I am experiencing a similar situation. I have an imagemap in which I want to open 5 different modals. Until now I could only manage to open the same modal on several areas. How can I connect a new modal to another area in the image?Can somebody help me here?

Importing Settings into Mojave OS (Mac)

I just upgraded my Mac to Mojave. I did a clean install, then reinstalled Dreamweaver via the Creative Suite downloader.My original files are backed up on an external hard drive. How can I access the settings in that drive and import them into my new internal hard drive? By settings, I mean the various website configurations - names, locations, online passwords, etc.Thank you.

Anchor tags not working in some versions of Chrome

Hey all,It was brought to my attention that anchor links have issues in certain versions of Chrome. I have your standard setup. Does anyone know a workaround? Files listed in reverse alphabetical order

I've already found this topic in older posts.  But the advice doesn't work.I'm using DW CS6.  All of a sudden, the files listed in the files panel go fro z to a.  I did nothing that should have caused this.   And, I can't find any way to change it back to where the files go from a to z.I have tried clicking the icon to show local and remote files like was suggested.  All the files were in correct order, but as soo as I closed that view, the files in the file panel were still reversed.  Any other ideas?

CSS Menu without images [Branched from Validator Errors and the Fix]

CSS Menu without imagesSimple to edit, no complex scripts or image swap behaviors, less code, easily indexed by search engines, translators and screen readers.I am rebuilding my web site from ground up. Starting fresh. I will be using this code to begin. What I want to achieve is to create a working template using this index.html page. In design view ( Dreamweaver CS6) I do not see 'css menu' in a css styles folder. There is no css styles, no css styles folder. I do not know what I should do. In code view I see this css menu as a <style>.Should I simply create an external css style sheet as a starting point in developing index.html as a template?If I can be given a push in the best direction I should be able to move forward with rebuilding the web site. I have content - that needs to be brought into clean pages.Thanks for any advice!

Placement of Index File

I've uploaded my local files to the remote server.  However, I can't get the site to appear in search engines.  In Google Chrome it doesn't show at all; in Bing it shows a list of the files.  I think my index file is not in the right place in the remote files, but I don't know where it's supposed to go.  Does it need to go right below the public_html at the top, or where?  I know the site works as I had it up in the past, then took the remote files down.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Jim

Back button and Top of page conflict error in code

I've got a problem with a back button and a GOTO TOP of page button.From test.html I click on a link to open test2.html* When I scroll down to the bottom of the page of test2.html and click on the' TOP' button link it goes to the top of the page which is fine* BUT when you click on the 'BACK' button which part of a nav bar it goes to the bottom of the page instead.* If I scroll up, the page and then click the BACK button it then goes to the previous page ie test.htmlNot sure how to get around this as I need both a back button and link to go to top of page ??Hope you can helpTim(I have just attached the second-page test2.html code below and not the page it goes back to which in the code goes back to test.html)--------------------<!doctype html><html lang="zxx"><head><meta charset="UTF-8"><meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"> <title>Untitled Document</title>!--Nav Bar Start--><a id="search-target"></a&

Bonjour,J'ai Dreamweaver 19.1 sous Windows 10.Depuis quelques jours, sur n'importe quel site, j'ai Dreamweaver qui se bloque (il utilise toutes les ressources du processeur), message "ne répond pas" dans la barre bleue en haute, le sablier tourne...Cela dure une dizaine de secondes et tout redevient normal.Cela semble se produire quand je modifie une CSS (CSS Designer).J'ai restauré les préférences mais cela continue...Une idée ?Merci d'avanceJF

Overlay in web design to create a tree like structure

Hello Group,Totally new to web design but proceeding slowly in right direction.Can anyone help me with a sticking problem i have please?I am designing a few dozen web pages for my family history and, attempting to use a TIFF of JPEG image of the family tree.What i want to do is have a rectangle around every person on the tree which has a built in link to thatindividuals web page.Can't seem to find a way of placing a single 'cell' table anywhere other than to the outer edge of the TIFF image where ineed several separate individuals of them, all independent and re-positionable to produce the links.Any help greatly appreciatedRegardsBarryTittle was edited by Moderator.

Live View doesnt work for some reason, even though I have set Chrome as my default browser for it in preferences.  It refuses to leave Design View.

.htaccess not working since update to Dreamweaver CC

Hi,I had a website created in Dreamweaver CS6 (PHP 5.6) and created friendly URLs using htaccess which worked fine. I have since updated everything using Dreamweaver CC to PHP 7.3 but now the htaccess file has stopped working. I have been in touch with my hosting provider Fasthosts and while dropping the extensions is working in my htaccess file works fine, its not reading the friendly URL's.Fasthost has asked me to check the scripting path of my website as it seems that the file does not recognise the path of my files for my pages.What do I need to do to get it to recognise them?Thanks for all your help!!!!

Dreamweaver CC 2017 - Constructing Menu Error

When trying to open Dreamweaver CC 2017 on my Windows 7 PC, I receive the following error..."Dreamweaver encountered problems while constructing the menus from the current menus.xml file. Please delete the current menus.xml file and rename menus.bak to menus.xml."I've done this, and it didn't work.I've uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled, and it didn't work.I've followed the directions for the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool, and it didn't work.I've tried starting Dreamweaver holding Windows + CTRL + Shift to remove preferences, and it didn't work.PLEASE HELP!!!!Mike

Books that help you learn how to style bootstrap

Can anyone recommend a good book that might help me learn how to style bootstrap using the latest version of Dreamweaver?  I kind of had it all figured out in C6 but this newest version seems much harder to follow since it's such a small area. I can't really find any good tutorials on line to help me so I thought I'd try buying a book. My local bookstore doesn't carry any books on Dreamweaver of Bootstrap so it looks like I'd have to order something and I don't want to order something that may not help me.

No more legacy CC apps

Dreamweaver project doesn't open properly

Hi I was working on a school project where i had to create a website using a template, I saved the project to the creative cloud folder to open it on a different computer, but when I opened it, the template was gone and the live preview of the website looked like a simple word document file. Is there a proper way to save the project so that I am able to edit on a different laptop?

Adobe Animate CC files not working after being loaded to the server

Hi,I had a few Animate CC files on my website that used to run fine. The html page loaded and the animation worked fine, but not anymore. When I go to one of the pages, I get a blank screen.My website is created in Wordpress, but the Animate CC files are copied to a sub directory on my website so they can play freely without having to be part of the wordpress application. I published my Animate files without any issues and copied over all the published files: the html file, js file and images to the sub directory I created on the server. Everything played fine from April 2017 until now. Then, last week, I made some updates to the Wordpress site as well as updating my version of php on my hosting server to 7.0.After making these updates, the Animate CC html file no longer loads. Below is an example of one of the pages that won't load. Website hyperlinks suddenly not working due to missing .htm extension in links

I created a website with Dreamweaver 20 years ago with many hyperlinks between multiple pages (say about 20 distinct pages). The hyperlinks were all working without the .htm extension in the hyperlink code although all the webpage filenames have the extension. All of a sudden (without changing the hyperlink paths or source filenames) none of the links will work without including the .htm extension to the hyperlinks. I have recently modified the home page using latest Dreamweaver including updating META DATA. Otherwise no changes have been made. Can anyone help explain how the hyperlinks would all of a sudden stop working? Thanks!

Safe to use empty <a> tags in 2019?

What's the latest on how naughty (or not) it is to use empty <a> tags?I like using <a> for almost everything cosmetically interactive; keeping all my formatting is in the CSS. And the visual is often a background image. As such, my HTML has various instances that look like <a class="name"></a> with nothing else, not even the usual space (or nbsp) we used to have to put to make it work.Is this bad practice in 2019, or is it relatively safe to use empty <a> tags nowadays?(I just find the code looks better without it if it doesn't need it.)

Selectors is grayed out when trying to edit css

I've created a page using bootstrap and started a new css file so I could customize it. Everything was going fine and I wanted to see what my page was looking like so I clicked the icon to view my page but then when I went back to editing, I could no longer access the CSS selector. It's grayed out.I've highlighted the section under source code that I want to add style to and I'm in Live view but since the selector is grayed out, it doesn't see the css file I started. I don't know what to try to get my editing ability back.

Javascript changed to replace in code

When I open one of my older files where JavaScript was used, <script LANGUAGE="Javascript"> has been changed to <replace LANGUAGE="Javareplace"> and everywhere where it once said <script> it now says <replace>. I don't know why this is happening and I don't know what to do with it. Change it back or leave it as changed.I am using CC (v 18.2) .

Not able to select columns to adust

I have been using Dreamweaver for a long time.  I suddenly am unable to select columns to adjust the with or height.  I have 2 tables on the same page.  The first one allows me to select and adjust but not the second.  I can select and change content of the cells in both.  Is there something I selected that locked up the ability to adjust these columns?Thanks,JP

Help transferring CSS code to Dreamweaver

I wrote my code in CSS for a website, and when I copy and paste it into Dreamweaver (I had been working on it in a different platform) the design that showed how I wanted in the first platform became distorted in Dreamweaver. I had created a top navigation bar with buttons, some of which had hover drop-down menus, but in Dreamweaver, the buttons are misplaced and the hover drop-down menus do not appear. I was wondering if this is a common problem and/or is there a way to fix/see what I did wrong. Thanks!
