In After Effects and Photoshop, "Alt + ←" works as a tracking shortcut for multiple selections of text, and "Kerning" works for single selections. However, in PremierePro, tracking cannot be set as a shortcut. Please unify shortcuts like AfterEffects and Photoshop. To make Essential Graphics even easier to use, you need this tracking shortcut.
Hi! I often do jobs when I'm manually lining up two clips from different cameras. I'm doing the sync by eye, just looking at the waveform (and then I'll take a listen to confirm). So, I zoom in, click on a clip, and nudge it left and right till it looks about right. One slightly annoying thing is that, when the volume of an audio track is low, the waveform is concealed by the "this clip is selected" line. Here's what I mean:If I've inserted those images properly, the first image should show four tracks without a clip having been selected, and the second image should show what happens when you click on a clip: the waveform disappears, hidden by the highlighting, and therefore making it much more difficult to nudge into the right position so that the audio lines up.I don't have a suggestion for the best alternative. I mean, I don't know an alternative way Premiere could indicate that a track is selected that wouldn't cause this issue (maybe change colour?).Just hoping you
Currently, in the adobe premiere Transcript menu, you can detect multiple speakers and rename them But NOT DELETE THEM!!! I DON'T want to name the cameraman and people talking on my documentary film set. I want to see only what Speaker 1 my main interview subject says!! Then I could auto generate captions on a timeline with ONLY the main "Speaker"! This would help so much!! The work arounds arn't worth it. Its too tedious to go into numbers and excel, delete allllll of the speakers you don't want, export, convert and import. I just spent an hour and half on the phone with ADOBE SUPPORT in India trying to do this and they couldn't! They were great but couldn't help. I ended up just using Chat GPT instead lol Thanks for your time your great! I feel like this message was in the style of amanda binds ask ashley series from all that =P
We have television stations that are asking for .mp4 and TS files with embedded captions. We are able to provide them embedded files in .MXF files, but not the .mp4 or TS files. Could this be something you look into including in a future Adobe Premiere Pro update? That would be extremely helpful. I have seen several other posts about this, so I don't think we would be the only ones who could use this update. Thank you!Angelo
After I sync all the video footage from 2-3 cameras with the audio, and everything is perfectly in sync, sometimes by mistake I move some footage without realising, and the project obviously becomes out of sync. Would be nice to have a feature to memorize all the synced footage, so if someone by mistake moves some shots out of sync, at the end to be able to recall everything in the sync position with 1-2 clicks. 😄 Recall Sync or something like that I would name it. I didn't see this feature on any other video editing apps, so I think it would be something original for Adobe. Hope is not a terrible idea, just crossed my mind. All the best, you're doing an amazing job!
As an editor, you sometimes receive content that has flaws and must be cut up a lot, which extends the edit hours you would normally have if the content that was delivered for the edit had some basic ground rules to make the edit clean, for example, flawed content of in camera speakers. This leads to a lot of extensive cutting and a lot more time 'saving' the video than one would normally. When you write an essay or a text on doc you always get a word count. I would find it very useful to have a counter that keeps track of all the cuts you made in one sequence. Having this data would help to 'proof' to the client that certain edits take more work because the content delivered was so flawed. Anybody who has an idea if that is an option in PP?
Hi, in the Program monitor of Premiere Pro there is a lotta emty space which is not used by any means but reduces the vertical usefull space for a user plus there is the upper home bar which used to be able to collapse in the old times but now it is fixed. Can Adobe please do something with it? We - FullHD monitor owners - find it not so convenient. In my screenshot the red boxes indicate the spaces that can easily be removed thus optimizing the program monitor interface. The yellow one points out the upper bar which can be made collapsible like it used to be. The red lines below show the useless empty spaces that can be reduced with no harm to the usability.Upvote those who think the same way
I just had a project today where the client wanted a normal transcript in a Word DOCX file, but exporting out of Premiere means a lot of excess work to do this. Thankfully, I have a plugin installed for dealing with captions that makes this much easier to do, otherwise I would be tearing my hair out.I would love a future update in which we can export transcript-like TXT and RTF documents (my transcript in question today has a lot of symbols in it that did not translate in TXT) that have the captions placed in paragraph format with no timecode and the ability to toggle even showing the speaker off and on.
This is something I have wanted for so long. I would like to see what framerate a clip is when in thumbnail view in the project bin. Just show "24, 60, 120, etc..." in the corner of the clips thumbnail. I have attached an mock-up.
Hi, For years, and even on DaVinci Resolve 18 and Adobe Premiere Pro 2023, we have the problem of importing DNxHD (and DNxHR) ".MOV" and ".MXF" from the video/legal and full range interpretation. Wouldn't it be possible to implement a feature to interpret the media between legal and full? (As it may exist in DaVinci Resolve) Best
The production features of Premiere Pro are amazing. There are a few things I found inconvenient while using it, so I want to share them with you.1. Can not do Reverse Match FrameIt seems that reverse match frame cannot be done across projects in production. This is quite inconvenient.2. The focus of the project panel changes every time. This is hard to explain, but if you have an edit sequence in Project A and footage in Project B, you want to keep Project B on top, but when you touch the edit sequence, the focus shifts to Project A.Every time you add material to the timeline, the focused project changes, which is time-consuming. It would be nice to have an option to prevent the focused project from changing automatically or to keep any project in front. If you have a solution for the above, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
maintaining continuity between clips in a sequence is just a copy/paste nightmare! i constantly have to tweak the color on my clips so i waste a ton of time deleting the lumetri effect from the current clip, then selecting the previous clip, then navigating to the effects panel to select and copy the lumetri effect, then back to the current clip to paste the lumetri effect - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. that i want to tweak the color of my clip. 10 years ago - FCP had the option to copy the color effect from the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd clip before OR after the current clip. is there something like that in PP that i don't know about?? any workarounds? This is pure torture!! I can't keep copying/pasting/deleting lumetri effects over and over and over. Please help me.
I create a custom Metadata Display. I select it every time I start a new project, and then I have to re-order it on every project. Why?
Perhaps I've missed this feature somewhere but it seems obvious that Photoshop's "Select subject" technology could be used to automatically animate subject masks in Premiere Pro. Is there a way to currently do this or is this feature at least being considered in a future update?
I've been running a project from a local server, but my mac usually disconects from the server on reboot. If I haven't reconnected to the server folder in finder before launching the project Premiere Pro offlines the media and presents the relink media panel because it can't access the files. That's fine, but after reconnecting the folder in finder I still have to locate one of the files to force a relink of all the videos despite all paths actually remaining the same. It would be nice if there was a 'retry' or 'refresh' button that you could use if you've reconnected a network drive, or re-plugged in an external drive where you are just telling Premiere Pro 'hey check that again, should be where you think they are now'. Easier for the user, presumbably easier for the software as it doesn't need to update any paths (or check about updating them).
I like how I can export the transcribed text to a .txt file. But I wish there were more export options. Specifically exporting to a Microsoft Word file.
I need the ability to quickly find the video used in the current sequence via search bin and transcode and relink this footage. Unlike the "consolidate" feature I just want my clips to be transcoded so I can still work with all the other clips. But in the "search bins" I can not filter for "video used", I have to add metadata to those clips to search for them AND then I cannot add proxies or relink/replace footage on those clips in the search bin. I have to go to EVERY folder manually, select those clips and relink them. This takes SO much time!
I'm using a FullHD display and working with with 4k footage. When I need to animate a mask a part of which goes out of the screen, the only way of doing so is setting a smaller zoom level. The problem is that 75-50-25% IS WAY bigger than the program monitor screen is, even the 25% makes it look like that (cropped):So why is 100% not actual 100% of the screen but rather a multiply by two? Isn't it logical to make FIT a 100% zoom level and the rest of the numbers - higher or lower from that number? And to say the least, why cannot Adobe make it changeable by just typing the necessary number should it be 1123or 19 or change via the mouse scroll like it is in Ae...So the only ways for me is either go fullscreen every time which is completely not convenient or go by 10% like that:Have you tried masking at 10%, Adobe? This is so exciting!
Add a transcode feature within Pr for VFR to CFR. This would resolve issues related to clips that are constant Frame Rate but devolve into Variable Frame Rate during the file upload from CFexpress media to PCs. This is a known cause of Pr indicating a few, less than 50, dropped frames, but without actual errors noted. Thank you 🙂
In the Timeline panel of the Preferences window, the checkbox "At playback end, return to beginning when restarting playback" doesn't just affect playback in the Timeline, but also in the Source Monitor. Why is this a problem? Because users have very good reason to NOT WANT to return to the beginning of their Timeline when restarting playback, while also ALWAYS WANTING to do so in the Source Monitor. Unfortunately, the all-or-nothing approach of this checkbox affects playback in both the Timeline AND Source Monitor. This design is illogical, and frustrating. Playback in the Source Monitor should ALWAYS return to the beginning of a clip when restarting playback from the clip's end since there is simply ZERO reason the ever not want this to happen. Whether this is indeed a bug or by (very poorly thought out) design, I am not sure, but either way, this needs to be fixed. It should be a relatively simple fix. Simply set the Source Mon
I would like to see the ability to pan the timeline while holding down the middle mouse button. Like a temporary hand tool without having to switch tools. I believe this is the behavour DaVinci Resolve uses and really speeds things up.
If you search for text, a nice feature is you can "auto select" the searched words. But if you want to select just a portion of what you searched for you can't tell what You have selected. the section colour is nullified by the search colour. It's also heard to see that the auto selection is applied. Dragging and selecting the searched text should overlay a unique colour or should invert the text so it's clearer to see what you selected. Kind of like the way Adobe inverts a selection of text in Photoshop so you can see what you're doing. Thx for listening.
Editing text is a wonderful feature. But searching for something is unneccesarily awkward. The search window is just too darn small. If I'm searching for a phrase, even three or four words long (which is what you need to find a unique bit of dialogue) it can frequently be too large for the window. Why is this a problem? Well... if you have a few words in the window the and can't see the beginning or end of your search, and nothing is found, you can't tell you may have accidentally added a space, or you didn't actually clear your previous search, or you have a typo. To modify it you have to awkwardly slide around inside the windows or use the arrow keys to slide to the start or end to see if you made a mistake. It's like looking through a keyhole to read a page of a book. As far as the interface, I can't see any reason why the window needs to be this small. Please, please, please make it bigger - expanding depending on the size of the text panel. Thanks for listening.
Anytime we use warp stablizer, it adds significantly to the project file size. This is problematic as large file sizes cause poor performance. Can adobe find a way to store the data created from warp stabalizer outside of the project file, like in media cache or in a scratch folder? A lot of projects that lean heavily on handheld material rely on warp stabalizer. In the past I've either resisted using it at all or resorted to doing stablizing in After Effects then rendering. This is way too combersome. We need to be able to use warp stablizer in the app without a ballooning project size.
It would be great to be able to select sequences and just reduce the project itself without having to consolidate and transcode. Basically just the ability to effect the project and not the media.
