I just discovered that the best parts of Adobe's 3D suite iare NOT included in professional Apps Subscription... the I'm spending $54 a month ($648 a year) for the use of Illustrator and Photoshop, neither of which have had any material updates (at least not that I appreciate or that affect my workflow). I might use AfterEffects three times a year to build a basic Lottie animation... Now I take a look at 3D software, and all the interesting 3D components are AN ADDITIONAL $48 a month... If there was a way to build a viable alternative to Illustrator and PhotoShop - I'm thinking even though I have used this software since genesis (mid 1980's) I would switch. The alternative just has to open and edit Illustrator files and be a very good photo editor. Is it just me or does it seem that Adobe is a terrible company, run by a money-grubbing cabal of dirty corporate sand-baggers?
I'm mocking up some product models using some custom models provided by our third party printers, and most of the time, the files seem to have trouble. I'm applying shrink-wrap labels, which have been mapped onto the model by our print service. Sometimes, when trying to render or preview the render, the object shows fully white with my applied label barely even visible. Sometimes, throwing a standard model plane (or several) into the scene allows the file to re-load and will show the label. I don't know what that's about, but throwing in standard models so far has let me continue to work around that. I'm also having trouble with a strange grey or pixelation coating the models. It's visible only in the render preview and the render. If I turn off render preview, the models look fine. (I only mention this because when the model turns almost fully white, that is visible whether render preview is turned on or not.) This is the issue I haven't been able to get around. I've b
Hi, new in to the Adobe world. I work with creating shelfs in carbord for food shops. When i have put in my 3D shelf in dimension, i want to create products (for example bottles) to show the customer how it could look like in reality. But when i have create around (lets say) 30 bottle its starts to get to heavy to move around the objects and at the end i want maybe 100 bottles, but it will almost crash before that.Is there any way to produce the objects (bottles) in a smaller size? Or any other ideas how i can create this bottles Im working on a iMac(Retina 5k, 27 tum, 2020)Processor - 3,8 Ghz 8-core Intel core i7Memory 128 GB 2667 Mhz DDR4Grafic AMD Radeon Pro 5300 4 GB Adobe Dimension - Version 3.4.5
Hi, I've been designing some stuff in Dimensions and I am finding that every shape created after a certain distance, from the start point, stops moving and goes back to its original starting position. Has this happened to anyone? if can you help me fix it?
As stated, my illustrator files and being splitdisappearing once uploading as OBJ's into Dimension. I think this is some sort of issue with my settings on my iMac illustrator/dimension because this does not happen whern I am on my Macbook. This issue also happens when I create my own text shapes. Once I upload into Dimension, the seperate letters in the text separate.TIA!
Hi All- What causes the "Roughness" to be grayed out? Is there a way the release the control?
Either allow us to subtract objects or import vector files.I need to be able to create simple objects like rooms with windows and doors, so I look forward to an upgrade soon, please
i have a simple bottle, basically a cylinder ... and i'm applying a simple, rectangular label to it ... i'd like to hide the cylinder and keep the shape of the label when i export it so i can photoshop the label onto a photograph of a real world bottle. how can i do this? i did find some older posts about this, but none of them answered the question and i'm hoping somebody has an a more updated solution.
Hello Dimension community,I am having a problem placing a graphic on a cylinder jar powder. The front image looks great. The sides look corrupt at the end of the label. (see attached)If you have a solution, it would help me tremendously.Thank you in advance! https://www.dropbox.com/s/nzpcv4mhbd00dvf/Powder%20Jars%20test.dn?dl=0
Hi everyone,I'm working on a packaging rendering that is a take away box with a wrap around label. I have the lable artwork designed with specific dimentions, but the artwork is for a slighly wider label than in the 3D model I downloaded from Adobe Stock. I have changed the width of the label in Dimension, but when I generate the UV for the label, it doesn't reflect the changes I made (sorry, i'm new to UVs so not fully sure what's possible and what's not). I seems that changing the width only stretches the artwork (which is cropped as it is too wide to fit on the UV) rather than expands the actual label width. How can I adjust the wrap around label size to the dimesions I need and then have the UV reflect that so I can place the correct artwork? Thanks in advance 🙂
Hello there,I´m facing a problem with my models. This is a tent with sidewalls. (screenshot)Now I need to cut windows into this sidewall. We don´t work with modelling software. Is there any chance to do this with dimension or substance or any other app in CC?Thank you for help.Rgds Hans
Line artifacts on final renders of models due to a lighting issue in Adobe Dimension. Please fix.
This is difficult to express but here goes... This is what I want to achieve: I am involved in a project to bring to life the streescape of 1950s Britain. I want to be able to create a network of roads, populate them with 3D-modelled components such as houses, trees, hedges, pavements and street lighting, road signs, utility poles etc and then be able, on the computer to travel along the road network and see from the ground what I have created - almost as a video car journey or a video walk. Is/Are there [an] Adobe application/s (or any application if not an Adobe one) that will enable me to do this. I model my components in Sketchup and have had some experience in bringing them into Photshop as 3D objects but the technology is very clunky in many ways and I believe that Photoshop is withdrawing its 3D functionality anyway. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Regards. Andrew
Hello, I have a technical problem with importing a 3D object from Illustrator to Dimension. It is specifically related to the work with the materials as they stretch and turn into weird shapes when I want to apply them to my own 3D model (a basic bottle). What can I do? I will attach screenshots here for clarity. (The arch with the normal looking material is a default Dimension object and the bottle is my imported model from Illustrator) (I tried importing from Photoshop and have the same issue.)Thank you in advance! 🙂
Hello Everyone, I am a seasoned user of Adobe products but new to Dimension. I have received an STL file from my modeler but now he has gone MIA. However, I was able to open the STL file in Dimension but the big problem is that the surface shows edges. I am figuring that he created a low poly count model. Is there an option or setting that I have not found yet to make the surface appear smooth? I have circled the area to reference the area that is not smoothed out. Thanks!
Any advice on how to create a 3D box with graphics on then animate it rotating?have managed to create a box but not sure how i make it rotate and capture as a movie. Is Dimension the best option to create this or is there a more suitable Adobe software?
Hi there,I'm looking to do something that used to be very simple in Photoshop but now that they've discontinued the 3D tools, I can't figure out how to do it. I want to create a 3D perspective out of a photograph of a bedroom. Ultimately I'd like to take another photo and map it onto the walls/ceiling/floor of that room to make that image feel like it's covering the planes of the initial room. In Photoshop I would have used Vanishing Point to create the perspective and then just cut and paste the image into it to map it onto the planes but that's not working. Is there a way to do this in Dimension? Or Stager? Can't figure it out.
Hello,Is there any option to export environment light image that is generated from flat image (using create environment light)?Thank you

If I were to buy a laptop with an Ryzen 6800HS and 24/32GB RAM.... Would that run Adobe Dimensions smoothly? PS: If you have experience with running CAD or other Adobe Apps on ryzen 6000, please share your thoughts. I'm still considering a discrete gpu (rtx 3050 mobile).
I created a work using Adobe Dimension. When I saved it to my system, it was about 2.6gb in size. My computer system seems to be powerful. When I tried to open it, it doesnt open. It sometimes open with all the object name showing but when I click in the view I see nothing. I dont know what to do. Please help. I could send the file over to anyone that wants to check.
Hi, the SBSAR materials downloaded from Adobe Substance don't include the bumpiness. See how on a sphere in Substance the bumps affect the sphere shape and give it an extra dimension and shape, but in Dimension, the sphere is still just a sphere. And when it's rendered out, it doesn't include the bumps. How do I include the bumps? Thanks,
Hi, I have a 3D PDF of my product. It is an awkward shape carton. I know there are versions of this carton that you can apply artwork to in Dimensions, so I assume this is the best option. I am hoping I can basically turn this PDF file in a Dimensions file so I can apply artwork to the surface in place of the existing artwork I have on it with a simple drag and drop approach. Alternatively, if someone knows a way I can do this directly with the 3D PDF that'd be great too. Photoshop is not a good option due to angled surfaces connecting to the sides that means to continuity of my artwork is bad (and outside my skillset). Thanks so much in advance,B
Hello dear members of the community. I work as a technical editor and create assembly instructions with InDesign. In these instructions I use images that I generate from data provided by my colleagues. My colleagues work with Inventor / Auto-Desk. In the WINDOWS_world I published files with Jt2go. A 3D viewer, so to speak, in which I had rotated the position of the component. if it fits and then I created a picture which I built into the instructions. Now the Jt2go doesn't work on the Mac. And I'm looking for a program where I can rotate viewer files of my colleagues and create images again. However, I am not a 3D designer. Can you recommend me something? Many thanks for the help.
The objects I placed on colored background always drop soft grey shadow instead of black shadow. It happens on preview mode and when I render. Anyway, it looks normal in white bg. Thank you in advance
