They tell me not to use it for a while. Is the app okay? I didn't know I was the only one, so I came to ask.   There was a problem before ㅠㅠNow there's another problem like this. 

Recently Digtal Editions freezes when trying to load an ebook, either a new one or one in my library.This seems to have started after I loaded the Windows 11 Feb 2025 update.The issue got better after I renamed the My Digital Editions folder to My Digital Editions.old - I could see the books in my library. They still don't open.The only way to close Dig editions is to close it in Task Manager. 

I downloaded a book from NetGalley but it just downloads a tiny acsm file. When I try to open the file, Adobe Digital Editions says "Unable to download Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY." I found instructions online that say to deauthorize Adobe Digital Editions (https://community.adobe.com/t5/digital-editions-discussions/quot-error-getting-license-license-server-communication-problem-e-act-not-ready-quot/td-p/7981736)but at step 3 Digitl Editions says "Unable to erase authorization. Please try again after some time."

I get the "Error! Check Activation" error when I try to add a Kobo ebook, URLLink.acsm, to my library. I am told that I must deactivate DE and then reactivate it but I can't because I don't remember my password and can't reset it because the email address is no longer valid. So, how can I change my email address to complete this task to add to my library? Why, oh why, do software companies not provide an easier way to fix such conditions?

Does anyone know of a book publisher that will publish electronic books in PDF format?  I wrote a book in Word and converted it to PDF and now find that Amazon, Barnes&Noble, and most others will only publish in EPUB format.  Epub doesn't work for my nonfiction book because of all the sophisticated formatting I used, such as turning some pages landscape and internal hyperlinks.  PDF handles everything great and is compatible with any electronic devices.  Writing the book was easy compared to selling it.

Is it possible to configure an other folder than MyDocuments to store the ebooks in? I'd like to have the books on a different disk.

Hello, I'm a former customer of adobe products and I'm creating this post to request for linux support on digital editions.I bought an ebook some time ago and I wish to read it on my linux distribution (fedora). I doubt this one post will change anyone's mind but I've given up trying anything else. I don't wish at the moment to buy a windows license, nor buy a mac (I have a Windows machine at a separate location in a different city but I rarely visit it. I already registered my ebook on that machine, not with my ID). As such, I don't have the means to read the book that I payed money for. Please, if it is in any way possible, can someone please create a linux version of this at some point? I'm willing to pay money for it. Please!

I have downloaded Adobe Digital Editions on my MacBook Air, but I can't deauthorize the Adobe ID (it was automatically authorized after the download with my email address). I need to deauthorize it to reauthorize it and see if the books sync with my iPad because my MacBook Air is not loading the books authorized with my Adobe ID.

HelloI have a library of over 300 books. I know I can sort various parameters, but how do I search for a particular book title, or a particular author? There is no search bar from the 'home' screen of ADE. Thanks

It has been said that architects should be forced to live in the buildings they design; likewise, programmers should be forced to use the software they create.  I wonder if anyone at Adobe has actually tried using ADE to read something?  It's infuriating to use.  The fonts are ugly.  The response is slow.  But I'm forced to use this program because my university library now only provides this version as opposed to the simple PDF version I enjoyed before.  Is there any way to export to a PDF so I don't have to use your awful software?

So I did try and deleted the app and downloaded it again. I did accept it on Firewall. I did everything. And still, my ebooks, that I downloaded from an online library won't open. It tries to open them but then it doesn't do anything and I can't even close the program. I am currently using the newest version on a Mac. I never had this problem on a windows. It stays like this forever, it doesn't do anything.

    I purchased these two books from Google and downloaded them to add them to the Digital Editions app.The issue is that when I add these books to the Digital Editions app, some part of the page is deleted.Look at the screenshot, these are the books on Google Books and these are on the Digital Editions app. Is there a solution?

Adobe owes me 270€ for books I have bought. At two times now, my Kobo Ereader has erased all my books when new firmware has been released. The first time it happened was about a year ago when I was traveling without my computer. When I got home I was able to download and transfer them to my Ereader. The second time was today. After download of my books .acsm files from Google books I now get E_GOOGLE_DEVICE_LIMIT_REACHED when I open the files in ADE .I now own a lot of books that I cant transfer to my Ereader. I understand the need for a DRM protection but why do I need authorise books that already has been authorised on both my PC and my Ereader? ADE is a nightmare.

ADE indicates it is authorized on my laptop, but when I try to load an acsm file I get a message that says Error check authorization. I have verified that my date, time and timezone are correct. I have downloaded and installed the newest version of ADE but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas?

Dear Community, I am trying to print pages from my book by selecting a range of pages. While it is working fine for the first pages (e.g a range between page 10 and page 18), it does not work anymore for further pages (e.g. pages starting from 371 to 378).  I am facing an error stating that no pages were selected... I was trying to look for similar issues within the community but was not able to find any answers to my problem. I am running ADE under Mac OS. thanks for your help!

When I try to download an ebook the following message error appears:E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY-OR-PKCS12I have tried to erase authorization of my device but I didn't succeed. A message appears telling that is not possible at that moment and suggesting to try later.I'm using Windows 10.Thank you very much

Hi,I have been having problems with my pc lately and lost all my documents on it. After importing the data from a previous backup I now can't open the epub files from the backup. It says the document is licensed to a different user account. I dont know if I had another user account previously - is there some way to check to what account the epub files are licenced to? Or is there something else I can do to be able to open these files again? I have several bought ebook that I would like to be able to read again. Cecilia

Ich habe mir heute zum ersten mal e bücher gekauft und wurde von dem verlag direkt auf dieses program verwiesen es öffnet die bücher allerdings nicht es kommt nur die folgende angehangene fehler meldung  würde mich über rück meldung freuen 

Ich habe eine ursprüngliche Adobe-Id vergessen und die E-Mail Adresse existiert nicht mehr.Daneben habe ich eine weitere, später eingericchtete und auch funktionierende IDWie kann ich mich wieder anmelden bzw. diese ID mit einer aktuell gültigen ID verknüpfen?Vielen Dank

all of the sudden I can't open my books downloaded and stored in the app on my ipad! It worked fine yesterday. I have tried to reset app and ipad, but when i tap the books nothing happens! Pleas help! Have deadline to meet today and need access to these books!

When I download a book from my public library I can open it in digital editions 4.5 but when I transfer it to my device (kobo) and try to open it on the kobo it says "This book is protected by DRM. Because you previously deauthorized your eReader, you need to re-import the book using Adobe Digital Editions." I tried erasing authorization and setting git up again but it still won't work. Erased and downloaded a new edition of ADE, that didn't work either. Tried different books and libraries but still have problem. Called kobo and after troubleshooting with them they say it as ADE problem. Please please please help! Thank you!
