In response to this post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/framemaker/display-of-imported-pngs/m-p/12237246 I tried to reply and typed my reply and hit post, and I got hit with a "post flooding" error right after I clicked Reply, entered my reply and clicked Post, so I thought I would follow up here: For Export to PDF - There are no special settings that I could findanywhere that would help me get the equations recognized as images when exporting to PDF. The equations remained recognized as text.            For Export to PDF/XPS - There was a single setting that I could try(Optimize for Image Quality), but again, the equations were not being recognized as images. Only text.            For Save As HTM/HTML - I tried Lin's recommendations (Save >Advanced, and Web Options) at a size of Cambria Math 14 point, many subscripts, especially those with a descender such as a "

I have an equation-laden document that I am writing. The equations are being created in a Word doc (.docx) using Word's native equation editor. The .docx file is then saved as an .htm/.html file and all the equations in the document are automatically saved as .pngs in a separate folder named as image.(n), where n is the image number.  I double-click an equation in this folder to automatically open the equation in my image editor (SnagIT - I don't need anything as heavy as Photoshop as I am not doing any modifications to the equations) and save the equation without any changes to it whatsoever with a new name. I then import the image into Framemaker byreference.   I don't mess w/ the dpi of the image when I select it forimport - any image in the folder that was created during the saving of the Word file shows a dpi of 96 in the Imported Graphic Scaling dialog box when I select it for import and although this seems nutty to me (because none of the images are over-sized). .

When i export to pdf and open the document in microsoft edge the contents is out of order, i am trying to correct this. My 130+ page document uses disconnected pages. I use stand-alone table of contents in the document. Any help is apprichiated.Mircosoft Edge & Chrome Screenshots 

We just moved from Frame 2017 to 16.0.2.916 (whatever that means). I opened one manual's book file, opened all the files in the book, and printed the book to PDF using Adobe Acrobat. About half way through the list, frameMaker closed abnormally but it did produce a PDF file to that point.Has this happened for anyone else?

Is there a way to combine the two generated lists on one page? 

I am building DITA documents in FrameMaker 2019. The hierarchy in the DITA map is not being reflected in the PDF output I generate. For example, in one small document I'm developing I have the following hierarchy of topics:- What is DITA     - Why Choose DITA     - Focus on Best Practices         - Minimalism         - Structured Writing         - Topic-Based Writing         - Content Re-Use     - Core Structural Elements and Attributes           - The DITA Specification               - DITA Maps                    - DITA Map Definition                    - Book Map Definition               - Concept Topic Definition     

Hi, I have generated a TOC for the book, but the hyperlinks are not working for some chapters. These are chapters I have changed the file name. I created another book but they don't work either.  

I noticed some files have colors such as color24, but some files have just a few available. How can I add more colors to a file or have the same in all?  Thanks

I am publishing my FrameMaker book to Responsive HTML5 output. The images display in the HTML output, but images within the same section are overlapping each other. Also, text from the next style is displaying on top of the image.  Has anybody run into this? My images are inserted in Anchored Frames. I have played around with various insert settings, but none of that seems to make a difference. Thanks in advance for any insight. 

I work in a department in which we produce financial factsheets that are imported into Structured FrameMaker 11 in order to produce the formatted documents. Currently, we are working in FrameMaker 11 (Structured). Because this version is no longer supported by Adobe, we are considering upgrading to the either FrameMaker 2019 or to FrameMaker 2020. What has your experience been with these versions? Are the any bugs that we should be aware of? Are there  any software enhancements in these versions that you recommend? Are we safe to upgrade from Adobe FrameMaker 11 to either of these versions, or should we update the versions incrementally? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks. Brenda

I am exporting my structured .fm files to XML and we see bold format is not working in the XML file. is there any way to automate the bold format? by mapping it for XML conversion? or any other way... We have 3000+ pages ..so wherever we have used bold format is not appearing in the XML file...it would be helpful if we succeed in automating this P.sI am a technical writer and not much experience in mapping elements or making code changes. so precise explanatio would be very helpful.

Hi All, I am trying to open 64 bit Framemaker file which is located on my local system through a 64 bit C++ app. I am having FrameFDK libraries on my local system as well.I am able to open Framemaker  application from the code.One of the file in the library “Fapi.h” has a method “F_ApiWinConnectSession” which actually create a Framemaker session for the file to open up inside the Framemaker app.The above method will return “0” as return value if the session has been created successfully and the file will open up. But I get a return value as “-20” and the file is not opening within Framemaker app.

Is it possible to find and copy whatever file defines your saved workspace? I had to reinstall Frame on my home PC and I was wondering if there was a way to match my pod setup without doing each tool one at a time.

The HTML5 output that I generated form FM 2020 V16..0.0, when deployed to the dev environemnt is not working. The dev console lists the following errors related to Javascript: 1) Refused to exceute the inline script... 2) Uncaught Eval Error: Refused to evaluate a string as JavaScript 3) Uncaught ReferenceError: gTopicFrameName is not defined   I am new to FM and HTML, please help me understand and resolve this issue.   Thanks   Moving from Using the Community (which is about the forums) to the correct forum... I installed framemaker on a surface pro i can login under admin login but when new user launch framemaker nothing happen. i added the user  as local admin and made sure c:\user\appsdata\roaming\adobe\framemaker have full access to the path but still no luck in launching Framemaker i have 3 new user with the same problem no error come upbut when i log to the surface pro my self i can open framemaker.in the past i was advised to check regedit and change to %userprofile%\documents that use to fix it but not anymore. any help is appreicated

When wanting to edit an imported jpg file with photoshop using the shortcut esc + l + g FM opens RoboScreenCapture instead of Photoshop - as the shortcut is IDENTICAL! How can I change the keyboard shortcut or how can I use a shortcut to open photoshop and NOT RoboScreenCapture?Anybody got an idea?

Hello Framers!Is it possible to add a Cross-Reference on a Master Page?I'm trying to provide a method for the document user to reference another chapter from anywhere in the current chapter. The document I'm converting from has a side header on every page that accomplishes this.I know it's not the typical FrameMaker convention but I'm trying to accomodate a client.Thanks!Sam

Hello,Seemingly overnight my option when being able to print a book to PDF has disappeared. Yesterday, I was able to select a book in Framemaker, go to File > Print Book, and then have Adobe PDF be the Printer option in the menu. Now, that option is gone and the only PDF option generates very slowly till it eventually hangs at 50% and fails. What happened? What can I do to fix this? I just updated my Framemaker 20 to the latest version but I am still facing this issue. See image for more context  

Hi All. I'm using FramemMaker 16 and publishing topics directly from Frame to Responsive HTML. This seems like a very basic question, but isn't really answered clearly in the Adobe help. Will DHTML Effects (Drop-Down Caption & Body) work when publishing directly from Frame to Responsive HTML? If so, what are the steps/settings to make this work - over and above what's stated in the help (apply the effect to the para).Thanks 🙂

In Framemaker 2020 (16.0.2.916), when I generate an HTML help CHM file and have a Map file (.h) in the book directory, the .h file is generated and it pulls the Map numbers from the file correctly, but the file name is set to the repeated book name (bookbook.h) instead of  (book.h). If I don't have a map file in the directory, it creates the .h file with the correct name, but, of course, without the correct Map numbers from the now missing .h file. The same source files work fine in FM 2017 and in FM 2019, but not in FM 2020. I can't find any references to this in the forums. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Can I launch FrameMaker and a specified document with a Windows command line call? If so, what is the syntax? Thank you.

Hi,we have some documents where the existing structure is flawed (and no big help in the first place). Migrating to unstructured FM helps even out the problems, but by simply opening the documents in unstructured FM, all cross references are lost.Is there a way, perhaps by means of a tool, to replace all cross refs with normal unstructured cross refs before migrating? The target elements have unique IDs, so these could be used to create markers for the links. Robert
