How can I shift "single line below page" to right in the Advanced tab of frame maker? Please check the attachment.

My numbering auto start from page 9 in Adobe Frame Maker, How to make it continue. I am using FM 2022 version. I did format> document>numbering> continue from previous chapter, select auto number in paragraph designer, but nothing happended. Please guide. I sharing the screenshot.

Hey! I'm wondering which font family is best and professional for Documentation in Adobe Frame Maker.

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered the problem that I have an Adobe Technical Communication Suite subscription and Adobe has again asked me to sign in to my Adobe account. Since then, Adobe FrameMaker 2019 and Adobe RoboHelp Classic 2019 will NOT START, but Adobe RoboHelp 2019 or FrameMaker 2022 and RoboHelp will start. As a test, I installed the TechCommunicationSuite_8_0 package on a Windows 10 machine with a fresh install, but the situation is the same RoboHelp 2019 starts, but FrameMaker 2019 and RoboHelp Classic 2019 do NOT.

I bought a perpetual license for Framemaker 12 back in 2014. I need to use it on a new computer. I signed out/deactivated it on my old computer but can't get the serial number to take. I contacted Adobe support, who confirmed that I do have a valid license and gave me instructions for offline acctivation. My problem is that step 2 says "click Having Trouble Connecting To The Internet" but I have seen no such link or similar. So I'm stuck at a screen that says my serial number is already in use by the maximum allowed computers, which can't be true because I already logged out of Framemaker on my old machine. Any ideas how to fix this?

I have a document with some user variables with product names. I want the text in the variable to be bold. So I have created a character tag which is called Bold and which bolds text no matter what size or color. The character tag I have inserted in the definition of the variable like this: ... and works perfectly fine when publishing to print. Publishing to HTML5, however, gives me this: FrameMaker can't figure out how to handle the Bold tag and uses the print font settings and not the web font settings I have defined in the css when publishing to HTML5. It seems like a bug to me. Can anybody help?  

I am updating an existing document that was created long ago by someone who is longer with our company. The previous author/editor knew even less about FrameMaker than I do.  The single document is not part of a .book file and it contains what appears to be a generated TOC on its own (again, self-contained) pages 2 and 3.  I HAVE found Insert > Table of Contents > Create Standalone TOC, but can't find a way to effectively edit or revise the setup of the already-existing, self-contained table of contents.  While experimenting with Markers and Paragraph Formats, I accidentally made one important TOC entry disappear, which makes me think this TOC that I'm trying to repair/update IS dynamic/updatable, and not just dead text that someone typed manually. I have also tried to delete a TOC entry that displays only a page number but no other text (included image). Hi, I have a number of anchored frames throughout a book that are oddly sized. I would like to create an automatic script that resizes them to the graphic, but I'm having some trouble. After piecing together other posts I am currently working with: var doc = app.ActiveDoc; var graphic = doc.FirstGraphicInDoc; while( graphic.ObjectValid( ) ) { if( graphic.constructor.name == "AFrame" ) { AFrame.Height = graphic.Height + (2 * 65535); } graphic = graphic.NextGraphicInDoc; } But when I run the script nothing happens. I've checked the console and there are no errors, so I assume I have something incorrect here. The FM scripting guides I've found don't seem to cover anything graphic related. Any assistance is appreciated!

I have a client who regularly sends documents to translation. When the documents are returned the user variables tend to be translated inconsistently with former translations. So there is a need to somehow gain control of the user variables and have a list which can be generated and checked and - preferrably - somehow be communicated to the translation agency, so they can assure consistency. I am unsure how to proceed with this challenge in orderly manner. It seems I am not able to generate a list of variables which would have been nice. What would you do?

When I exit Frame Maker, my saved image in doc is deleted automatically in Adobe Frame Maker. This happens when I exit Adobe frame maker and change the location of saved images on my computer file. Even if I delete images from local, it is deleted in Adobe frame Maker document. Please suggest how to resolve this?

Hello, Is there likely to be a Mac install of Framemaker coming in the near future? Please don't suggest virtualisation; I'm aware Windows may be run in a VM on Mac, but that is not a solution that works for me. There are all sorts of issues on that road; not to mention the added expense of Windows. Seems obvious that a mac version would be available for all the TCS apps, I'm wondering why not and when/if the situation will be corrected? Thanks

Hello,I have :1) chapter 1 with 4 pages2) chapter 2 with 2 pages I would like to begin the page numbering from the first page of chapter 1, but I don't want to display the page number on page 1. How to do this ?

The page header usually picks up the first heading on a page, but there's a disconnect if the topic from the previous page bleeds to the top of the page you want the header (doesn't reflect what you're reading).

Hi, Seems PDF/A-1b files from FM are not compliant PDF/A-1b when testing in Acrobat. Tested with a simple lorem ipsum FM doc with an image. Report "xmp property not predefined and no extension schema". Anyone else being able to replicate this? Best regards.Mats

Hi @Barb Binder  Here i m wiriting a long story regards to create Albhabetcial index, i used Elements & paragraphs(alphabtical index). With this i am able to get all the titles and subtitles as the output,  My requirement is to bring some of different subtitles and not all the subtitles which is inside the manual, and also want to know that how to cut short the big title to short one. ExampleBatter - Check as BatteryWhen a battery is run down  as Battery How to couple this words which is in different page numbers. Basically i want to know hw to create sandard index, Please reply me with the training material link if its existing already.. it will be great helpful to me. @Adobe experts please support..  

For FM 2017.This is the screenshot of error log. I am not sure how it happened. What could be possible reasons of getting such error? I have not manually moved any DITAVAL file. Not sure if that is moved automatically.

Since upgrading FrameMaker from 15 to 17.0, I have had an intermittent problem when using FrameMaker's File > Save as PDF function. Imported EPS and PDF graphics look fine in FrameMaker, but when the FM file is saved as a PDF, the graphics are shifted upward & out of the frame. This does not happen w/ raster files, or when I use the File > Print to PDF function.This has never been an issue before, so I'm guessing it has something to do w/ the upgrade. Examples below:

In my case it will never be the first element. I need the rule to apply to the first instance of the ActivitySection within the Activities element. Is there a way to achieve this?
