When I connect my ipad to my pc and bring up ADE, it does not show the ipad as a device. So, I cannot transfer books to it.

I have been trying to open some books in the ADE bookshelf and frequently unsuccessful with the following message:1) Unable to open Getting Started with Adobe Digital Edition 4.5 T- The original documents file is missing2) Activation Server error - code _E-ACT_NOT_READYThe above only occurred when I tried opening some book. Some books I do not experienced the above problem.Can some one help? Please

Continually receiving error "Unable to download: error getting license - license server communication problem - e_adept_unknown

I'm a member of NetGalley, where you receive books in exchange for a review. Many publishers use protected PDFs - and so, I've always opened with Adobe Digital Editions. I've never had a problem until the past week. Now, I receive the above error no matter what book I'm trying to download (I've tried a few to make sure it's not just the one file).I've tried this and had the same results on: Windows 10, Macbook Air with Mojave, and an iPhone using the app.I've tried reauthorizing my computers and deleting the old authorization. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the programs and apps. I've tried all the fixes on the different forums. I've tried under a different Adobe ID. Nothing works, and I mean NOTHING. It's so frustrating. I've contacted NetGalley, but wonder if this is an issue anyone else is having?

Adobe Digital Editions quitting unexpectedly

Adobe Digital Editions is quitting whenever i connect my Kobo eReader to my Mac computer. This problem only commenced recently. (I have had no problem previously.) My Kobo Aura H20 software is up to date. ADE on my computer was version 4.4.7 when the problem commenced. I downloaded ADE again in case it was not the most current version, and the version that downloaded is 4.5.10). But the problem continues. I have tried closing and restarting the computer and reversing the order in which I plug in the Kobo reader and open ADE. But ADE continues to quit. My computer is Mac OS Sierra. Can anyone please help, or even identify if the problem is caused by ADE or my eBook reader?

Adobe Digital Editions crashes when I access my Nook

I have been using Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 to put library books onto my Nook, however recently whenever I go to put books on my nook the ADE program crashes. It will even crash when I just try to look at the files on my Nook from ADE. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, using ADE 3.0, restarting my computer as well as restarting my Nook. I haven't tried resetting my Nook as I was hoping there might be something else I could do.

J'essaie depuis 4 jours de télécharger des livres achetés sur Rakuten Kobo. Je n'avais jamais eu de problème jusqu'à aujourd'hui  pour effectuer cette opération. Impossible de télécharger, "Erreur lors de l'obtention de la licence ; problème de communication avec le serveur des licences". J'ai tout essayé, supprimer, redemander une licence, changé de version ADE (de 4.5 à 3.0) rien n'y fait.Quelqu'un peut il m'aider ? c'est désespérant et ça commence à faire long... Merci !

J'utilise Adobe digital Editions pour transférer mes livres *.epub ou *.acsm depuis des années. Je viens de changer de PC Hp en Windows 10. Adobe m'a demandé de compléter mes identifiants, ce qui a été fait correctement. Depuis 2 jours, chaque fois que je tente d'activer ADE, je reste bloquée avec le sigle et "Chargement de la bibliothèque...". J'ai supposé qu'il récupérait mes e-book, mais cela commence à faire long 8 Merci de votre aide.

Downloaded book won't open on Nook Glowlight

I can open it in ADE to read on my computer but - although it shows up on my Nook, when i click on it, i am asked for Adobe ID and password.  I put that in and it still goes right back to asking for ID and PW.  I have verified Password word with Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), have deauthorized and reauthorized device, and still can't get beyond the request for ID and password

Hi, I'm trying to open an ebook but Adobe Digital Editions won't authorize my computer. I keep getting an activation error message. I also deleted the activation file (.dat) because that's the advice from adobe forums. Still, it did not work.I also tried to follow this: Error "E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY" | Digital Editions | Mac OS X But as you can see, it didn't work:I still could not get authorization because I already have "allow all applications to access this item" (in my key chain) already selected, so I really can't do anything else. I don't know who else to ask. Seems like I can no longer use Adobe Digital Editions.This forum is my only hope because both twitter customer service and customer service on this website can't help me.I even deleted it and downloaded both the old and new versions.Needless to say, I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions at least 5x. I hope anyone out there can help me.Thanks

I KNOW THIS QUESTION HAS BEEN ASKED BEFORE (5 YEARS AGO?) BUT NO ANSWER DID COME. i AM ASKED TO AUTHORIZE SO THAT I CAN TRANSFER DRM PROTECTED FILES BETWEEN MY COMPUTERS AND OTHER DEVICES, AND THE ERROR MESSAGE SAYS THAT I CANNOT USE THE SAME ADOBE ID ON THE SECOND COMPUTER? WTF????

ADE crashes when parsing web response, possibly related to authorization?

I have been using this account for authorizing eBook readers, but I also used several computers and operating systems, so I may have used up more authorizations, and also tried to de-authorize the latter when upgrading the machine to keep the number of devices small.However, one of the two eBook readers is not authorized anymore, and I can't authorize it. (I don't care about the computers – I only read books on the readers – but at least one computer apparently needs to be authorized in order to put eBooks on a device.)Adobe Digital Editions now crashes when I try to authorize the reader, and the stack trace indicates that it may get an unexpected reply from some web server, so I thought it could help to reset/clear the devices connected with my Adobe ID.I read in many places that one could ask Adobe for completely erasing all devices associated with my account via the chat system, but the two people I reached there eventually referred me to forum.

Adobe Digital Editions crashes when I connect my eReader

I installed Adobe Digital Editions, and ADE works normally. Myr computer is authorized with my Adobe ID. I can navigate the whole menu, the options. Everything is fine.I use Window 10, 64-bit, 8Gb RAM, Inter Core i7-2600.When I connect my eReader brand Kobo Aura Edition 2, it appears on the Shelves, but immediately ADE hangs up.The Kobo storage unit works properly, I passed the review tool, no errors. I connected it to a laptop running Windows 7, 32-bit, with ADE and it works properly.I have checked the Firewall, I have even disabled it, and also the Anti-virus, but it also does not work.I don't know what to do.I'm waiting for some help.Thank you.Hola,He instalado, y funciona normalmente, Adobe Digital Editions. ADE seems to be incompatible with Apple devices such as iPads and iPhones. Am I right?

I've just signed up to my local library in London, UK, which operates an e-book "lending" service.Unfortunately they have chosen as their partner Adobe Digital Editions, which appears not to work with most of the popular systems, e.g. Kindle, iBooks etc.Should I waste more time trying to transfer the books I've managed to download to my Macbook across to my iPad (the sign-up process alone was a massive faff !), or just give up?

Corporate firewall blocks connection to fulfillment server - what port needs to be opened?

Hi,When users in our network try to open a downloaded .acsm-file they get an error message saying "connection error detected digital editions could not connect to the fulfillment server".If you take the same computer outside our network you are able to open the file and the book is activated.What ports on what IP addresses do we need to open to make this work in our corporate network?Best regards,Erik

HP computer will not open Digital Editions Version 4.5

I am using Digital Editions to read a textbook for a class and it has been working fine up until this point.  Then the other day, my computer did an automatic update and now Digital Editions will not open which is very bad because I cannot complete the class without the book.  It looks like something is about to load after I click the icon, but then nothing opens.  Does anyone know how to fix my problem?Thanks,Trent

I am using ADE and want to download ebooks through overdrive.  I continually get an error my computer is not authorized for the vendor ID.  When I put in my login information it states that vendor account is not associated with the item I am trying to open and tells me to try again.  How do I correct this?

Ebook wont open on ereader bc it says I deauthorized the device but I didn't!

Where can I find a  safe download of adobe digital edition 3.0  for a MAC?I have uploaded adobe digital editions 4.0. I Have the library ebook showing in the library view. Then I uploaded it to my e-reader, I can see it on  my e-reader but it won't open. A message tells me I am not authorized to use Digital Editions because I deauthorized my e-reader. But I didn't. I have redone the whole process (uninstalled app etc... ) and still get that message. Called Kobo and they told me to download ADE 3.0 or 2.0. Can't find any safe place to download it from? Kobo sent me to Adobe. Very frustrating since  Adobe has no helpline for this. HELP!!!

My Adobe Digital Editions DRM PDF eBook reads fine BUT why can't I read in Acrobat using the same Adobe ID?

I bought an eBook, came as ascm.file, viewed as DRM PDF in Adobe Digital Editions. I can view the eBook fine in ADE but it's useless as far as efficiently & effectively reading & note-taking using the PDF. Thus, I want to open the PDF in Acrobat which is a million times better. My Adobe ID used for ADE is the same I use for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (which I pay for). Why can't I view the PDF in Acrobat? I receive an error message stating "There was an error opening this document. The security plug-in required by this command is unavailable."

Moving Rejected photos

At my home desktop, when I reject photos with an x, I then use the "Create new folder within the (Name) folder" option by right-clicking. The rejected files are moved to that new folder labeled, "Rejects." So if I originally have a folder of 60 images and reject 10, then I will have 50 good images in the parent and ten in the "Reject" folder. Perfect. Version 8.3.1I'm teaching a class now and when demonstrating this technique, the rejected files are copied, (not moved) to the "Rejects" folder and also stay inside the parent folder. So I now see the 60 original files in the parent folder plus a child folder with the ten rejects. When I check my Finder, there are in fact duplicate files inside the "Rejects" folder.It's happening on my teacher station and the student work stations.Any advice wou8ld be appreciated.Thank you.Mihael Stern
