Feature Requests

Hello Premiere Pro Community and Developers, I'd like to propose an enhancement to the way Premiere Pro handles the storage of media cache files, specifically the .pek and .cfa files. Currently, the location of these files is configured globally in the program's preferences under Media Cache settings. This approach requires manual intervention to change the location for each new project if we want to keep project files and cache files together, which is not very practical for those of us managing multiple projects. Suggestion: I believe a more streamlined and project-friendly approach would be to allow users to set the media cache location on a per-project basis. This could be integrated into the Project Settings or Scratch Disks settings, where we could have an option to select "Same as Project" for media cache files. Such a feature would automatically store all media cache files in the designated project folder, thus keeping all related files consolidated and making project

Solved Edit: this is already a feature using the text-based editing transcript, I was accidently using a static transcript. Idea is null. Leaving parts of the original post for reference below:Search and delete all instances of any word/phrase as filler words are not always just "um" and "uh".Currently, I can search a phrase, but it gives me no option to 'delete' or 'delete all' in either regular or Beta..Example: a 1hr 30min video with "you know" 448 times.... 

Better wipes (choose from adobe premiere elements)Also better animated titles.

Adjustment track!Imagine having a track, with motion settings and the possibility to add effects to it.Imagine moving a clip to that track and get that clip autamtically affect with those settings (heart iconx3)

I have always felt that while the UI in Premiere Pro is very good-looking, it hinders productivity on smaller screens because it is so large. When switching from a 32" 6K display to a 16" MacBook screen, I find myself struggling to edit efficiently with such limited screen space while on the go.Recently, a company called JetBrains introduced new UI scaling options with values going below 100% in their integrated development environments. This made me realize that this solution could completely resolve my issues with Premiere's UI. I do not want to adjust the scaling of my MacBook screen; I would only like to adjust the scaling of Premiere. I'm sure many other users feel the same way and would greatly appreciate such functionality.  

Hi,I work in Animation and am often having to fix technical glitches in the rendered animation .movs. I'm very efficient with using masks however, often times it would be a lot easier if more of the paint/drawing/cloning tools from Photoshop were available right in the effects window in Premiere. Especially with cloning tool - lately I've been doing the "manual" version of what cloning does - all with a duplicated copy of the clip on the next video layer on top, masking in the "preferred' spot of the picture I want to use as a patch on the main video track, and adjusting the position of the "patch" video clip, which is exactly what the clone tool does in photoshop, but with more simplicity and user-friendliness. I know there's (relative) seamless integration with beinging able to both send a still image to Photoshop and use the exanded toolset there, and/or bring a clip into an After Effects comp and use the expanded toolset there. Hello folks,Quick question -- is there a way to set a certain list 'View Preset' as the default for the Program panel when creating new projects? I teach video editing courses, and the two most basic properites for a video clip are the frame rate and the resolution. In list view, the Frame Rate column is right there after Name, but Video Info (Resolution) is waaaay down the line, after a bunch of comparitively useless columns. I know the easy fix of clicking the hamburger button and Saving a New View Preset, and from then on you can switch to it for any project and it retains that view upon reopening, which is great! However, my students often start new projects throughout the semester, and every new project starts with the defualt view. This isn't a huge issue, but the new project process is already cumbersome enough for some of these kids, with me having to remind them that aside from name and location, they should completely ignore the absurdly broken "Import" screen that

Hello there, Is there any way to make it so 'New Sequence from Clip' creates a sequence where Composite in Linear Color is unchecked? I acheived this is almost every 'new sequence' scenario by creating a sequence preset with it unchecked, which Premiere jumps to whenever I create a new sequence via the file menu, project panel, etc. The exception is 'New Sequence from Clip'. When I use that feature, the created sequence has Composite in Linear Color checked.Any way to get 'New Sequence from Clip' to follow suit and start off with that setting unchecked?

Peak generation progress should also be in the progress panel and not just in the status bar.

as I mostly have lots of footages on my project and after assembly and a rough cut, most of them are unused , so I  use "Remove Unused" comand  to make my projcter lighter. so for me it's a very useful tool. I wish it developed and give us options to select kind of files, etc. there are sometime that I need to apply "Remove Unused" but not in the whole project, just on a bin or on a group selected clips. It would be useful to have a "Remove Unused" while you do a right-click on bin or selected clips. thank you. 

Project manager (PM)is one of those tools that doesn't get a lot of press.   No big features or snazzy AI tools.  It is however crucial for my work when packaging a project for later use or collaboration.  PM also seems to work fine for small projects.  When project get large however, PM seems to break down.  When attempting to package large projects, PM churns for days, and then just pops an error of not being able to copy some random file, and stops.  No options to continue, no detauils as to why, it just quits.  Days of waiting wasted, and no idea why or what to do about it.    When i go look for the file in question, it's there in the timeline and elsewise.  No errors in the project and no other problems.  Just with PM.  Part of the problem also is that PM gives to updates like other parts of Premiere do.  Yes you have a simplistic progress bar (without even a percentage to refer to) that you might say

There should be a way to configure the export queue to show the total running time so that an accidental short clip draws more attention to itself when we are always intending to render whole 30 minute programs.  Right now, the time would show on the current render details but not listed for each upcoming render in the queue / queue area.  I didn’t see an option in preferences so this would be a good feature request for the development team. 

How you ever used filmora? Absolute seemless motion tracking. Now have you ever used Adobe Premiere Pro? Talk about a painful experience to get motion tracking for even a 5 second clip. Filmora is $50/year subscription and Adobe is a multi-billion dollar company that can't seem to figure out what decent motion tracking looks like. And before you say "Oh just keyframe it" why don't you try keyframing a 4 minute video? It would take so many hours you've lost everything you gained and then some. Next "Oh just use After Effects" brother. This software will not cooperate if it's existence depended on it. Once I've got it motion track, pasting it onto the graphic I want to tranform sends it underneath the clip and not even an act of god could bring it back. Next will be the plugins. Mocha is absolute garbage anyone who says otherwise is sucking the Kool-Aid straight from whoever created it. Mask to transform is nearly as bad. Hello there, I have an ongoing editing project where I am creating videos that review hearing products. After my edit, I go through the text transcription and make corrections as needed. The 'find and replace' feature has been excellent in helping speed along this process. However, I also need to correct a lot of the same product and company names - which are mentioned across many of these types of videos... It would be nice to be able to add these words to a 'dictionary' that Premiere's transcription engine could refer to. Would be a nifty improvement to an already greatly usefool tool.  Thanks...

Let's say one of my b-roll folders on my hard drive is called "floods."  Let's assume that I have 10 clips in that folder and that I've imported the folder as a bin into my current project.  So now, I have a bin in my project called "floods" and in that bin are 10 clips, all flood related. Pretend it's a week later and I have 10 more great clips of floods.  I dump them in my "floods" folder on my hard drive and now I have to manually import those 10 new clips into my project.  This is an enourmous time suck and totally pointless.  If only Adobe Premiere had some sort of auto-linking feature that would be smart enough to scan my "floods" folder and update the clips within my project.  It can't be that hard.

I'm running Premiere Pro Beta and it automatically tags audio clips as various types of sound (Dialogue, Music, Ambience, etc.). It'd be nice if Premiere offered the ability to automatically change color (or use a specified range of colors) of clips it has Tagged to match the type of Tag. This way I can easily see Dialogue, Music, etc in my timeline at a glance (not just using icons). 

It is really annoying to work with Premiere pro, dealing with clients who doesn't always have the newest Version. The changes you make with the upgrades are not that huge, so I don't See the reason to make it impossible to work with a slightly older Version, importier a file from a neuer one. I appreciate the whole adobe suite very much but this is really a pain, since the updates are coming more frequently

Hello everyone, I have always noticed that Adobe programs on a PC run much smoother on a MAC. But with the latest update to After Effects, the interface just started to fly and the design itself is very modern and pleasing to the eye. It would be cool to see this in the new version of Adobe Premiere Pro

Premiere render queue all audio clip to be rendered and process only one at a time. It would be great if multiple audio clip could be rendered in parallel. That would be a big performance boost. Best regards

Why does Premiere Pro always have an attached audio file, even when the clip has no sound? There has to be a completely unnecessary audio track by default. It’s annoying and makes no sense. Isn’t 33 years of this nonsense enough? Can it finally be changed?Another thing is the sliders for adjusting the image in windows, practically in the same color as their immediate surroundings. To move the image or find the slider, you have to stick your head into the monitor. Why do you stubbornly cling to senseless ideas?

Today, all work stations have between 8 or 24 cores. Generating wavesforms takes ages...  It would be great to be able to choose how many cores premier could use for this task. Berst regards

In After Effects, clicking a number in the Effect Controls panel, in the Timeline, or the Properties panel, gives you a built-in calculator. Typing "360/12" will calculate the number 30. Typing "1920/4" will calculate the number 480. Typing "1920-50" calculates the number 1870. Etc.  This is a very efficient way to rotate, place or scale a layer to a specific value! A time saver! The built-in calculator makes it super-easy to place logos or graphics an exact amount of pixels from the lower right corner, place picture-in-picture layers in the correct position, etc..We need this functionality in Premiere pro too! Pretty please!

PROBLEM: There are quite a few log codecs recorded by Sony, Canon, and other cameras that are "managed" in Premiere. Which means that if you have both Auto Detect Log and Auto Tonemapping "on" in your color management preferences, your media is "normalized" to linear display space. For most codecs, quite nicely as a beginning 'feel' for the normalized image. But many codecs are not yet recognized by Premiere, and finding the current list of "managed" codecs is very very difficult. Manually handling non-managed codecs is a very different process, requiring user knowledge of correct steps. The current situation confuses even very experienced users. I just went through the current Premiere "Help", and also searched online. I couldn't find that list. And when I can't find it, I doubt many can. Premiere should have a list that is a pop-up within the color management panel showing all currently managed codecs. NOW.

Have the entire track look different when Mute, Solo, or Toggle Track Output is changed similar to how the Toggle Track Lock function changes the look of the entire track rather than just the icon on the left side of the Timeline Window. It would help for more visibility when editing.

Hello everyone, I'm starting to work in audio description and subtitling for for blind and deaf people and I'm looking for a feature that show the characters per second in a title. It's so helpful to make the scripts with the caption function of premiere that already shows tc time when working on text to record and also can be so helpful to check the duration of the captions so they can be readed in time in case of be working with captions for translation or deaf people. Since now it's becoming more and more comon to make captions for media I think that if it's not already on premiere this can be a really nice feature to add. Also a color function that changes with the characters per second to see visually if the caption or script are ok can be a good adition to this function. Best regards from Spain and God bless you all 🙂
