So this may be necessary because of my workflow. I keep my project files in a folder on a drive permanently connected to main work computer. This folder is automatically mirrored on dropbox. But I keep all my scratch disks on my external media drive. I have easily 50 drives so when I create a new project I want to set my scratch disks on the specific media drive... And I sometimes take the media drive with me to work at a clients on my laptop or on their computer if it's available. So having scratch disks assigned to the media drive is crucial. Not a big deal, but would be great if there was the option on the new project interface to set your scratch disks... In the heat of battle, anxious to get started, I sometimes forget to reset the scratch disks and they by default get set to the Premiere Project folder... And it seems to me, setting scratch disk locations is an essential part of creating a new project... Be
Hey hey Adobe! I'm often in the situation where I receive dailies from assistant editors on a project where I'm working entirely off of proxies. They'll send me organized sequences, and I'll link up the proxies. One tiny thing that always drives me a little crazy is that when I go to relink those proxies, I can't just select all the media on the sequence, then right-click and go to the standard Proxies menu to re-attach them. I have to click on a single piece of video, right-click and reveal that media in the Project pane, THEN go to the Proxy menu and re-attach them. And if the media on that sequence is in several folders, I have to open each of those folders and re-attach the proxy media. I would LOVE to be able to access the right-click>Proxy>Attach Proxy menu by selecting all the media on a sequence, and then right-click to access the proxy menu for all of those clips. Thanks for considering!
Hello adobe. We have some feedback for premiere pro, and to make it even easier for you, we've made it into a video you can watch quickly and understand better. Best regards Louis and Toby
It would be very useful if it were possible to continue browsing while a video file is downloading, or download multple files at a time, but currently it is not possible, i.e. I have to wait for a file to finish downloading before I can search for other options.
This one is pretty simple, but I think it would be great to be able to nudge transitions left or right using my keyboard. Here's the thought: When you click on a transition, you have the ability to nudge the clip using the Option/Alt + Left or Right keys. If you add Shift to that combo, it nudges by 5 frames. I think that would be awesome.
Hi Adobe Dev Team, We're really enjoying the auto caption creation tool within Premier Pro for English Lanaguage auto creation caption from video. This would be even better if you release a Langauage pack for Te reo Maori. Let me know if this is on your future stratigical plan? I'm located in New Zealnd where video content is often a mixture of spoken English language and Te reo Maori lanaguge which both are offical languages of New Zealand. Thanks in AdvanceHTV
Thanks for a great and evolving product that has made editors work much more efficient and enjoyable in many ways. It would be great to have an additional feature, alongside the existing minimise all tracks and expand all tracks, that would be called something like "fit tracks to panel", so when I resize my audio and video tracks, which I constantly do, we could hit one button and they would fit automatically to match the height size of the timeline panel.
I have some XMP metadata embedded in an MOV file with a description of the shot.I tried using the Media Browser panel and the import tab in Premiere Pro to search for my video library using the words from this description but it returned no results.Search using metadata only works after importing the file into the project, within the Project panel.IMO this should be a basic feature of the Media Broswser panel. That way I could use XMP metadata to create a video library that I could browser directly inside premiere and seamlessly import that footage into my project.
When editing via a sequence opened in the Source Monitor and/or as a Source Sequence, it would be a great addition to have the option to enable the Multi-Camera view. Right now, it is greyed out (see picture below) and the only way to view more than one angle from my derushed sequence is to open the sequence in the program monitor or match framing to the original multicam clip. My workarounds a this moment :Editing with the copy/paste function from a derushed sequence opened in the program monitor, but this way, you can't have both the source and program monitor opened AND edit with the insert and overwrite function, the later being my preferred way to edit for track patching reasons.Setting a picture-in-picture effect to view multiple angles when which is not great for clarity of image and it gets time consuming on the long run to removed the effect - if edited. Editing from a source sequence is a huge time saver when assembling and/or revisiting a curated selection but
an very high portion of the videos we all make includes product names that might be words mashed together or all new words entirely. Being able to help the transcription by teaching it a few names that will come up in the project should help the AI drastically. If I'm making a video for The Baconator at Wendy's and it's always transcribing interviews as "Bacon ate her at when these" it's a much less useful tool. Giving it the headstart of those words would give the model something to work around. I suggest implemetation could be a text window where you can type some common terms, tab-delimited.
I always sort my clips by camera into bins, but the smart bins or filters wont let me create bins from the creation date,. I think it would be helpful.
When starting a new project you are greeted with a screen showing many thumbnails of clips. I would much prefer if the screen had no thumbnails and just let me select a location and filename, it feels like a waste of resources to load all of the thumnails and videos when I have no use for them. There used to be a new project window that allowed you to select scratch disk as well which seems infinitely more useful than selecting clips, it would be great if we could get that back or better yet, allow us to open premiere without first creating a project like After Effects.
The built-in keyboard shortcut for renaming a project in the Productions Panel is ENTER or ENTER (NUM), but if you assign this keys for another function in the same panel you lose the projects' renaming shortcuts and discover that you can't assign it back again, because this function isn't listed in the Keyboard Shortcuts window. It would be convenient for us to have it listed and editable there. Please, note that I'm talking about project renaming in the Production Panel, but not the production renaming itself.
In 2019, Christopher Johnston created an extension, that allows exporting several videos, according to markers on a timeline.more info in this videoThe extension (updated in 2021) is here Unfortunately this extension didnt work with my latest Premiere version ;( any alternative solution?I'm surprise that such a FREE option is not available yet in Premiere!!! Thank you
We need the ability to add words (on an ongoing basis) to a custom word list for the transcription program to reference. I work with spiritual practioners and often discuss topics relating to Hinduism in my videos. The random English words the transcription inserts are nothing close to what is actually being spoken and on an hour long podcast, it takes an arduous amount of time to scroll through by hand to try and make sure I catch and correct them all. This seems like it would be a simple addition to program. Please vote for the idea if it would benefit you so we can all have this resource!
I would very much like the ability to color code (label) Projects within the main Production panel. Once a Production gets busy with lots of working Projects; backups, archives, camera cards, music, stills, sequences, sub-sequences etc, it can be confusing coming back to a Production (after a weekend for example) and knowing which was the last working (current) project. This becomes even more important when working across a team, who may all use different naming conventions (however much you tell them to stick to the rules). The outcome I would like, would allow me to say to a co-editor, "It's the green project in the sequences folder"
I wish there were a command that could change the mouse into an anchor point It is very annoying having to zoom all the way out, find the anchor point, move it, and scale back everything time I wish you simply holding down CMD or Opt and the mouse would turn into an anchor point that I could place between the subject's eyes This would help me improve workflow and increase productivity Thanks
Hello and thanks to premiere pro.many time i need to Copy Just Clip markers to Sequence but can't premiere.i so happy if add this function to premiere pro. Thanks, Manisoft.ir
I've fiddled with the interface Preferences in Pr and this is the brightest I can get the text, compared to other apps.Is there any way to force the text to display in White instead of this dull gray color? Or even change the color to something bright like yellow
Hi there, I shot an interview that needed a simple audio edit, after export, to bring one of the speakers up in volume. Trouble was, the audio layers were flattened, so I only had single track audio to work with. Yes the best way is to get the original files and boost the audio there, but that wasn't an option. So I looked at text based editing to help. I transcribed the audio, created the speakers, highlighted each segment where one of them spoke and copied them into another layer. Then I nested the audio to create two tracks and adjust the audio across the whole interview. My question is, would it be viable to have this be automated within premiere. Would it not be possible to click a button to have the speakers separated into two tracks from one? If it is possible, how could it be implemented and what would it look like?
"Selection follows playhead" Seems to get turned on everytime I freshly start premiere and everytime the lumetri tab is open (This is all versions of premiere that I have tried, 2022-2024). I am constantly messing with keyframes on short clips and it competely breaks my workflow to have this setting randomly turn on and changing which clip I have selected. It would be amazing if there was a way to completely disable this feature.
Hola!
It can be incredibly frustrating and time-consuming to navigate through multiple workspaces, tabs, and levels while editing. As a new generation content creator, efficiency is so important! For instance, having to navigate to the essential graphics tab just to adjust certain text elements, or having to delve deep into menus to apply simple effects, can really slow down the editing process and dampen the creative experience. My suggestion is to incorporate features similar to those found in other modern editing software. If competitors start to match Premiere Pro's capabilities while offering a more intuitive interface, many users, including myself, might be inclined to switch platforms. For example, adding convenient buttons directly onto the program monitor, like Clipchamp's Crop and Flip buttons, could greatly streamline common tasks such as video cropping and rotation. Similarly, integrating quick-access controls for text formatting directly into the program monitor w
As a new user, I'm struggling to learn the names of each panel on the screen. As expected of new users, I will often accidentally close panels on accident, and then I'm left absolutely dumbfounded on how to find it again. Even if I look at the Windows menu, the names there may not match with my concept of what that pane did for me, and that's largely because there's nothing standing out as naming each panel. As I explore the program I often right-click in places to see what options and solutions are available for that pane. If that menu had the name of the pane as the first thing at the top, I would faster grok what the program refers to with each pane, and I would also find solutions and answers to problems online much faster. I want to find the places where I have (for example) used a Morph Cut in my timeline. Using Search in the Timeline allows me to find effects applied to clips, but I can see no way to find different types of transitions. To be able to do this would be incredibly useful to me. As the icing on the cake, I would like to be able to search and replace all cross disolves with film disolves or similar. Kind regardsPeter
