I tried to create a DITA topic using FM12, but I kept getting the following error:I also tried to set the DITA Options by choosing DITA > DITA Options. Can someone show me which structure application to map?Thanks,--Peggy

Until yesterday everything worked properly.I try to work with FrameMaker.  It says that I'm not connected but my Adobe account is active.What can I do?Michel S

I just purchased Adobe Technical Communication Suite, the subscription version. I am now trying to download the program, but I can't find any download link. When I open the Tech Comm Suite while signed in (as it says to do on Adobe's downloading instructions), I receive a message stating "We are still processing your order." Is this just a matter of waiting until my order is processed, then I will be able to download the program? Or is there something else I need to do?

I am using fm 7.0 - I know this is a very old version however at this point there is no way I can upgrade. I have several documents booked (over 100). Each of these documents are very graphic intensive. When I select Book - find/change - in the find character dialogue box under the color there is every RGB color listed. When this has happened in the past there was 1 document in the book that was causing the problem. That is not the case this time. I have double checked each and every document in the book. They all have the standard colors. I really do not want to have to delete the book and reset it up because that would take LOTS of time with them amount of files that I have, however I am willing to do that if that will solve the problem.

I recently updated the designs of some templates used in our FM books. I created a sample manual using the new templates to test it out. When updating the book, I get the following errors. I have fixed errors before, but I've never seen these ones.

Can you upgrade directly from Framemaker version 8 to version 12?

FM8 opens in Win 7 OK, but hangs whenever I left click and hold to try and do a copy of text. Company won't upgrade. Any ideas?

When I click on an existing hyperlink and launch the Hyperlink dialog, I can make whatever changes I want, but regardless of whether I make changes or not, when I click "Ok" I get an error beep.  The only way to get of the dialog is the press Cancel and the only way to modify the hyperlink is to do it manually in the HTML view, which I have other problems with (the spacing is odd so I can't see all the characters around the cursor.  It's pretty miserable.) What's going on? I thought maybe it was something related to not checking out all the files for the directory, maybe something associated with the files wasn't writeable, but most recently I decided to test it by checking out all the files, recursively, and it still didn't work.Thoughts?-m

When you do an internet search for something (Google, etc.), the links in the search results open to the first page of the PDF file. Is there anything that can be added to the FrameMaker file that will allow the links in the search results to open to a specific page in a PDF?

Running FMv12 on Win7.Both sets of icons are trying to show. However, Toolbars are cut off so only left several icons show, and remaining toolbar is blank all the way to right side of program window. Toolbar separators are shown all the way across, but segments are empty.At same time, Tools Palette, docked to left side of screen, shows dual set of icons also, but they are jumbled. That is, they are not neatly arranged in two columns, and color or grey set is trying to display on top of the other, slightly offset. As if trying to display two sets of two columns, but overlapped.* All above display correctly when FM first starts. Then, when User hovers something to use it, before he clicks, the screen changes as if tooltip timing, going to fail mode described above.  Recovery requires restarting FM.Also, document zoom, and other controls at bottom, are invisible until mouse hover. Hi,When I save an FM12 file as HTML, it inserts <a> anchor tags which I need to clean manually when I re-use the HTML. Is there any way of producing clean HTML I can use in Zendesk articles?Thanks.

I want to connect unstructured FrameMaker with Sharepoint. In Choose Connection, I select Sharepoint. Name is SP. As Server I have tried all possible options. There may be something wrong with the address but I can't figure out what it may be. As we have not yet implemented Sharepoint to the entire company, we - as key users - are playing a bit in a sandbox. Which DMS (PLM) options work well with FrameMaker 11 and 12? Our current system handles version 10 well for checking book structures (hierarchies) in and out and maintaining version control. However, the system is not up-to-date to handle the latest versions for FM. We have users on version 11 & 12 that cannot store complex files. All of our work is done in unstructured. Moving to structured authoring won't completely solve our dilemma, as most of our content is not ideal for structured format (primarily graphics, spreadsheet tables etc). We author manufacturing content (service manuals and parts manuals).I welcome any suggestions and would love to hear what people are using.

Now that my Trial period is over  of Adobe XI Pro, I cannot use my old Acrobat reader, nor open any of my .pdf files!!!!!!!!!!!Need fix.  Reloading Acrobat reader does not seem to fix this issue.

Can anyone tell me if I can upgrade my FM 11 license for PC to FM 12 for MAC?  Or do I need to buy all new software license.

Hello -I have been trying to either update a TOC or remove it and add one and when I do, I get the following error"Couldn't update this book because it contains no openable, non-generated files"Can someone help? Trying to get this file out for review and I am stumped. I have always had production support and am now a one woman stop:)

Anticipating the worst when Tech Support show up with a new laptop [theoretically] equipped with FM12 and whatever CSS is called these days … what's a quick and easy test to make sure they've followed the advice I passed on to them about installing FM without clobbering Acrobat Pro? Is it possible to change table shading percentages? ATM there is 3, 10, 20, 50% etc. but I need to set a 20% tint

I have a document that is 70 mm wide. In the footer, I want page numbers on the far right or left, respectively. It looks great in my other documents that are 80 mm wide. How do I change the tab in the 70 mm wide document?FrameMaker v. 10

I am unsuccessfully trying to place a graphic (EPS photo with clipping path) with the following conditions:1. Part of the graphic is outside the column and part is inside the column.2. Text should run around the portion inside the column.3. The graphic should move with the text.I can place the graphic in an anchored frame set to Outside Column or Outside Text Frame, and move it around to the correct position, but runaround will not work. Or, I can click in the page margin and import the graphic (background graphic?) without an anchored frame, and runaround works-- but then the graphic does not move with the text.Does anyone know if what I want to do is possible or how to make it happen? I even tried creating a very small graphic in an anchored frame at the end of a paragraph,  and then tried to group it with the background graphic, but they can't be grouped.
