I tested Linting in DW CC 2018 it only works when I save the document. If I understand correctly it should work while editing the document by default (Note I have not made any changes to default limiting preferences.Also l note that if I open a document with php extension the language defaults to php in the linting status bar, if I change it to html it still won't report html errors.

The new Dreamweaver CC 18.0 Crashes with no work restoration on restart or save of work in progress. After hours of work, Dreamweaver suddenly crashes with no crash report, no automatic reporting to Adobe, no work in progress restoration upon restart, and none of my work in progress saved. The previous version at least saved my work and restored my open files upon restart.

Latest DW update causes javascript error on cursor rollover of a hex color in CSS style sheet. It should display the color instead like it used to. See image.

Where are the save and load buttons for the Find and Replace queries in the newest update? This was an issue when you released CC 17 and you updated later. I don't understand why it was removed for the 18 version. There are lots of people that use these find and replace searches every day.

Hello, I have a site built long ago in CS4, or really built much earlier and then imported into CS4. Now I want to get the newest version, but is it a difficult process to import my old CS4 site into the most recent version?

Hi Guys,Just wondered if some of you CSS guru's out there might have a solution please..(actually you're all guru's, compared to me ; )    I have had a web designer put together some new website templates for me, but for some reason a couple of the pages do not show the formatting when viewed in mobile version (iPhone 6s / iPad), and my web guy seems a bit stumped - as the headers / footers are the very same as those on a page that loads perfectly.   Apparently the headers and footers of the offending pages will display successfully when on their own, so the content must somehow be preventing the formatting from loading.  Please note they all display fine on PC, its just the mobile versions that dont display properly.   Here are the links (note: these will only remain live while the issue exists).  Successful formatted page:https://mindtraining.net/website/article.html Unsuccessful formatted page 1:https://mindtraining.net/website/index.html

Can someone explain how to set up a Joomla site in DW so that it will display in Design Mode. I am using MAMP as a testing server and have opened a Joomla site in DW, but it will not display in Design mode. When I use Preview (selecting external browsers) the site works fine.BTW, I have created another small (one page) php/mySQL site that works in DW using the same MAMP testing server setup, but it is one I started in DW from the start.  Also, is there any current information on how to use DW to create your own Joomla Template?Thanks for any guidance. I am using DW CS4, Mac OSX 10.6, Current MAMP config, Joomla 1.5.15.

The facts, if you care to know, are simple. Adobe is trying to herd customers to their App Store. The problem is that the App store often fails to work. This has caused Adobe to constantly tweak the extension management system in order to fix the App store. The result is frighteningly bizarre. Another fact is that Adobe never discontinued extension management code. Like other important Dreamweaver features, it has simply been hidden... made inaccessible.Please contact Adobe and implore them to do the right thing. The fair thing. The ethical thing. Ask them to restore to their customers the freedom to install extensions the sensible way.

Hello forum!I updated to the newest CC 2018 Version of DW, but unfortunatly I can no longer compile my SCSS files. There is an error in a Ruby File on saving/compiling:(the first line just states, that the files couldn't compile/import)The first time starting up, Windows Firewall asked to give access to DW and node.js and I clicked yes. I checked again and DW has rights to access the net. On saving the _scss file, it uploads it correctly, but the compiling process fails. The error message doesn't seem to be an error on my part. I tried restarting DW and Windows several times, but no luck.The same files compile fine in version 2017 I just installed additionally.Can anybody help or does have similiar experiences?

So I had to get a new computer since my old one died and it happened to correspond with the latest updates of DW.  I had restored my hard drive so CC 2017 was already on my machine.  Unlike the other apps in creative cloud, DW did not say "upgrade" it just says install so I installed.  Now I realized it put the DW versions side by side with no apparant way to uninstall the old version via the creative cloud app.  Is it good enough to trash the old applications folder for CC 2017 or is there anything else I would need to remove as well?  And to answer an anticipated question, yes I have my settings/sites in the new DW so I don't need to keep the old version around.

I am having problems with CC2018 Dreamweaver with the File Manager listings.I press on a folder and it seems to randomly jump and open another?Anybody else having this issue?

I have been trying for ages to create a Contact Form and recently discovered a followable tutorial on Youtube. In my code window, DreamWeaver insists I need code hints, for all of PHP, MySQL, and HTML (in .php script pages). This makes it almost impossible to code, as all I am doing is continually clicking "elsewhere" to make the code hint thingy go away, so I can type what I already know I want to type. (Believe it or not, I can actually spell mysqli_fetch_array all on my own. And, golly, I know what its arguments are, too!)This forum says, and the tutorials say, I can turn off code hinting in Preferences -> Code Hints. But I have "Enable code hints" unchecked, doggone it. Hello, I am a novice developer, and am plagued and stumped by slow presentation issues.I have Adobe Creative Cloud 2017.  I built a site using Dreamweaver, embedding Animate animations and photos edited using Photoshop.  I am trying for responsive design, so there is quite a bit of CSS code adjusting for different screen sizes, and most pages call two different images, one for wider screens and one for narrower.  Except in the three animations, most images are background images.Initially, I posted the site on a testing server at Adobe Business Catalyst (a free service included in my Creative Cloud subscription).  When my reviewers all complained about the slow page builds, I purchased a HostGator account that promised quick response.  I have also:Optimized the images using the Photoshop "Save for Web" feature (choosing "JPEG High")Compressed the images further using the TinyJPG toolPreloaded the main images on the page before the page that calls them, using :ro

I just updated to the October 2017 release of Dreamweaver. Selecting the standard toolbar (Windows - Toolbars - Standard) when a document is open overlays the toolbar on top of the menu (File, Edit, View, etc.). The only way to recover the menu is to reset the current workspace. Not having the standard toolbar and the menu at the same time is a huge PITA. I use Windows 10 Pro.

Hi,I would like the text to flow and wrap under the 2nd "column" (which really isn't a column) where the movie exists. The second "column" begins in the div that cites the embed-responsive for the movie. I have CS5.5 and a website that uses the Spry Slideshow. I am trying to modify the slide shows and it appears that I don't have the Spry Widget on this computer. I tried to load is and it wanted me to login to adobe and when I try I receive the following error.Can anyone tell me where the problem lies?Thanks, Bob.

Bought this from a guy on Ebay...Won't install permanently on my hard drive and when I went to look at the different functions is locked up and sat that way for at least a half hour.  Finally had to Control+Alt+Delete to shut it down.  Also,when I went to register it the saying "Serial Number is not correct".  Don't know what to do about any of this but I need this to make a website for a group I belong to. Maybe I should just use my PSElements 18 and forget Dreamweaver.
