hello! I want to create a web page, but I don't know how to start. Maybe someone can help me? in what program schould I make a template or layout of the web page? Can I use ready elements of a template which I make in dreamweaver? How to make a CSS  elements on my web page? What is Javascript and when I schould use it? Sorry, my english is not very well.

Hi, I am using DreamWeaver version 21.3.  I have created a simple web site with several pages. I have a navigation menu at the top of every page.  Currently, I have copied and pasted the html for my navigation menu onto each page.  With this being the case, for any change I make to my navigation menus, I have to make the same change in several places. I am wondering if anyone here can tell me the recommended practice if I would like to put the .html for my navigation menu in its own separate html file and simply reference this file from my other pages. If anyone here can suggest a way I can accomplish this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance,Paul

I am using Dreamweaver CS6 on Windows 10 and always have difficulty moving the cursor past the closing tag when working in Split View and typing in Design View. Let's say that, in a table, I have a line that reads <td>text... <a href="link">link text</a><\td> in Code View. I want to move the cursor past the </a> to add something before the </td>. If I press Right Arrow, the cursor moves to the next cell or row. My technique is to move the cursor to the code line at the bottom of the window, click on the closing tag of my choice, press Right Arrow, and resume adding text. A related case is moving the cursor to the start of a table cell before the <a> in order to add text; again I have to click on the tag in the line of codes at the bottom of the screen. My question is thus: is there a simpler way to achieve the cursor positioning I want without having to move my cursor to the bottom of my screen to click on code and press Left/Right Arrow b

I need html and css for a simple page that will have 3 images with text centered underneath each image, side by side on desktop, that goes to 1 column on mobile devices. So 3 columns to 1 column. Can anyone help? Has to be .php file to work with our site if that matters. I will use the existing header footer code for our site, and put this html code into the body. I looked at templates in Dreamweaver, and they were not helpful to me.Thanks!

Here we go again with probably the MOST asked question regarding Dreamweaver.  And after every update, the issue re-arises.  And again Adobe will offer the same 5 generic answers THAT DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.So for anyone OTHER than Adobe, please help.I make my images first for an email template that I build in Dreamweaver.  I upload these images to my company's server.  I open Dreamweaver and start building the template.  The images that I point to in the html all load.  Now I go back and I change one of the images and I replace the old one on the server with the new one.  Now back in Dreamweaver, whether I quit and restart the program, use the refresh/reload command, nothing changes the image to show the newly updated image.  It will still show the old cached image.  I can preview the site in any of 3 browsers, and all 3 will show the old images.  I USED to be able to just refresh/reload in Dreamweaver or click between Live and Split

"Reset to Original Size" I changed the size of the buttons on my web site.  So I'm having to go into each image:Select it.Move the cursor to the properties window and click on the crossed circle to ge teh image to switch to the new size. Is there a way to to the entire page or is there a way to select all the images and set to original size all at once?Your help is deeply appreciated.Michael

It's all started when Real Time preview appeared in Dreamweaver CC 2017 last year and it hasn't been working right since then.Very often when I try to preview page in a browser I'm getting this problem:and nothing sorts it out unless I close the browser and Dreamweaver and restart them, which is very frustrating.And yes, the page is opened in Dreamweaver despite the error above...Any ideas?

Just upgraded to new Dreamweaver on PC. Trouble with arrow selection on menus. Selects certain 'fields' but locks me out of others!! Dreamweaver worked OK before this, but I did have trouble with Chapter 4 of  'Dreamweaver- classroom in a book' in that the coding was having a 'wobbley'! I followed the inputting as in the book, but no luck. I tried three times to do Chapter 4. Can anybody HELP!

Using Deamweaver 21.3Can't see blue frames surrounding text or images used to move or resize in the design window.What am I not selecting in my perferences to show the frames around the text? 

I have html webpage  created in Microsoft front page and I updated to dreamwaver but can only view top part of my webpage (top frame)In code version I can see the full page but in the design or split mode I can only see the topbut no body how can I view the full page in design view and edit it in designer view please helpthanks Mark

I am using version 21 of Dreamweaver. I need to update my .htaccess files and can't see them in the local directory. I KNOW they are here. I can see them in the server, when I click to download them I am asked if I want to replace them, but then I cannot see them listed. A tech support rep suggested me to install the old version (20), and I can see them with this version. So I am currently using version 20 to edit and publish .htaccess files and version 21 for everything else.... crazy Any help is appreciated.

Hello, When i try to edit or add a new server the action buttons (pencil and +) do nothing. I need to edit a server and i cannot do it.Can you please tell me if there is a workaround? Thanks in advance

Hello, Me and my colleague are creating 2 different pages but using the same CCS template file. So any changes that are saved by the other user is replicated on each others pages.Example if i change a button to green and on my colleagues page he has the same button red if I then save my changes his button will turn green. How can we use the CSS template and not effect each others work. Thanks 

I've been using Dreamweaver since it was a pup, but put off joining the cloud until recently.  I am a dinosaur. I generally use 4.0 transitional for the few static sites I'm still maintaining, and am primarily working with XHTML in ebook production.  I'm sure what I don't know would fill one of those books. I have googled my fingers off over this situation to no avail.My doctype declaration is a copy-paste right from W3C: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN""http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> My files validate when I use the W3C browser validation tool.  But when I use the Dreamweaver (v.20.1) W3C validation, I get this error message:Using the preset for XHTML + SVG 1.1 + MathML 3.0 + RDFa 1.1 based on the root namespace. [none]And it's all downhill from there.Obviously I can continue to validate through W3C, but it would be nice to sort this out so I can use program validation.&nbs

I dont want the controls to show and i want the video to autoplay..i added a poster frame but the vid still loads small and pops large which is jarring..and also pops back to the poster frame before it dissolves to the next which is awful-- finally there is a broken image link (blank.gif) that i cant find anywhere in my code ideally i want it to look like this - but fullscreen-- https://smugglersite.com/ thank you! 

Hi just wondering whether its possible to indent a line in a text box that is not a first line. Trying to get the website email line to be in line with the rest of the text but it is slipping below the image as it should. Thanks a million 🙂

I am finally redoing my business website. It is all PHP, database driven. I have a Wordpress website and want to import it into Dreamweaver so that my students can interact with the content. I have exported the content and have the xml file.When I import the XML file into Dreamweaver 21 all I see is the XML code.How do I convert the XML to HTML so my students can interact with the content & use the 'Live' view to see the changes?

My whole website changed from having carousels and Navbar links to being all corrupted and looking like a version from the 2000s. How do I fix this problem and change the version back to the way it use to be.   [Topic edited by moderator for clarity.]  

When editing an existing HTML document, Dreamweaver posts "Couldn't commit the changes made in Live View. Refresh the Live View and try editing again." It them moves everything edited/entered into the page to the beginning of the document body. This essentially makes the software unusable.
