Feature Requests

In a broadcast environments we often need to set up the scratch disk locations manually. For various reasons. Most times they all need to go to a folder near the project file, but not directly next to it. It would be great if there was a button that applied one location to all. And then you could just change the one or two who need to go elsewhere. (Most times the Previews as they don't need to be backup'd)Request: Please add a button to apply one location to all scratch disk locations in one go.

Please return audio and video transition icons back to the pre version 24.0 style. They're much more difficult to grab hold of now that they're semi transparent. You're constantly grabbing the opacity slider instead. When they used to be solid you could just grab them and slide them/resize them instantly. It's now much, much more fiddly. The new permanent fade in/out buttons on each end of the clip would ideally also be an option you could disable or enable as they're equally as annoying!

Currently there isn't any way to adjust Submix track volume keyframes with the keyboard. As it a Submix track  isn’t a clip, all the usual ones don’t work… 😞 The workflow now is lasso select the keyframes to adjust with the pen tool. And then manually drag them up/down. This is slow and painful for editors in the broadcast space, as submixes are used to deliver both English and international mixes in one sequence.   Request: Please make Submix volume keyframes accessible via keyboard shortcuts.

Speeding up video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro can greatly enhance your workflow and productivity. Here are some practical tips to help you edit faster and more efficiently:1. Optimize Your Computer's PerformanceUse a Powerful PC: Ensure you have a computer with a strong CPU, plenty of RAM, and a dedicated GPU. This will help Adobe Premiere Pro run more smoothly.Increase RAM Allocation: Allocate more RAM to Premiere Pro by adjusting settings in Preferences > Memory.Use SSDs: Store your media and projects on SSDs rather than traditional hard drives for faster access speeds.2. Organize Your MediaCreate a Project Structure: Organize your media files into bins and folders within Premiere Pro. This helps you quickly locate and manage your clips.Use Ingest Presets: Set up ingest presets to automatically organize and convert your footage into a usable format upon import.3. Use Proxies for High-Resolution FootageGenerate Proxies: If you’re working with high-resolution footage (e.g., 4K), c

With 24.5.0 I can no longer see both waveforms AND audio file names if the audio track is collapsed all the way down. Is there a work around I am unaware about? Working with so many audio tracks means I usually collapse them to save space, but now I can no longer make accurate edits with this update.

For a couple of years now MacOs requires you to authorize acces per app to the microphone. PPro nicely puts up a request for this during it's first start. But I've quite often run in the issue where someone ignored/denied access to it and then completely forgot about it. And then when they try to record a VO for the first time they get no signal even though everything looks good. To stop them/support wasting time looking everywhere it would be great if that once someone attempts to record audio without having the system authorization that Premiere would again show the request acces dialogue (connect it to the record button). This would save our users and support a lot of frustration (it's not something top of mind when trying to find out why recording won't work).

I have an important request. Please read.I was thinking about looking at Adobe Premiere Pro, and at first I was interested in trying it, but then, what I heard about Generative Credits is straightup idiotic, according to Meta AI; "With Adobe Premiere Pro, once you've used up your allocated generative credits, you can't generate AI effects, even with slower processing or ads. When you exhaust your credits, AI-powered features will be disabled until you: 1. Purchase additional credits 2. Upgrade to a higher plan with more credits 3. Wait for your next credit allocation (if included in your plan)"Especially how I purchasing the app and contionously purchasing credits or waiting a month to generate AI when you run out and have no way to purchase unlimited credits or keep it running after paying once.Could you please make a plan so I don't have to keep spending to use something?I would gladly try to purchase a version that lets me use most or all features without having to keep paying

How can I highlight the clips used by marking each thumbnail with a color, accent or fading those that have already been uploaded to the assembly line, in order to differentiate them from those not yet used?I propose a function so that with the right mouse button, for example, we can mark the clips that we see in the Media Browser and in this way hide them from the rest or differentiate them visually.

I have a feeling that in one version of Premiere Pro, this issue was resolved. Unfortunately, I'm 100% certain that adding a 'Shutter Angle' of any value on a 'Transform Effect' shifts the clip position relative to the anchor point position. In both cases, the visual representation of an 'Anchor point', which appears after clicking on the 'Anchor Point' option in the Effect Controls panel, stays in the center (both horizontal and vertical) of the timeline/composition window. However, when you apply any value to the 'Shutter angle' the clip shifts outside its anchor point center.  This issue only occurs when there's a mismatch between timeline resolution and clip resolution, eg. when you're working on a 2160x3840 (9:16) timeline with a 3840x2160 (16:9) clip or on a 1920x1080 (16:9) timeline with 3840x2160 (16:9) clip.  The 'Scale motion effects proportionally' option does not make any difference in this case.   The 'Use Comopositions's Shutter Angle' op

It would be amazing to have the FX badges active but have the option to add a modifier to open the Effect Control window. I find that I click it by mistake all the time, especially on longer timelines with numerous clips. It's nearly impossible to miss it even when trying. On the other hand, I love the ability to open the Effect Window this way. Anytime we can eliminate clicks on routine tasks I am 100% on board. Up until now, I would double-click the clip in the timeline which loads it in the source window but with the video showing. You then need to click over to the Effect Controls. Sometimes you just want to see the settings....

With the 24.4 update  the fx badges permanently show on every clip. When moving clips around the timeline I often accidentally click the fx badge on the top right which then opens the effects controls for that clip. I'd love to be able to turn the fx badge off like we used to be able to as this is a real pain when moving clips around the timeline.

Some general ideas on changes to how labels work in Premiere. It would be ideal to have a "No Label" option.  In this world, there would be a default label/color that a clip exists as whenever it's brought into Premiere.  Then the user can assign whatever label/color they want once imported.  If they don't then it exists in the project/timeline as the default label/color until it is changed by the user. 2. RIght now, if you have "Show Souce Clip Name and Label" enabled in the timeline, when you cut a clip into the timeline it follow the label that is set as the source, if you change it after you cut it in, it changes in the timeline.  This behavior is correct.  It would be great to be able to have BOTH Source and Timeline label colors enabled at the same time.  Meaning, if a clip has a source label/color, that is the label/color it is when it's cut into the timeline, if I want to apply a timeline label/color to that clip, I can do so and that wil

Version 24.5 There is a very small clickable area when trying to drag clips along the timeline. I like to quickly edit videos in Premiere Pro. Part of that is quickly grabbing and dragging clips around on the timeline. I feel like its getting more difficult to do this without slowing down and trying to click a precise spot on a clip. This is especially a problem when you work zoomed out on the timeline, like I prefer to. All this results in me undoing a accidental edits and trying to grab clips multiple times. It slows the process down a lot. There a list of things that are in the way that accidently get clicked when I go to drag a clip now. -Opacity Bar (for audio it's the gain bar)-Fx Button-Transition edges, postion, & length,-Clip start and end positions,-And Audio has all this, plus the Essential Sound Button.  I'd like a way to try and toggle some of this stuff off. (if there is a way, I'm unaware of it) I don't need to adjust clip opacity using a bar

Is there any way to get a warning / confirmation message before clips get deleted out of the timeline? After years of being paranoid about something accidentally getting deleted when I'm zoomed into one area and don't realize it goes missing from another area, it finally happened and almost went to air.   It was a complicated timeline and I must have had something selected or an in/out on it and not noticed it.Most other programs warn you if you're deleting something.  Other than locking and unlocking tracks (which would be a huge drag), I can't see another way.  I'm working in version 23.1.0

In other softwares like Cubase pressing down the ALT key invokes the razor tool. It do all my cuts holding down the ALT Key. It returns back to Selection tool V when the ALT key is released. This is so handy.  In premiere I need to remember to come back to the selection tool every time press C. This interferes a lot when you are editing text. By mistakes the entire content gets replaced by the letter C or V. I use a lot of subtitling or text using essential graphics.  Any thoughts?

I keep finding random periods in the middle of a sentence, even when the speaker is has not paused. It's clear that AI is trying to determine where the punctuation goes but doesn't understand basic grammar. Perhaps the direction to put commas after every pause should revert back to basic grammar? Here is one example but this happens frequently with every paragraph and becomes tedious to correct. Transcription has improved overall in word identification, but grammar could use some attention.

Let's say you have a complex sequence with a lot of clips and on top you have your sequence markers to describe and comment on what's going on below. Very helpful - all in different colors and stuff. But then suddenly, you need to move things around, add clips.  Why do you have to move the markers  one-by-one seperatly from the clips below? Why cant's you just link them to a clip, so you make sure they always stay together? This would enormerously help me if there would be a link option.

So first off, bring back colored FX badges! It was so much more useful visually to tell what kind of effects were used where, super handy for any kind of finishing or prep work.  Secondly, I've been running into a major issue with the new implementation of the FX badges in my work lately. If you click on the badge, it'll open up the effect controls panel. Good idea...in theory. The problem is that ANY click will open the effect control panel, even if you're trying to click and drag a clip. This has become a huge issue for me since I am constantly moving clips around in sequences, and I'm constantly accidentally clicking the FX badge since it's a fairly large space on the clip. If we could either disable the opening of the effect control panel OR make it so it doesn't open until you finish a click, it'd be much more useful. For right now, I just need to turn it off because the misclicks are costing me a lot of time built over a day.

When using the export function inside of PP(bypassing ME), a blue popup window let's you know when you're export is finished. A couple of idas to improve it. Allow assigning a sound effect and/or allowing CC notifications like in ME.  The other thing that seems missing is an easy way to pull up your exported file in the finder. Maybe I could click on that blue notification window to "Open in Finder" or something?

I know this isn't really a new idea. I've seen other posts where people have asked if this is a current feature but most of the posts are 2+ years old and I'm just so baffled that Adobe decided to focus on changing the colors of the assets instead of adding a feature like this that would actually be useful. An awesome feature that would save time would be being able to change the default "Show Clip Keyframes" from Opaticity to something else of our choice (for me it would be Time Remapping 200%).  I can't imagine this is a difficult feature to add as I'm already able to change the Clip Keyframes but I just have to do it manually for every single clip. Having the ability to set the default would save me a siginificant amount of time. I know this feature has been asked for before and I would like to see it added.  P.S. If you wanted to move the FX clip button back to the left side that would be dope because on long clips now I have to zoom in and out constantly e

Could we get numbered read out for hue, sat, luma in the color wheels?Basically like we have in Lightroom Classic for the color grading tab. Thanks!

Is anyone else having issues with the latest Premiere update - specifically the audio handles that automatically appear on the audio track now and the effects are now 'clear'? (I understand the purpose of the handles, but I have no need for them the way I edit. I don't understand why the effects are now clear making them harder to identify though).1. If you add an audio transition to an audio track, it becomes very difficult to delete the transition. I use the fade transition on audio all of the time, but it's now very difficult to select the transition if you want to delete it. When you try, it only selects the track and deletes the track. I noticed the transitions now appear 'clear' and maybe that's part of the problem. Double clicking the transition to change the parameters is a little easier, but delting them is difficult.2. Does anyone know how to turn off the handles? Often I try to grab the audio track and move it, and instead accidentally select the handle and start changing th

As a video editor working on a long-form documentary with extensive footage and numerous interviews, I often need to manage and track the segments of clips I've used across various sequences. While the current feature that shows how many times a clip has been used is helpful, it can be improved to better suit my workflow, similar to how Adobe Prelude functioned.Proposed Feature: Enhanced Clip Usage TrackingPurpose: To provide editors with a comprehensive tool that prevents accidental reuse of clip segments by clearly indicating where and how each segment of a clip has been utilized across a project. Key Features Detailed Usage Tracking:• Display the specific segments of a clip that have been used in various sequences.• Indicate the IN/OUT points of each segment within the clip. Interactive Hyperlinks:• Allow users to click on usage instances, which will act as hyperlinks, taking them directly to the IN point of that clip in the specified sequence. Integrated GUI:• O

We often need to collect the project for transfering or archiving purposes. When collecting - all assets will be collected in one folder which is a bit messy....it would be great if files can be collected in 2 ways:- following the Premiere project bin structureOr- following the folder structure on hard driveThat would help us a lot in keeping the collected projects organized.
