First of all   the site discussed here is NOT secured by a pay as you go authority but by cacert.org   So your broswer will NOT be happyOk on to the problem....  Mostly as a learning experience i have been setting up my web site to be "secure"   yes i know with cacert.org notbeing acceoted by all majopr broswers  I really am not  but I am not doin e-commerce  of evening using site to exchange email If I was I might put the money down .. that asideThe issue I have is I am 90% done with making this site responsive.     What has me baffled is that the standard view of the  index page is responsive  but the same page when views under https   loses columns  in Safari and Chrome  (but not in Opera   go figure haven't checked out firefox yet)The site is kasdivi.comYes your browser will hate the https version  any thoughts or insight would be appreciatedJason

I though this would be simple butI finally got around to adding security to my web server.     On my personal web page  i simplyy too the existing index.html and copied it and rename index.shtml and expected all to be good, instead ny two columns in the page body get treated as onehttp://www.kasdivi.comworks as its hashttps://www.kadivi.com  shows the problem...Some how I imagine this is just a simple oversight?Any thought or inputs would be appreciated

DW is removing my line breaks when i paste chunks of text in. It merges all my paragraphs into one big paragraph and it is driving me insane. My source text has line breaks but no formatting other than that. Does anyone know which setting to modify in prefs?I am in hurry to get this done over the weekend. So any quick tips would be really helpful.

I have read through all other posts, tried all suggestions, can't fix the error!I use Dreamweaver CC and all was working perfectly, could put/get files directly from dreamweaver to web host. My computer was stolen. Got a new computer, set up the site and server exactly the same. It will not connect. I get the "FTP error, access denied, cannot find public.html, it might be a permission" error. I have looked at the permissions, they are not the problem. I looked at the log, the password and username pass, it gets stuck at the public.html phase. I can connect though filezilla but don't really want to use another program, I like the ease of hitting the put button when I make a small change. The only thing that it strange is the ftp log which says that the root directory is "/" not "/public.html". Please, please help.Karin

This is becoming incredibly frustrating!Dreamweaver keeps crashing after a few seconds every time I open it. Al the other apps are working fine. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting pc, installing older versions, had our local IT support look into it and no dice.Can somebody help?Every time I start to open it windows says the program encountered a problem and forces it to close.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dreamweaver CC 18.0When I click on the + in Bindings Panel I get the following errorWhile executing findDynamicSources in Recordset.htm, a javascript error occurredThe popup then comes up, but I am unable to select a connection. It locks up and then crashes.Any fixes?

hello,today, I've start back on a new project and for that I launched DW... most of the time I'm most using external software for coding once the project is running (ST, Grunt, Node, Sasson Ruby...)so now I was back for intensive work on our old friend DW... and what was my surprise... woaw.... a simple Ctrl V + Ctrl to replace 18 instance on a single open document took... almots 30 seconds give me back the hand...splitting design / code... works... cliking on desing works... cliking on code view... took almost 40 second to give me hand and select anything... once something is selected... DW hangs perhaps 30 seconds before give the hand...I went on tasks manager... and I saw that DW took 480 Mo, and Helper 920 Mo...any idea ?thanks...birnou

Hello, I am so used to cs6 that - even though i learned a lot of features of cc - i was wondering if i can edit the site that i created in cc and put it into cs6. I have both. I didn't see any big changes so far when i did that.Thanks so much,Anita

Why is DW CC 2018 trying to do everything in its power to stop me from writing my own code?! In Dreamweaver CC2017 we had quite a few of these annoying options (like auto finish tags) turned off to make it more of a raw editor, but after updating to CC2018, I can't figure out for the life of me how to turn off most of the new wizzywig features, and it's seriously preventing us from efficiently developing new sites - we just updated today and development grinded to a stop.For example, how do I turn off the following?1. As code is being typed, DW keeps highlighting sections / chunks of code with orange highlight. What is this? 2. When I manually highlight a tag (to copy and paste for example), DW highlights all of those tags on the page.Any help to turn things off (to start) would be MUCH appreciated. It's driving us crazy.

Hi,I've read through and gather the only way to import local images files into my site is to drag and drop from Windows explorer.I've used Expression web for years and there was an import function to add files and folder into the site - just curious if I am missing an option or drag and drop from outside is the only way to do this.Thank youDorothy

HI have Dreamweaver CS6, Ilustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6. I have a new laptop with higher resolution screen. The adobe software menu text was fine until yesterday, now it is TINY and I can barely read the menus in all 3. It looked just fine until yesterday! What happened? I know, they say to increase your screen resolution but that isn't the ticket. I can not afford to upgrade to CC and Adobe should have a fix for those of us that didn't want to buy into a monthly fee for the software that we use only a few times a year and was already purchased in full.Why was it a fine text size yesterday and today it isn't. It is November 28, 2017. Did Adobe do a software update????Any help???Please help! I need a magnifying glass to read it.

I created a series of snippets for some tooltips I want to insert in a web page on a wildflower.  I started inserting them in my page, which is here:  (link to website removed by moderation, as not relevant to problem).In the middle of this process, Dreamweaver closed on me.  When I reopened Dreameaver, the snippets panel was still there, with my snippets listed.  However, the trigger key no longer responded.  The insert button did not respond either.  I am now unable to use my snippets to create the tooltips. Please help!

I'm trying to transfer some of my code from another html editor I've been using to create a website to Dreamweaver. Is there a way to open them in Dreamweaver and save them as a Dreamweaver file? Will it work if I just open it in Dreamweaver?

I've been using Chris Pederick's great Web Developer Toolbar for many years.  The latest version of Firefox Quantum has removed the APIs that allowed Chris' add-on to work.  The newest add-on version 2.0 is a shell of its former self.  Many tools & features are gone.  As Chris explained , he had no choice but to remove them. Reviews for Web Developer – Add-ons for FirefoxWhat remains of the add-on is not visible on a toolbar.  Instead, you have to dig into top level menus and hope you find what you're looking for.  I'm really, really upset by this change.  If you're like me and you use the Firefox Web Developer Toolbar, DO NOT UPGRADE Firefox and be sure to turn off automatic updates for your add-ons. If I can, I'm going to revert back to an earlier version.  This is really awful.

I’ve found an odd bug that I’m looking for help resolving. My organization uses an LMS that gives us limited ability to modify parts of the system. The home page uses tables and I can add some custom CSS to change things, but I’ve found an odd bug only when viewing the page in Internet Explorer.The home page uses tables, which we have to use, and each table width is set to a percentage. Each table has 2 rows and 3 columns and only the middle column is not set to a specific width so it’s free to change width depending on the width of the page.I’m applying border-top-right-radius to change the top right corner cells of the tables but doing so will add a thin white space between the left side of the cell and the middle cell depending on the width of Internet Explorer. As you increase and decrease the width of the browser the line will appear and disappear. If you remove border-top-right-radius the line also disappears.I setup a test file in Dreamweaver to check this out and it’s not speci

I updated to Dreamweaver 18 and the browser preview is broke. Most of the time it sits spinning and nothing shows. I close retry and sometimes it previews, but none of the links work. I try again and sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn'tWTH?? This is a vital tool, so why was it broken, or even messed with when it worked before? So i'm now repeatedly trying to fix it, and I have no idea if it's my code, or the preview. SO I have to open the file FROM THE ACTUAL BROWSER. Then it works, but it adds a whole series of steps which is stupid. Any fixes or similar issues? Mac OS x El capitan.

I am using CC2018. I have chosen the color theme "Light". All colors throughout are fine and the way I like them while writing code EXCEPT in one place. When I go to the DW interface itself to set up a new site, for example...SITE >NEW SITE>, the data entry field highlight color is so light that I am having trouble seeing what I am highlighting. Can I change just this one color to a darker color. I know I can customize a theme, but it is way over my head finding what to change and how. I have gotten as far as being able to copy the "Light" theme and make a "new editable" theme from it, but don't know where or what to change to make this one color darker. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached a sample where the "site name" field is highlighted in the default color.Thanks
