After solving the issue reported by https://community.adobe.com/t5/framemaker-discussions/we-can-t-verify-your-subscription-status/td-p/13476822 I decided to de-install Acrobat DC Reader, because I stated that I anyway most time need to use Acrobat 2017 Standard, which I also have installed. However, since the removal of the cloud App Acrobat DC it was not possible to open Acrobat by double click on the PDF file. All links found to cure this problem propose the following : Choose any PDF file. Right click on it and choose properties Under properties on General tab you will see open with and on the right there is a Change button. Clicking on the change button you will now have the capability to choose on which application will you use to open the PDF files. Choose Adobe Acrobat xxx on the list, then click OK. Greeting to the FM community users, Does Framemaker 16 have a feature to automatically resize images on a page to avoid blank spaces?I am currently working on a FM document that has a large number of images, to be delivered as a PDF.I would like to use the largest size of images that fit on the default left/right portrait layout page. However, the document also has text and tables, which often creates the blanks spaces as seen in the attached screenshot.Trying to manually adjust the size of the image is taking a lot of time and slowing down the authoring process. I can already foresee that any additional text or images will need readjustment of image size to fill the white spaces.Is there a feature that I could use to guide me about automatically fitting the image in the page as per the available white space? Thanks in advance for your help and suggestion,Regards,Apurva   

I am fairly new to framemaker 15, was using version 7 for years. How do you change the way the fonts are displayed? On 7.1 I could view all of the fonts on 1 page. If I go to format - font it only shows in in 1 row in alphabetical order so if I need a font starting with T I need to scroll down or type the letter. Is there a way to view it all on 1 page?

    Since the end of 2022 i get the following message when starting FM 16 or 17: We can't verify your subscription status. We can't reach the Adobe servers. This may be because you're not connected to the internet. Check your connection and try again below. If you're still having issues, please see our connectivity troubleshooting guide. Of course I’m connected and i could download and install 17.0.1.305 with no problems. This is on  win 10, fully patched. I have not fiddled around with my Adobe account (otherwise I could not write this) - so what may be the cause of this? Since i have a perpetual license for FM-15 - which is ma work horse - I’m only unable to be a beta tester…

I was using framemaker 7.1 and now have version 15. Have TONS of files that need to be updated. Is there any way to do it in bulk instead of opening each file and saving each one?

I am using FM2020, structured, DITA.I have tables in two different DITA files that share some, but not all rows. I have successfully used CONREF to share the rows for "standard-format" rows, but something is not working if there is a merged cell. In particular, if the first <entry> in a row has a morerows attribute (e.g. morerows = 1). As the heading says - is there a script/utility which will allow a user to collect the fonts used in a document? I remember that there once was a script - or perhaps it was a plugin - which would do the trick? Bjørn

 I have the Technical communication suite where I use Framemaker (which I purchased myself and apparently access through Adobe Console). But I also have access to Adobe cloud through my school, which is apparently a separate login. So the problem is I can't use Framemaker and Cloud apps at the same time, which is a real headache. Is there any way to unify the two accounts so that I have access to both at the same time? thanks, paul

We recently brought on a new designer; he started off with Windows 11 and FM 17, I'm still on Windows 10 and FM 16 (soon to upgrade). I had the new designer save as FM 2020 format so I can also work on the files, but now when I'm trying to resize images within picture frames they snap big-time (like to the point of exceeding the edges of the picture frames). So no dragging corners to exactly the size I want, it just pulls to whatever snap point it's looking for. How do I turn this off so I can resize to exactly the size I want?

Hello,Since I upgraded to FrameMaker 2019, when I Publish to PDF, my file sizes are about 3x larger than when I used Save as PDF in FrameMaker 2015. My workaround is to print to post script, then distill to PDF. Small file, good graphics. I read in another post to generate the PDF then optimize the PDF but I found the graphics quality suffered too much. I have read other posts on this topic but it seems that when I edit the STS file to change settings, and when I change settings for PDF Printer instance, the file size doesn't change. I am not sure if the Publish engine references the PDF Printer settings or not. I am not sure if this is related, but when I installed FM2019, I had to manually copy some resource files to get my Welcome screen to work. Are there resources files related to pointing to the correct STS file perhaps? Thanks!

I can't seem to save any edits to my reference pages.I have the online subscription and the latest version of FrameMaker Structured installed and can compile pdfs just fine but when I try to add icons to the reference page it doesn't take.Any help appreciated,Thanks,Myko

HI everyone,This is my first post in Framemaker Community as I am moving from RH to FM.I have an issue with respect to importing word documents to Framemaker.After I have import a word to doc to FM multiple tab stops are created.Now, although I remove the tab stops manually once, If I place my mouse in the next line , the tab stops are seen again.Is there any shortcut wherein I can remove tab stops at one go after I import a word document in Framemaker.Thanks in advance.Regards,Parag

Hi Everyone,I like to ask you about how FrameMaker handles a process instruction. As you can the following xml source file, there is a PI: <?oxy_comment_start> and <?oxy_comment_end> inside <p> tag. Then, after opening this xml file in FM, you can see the following screenshot. There is a unnecessary line break in an unordered list. Can you tell me how I can remove this inappropriate line break, or how I can make FM not manage specific PI tag and not display PI in both FM editing view and PDF output? For your information, I'm using FM 2019 and there are Korean and English texts in this xml file.

I'm writing a report to a new document in comma delimited text.  I can select all the text (Ctrl-A) and use FrameMaker's Convert Text to Table dialogue to create the desired table.  However, was wondering if there's a way to convert text to table in extendscript.  I've checked all available posts going back to 2009 and can't seem to find anything.  BTW, Happy New Year to everyone!

I have never worked with context sensitive help. I added some topics OK. But now I have one that will not link to the correct place from the software. It just links to the top of the Help file. I was told by a previous writer that I should not use the generated H file, but to manually edit the H file that was handed over to me and then replace the generated one in the same location. I am not sure why.In the Frame file, I added a marker of  Type TopicAlias and Marker Text CSH_AmqpClient. At first, I was put in AMQPClient (maybe with an underscore), but the developer told me it was case sensitive AmqpClient, no underscore, no dash, or anything. So I fixed that, but it still does not work.But we are also looking at the CSH Javascript file in the whxdata folder and the marker is not being generated in that file. I have no idea why. Any brilliant suggestions?

Verify the connector installation and configuration.However, I found the adobe help guide (https://help.adobe.com/en_US/framemaker/using/using-framemaker/user-guide/frm_connector_cn-cms-setup-config-documentum-connector.html) to Setup and configure the Documentum connector.And, I followed the step by step instruction, in that adobe is instructed to download DFS SDK from EMC Community Network.But the given EMC Community Network link is dead and I cannot proceed further.So, could you please guide me to connect Sharepoint Online repository to my Adobe FM.I have attached the screenshot for your due consideration.Thanks in advance for your support.Regards,Amrish

Good day all... I hope everyone is well!I hope to receive comments/direction to resolve this issue that has appeared since I began using FM2020... from FM2015 (or since attempting to use the Adobe PDF printer).The image below (left side... image of FM2020 doc) correctly displays the thumbnail white pages in the first column... but the image on the right side (output to PDF)... does not display white pages in the first column. That's the issue!I get the same result whether I "publish" (from the pod), "save as PDF", or "print the book"... and even with different print job settings.I suspect this has something to do with using the Adobe PDF printer... as historically... we used a printer that didn't support colour... and we'd simply enable Spot Color As Black/White in the Print Document dialog box.I am looking forward to your comments... all the best to all!    

I tried to run the installer on Windows 11 ARM today, but it failed immediately saying the installer was corrupted. Any ideas on where I might find a log file that explains this?

What I mean is this: let's say I design a product that has empty text and picture frames, and I want to set up a form on a web site so clients can enter text (up to a set chartacter count) and maybe a logo graphic. Is there a way to set it up so Framemaker can pull that text into the text box and graphic into the picture box automatically? Or is there some sort of script I would need? Thanks.
