Adobe Digital Reader -- I can't deauthorize an old defunct email address (with a lost password) and this is blocking downloading or reading all new book purchases.  Do you know how to deauthorize ore get rid of that old account?

Adobe Digital Editions is presently not allowing me to access a book I have checked out of a local library. When investigating the issue it seems that I need to authorize my account, however, Digital Editions is already authorized to an account under an old e-mail that I no longer have access to (systemchalk@shaw.ca). When inquiring about the issue I was advised that there is no systemchalk@shaw.ca account. When attempting to erase the authorization for the @10982627.ca account, it requests a password which is being declined (either due to the account not existing or me not knowing the password and not being able to reset it due to no longer having access to the address).I would like to enable Digital Editions to use this, the appropriate Adobe account. A secondary concern would be the removal of the old account and/or its consolidation into the e-mail address I have proper access to.

Hi,I changed my Adobe ID recently after I was informed that the data have been stolen somehow. I changed email and password.A few weeks later now, I had to perform a reset of my ebook reader. In order to get it work I have to run a set-up procedure which asks me to log-in with my Adobe ID. I tried but it would not work with the new log-in data.Now I checked Adobe Digital Editions (ADE 4.0.5.) version on my PC which indicates that the old log-in data are still valid. However, the program does not allow to change it. There is a drop down menu which exclusively shows the old email adress on top and below an empty field for entering the password. I have no option to change the upper field. If I try to use the little arrow next to my old email adress nothing happens.I talked to the hotline of Adobe. They told me to deinstall ADE 4.0.5. and download ADE 3 again. I did but it has not changed anything.Any idea?Thank you very much for any help.

There many problems with ver. 4.5.10.185749 for windows7, but my questions here go unanswered and my library's support is likewise limited to what can be had on this forum.Newer book releases, if they have images, cannot be viewed. For example, the very top of an image can be seen at the bottom of a page. It is not on the following page. The only way to sort of see it is to "grab" it and drag it up. A "ghost" of the image can be seen over the text on the page.After a few word searches, one is unable to copy anything else.This program needs some TLC. It would be wonderful if one could purchase a version with more features and the ability to properly display images.

Hi, I just tried iOS App ver. 4..5.10 with my iPhone iOS 12.2.I find that crash happens with searching when I put any EN word(s) in searching box and tap Search button.exception: I also find it works when searching with one JP letter, that would respond "too short" message. (crash can be seen with two or more letters)I hope it would be solved.Thanks in anyhow I can read lots of e-books

Hello, I have received this message a number of times now:I borrowed an e-book from my local library and was unable to open it in ADEI have recently purchased an e-book; I can download it to Overdrive on my Android devices but wanted to transfer it to my reader - unable to open the book in ADEThe complete error message reads:Unable to downloadError getting license. I work in a library and have an elderly reader with a problem i haven't come across before. He has connected his KoboeReader and acknowledged the connection on the device (screen shows connected and charging), but it is not showing on ADE under the Devices menu. Originally, he had version 4.5.7 and has since updated to 4.5.10 with the connected device still not showing.He has used the Kobo and ADE without problems for a long time.Any advise?

I am using a Mac and have an iPhone and amnestying iPad.  I am unable to authorize my computer so that I can use which  ever device that I need to use.  I downloaded several books from Google. b When I try to authorize my computer I put I have tried to authorize like thisebook vendor: Google Email addressPassword.  I have also triedEbook vendor ;AdobeEmail address PasswordI have a valid Google password and can sign in with it and also a valid adobe password and  an sign in with it but I get this message "incorrect logon id or password  for the selected ebook vendor. please try again"What other password might be requiredthanks Dan

I am unable to download a book from google play. I can download the acsm file but when I try opening it in adbove digital editions I get the following error:"Unable to download.Error getting license. license server communication problem:E_GOOGLE_DEVICE_LIMIT_REACHED"I am able to download some other books so it is not a general problem with my computer or device. It seems to be related specifically to some books which I am trying to download. I was unable to find a way of contacting google play directly and cannot find a "create discussion" button on the google forum.

When I try to add a book from itunes library, I get the error message "adobe digital editions 4 has stopped working"I have uninstalled and re-installed and still get the error.Please advise how to correct this?

Using Adobe Digital Editions on a Mac. When I try to authorize my computer ADE says I can't use an account that has previously authorized another computer. This is clearly some poor translation built into the software. I mean, are accounts meant to be disposible? What is the real error and how do I fix it?

I have downloaded library books to ADE then to my KOBO for years.  Now when I try to open them in my ereader, it says I don't have authorization.  I de-authorized my e-reader with ADE then re-authorized it.  Now it says to re-import the book.  I did, and it still says that. No one seems to help.  I have tried KOBO and Adobe to no avail. It has been almost a week and I am getting really frustrated.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

I purchased and downloaded an e-textbook a couple of weeks ago, and when I opened the Digital Editions App today the e-text was not in there. Can you please assist?

HI, seem to be having no luck access purchased files via iPhone XS using the Digital editions app. Can access on the main computer and both iPhone and Computer use the same Adobe ID.The files do not appear in the libraries the only thing I get is the Adobe getting started book.If I browse to my cloud folder to then open the file on my iPhone using the Digital Editions app I get this error: E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USERAdobe seems to be shying away from this, anyone having similar issues or know a fix/workaround?Many thanks[Here is the list of all Adobe forums... https://forums.adobe.com/welcome][Comments is to ask about the operation of the Forum, not a specific program][Moved from the Comments forum to the specific Program forum... How Do I Download a Checked-out Library Book in Adobe Digital Edition 4.5 Already Installed on My Computer?

I have been using ADE with my KOBO ereader since August. Suddenly, about three weeks ago, it stopped being able to download books from my library. And I get this message.I have searched and found it is a common problem. Solutions suggested include:Use version three - same problemGo into the keychain access and change the access - same problemDrag out the .dat file - same problem.Please, is there a definitive resolution? At the moment, thanks to ADE, I have a very expensive paperweight.

After downloading the .acsm file, I try to open it in Adobe Digital Editions but I get this error "E_LIC_LICENSE_SIGN_ERROR".Any suggestion to fix this?

I have a Glowtouch 3 and it's been mostly fine since Jan with a few glitches.  Now I'm having almost the same problem like I did with my old SimpleTouch.  I can transfer library books to the Nook icon in ADE, but when I click on the Nook to see what's available or manage the library, ADE either shows NO content and/or closes itself.  I have tried reinstalling ADE and checked for updates on my Nook (none).  I can still open and read books on my Nook, but without the ability to manage anything, it's going to get messy fast.  Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a new computer and installed Adobe Digital Editions 4.5. the library shows only a small proportion (9 Books) of the books that I I downloaded onto the previous Adobe Digital editionsHow do I get the rest of my books onto the current library?

I have had to purchase a new computer. On my old desk top I was using Digital Editions 3.0 to open books from my public library. This permitted me to download them onto my KOBO reader. Now, as 3.0 is not used any more, I have had to download 4.5. When I download books from my library, they will not go into the 4.5 edition because it is not authorized. Yet, when I try to authorize it it comes back and tells me the computer is already authorized. I am getting nowhere. I have contacted Adobe and they have told me to put the question out here and somebody would contact me. Can anybody please help me out here.
