I wish, this window would have the option to give a name to the new comp It would look like this:thanks!
There could be a button on a top panel next to the workspaces for fast cycling through the light and dark themes...I constanly go back and forth between the outiside and inside and also within inside I have ambient light space and deep dark working room for colorcorrection so I constanlty go to the settings in order to switch the themes and they tend to open with a slight delay always...
Feature request: Allow us to provide an x-scale and y-scale parameter to detail preserving upscale so we use it to make cleaner renders from line-skipped 4k content that many modern 8k cameras provide. Why is this valuable to me? Downscaling line-skipped 4k footage by 50% and then performing a detail preserving upscale back to 4k yield a much sharper result than the source footage. I am assuming that this is because line skipping reduces detail and increases aliasing only in the vertical axis but details are preserved in the horizontal axis, so by downscaling than upscaling it re-interpolates and sharpens those details that were missing. Unfortunately, detail preserving upscale does not allow you to only scale in one axis, so we must also uneccessarily crush the details in the horizontal axis along with the vertical axis in the pre-composition before applying the detail preserving upscale effect.
Adobe has managed to give us the new Track Matte feature that doesn't depend on layer positioning and that was awesome! Now this would be great. Being able to select some layer/s below the adjustment layer and choose if they are affacted by it. Please upvote con they engineers can take this into consideration!
Would it be possible to tint a layers colour when its Opacity is 0? (Similar to how Premiere Pro handles clips that are not enabled)This could be a good time saver to see at a glance which layers are currently contributing to the composition without twirling into Opacity on multiple layers. See the mock up below. Thanks 🙂
I use the render queue for rendering out of AE. As it is now the only indication of the composition that's rendering is tiny "rendering" status label next to the comp name in the queue. I propose a very simple and easy to spot blue color label that goes across the comp name in the queue so it's REALLY easy to tell what's being rendered at the moment. As it stands if you have a long list of stuff in the queue even if it is Done or not, it's hard to spot what's being rendered
If I'm using "Matte Layer 1" as a Track Matte for "Fill Layer 3", and then apply a Track Matte to "Matte Layer 1", it has no effect. Her's an example...I want to isolate the thumb: If I set the "Hand" layer's track matte to layer 2, I get this...all good so far: ...now I want to isolate that thumb, so I set Layer 2 (the hand matte) to use Layer 1 (the rough thumb matte) as a track matte: ...not the desired result. Obviously I Layer 2 should use the matte of Layer 1, but it doesn't.
Hey! When I want to quickly access the audio level of a layer I press "L", if i click it again it'll come up with the waveform but not the audio levels. So I have to click it once to get the audio levels and then open the waveform manually with the mouse. I think it would make more sense to open both with one shortcut as when adjusting the audio levels it's really useful to see the waveform as well. Alternatively, when pressing L twice show the waveform as well as the audio level. It's a small change but it would saving me quite a lot of time!
Dear Adobe staff, Could you tell me do you have the way to get a center point of the 360 video by VR Comp editor? There is a 5 mins 360 video that taken to walk within the park where is some corners.I have a tripod with my right hand to shoot the scene and that is slanting sometimes by unwanted signals behind the clouds. And, We cannot walk same pace and walk straight to the destination. It was not like that until 2018. It's not my concentration and capability. So the results of the video is not center point, not the middle of nadir sometimes.Could you kindly consider about providing Adobe user the Youtube video by Jason Levine who provide us the video how to use Adobe products. Otherwise, Mr. Charles Yeager and so on. Best regards,
It would be awesome if AE could have a "Replace Missing Font with ..." screen upon project load.Too many times, we get projects made by other people who use a different version or variation of a fonts.Instead of having to go to "Missing Fonts" in the Project window, and manually replace every occurence, it would be such a time saver to simply designate a substitute font upon load.
There are many times that I am going as large as possible to see as much detail as possible. I maximize my composition window. What I would like is the ability to grab the time at the bottom of that window and use that as a scrub control. (or provide a gizmo to click on to scrub with). Yes, I know I can page up/down to advance the playhead, but a scrub option would be nice as well.
Allow AE to import AI files stored in Creative Cloud
After Effects needs variable font support. It's crazy that we don't have it yet.
Currently there's no way to make shapes within a shape layer blend additively with other shapes inside that shape layer. This is particularly problematic when using repeaters. For more information, read this Reddit post.
I sometimes change the motion blur setting within a comp (Samples Per Frame, Shutter Angles, etc) and then all of the comps that I do from there have the settings that I changed, and then I don't remember what the default was. It would be nice to have a button that just resets them to default.
I think a it'd be pretty cool if when you select a few layers and then create a null (ctrl+alt+shift+y) it'd auto parent the layers you have selected. I think it could save some time. A potential problem I can see is the null being in the middle of the comp say if you wanted to scale. could be fixed by having the null being created in the median point of the multiple layers. And yes I know you can parent after the fact you've created the null before everyone piles on haha
Youtubers need to create thumbnails. A one-image quick export feature in AE is long overdue.Doing so in After Effects now is way too complex a task. Please simplify. There should be a button underneath the video that I press, select export format and folder. Done. Why do I need to go into render cue just to get a quick image??Please finally create a one-button-one-image export feature in After Effect. Thanks.
Hi Adobe, how about save workspace settings online to and sync with XLS file on computer.Every update we need migrate some settings to new version. We have GB on Adobe cloud to store file, why not store After Effects settings like workspaces, colors, render presets... and more...photoshop actions, illustrator actions...Thanks.
in Ae, you can't copy/paste properties of different layers at the same time, it will intuitively duplicate your layers as a result. you can do this using scripts:https://aescripts.com/paste-multiple-keyframes/https://conigs.com/tools/key-cloner/this should be native.
As the title says, these two prefs sections cover very similar things, so why not combine them to make it easier to find stuff in the preferences?
Have palettes for Illustrator and PSD and ID...???
Though there has already been a similar post about this idea:https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-ideas/gamma-and-saturation-slider-for-composition-panel/idi-p/14170602I apologize for reposting, as the previous one did not receive any response. Yes, AE is a powerful tool for motion arts and compositing, and I love using it.However, the exposure slider isn’t sufficient for many compositing cases. Tasks like matching grain, contrast, and black value would be much easier if AE included a gamma slider.Actually it would make almost every comp task easier.Currently I'm checking gamma via ADJ layer, which isn't that handy. It would be awesome if you could consider adding a small gamma toggle right next to the exposure icon. Thanks.
Currently when the post-expression graph is turned on 'Include this property in the graph editor set' is automatically activated for that property. It's very easy to end up with a graph showing properties you don't need to see, and it can be time consuming to go through and track them down. What would be great is to either decouple this behaviour so the 'Include this property...' is not automatically checked, or to add a preference setting so that it can be turned on for those that find it useful. In my personal workflow, I find that I will often want to check a post expression graph, and then toggle back to the pre-expression view. It's much rarer that I need to keep a property visible in the graph set, and if I do it won't always be related to expressions, it's more likely to be for timing reference against another property. I understand that everyone has a different workflow, but I think separating these two buttons (or having the option to separate them) w
This drives me nuts. In Premiere, if you right click on a folder, you get an option to import clips into that folder. In AE, a right-click in the project wind does the same, but it doesn't work with a folder. You have to import from the file menu. Can this be made consistent?
It would be nice to have some padding at the bottom of the layer stack. Sometimes I need to twirl a few properties down and I end up having to scroll, twirl, scroll, twirl, scroll... this puts a lot of mileage on a drawing tablet. Thanks.
