FrameMaker

Hi, I had to create an ExtendScript function to duplicate a paragraph format for a client script. I decided to wrap the function in a free script. Here is the dialog box:   I know you can duplicate a format using the Paragraph Designer, but I thought this might be useful if you are roughing out a new template and want to quickly add formats by duplicating existing ones.   There is a download link on my web site store. We are experimenting with insets so we can have multiple copies of a document in the same book. One of our parts pages has a parts list table split into 2 columns undeneath a graphic in an anchored frame. To make the 2 columns we use Format>Customize Layout>Split Text Frame.  When I import this original document via the inset panel, the parts list table is placed as one column that flows onto the following page. How can I get this table to be 2 columns like the original file? I have tried splitting the text frame but that doesn't work. I've changed object properties to 2 columns, but that doesn't work either.

Hello everyone. The product I am working on currently, I use Framemaker 10 for it and to generate a CSH(context sensitive help), I generate the html output using Webworks 2012 (since it is compatible with FM 10.) A recent problem I faced is the anchored frames in the documentation with more than 1 images together isn't coming up as it is in the output. When I genertae a pdf the output is intact, with images placed properly as in the source documentation, however when it is in webworks output, it only takes single image and discards the other images in the same anchored frame. I am not sure if this is anything to do with Framemaker settings or Webworks settings. If anyone has faced any similar issue, I am looking for guidance and some help here. Thanks,Madhushree

The command line code example below needs to span 2 lines to fit the page but the line originally does not break and should not break. It needs to be one single command line. The document is not structured so we do not use elements. The code example is simply contained in a table cell. Is there a way to force or prevent the command line string from breaking as the customer often cuts/pastes the code into their editor and has to edit it manually? Amidst the bookmars of an FM book level 1 marks are not in order: Those marked by { should be below the yellow area. The PDF setup is the same in all chapters and in the book. I have checked and generated 3 times  by Save as PDF. Any ideas where to look for the reason of this?

Some information is available only by extracting it from a source by means of command-line programs. I wanted to get meta information (number of pages, etc.) out of PDF files. This can be done with xpdfinfo.exe (http://www.xpdfreader.com/).  I am working in a file that has multiple output versions in it using conditional tags, including multiple tags being applied to the same blocks of text. I am getting a little annoyed with the display and processing of graphics in FM 2022 and decided to do a more systematic test. So this is the display of a selection of imported graphics in FM2022: As can be seen the original graphic - which is transparant and resides in the middle of a square bounding box, is diplayed with a white background in all iterations exept png. Jpg files do not support transparancy, so that display is correct. All the others are varying degrees of incorrect with the svg version taking the prize. Above is what comes out when distilled and saved as print pdf. As can be seen SVG is completely wrong and so is the PNG. The file formats and standards I have used in this test are the most common file formats in the graphics industry and I would expect both preview and rendering to work. In this test it only jpg which truly works in both preview and pdf.      

Dear team, I don't know what happened in backend from last two days the bookmarks are not coming after saving as pdf in framemaker.. Attached pdf set up and final output of pdf..  Kindly clarify me what might have happened in backend..

I am finding that my PDF output does not include a bookmark for the table of contents generated from a DITA map.If you think this is a good idea, you can vote for it at the Adobe Tracker site (tracker.adobe.com).I have submitted a bug to Adobe: FRMAKER-9769

I'm working with a two-page LOT file. The master pages are defined as First and Last. On the First master page I have a title, "List Of Tables", with the paragraph tag "Heading 1 for Lists". I defined a Running H/F 12 variable as  "<$paratext[Heading 1 for Lists]>". I inserted the Running H/F 12 variable into the footer on the Last master page. I made sure that the corresponding body page is using the "Last" master page. However, the Running H/F does not appear on the body page. I'm not having this problem with any of my other files. What am I missing? Any and all suggestions/solutions very much appreciated.

Hello,In FM, when I save as PDF, FM export the FM file to a PDF, but it create also an HTML log file.How to have only the exported PDF (without the HTML log file) ?

Hello,I am trying to do a link to external document, that is not in the book structure.I am able to do a link to website, but I am not able to open pdf or html file, that is saved in my PC.Let´s say that I want to do two links (italic blue text), that can be found by the path below on the photo. How could I do that please?And is there some way how to insert a relative path to a document just in case, that the other user save the destinated files to a different folder? Thank you very much. Adam 

I sent FM files to someone for edits, but Imges inserted to it are asking for location. Is there a option by which I can sent a complete FM files to someone where there is no image's location issue.

Referring to How to detect disconnected pages: I have a problem interpreting the term "disconnected page". I have a 6 page document On page 4 I set Format > Customise Layout > Disconnect Next Pages 1 - 4 are in Flow A, same for pages 5 and 6. The two areas ar disconnected: Now I run a script derived from Rick's (ZIP on my website, script is  in subDir Demos ) It reports pages 1, 2, 3, 4 as disconnected. Yes, they are disconnected from the rest. ► IMHO I do not get a direct information, on which page I  have to fix the conncection (4). I am publishing a book to HTML5. It contains several sections (chapters) each is a separate fm document within the book.I have set the HTML5 mappings to split into topics based on style Heading1 which gives me a new HTML page for each Heading1 - which is great.I have also set the paragraph style 'ChapterHeading' to also split into topics - this is a higher level heading than Heading1 and appears once at the start of each chapter (ie. each separate fm document in the book).This appears to create two higher levels in the TOC in the HTML document - see the attached example.Why is it adding two levels?The only settings I can find which control topic splitting in the HTML5 output are:Style Mapping > {Paragraph Style} > Split into topics based on this style (which I have set as above) andStyle Mapping > General Settings > Split into topics using marker - this is unchecked.I am using a modified version of the 'Theme3_Black" HTML5 template from the framemaker 2022/Robohelp template

Hello all,I´m trying to find the solution how to change publishing settings to generate and save .pdf file directly to the chosen Output Folder.  Now it automatically creates new folder 01_HLAVA1 in the Output Folder: Then sub-folder PDF: And then finally I can find .pdf file. Do you have any suggestions how to solve this? Thank you. Adam  

I have some graphics in my FrameMaker document which need to fit the width of the page.When I export the document to HTML5 they seem to be fixed to exactly 642.52pxI would like them to be 800px wide however there doesn't seem to be anywhere to set this.I looked in the Publish Settings > Edit > Style Mapping > Image Setttings and alsoPublish Settings > Edit > Style Mapping > General Settingsbut there seems to be no way to adjust the pixel value of the 'full-width' HTML output.Is there any way to do this other than manually editing the <object width="xxxx"> tag in the HTML?
