Illustrator on the iPad

Hi, I do a ton of type styling and use Warp Effects all the time. The iPad version is just not useful to me without this ability. Any plans to release? Thanks! 

Is there a gap detection option in the adobe illustrator app? I often use the shape builder tool on my desktop and play with the gap detection options. Trying to create organic shapes within my drawings that I can fill with gradients on the new illustrator app. 

This app is brilliant. Only setback I'm having is when I go to export the image I can't change the exported DPI/PPI which results in poor resolution of the image. I've looked through every setting and option available and can't figure out how to change it. Any ideas?

Please consider to add in smooth tool in Adobe illustrator for iPad same as the desktop version. It's very inconvenient to adjust the smoothness by selecting the points one by one and adjust the handles. I do understand that the current pencil tool smoothness is adjustable, but the lines are not flexible enough as the smoothness increases. It will be much more efficient to draw with brush tool and refine the lines with smooth tool. Thank you in advance!

I have created an AI file on desktop with Pantone colours. When I open up the file in Illustrator for iPad they have not come across as a Pantone colour swatch in the swatches panel.Is it only possible to add swatches from within Illustrator for iPad itself?Any advice appreciated

Hello,  I can't find a way to export only a selection, not the whole document.  Also is ther ea way to copy a selection and paste into another program like adobe xd, adobe comp or something else?  Thank you in advance!    {Renamed by MOD}

So I'm creating a logo. I have used "Envelope Distort" to "Make With Top Object" text into an ellipse shape. All went well and I made a letter M look like an Owl. Yay for me. However, upon revisions I needed to turn my shapes into line art. and now my graphic looks like a bunch of over lapping lines and circles. OK I can use the shape builder tool to omit lines and convert shapes to each other to hide them great... But the original type that I converted into a shape and distorted is now unmanagable. The shape that my text has become isn't something I am able to alter or edit. I would like to cut away a portion of the shape but it is un editable(if thats a word). I can explain better perhaps but thats my issue. See file below.I would like to cut away the top of the "M" that intersect with the eyes of my owl but as you can see that area isn't something I can change at this point or is it? 

Illustrator on the iPad has been working out great. One feature that I need is the ability to warp text. Specifically being able to vertically arch collegiate text. I know I can do it on the desktop and export it but I wondered if anyone knows of an iPad application that can warp text?? Is there a ruler view, can you use the guidelines in ipad like the desktop version. 

I'm super new to illustrator and am just using it to make my own wedding invites, etc.  I will be the first to admit I have no idea how to do what I'm doing efficiently, but I had my invitation almost completely finalized when I went back into the project tonight. However, when I opened the project and tried to zoom in, I don't know, maybe I clicked something, but half of my text just randomly disappeared/became invisible.  I checked all my fonts, and they're still downloaded to my device.  I checked my layers, and the text is still there, just invisible...When I try to add new text in and change the font, the program won't let me do that either. It's bizarre. I clicked through my other projects and now they're all doing the same thing, which makes me think I must have inadvertently changed some setting and can't figure out how to change it back. I deleted and re-downloaded the app hoping to reset it...didn't work. I have no idea what I did. Please help! I included some

Hi, I am a long time (AI 3.0) user of Illustrator, and a huge fan of  its core toolkit. My work depends on the precision AI allows.A lot of this functionality is gathered to the option key: drawing shapes of a specific size, transformations of a specied angle or size, etc.  I was excited to finally have an iPad version of AI, and have been trying to use it. But over and over again, I cannot find this core functionality. How do I draw shapes of a specified size or rotate by a specific angle at a specific anchor point, etc? 

I can log into my creative cloud student account on my Ipad Pro but whenever I try to log into Illustrator it says that I have to contact my IT-Adminstrator to gain access to Adobe Illustrator on Ipad.Does anybody have a solution to this?

Hi,I have created an artwork on my iPad illustrator,exported as png,saved it on iPad,try to save pdf, but doesn't seem to show anywhere on my iPad except inside illustrator.cant download it from cloud either. Does anyone know how to export file to your iPad  file folder,or photoes folder so can be used elsewhere?Im getting quiet frustrated,as I would like to use my work,but seems I can only open it in illustrator.

Does anyone know how to make straight lines, like if I want a completely horizontal line with the pen tool?If not, that feature would definitely be on my wish list!

Is there a way to select multiple paths without a keyboard? Obviously I can draw a box to select multi-or paths but if I have a path under it I may not want to select that so the box select is not good for everything. I don't want to move the paths...I use pathfinder in my workflow and well I am unsure what to do. Seems like it be something very simple like using Apple Pencil in one hand and holding down with the other but that doesn't seem to work. If there is an answer I'd love to hear. Thanks!

Anyone know if you can "combine" paths and then use the segment tool as a path like you can on the desktop? Love being able to work mobile but a tad concerned that two "combined" paths are still two paths and not one when I select the segment tool..not sure if I like that feature and rather it be like it is on the desktop where if I take two conjoining paths and convert to one it becomes a single path (not two) paths..will this be changed or is this the new direction for Adobe?  Let me know your thoughts. Love it otherwise on iPad Pro 4th gen...but I'd have to get used to this in my workflow....unless it's a feature they just haven't addressed yet fully. 

Hi Illustrator genius'!  I'm a complete newbie here so please bear with me but I've scoured the internet and just can't find the answer to my question... I am trying to create an SVG cut file of a 2 layered drawing I have created in Procreate (which can't generate SVG filetypes) so... I have imported the layers into Illustrator on my iPad as PNG files but they are showing as objects under a layer, rather than their own layers - hope that makes sense?! - and if I try to move them I get an error stating "Can't move non-layer object to the top". Hopefully the screenshot helps explain. Any ideas on how to split these two images into layers? Any help greatly appreciated 🙂 Thanks so much! 

 Probably a dumb question since it's my first time using any adobe software.. but I can't seem to find out how to remove these guide boxes hovering over my design. They are in the same individual layer as the lines of the design which makes me think they can't be removed without removing artwork as well? I would appreciate any help because I am as stuck as stuck gets

The mobile Illustrator app on my iPad won’t unload to creative cloud the artwork I create with the illustrator app on my iPad. After uploading an illustrator file created on the ipad to creative cloud all the artboards upload blank. None of the photos or drawing are uploaded to the creative cloud folder from the illustrator app on my ipad.  But, artwork and photos I create in the version of illustrator on my desktop iMac is uploaded to creative cloud from my iMac. But, if I  work on the illustrator files uploaded to creative cloud from my iMac with my ipad, none of the additions or changes I make to the ilustrator file on my ipad will be saved back to the creative cloud. The files will continue to appears as they came from my iMac with none of the changes made on my ipad with the mobile illustrator app.  Is this issue fixable?

Yes! So glad it's finally here! I've been experimenting with the new app for part of today, and feels pretty good already. Some nice new features as well as a lot of the recognisable stuff. Am I right in thinking there are very limited brushes at the moment? I'd like to use the Artistic brushes that I use on the desktop version, but can't see them, or see how to load them. Maybe list below other stuff that you...a.) can't find (someone else might have)b.) have found and want to tell others (information is king!)c.) want to be added.

Hi everyone -    I was drawing on my ipad with my apple pencil and after a while noticed that all my lines are outlined in another color. Is there a certain type of brush that does this or something that I can toggle on or off.   Can't figure out how to disable this function.    Thanks!  

Has anyone found a rotate option yet? I haven't found one for desktop either but was hoping that it would at least be added to the tablet addition other than flipping my tablet around and around as I work. ----

I can't find it anywhere.
