Would be great if you could add picture name and metadata to images in the library view I often take multiple images of the same subject with varing ISO, Shutter and Aperature Would help to select photos to import or not import if metadata was avaialbe prior to import
1. I send clients scout galleries via synced collections 2. They make comments 3. I then either refine for a tech scout or build a shot list The issue is that user comments are specific to a Collection - if I take an image with comments (submited via a synced colection) and add it to another collection (say I take a scout image and add it to my shot list Collection) the comments aren't visible in that new collection.Right now my workaround is to copy comments into the metadate for each image (I use the Caption field), but with 100+ images at a time this is really manual and repetitive. Would be great to have an option to sync comments to metadata.
Is there a function to auto rotate batch of images (eg. auto levels, auto white balance)? If not is there a shortcut to auto rotate? For example, there are shortcuts for:r - rotateshift-a - maximize cropIf not, can this post be categorized as Idea to consider in future version?
I would like to see a few addtional options on when to discard the 1:1 preview data, such as 90 or 120 days. I have a very large LR Catalog (1.85+ million images) which is currently housed on a 15 TB U.2 SSD locally on my desktop. Right now I have about 4 TB of free space on that drive but am looking ahead to when I will run out of disk space on that drive and options are limited on for getting a larger SSD. In my particular case I mainly touch photos throughout the school year, for various newspapers and/or schools, but once the school year is over I don't go back to those photos very often, and usually would only be working on a single or smaller number of photos which would minimize the pain to rebuild them if I did go back to them. Alternatively, if there is a way that I can identify the "age" of the preview files I would not be opposed to a tool to do that, or the information that would allow me to create a script to remove files that were beyond a year old (f
Would it be possible to add under the "synchronise settings" the option to "constrain crop" under the "tranform" section?
On DPReview and other photography forums photographers using mirrorless cameras without a mechanical shutter (e.g. Nikon Z8, Z9) or photographing with their mirrorless camera in silent mode (using only the electronic shutter, several brands and models) can experience 'banding' in their images when taken under certain types of artificial light. It is caused by the 'rolling shutter' effect and has to do with the speed at which the image is read from the image sensor and the frequency of the light source causing the banding. When dealing with various types of light sources with each their own frequency, it can become almost impossible to prevent from showing up in your photos, despite features like (High Frequency) Flicker Reduction. Although it's better to prevent banding from happening by choosing the best shutter speed for the given situation, banding can not always be prevented. There are ways of deminishing the 'effect' of banding in Photoshop by using layers or masks and apply
HelloWhen I import photos I want to select the ones I want to import and not import all BUT it is difficult to see how the images look like when they are dimmed. I would love Adobe to remove the dfimmed effect and replace it with something else like a green or red symbol instead. As it is now, i have to click the pics in order to see the ones I like and then click off in order to deselect. If i could see all the images once as they are, it would be such a smoother and quicker process.
When importing images to Lightroom Classic, It would be awesome to be able to select "Catalog location" and it would create the folders from there. It will make it easier to copy catalogs from one location to another and use the catalog from there.
I find it difficult to move points in a tone curve. Would appreciate if you could include parametric curves (with sliders) in masks. Thanks
With a large library, I've accumulated over the years some files that either become damaged or have formats not supported by Lightroom Classic. The report window links individually to each one, which is very time consuming and could be easily managed at a later time if all those could be 'tagged' in some way that is searchable, either an attribute tag or a metatag, or giving the user an option to relocate them or identify them in some way later on.
Hello, I work for the account owner. I just want to note that on the next update, it would be incredibly helpful if in Lightroom Classic, when you press "f2" alone to rename a file, it automatically selects the file name itself. Previously, one could press f2 and immediately type or scan to rename the photo. Right now, what is selected by default is the dropdown menu, so we have to hit f2 + tab each time. This may sound frivolous, but we take hundreds of photos each day here so it is tedious.I can't determine which specific update made this change. I have tried downloading earlier versions from creative cloud, but they are not supported / I am unable to open them. It would be great if the user could at least change the settings to enable automatic selection of the file name, rather than the automatic selection of the drop-down menu. Thank you.
Would be possible to have this feature? I often have to deal with uniform backgrounds and to make them neutral I have to go back and forward to masking mode, really a waste of time! Thanks
When importing photos from an iPhone in Lightroom Classic, it would be valuable to limit the number of items shown on the import page to prevent freezing and to ensure thumbnails can be shown. I have been using an iPhone for 10+ years and have 100,000+ photos on my iPhone. When trying to import photos from the iPhone, (on a MacBook Pro M2 Max with 32 Gb RAM) Lightroom cannot properly handle this number of photos. Limiting the number of photos, for example by paging, or by filtering on date, would likely solve this problem.
I'd like to be able to crop images while viewing an overlay in the Loupe Overlay feature. This is helpful for a lot of reasons (obviously cropping to layouts) and also for many newer "fixed lens" cameras (eg. Fuji X100VI, Leica Q2) which have built in crop modes (because of the huge file sizes) to show you closer focal lengths in the viewfinder. These images lose their crop as raw files (they keep it in the cameras jpeg files). I could make a template for Loupe overlay to show the exact crops of all the possible camera crops and crop my files easily.....if I could crop when the Loupe Overlay is active (like you can do in C1). Thanks, Alan.
I frequently have to work off my laptop when away from my studio. I work off a 16" laptop screen when on the road. Whilst it's a decent size screen, it feels small when the develop panel (in the develop module) takes up so much screen space. Sometimes I minimise the panel and continue edits using shortcuts but I can't see the values of the adjustments as the panel is minimised. Is there any way to make the develop panel semi transparent so I can see the image full screen but still see the values of the adjustments I make?
I use a programmed call ENTAGGED for GotPhoto to sell portraits. The program automatically writes a barcode into the the meta data copyright field so that when it is uploaded to GotPhoto, it will automatically sort into galleries created by the barcode. I like to 'rename' files in lightroom with the copyright data where I've previously appended a "name" to the barcode in Excel. This way when the file writes to the copyright field the name and barcode are there. This is good for "naming" files in LR but not for uploading to GotPhoto after edits are made. GotPhoto can only read the file if I remove the name from the Copyright field and leave ONLY the barcode. It's a 2 step process but I cannot manually cut and paste per image to remove the name. I'd like to know if there is a way to ask LR to remove all data to the right of the barcode that is separated by an underscore "_". {Barcode}_{child first and last name}
I would greatly appreciate a dynamic "Export to" location called "catalog folder." When making client work, I won't be able to add the exported pictures of the clients to a folder next to the catalog and I won't be able to add them as an export template. It would be a huge help for me, especially when exporting multiple recipes at once.
The sorting option in the grid view of the library is set to: "Capture Time" by default. But this is not really handy for me and more photographers I know. Every time after importing captures I need to set this sorting back to "filename" which I believe is the best default setting. Working with multiple photographers and multiple editors everybody is complaining about this defaut "capture time" sorting setting for many years now. I can imagine that for some users this default setting is no problem at all but for us this is really a irritating. The best way to solve this would be a preset in which the user can set which sorting order he/she would like to have set as default. This would solve all problems for all users. This would really be a big help! Please consider this as this would really help to make this program beter and beter. Kind Regards, Krijn Westerburgen
I wish to request a drop-down option of 'is exactly when configuring Smart Collections to source images from a specific folder (exactly). This will allow one to configure refined rules for a specified smart collection, without the interference of unrelated images that find their way into the collection because of one word. Let me explain my scenarios a little more... For reference, in the screen capture below, you'll see I have a top-level folder 'Australia' followed by sub-folders for each of the states. Within each state, I also have folders for each region and/or location to further catalogue my entire collection. These folders may partially include words of the chosen folder name. For instance, Western Australia will source images from any folder with 'western' or 'Australia'. Being that all sub-folders are contained within the 'Australia' top-level, the smart collection then sources images from all the sub-folders that have western in the nam
Now that LR 9.2 supports importing PSB files, it would be a little more convenient if you could specify PSB as the default format for editing in Photoshop (Preferences > External Editing > Edit In Adobe Photoshop > File Format). As it stands now, if you want to save an edited file in PSB format, you must remember to do File > Save As and select Large Document Format.
It would be good when Lightroom stops and messages that the keyword already exists if it simply asked - Do you want to use the existing keyword rather than leaving you to cancel out of the process then starting he keyword again.
I would like to suggest that a function be integrated into Lightroom Classic that makes it possible to view the bit depth of photo files so that the file does not have to be opened in another app such as Photoshop or Bridge.Thank you very much
I have so many looks as .cube files recreating them as presets just takes super long. Other programs offer that already but switching between programs takes forever
