As you know there is no value added to saving a JPEG edited in PS, as a PSD, DNG or TIF . The information lost during original compression simply cannot be recovered. So there is no value added by saving a JPG edited in PS as anything other than a JPG, unless one wanted to preserve layers for future editing. When choosing to 'Edit in Photoshop' this is the dialog:   When editing in virtually any other vendor's program, from Lightroom, this is the dialog:  All the others allow you to choose JPEG, the Resolution, and the Color Space. Only Adobe fails to offer those 'Edit in' options. Consequently it becomes a pain in the posterior region to get PS edits back into the LR Catalog as JPEGS. If you use Ctrl -S in PS, a bloated and completely unnecessarys TIF file comes back into LR and to get a JPG it has to be EXPORTED as such from LR and brought into the LR Catalog.  If you use the Save As dialog in PS and save it as a JPG IT DOES NOT COME BACK INTO LR.  That is not a

What: In the Develop module, make the zoom slider available while masking. It's often desirable to be able to vary the amount of detail visible while masking. At present , howeever, it's only possible to toggle between two zoom settings while a mask is open. Since the zoom slider is not displayed, these two settings cannot be adjusted without closing out of masking. This can make for an unnecessarily awkward work flow. Benefit: Making the zoom slider available while masking would facilitate a smoother work flow by allowing users to adjust detail levels "on the fly" according to need. Given how central masking is, making it a more seamless process will likely enhance the overall user experience.   (If there is already a way to display the zoom slider while masking, I don't know it and couldn't find it, so  would appreciate someone enlightening me.)

I've seen a plugin that adds layers to LR which would save a lot of to-ing and fro-ing to Photoshop. The plugin is actually stand-alon, but also integrates with LR to some extent. It allows many of the layer options found in Photoshop. Not tried it but seems like a cracking idea! 🙂 Making LR more of an editor could make Photoshop redundant for pure photographic work

This is my first feature suggestion, and it comes as a user of my partners hardware/software (I only own CS6 and share their editor as a result, as an amateur.)    Suggestion This suggestion pertains to the introduction of some sort of automatic correction for "non-flat" masks- or to put forward a simple use case, polarizer sky correction. This should be done with masks for the simple reason that this allows more flexibility, and could be added as an option under "Effects" as the new masks panel has beem revamped.    Possible Method In the case of "polarizer sky" an easier solution would be something along the lines of using automatic gain control (AGC) with 2D windows on the image mask. This would run into issues where you have e.g. a very busy sky- hence it may be necessary to allow the user to not just state they want to eliminate polarizer sky, but be able to vary the windows used for the AGC (unless they want to knock out all the dynamic range in their sky

It would be great if I could crop images in Lightroom while using the Reference View. Right now, a user can edit an image in Lightroom in Reference View. This shows the image that will be edited, and an image reference next to the image that will be edited, so users can edit the photo to match their chosen reference. Once 'crop' is clicked, reference view disappears and is only crop-mode. It would be great if I could crop while still in Reference View, so I can match the angle and positioning of the reference photo. If I want my images to have the same positioning, I have to crop, then click back, crop, click back, crop, click back... having cropping inside reference view would make it a 1 step process to get images to look uniform. 

CFexpress card (I can only check Type B) are not detected as (photo) devices like XQD and SD cards are. That results in those issues: Card is not be ejected automatically after import (to me, the worst thing) Add and Move can be used, where Add is a total no go, Move doesn't bother me personally   Please don't blame the OS for this.   Adobe can easily fix this by adding two lines of code checking if there is a DCIM folder in the root of the device or not. Of course that's only a workaround. But I'm pretty sure Adobe board has best contacts to Tim C®ook and this can be fixed in an instant teaming up with Apple, when blaming MacOS. I suppose Adobe will exactly do this, instead of working on a solution.   Honestly, there isn't much difference between SD and CFexpress shown by Disk Utility of Monterey 12.4, viewing the info for the Sony MRW-G1 (can read/write XQD and CFexpress Type B) and SATECHI for the SD Card. When doing panoramas of buildings, it tends to warp the building in a circular result. Similar to using a fish eye lens. The tools in the upright do not solve this problem. The guided tool really distorts the building even more. And when I am forced to take the picture from a low angle, there isn't a way to make it seem level. The best  I have found is that using Auto and then doing the vertical slider does a medicore job. 

I would like to see a partnership between Meta and Adobe where we are able to use Lightrooms services that allow us to upload to sites like Shootproof etc. If we had a way to edit our photos, and then upload them directly to Meta, we would be able to then drag and drop images from the collection in Meta and utilize their content planner more efficiently. You'd essentially cut out the middle man and directly upload your edits and then schedule the time and day for postings.

Lightroom Library View/Loupe View should have option to view Image Aspect Ratio (i.e. 1.5).  Often when selecting images for use in publications created in Indesign and also for planning for print and framing, it is useful and in many cases critical to know the edited images aspect ratio.  This is a simple calculation with information aready captured and retained in Lightroom, namely Pixel Height/Pixel Width.   To be able to immediately view and identify Edited images of select aspect ratios and even better to search and sort by image aspect ratio should be an easy and very useful to Lightroom users focused on Printing and or creation of publications, which I imagine most everybody.  Please add this feature ASAP!  Thx!

Hello,   It would be great if the Smart Collection date fields could support time in addition to the date. This would allow us to create filters like "Capture Date" in the range of 2024-09-22 08:00 to 2024-09-22 08:45.   As a scuba diver, I take a lot of photos during my dives. On any given day, I might do one to four dives (especially on holidays), each at a different dive spot. I would like to have a smart collection for each dive spot, rather than just for the entire day, as it would greatly help my workflow.   For example, on September 22, 2024, I went diving at Spot A and Spot B, where I took: Photos 1, 2, and 3 at Dive Spot A between 08:00 and 08:45 AM. Photos 4, 5, and 6 at Dive Spot B between 11:00 and 11:55 AM.   Currently, I can only specify the date itself, which means I end up with a single smart collection containing all the photos from September 22, 2024, without the ability to differentiate between dive times.   Perhpas there is an alternative

Simple feature suggestion. Add a swap X/Y (or perhaps R/A or A/R) button in the grey bar at the bottom that allow me to swap the Active and Reference photo when in Reference view. Sometimes I select my reference photo and then open an image in Reference view and I think "hmm, I actually prefer the active one over the reference one", and at that point I want to swap them and alter the reference photo instead. Currently, I have to come out of develop view, re-set the reference photo and then click on the other image again. It would be so much easier if there was a swap button at the bottom like the Library side by side view has. Another use case is that I have my reference photo on the left and make tweaks to the active photo on the right, but then I take things a bit further and think, "hmm, now I want to add that change to the reference photo". I know some people may dismiss this and say "reference means that it's the one you're trying to match to, so you shouldn't be able to change it

Photos can be added to the library module via drag-and-drop, i.e. imported. However, if the development module is open, drag-and-drop no longer works. Which is a great pity. I would like it if it would work in all places of Lightroom Classic and the import dialog would always open when you drag photos into the program.

It'd be great to be able to create a smart album that you can set to imports within the last XX hours/days so that you have quick access to the files that you've imported recently, as the Previous Imports selector under the catalog section gets replaced as soon as you do another import. So, when you have multiple cards to import and they may span multiple dates, it can be difficult to go back and find all the photos again to properly keyword them. This isn't too necessary for people who shoot a session and then import, but for those of us that have a walk around camera where we only shoot a couple photos a day and import sporadically, it'd be great, as I have photos spread out over the last month or so and need to go back and find them. 

Hello Today, when I'm editing an event, I'm using "paste previous" to duplicate settings between photos. When I'm working with two cameras, the settings are slightly different between the cameras. Or for example I need separate settings for one area in the room and other area. So now when I'm editing,  for each photo I'm looking for the previous photo that has the settings that I want, switching to that photo and then going back to the photo I'm editing to paste the settings. If it was possible to create separate paste shortcuts like "paste-1" "paste-2" etc it would be efficient and easier to use.  Many thanks Rami

Hi Adobe,   The Lightroom Classic desktop UI looks incredibly outdated. I'm not sure there's good reason for this given its popularity. Please update the user interface to match your other software like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.   A modern, lean styling would not only look better, it would be more competitive with alternatives, and it would provide additional screen real estate for users.   Thank you.

I wish to share a collection of images direct from Lightroom Classic to Adobe Frame.io - my client (Getty Images) requested I share images for review this way. (I've previously published a LRC collection on-line). However, they have specifically requested Adobe Frame.io as they are looking to adopt this system widely...The current version of Lightroom Classic has No direct publish, No plug-in for Frame.io that I am aware of, and the desktop app merely opens within a web browser (Safari).Do you have any information on planned integration specifically within LRC ?

Have multiple smart collection sets defined under Collections in a Collection Set. Select multiple smart collection with Shift Click Context Menu > Export Smart Collection Settings... Save   Note that when the Save Panel appears, there is only one file name displayed in the editable field. Check the output folder and there is only one file that matches the last selected.   Multiple selection is being ignored.

Make Loupe Live really Live parroting everything i do on Monitor 1 to Monitor 2 such as zooming or cropping   The 2nd monitor Loupe - Live\Normal is almost perfect for going through images with clients but for one issue or lack of, and thats when, on the 1st monitor i click to zoom, it doesn't zoom in when i zoom in monitor 2.  Seems like such an easy additon and makes sense it would do that especially on the Loupe- Live feature.  I mean it moves the image when i move my mouse on Monitor 1 so why woudln't it zoom in when i do?   I understand you can on monitor 2 click on it and zoom in if it's live and doing what i'm doing on monitor 1, i would like for it to actually zoom when i do as well.  Or crop.  But rteally just zoom is what i'm after.  Helps to pixel peep with clients or just show sections when they are looking at it on the big screen and i can't easily run myn mouse over and click on monitor 2.     So, my idea is to allow

I'd love to make LR more multi-computer friendly. I have no doubt that there's probably database architecture issues and a host of other barriers... But I have to believe that the need for either multi-user or at at lease multi-computer use is widely desired. And yes, I know you can do the catalog import export thing but I find this less than ideal.

I have a feature request for Lightroom Classic, with a concept illustration which I threw together. When I prepare our wedding photography, my clients often want an artisitic version but also want the original. Each of our favorite effects is applied in essence to a virtual copy. By having something like this, it'll lessen the time and steps in the process. Thoughts?

Hi probably my idea is too weird but I was thinking to the white balance sliders, on Lr and LrC, and something cross my mind when I starting using more frequently in Ps "blend if " option. Wouldn't it be easier and practical to have the Kelvin slider with two arrows or buttons that can I split (as they are structured in blend if) to add or remore yellow or blue within the part that I'm working with??example: while masking sky, I can decide that on the darkest part of the sky add more yellow and on the lightest adding a hint of blue. A cloudy sky normally isn't too blue or too yellow, is a mix of colors, with dominants yellow, blue and so on, so a single slider is not enough, to be creative. I think adding option to split it will give more room to creators to enhance colors. 

In the Develop module, when selecting the crop action, the default crop ratio that is selected to be applied to the image is set to 2:3 by default. That default cannot be changed. As a result, when editing a large number of pictures that would ALL require the same crop ratio but different from the 2:3 default (4:5 for example), you will need for each image, to select the crop action, then select 4:5, then do your crop.   It would be great if the Default could be changed so when selecting the crop action you do not have to select the same different ratio all the time (which could lead to errors and waste of time).    Current workflow: For each images: Select crop Tool > Select new crop ratio (4:5 for example) > Crop New workflow: Once: Set default to the desired ratio (4:5 for example)For each image: Select Crop tool > Crop  

Hi! 🙂Banding caused by LED light during concerts is a big problem in the concert industry. A fix would be much appreciated!Millions of concert photographers suffers from this kind of banding, even if their cameras have anti-banding. Would be great for the music community if Lightroom could overcome this problem.Best regards,Klaus

For speed it would be nice to have the option to just select the jpeg to import to Lightroom when tethering. The Raw would still be saved on my sd card , which could be used later if necessary for processing. At the moment you can either import the Raw or the Raw and the Jpeg, why not Jpeg only ?

When editing something like a product photo, where the background is supposed to be all the same color and share, it would be really handy to have the avbility to "compare corners" somehow to ensure that you are even across the image. I'm picturing a square divided into 4, showing as much or as little of each of the corrisponding corner of the image that would allow you to see just how close or off each of the corners of the image is.
