Just moved from PC to Mac at work. Editing an HTML file, I keep getting an error "Sorry, you can't delete the root folder." But all I'm trying to do is delete a line of text (with a couple of links in it). After a few minutes of delete-a-character-get-an-error, delete-another-character-get-error ... I got it down to a single quotation mark that it simply will not delete.Does anybody know WTH?If I had any hair left I would be tearing it out.

Need to be able to select newer local files for uploading after site wide update. Can't seem to locate the function which will slect only the updated local files in CS6. Synchronization doesn't seem to work!?Any ideas please?
Building a 'how-to' guide for a small business, which comprises around 100 documents (PDF, Excel, Word - to be opened in their respective applications) which are stored on a network drive. Wanting to build a simple but impressive looking front-end offline site (to be opened in a browser) to access these documents (by category). Do you have any suggestions around the best application to build this in? I'm fairly tech-literate but not able to go beyond basic coding. Have the whole Adobe CC suite, hence why the question here.Thanks!
My Windows 10 crashed following an update and I had to reset the computer, reinstalled Windows 10 and all other software including Dreamweaver CS5. I have also just taken over another website which was originally coded in FileZilla and this appears to have had a testing server installed. In trying to create a testing server I have installed XAMMP but I am having difficulty understanding the relationship between Apache, MSQL PHP and the new website. Should my files be in a subfolder of XAMMP? They are currently in C\:SBS with subfolders for public_html and www (which appear identical apart from the latter lacking the public_html files.
I have been using Dreamweaver CS3 on my old laptop and when I transferred it over to my new laptop (both are Win10), I was easily able to get it to work but I could not get it to activate.Ultimately, Adobe tech support tried and then told me to delete and reinstall. Which I did. But now I can't install. Even though this is the only Adobe app I'm trying to install (not include Adobe Reader, which is already installed), I get an error message that says, "Setup Already Running: You can only install one Adobe product at a time. Please complete the other installation before attempting to install Adobe Dreamweaver CS3."Again, I'm not installing another Adobe product. I've deleted prior versions of Dreamweaver, per Adobe's instructions but nothing seems to work.I just want to install and activate Dreamweaver, which I didn't think would be so hard since it loaded easily via CDs, Can anyone help me eliminate the error message so I can install and activate Dreamweaver? I have been having an issue when it comes to my web preview rearranging my content when I change the size of the browser and when I use the site on other computers with varying screen sizes. All I want to do is make it so it is all consistent across all platforms. I have been coding it using HTML and CSS rather than using the design feature.If anyone could help make the items static that would AMAZING! Thank you for your time.
Hello,I have a template problem I've never seen before. Pages using the same template do not display the same template layout and information. I have inserted 3 links to pages in the site. original template: http://mhaaa.org/Templates/basic.dwt page correctly displays template layout: Spring Art Tour page incorrectly displays template layout: Spring Art Tour As you will see the incorrectly displayed page layout even has en entire section of the template missing (2018 Artists). I'm truly stumped and need a fresh pair of eyes to look at this.Thanks,Tamlyn

Hello,when using Git with Dreamweaver (and initializing a repo from Dreamweaver), does it create a public repository visible by anyone on a browser? Or is it private?As I'm working on different computers/locations I would like to "Associate a Git Repository" and then "Clone an existing Git Repository using URL". How do I find the URL of the existing Git Respository? I have initialized it on computer A (I guess it's using github by default), but today I'm on Cpmputer B and I don't know where to find that URL.Also, is there a way to see and manage all the repository created with a given Adobe ID? To see on which computer they are synced, etc. ?Many thanks!

I have a page on a site that I'm copying / pasting text from a .pdf file into a div. in a very recent post, Nancy suggested using FancyBox to solve a lightbox problem. In a discussion a while ago she had spoken of the alternative of a Bootstrap modal.I am updating our website: dominiquebello.com to make it responsive, using Bootstrap. The original website uses an earlier version of FancyBox, which Nancy helped me get working.Any quick thoughts on whether I should use the new version of FancyBox (ease of use, achievement of the exact effect we got last time, etc), as opposed to a Bootstrap modal, whatever that is?ThanksJerry
I successfully installed Dreamweaver CC and purchased a subscription. I have been using my DreamWeaver CS4 with my Windows 7 operating system successfully for many years. I recently have been unable to "PUT" or upload edits on my website to the server. Nothing has changed since a month ago when I was successful with this but now I keep getting the error message below (see my responses in ALL CAPS):An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. No response from the server. when I create a table, I add column to have vertical line dividers. I assign them to be 1 pt wide. Coding shows them as 1 pt wide. However when viewed browser, they appear wider than 1 pt. Hello,I'm having an issue uploading my website to my server. My website was created in Dreamweaver using the Bootstrap framework. I used my credentials from my Hosting Provider to connect to the server but and it worked. Now when I try viewing the website on the browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome), I don't see the changes, it takes like 30mins or more to see the changes. I clear browser cache and everything like that but I still have the same issue. I did notice in Dreamweaver on the Connect to Server buttons has a yellow checkmark on it. Does that seem right? I thought it wassuppose to be a solid green circle. I just wanted to upload the files on the server and see the instant change. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for looking at my post. I'm using the Bootstrap top-fixed Navbar as a template on my DW site. I inserted the DW Bootstrap navbar and edited it a little bit. Then, made it a template to use on many pages. I added links in general links area of the navbar; they work fine on all pages. I added links in the drop down area of the template. The drop down toggle responds only on the template page not actually going to the links of course. On all of the pages the drop down links do not work; while, other links on template do on the site in the browser. Thinking I may have deleted something I needed when editing the template (removing the search form). I double checked Jquery and Bootstrap necessary files by inserting another Bootstrap template from DW. I received no errors that such files where missing. I'm thinking that using a Bootstrap navbar in a DW template has limitations ? A sequence of the code follows with
I don't know how to begin this question as this has just started to happen. I have a page layout that is linked to a template with "Lightbox" js in the <head> section of the template. I open the layout file edit and add copy and other changes and save the renamed file to my root directory. When I open the file in a browser the js does not execute. I have gone back to the code and looked at the Lightbox js and there are three incorrect path changes that were inserted when I did the save and update. I keep the page layouts in a subdir off my root directory. The Lightbox js is a subdir off the root directory. When I save the edited layout page I save it with a new name to the root directory. This has all worked perfectly for the last several years and even last week, but I am at a loss as to how and why the changes to the js paths are occurring.Background: I am not a Dreamweaver or HTM pro, but have just enough knowledge to be dangerous. I am using DW-6 as a stand alone application.
