To whom it may concern (Thank you by the way for reading this):Every time I try to open up an ebook, I get the message "Unable to open XXX" and giving an explanation of "No record of this loan is found on this machine, it may have been returned." What can I do to open up my ebooks?I borrow books from EBSCOhost which is a ebook library service provided by EBSCO for my college. I am allowed to download ebooks so that I don't have to be connected to the internet all the time; however, the links expire every two days. It is annoying, but I download the ebook every two days as the link expires. recently, I have been getting the message "Unable to open XXX" and giving an explanation of "No record of this loan is found on this machine, it may have been returned." I have tried re-downloading/borrowing from EBSCOhost a new loan of the book (and it allows me to do so), but once I download it into the Adobe Digital Editions and try to read it, it gives me the same message. Does anyone know why the Adobe Digital Editions won't recognize my old ereader when I connect it to the computer? My ereader is so old that it's not compatible with Kobo (bought out Sony) so the Kobo staff suggested I could use Abode to transfer items I buy through Kobo to my ereader. The tech said I need to "authorize my device" but when I connect it, nothing happens. Thank you

I am trying to install Adobe Digital Edition 4.5.8.  It keep crashing part way through the install.  The little screen says that it is at the step where it is "Extract SymCCIS.dll"  It always dies at the same spot.

When I am opening one of my pdfs I get an error:"Unable to open [document name] Errors were encountered in this itemfile:///[path to the document].epub"From what I've seen from the forums it's a pretty popular error and there is absolutely no functioning and proper solution to that. Has anything changed? Can anyone provide a good solution to the problem? I can open two of my pdfs, but other two get that error. On the other side I can open all of my pdfs just fine on the other computer, where I am using the same version of Digital Editions. So what is wrong?

Hello, I just got a free book through the First to Read program via Penguin Random House. On their site it says to use the First to Read option in the vendor list but it's not showing up as an option for me.What eBook vender should I use and do I use my Penguin account to log in? Or do I need to make a separate account to get in? I've never used this program before and, from other things I have read, don't want to risk losing access to read this eBook.Thanks.

I am trying to open an .ascm file I downloaded from a public library.I download the file, open up digital editions, try and open the file with my authorized version of digital editions and I get this error:Any help out there?

Hi.  I recently downloaded ADE 4.5.2 but it isn't working properly with my old Nook.  I had the old version of ADE before and it worked fine with my Nook and I'm getting fed up with the errors not allowing me to read ebooks I check out from the library on my nook.  I want to try downloading ADE 3.0 since that seemed to work fine but I can't find a link to download it.  The link for 3.0 on the digital editions website just goes to a list of all the Adobe products and doesn't seem to include ADE 3.0 anyway.  Please help!   Where can I get 3.0 back? 

I am using Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 and I wanted to try out the highlight feature. But now I can't un-highlight that text! Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

This morning I tried to open digital editions on my Mac Book to read some pro tools course books (which I was looking at two weeks ago) and I have received an error message.  I looked through the forums and found some advice to unauthorize my mac and uninstall. Then re-install, re-authorize and redownload the books.  However, I am getting the same message every-time I try to re-authorize. An Error Had Been Detected. Activation Server Error - code E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEYDigital Editions encounter an error on the activation server.To retry, click the Try Again button.I have digital editions on my iPhone and I can access the books just fine on there... Any ideas?

Hello! I bolded the important parts below and highlighted my questions. I downloaded a document on my computer and opened it with ADE. I tried to open the same doc on my phone (which required the app bluefire). Bluefire comes up with this message when I try to open the ebook: I contacted Adobe and Bluefire and was directed here ultimately. I think Bluefire's response sums it all up well (I bolded the part I think is my issue. Hello everyone, I bought a book ( on thieme) and had to download it with Adobe Digital Editions.... the book is available in the app only.. but I need it in my iBooks library so that I  can use it with my Apple Pencil and keep all my books together in one place .. .can anybody help me out ? Tanks

Hi there,I have tried the solutions listed for this error code, but to no avail.The one solution is to double-check the account and the second is to ask the store for a new token.I have double checked the account and I am using the correct one and I asked the store and they will not provide me with a new token.I am out of options and this ebook is actually an academic textbook that I urgently need to complete university assignments. And to also make matter worse was that it was very expensive.Please is there any other options that can help me, or can someone connect to my computer remotely?Any help would be much appreciated, I am desperate.

Can't open adobe to get my e-books that I have purchased

I'm having an issue opening a text book in the library.  A message pops up that says "Client certificate used with Digital Editions is invalid. You will not be able to use all the features available in this application!" and i dont know how to fix it!

Hello,I bought a Kobo Aura edition 2 e-reader. I downloaded Adobe Digital editions and authorized it with my pc.When I connect the ereader to my pc, this works fine. Only ADE can not find my ereader and does not show it under 'devices/apparaten'.Like this I can not authorize ADE to my ereader.  I searched for topics on this forum and online, but no response seems to help. This is quite frustrating since I wont be able to use my ereader for PDF's or other important channels to read ebooks.Could you please help me out with this problem?Thank you already a lot in advance!Best regards, Milou

Ik heb zo'n 4 weken geleden boeken op mijn nieuwe ereader geplaatst via ADE Kobo H2O. Het zijn boeken die ik via Libris heb gekocht in het Nederlands. Alles werkte perfect. Ook boeken die ik bij de bibliotheek geleend heb, konden erop. Maar nu, een paar weken later, kan ik mijn boeken opeens niet meer openen. Hij zegt dat ik niet geautoriseerd ben en dat de ereader ook niet geautoriseerd is. Heel vreemd. Na het meerdere keren deinstalleren van ADE en weer opnieuw installeren van DE 4.5 en 3, en de instructies te volgen, heb ik de ereader maar teruggezet naar de fabrieksinstellingen. Ook dan krijg ik de boeken er niet op. Alleen de boeken die ik vanuit de Koboapp gekocht heb, staan erop. Hij wilde de ereader ook opeens niet meer autoriseren. Bij het autoriseren krijg ik een foutmelding dat ik teveel activaties heb lopen. Via de Adobe site, moet ik dan contact met jullie opnemen zodat jullie dit account kunnen resetten. Ik zie alleen deze mogelijkheid, want ik zie geen telefoonnummer waa

Under "Compatible with Apple Retina Display" it says "Windows®7 (32 or 64 bit running in 32-bit mode)".Is ADE available for Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10?Does Windows 7 64-bit version have to set to 32-bit mode specially for ADE?
