Hi there, this is my first post here.I have a late 2017 Retina 5K iMac (Intel-based) running Mac OS Ventura and I'm having a hard time working on InDesign: it crashes quite constantly while I'm working on it. I've noticed it happens everytime I try to click and drag a page (to make a copy or delete it, for example), but other random actions also trigger this bug. I've tried looking up online to find out if someone else is having the same issues, but I couldn't find anything. It's been happening since the launch of the 2025 version of InDesign and I always keep it updated.Here are the specs of my iMac:3,4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5Radeon Pro 570 4 GB32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 RAMRunning Mac OS Ventura 13.7.2 Thanks in advance!

Hi there - I am after some urgent help please! I have been copying / pasting text form a large report into my InDesign and formatting it as I go - it's a complex layout, so haven't pasted all the text in and flowed it as I go. However, the client has sent a new Word doc with loads of changes and I don't want to have to copy and paste it all in again. Is there a way I can import the entire new word doc into my Indesign doc and track the changes or apply them to my formatted text? Thank you!

I've had Adobe CC installed on an M3 Max Mac Book Pro for about 4 months. For the most part it's been issue-free. Starting yesterday, I began experiencing a 2-4 second lag between typing characters in an active text box and seeing those characters appear. Same for inserting a cursor in a paragraph, or selecting a text box or pulling down a menu.   I've tried removing the prefs and have even un-installed and re-installed InDesign, yet the problem persists. I've seen some comments about this problem from a few years back; possibly growing pains when Apple switched to Apple Silicon. Could this be an M3-related problem?  Up until yesterday, Oct 14, 2024, I had no typing lag or any kind of lag. I run a plain system with Adobe CC, wacom driver, MS office and Articulate Storyline.  Thank you for any suggestions!     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello everyone, we're experiencing a recurring issue with broken links in our InDesign documents stored on our shared network drives. The problem typically arises when a file is updated on one platform and then opened on another. For example, if a Mac user updates a file and then a Windows user accesses it, the links break, and vice versa. Any suggestions on how to resolve this cross-platform linking issue?

Hi, can anyone help, when I export my newsletter to a PDF, most of the pictures not all appear black, I have checked the links and they appear to be all working, has anyone else had this issue. My colleage managed to sign in and export it and it worked fine on her computer. 

Hello, I'm looking for a specific script that would create a fluid gradient change in thickness in a typeface, for example per line or per page? I would like to achieve the “wave”association, would anyone be so kind as share it with me? I know it exists since I used to have it. 

Hallo zusammen, ich nutze OS 14.7 und iD 19.5.1 seit längerer Zeit. Eines Tage fing es an, dass im Bedienfeld Absatz plötzlich keine Werte mehr zu sehen waren und auch manuell nicht einzugeben waren. Manchmal wird das Bedienfeld auch komplett grau ohne Inhalt angezeigt. Jetzt erscheint dieses Phänomen seit Neuestem auch beim Bedienfeld "Zeichen". Zustzlich tritt neuerdings noch der Fehler auf, dass man bei manuellem hoch und runterklicken beispielsweise im Prozentfeld oder Schriftgrößenfeld nur runterskaliert. Diese Fehler sind einfach so aufgetreten, keine Updates, keine Drittanbieter-Funktionen etc.  Die gesamte CC hat vollen Festplattenzugriff, alle Berechtigungen.  Auf eine neuere Version zu Updaten hat zwar diese Fehler beseitigt, führt allerdings zu den bekannten Tiff-fehlern. Es treibt mich absolut in den Wahnsinn.  Ich nutze indesign seit der ersten Stunde, aber ich hatte noch nie so schreckliche Probleme wie seit dem ABO-Online-Zwang. Ha

Our InDesign files have been, apparently, deleting themselves. We're working in a Windows SMB server environment shared with 6 designers using Macs and InDesign 2024. This started happening in mid-October when we noticed about a quarter of our .indd files were randomly missing on our server. Some were new, many (most?) were not. It is only .indd files. Nothing else. We thought it was a one-time event and proceeded to restore the missing files...only for those, plus more, to go missing over the next few weeks. At this point, I'd say 90% or more of our InDesign files are just gone. At least we have online backups (a pain to access) and pdf copies (difficult to edit), but this is getting seriously frustrating. I contacted Adobe support and they said they couldn't help because it's a server environment. We've been using InDesign for at least 12 years this way and have NEVER had this sort of problem with it. But I'm guessing it does have something to do with the ser

Hello Adobe InDesign Community, In InDesign I would like to be able to adjust all the Text Frame boxes in the document at one time. Example: if I have ten Text Frame boxes on ten different pages 200px wide. Can I change all at once to 300px without having to change individually on each page? Can I link Text Frame box size from page to page? Is there a script for this or code to link text frames? Thanks, Kevin

Hi.I'm struggling to understand how to use my (work-related) files after the changes Adobe has made. For a long time, all my files have been on an external SSD in the Creative Cloud Files folder and the other day when I tried to open an Indesign document from the CC folder I got a message that it's not possible to open the file. See attached screenshot. Can/should I continue working with the files from this local folder or should I handle it in some other way?

I wanted to report a persistent issue still present in the latest version of InDesign. The background task panel progress indicator for PDF export often remains inactive and does not show any progress for an extended period. Interestingly, this issue resolves itself immediately if the user toggles the "Preflight" feature on and then off again. This bug has been present for several years, and addressing it would greatly enhance the user experience during PDF exports.

I'm having trouble being able to move objects (photos, text, etc) around a document with the selection tool. I have done a LOT of searching in forums and google, and can't find anything that applies that I haven't just tried. If I restart my COMPUTER, then open indesign right afterward, I'm able to freely move photos and text around a document. Later (length of time varies) it will just stop working. Theres no pattern that would suggest why it stops. Just restarting Indesign itself doesn't do anything. I've tried trashing the preferences. My objects and layers are not locked. I read something about master pages, but this has just been in single page files. I'm on a windows laptop. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi All Started to rebuild a new index for the next edtition of a 500 page manual I used the existing INDEX template and found it difficult and confusing to remove all the redundant markers etc   This worked a treat - cleaned everything with no ghost markers to be found   Step 1. Open your whole book click on find/change under "find what" click on the @symbol click on markers --> then index marker leave change to: blank under search, search "all documents" Then "change all"   Step 2. (can you believe it?) remove unused topics from index menu check reference and book highlight (click on) any indexed topic go to top right menu and "remove unused topics"   Tah DAH - all index markers are deleted and your old index is clean ready to rebuild Whew!! you're welcome      All this SHOULD be an ID single click menu option. WHY? For all of us who rebuild indexes for the same book/manual/document requiring all old/dead/deleted (but not deleted)

How do I get email addresses to link within InDesign just as hyperlinks are able to link URLs?

Whenever I want to export something from InDesign the quality takes a massive dip and this is not what I want. How can I fix this? I export in High Quality, 300 dpi but still shows me alot of pixels. All Images are linked.

En la captura de pantalla adjunta, se puede observar que en la ventana de preferencias, el espacio vertical y horizontal de la hoja está marcado en cero, pero el archivo coloca espacios verticales con medidas totalmente aleatorias en cada hoja.  ¿Es este comportamiento un error de programa, una configuración errónea, o el archivo se corrompió? Gracias. 

I was wondering, now that MacOS 15 has gotten released, are there any known issues with InDesign like we had with the last MacOS Sonoma update? Adobe hasn’t updated the system requirements yet to incllude Sequoia in the list, but they are not the fastest any more, also like we have learned last time.    I know, I’m not going to update to MacOS 15 right away anyways, cause I only have one working Mac nowadays, so I’ll wait for at least 15.1 maybe. Hi there!I'm having an issue after exporting pdfs from InDesign, where the fonts in my pdf look a bit wonky (for lack of a better word lol). I'm not sure if this is setting in InDesign or Acrobat. A screenshot is below. I feel like some lines look like different fonts - it should all be the same. It looks fine when I print it and also view it in InDesign, it is only happening in the PDF.  Computer specs: Macbook Pro M1 16GB ramOS: Sequoia 15.3.1 (24D70)Adobe InDesign 2025 version 20.2Acrobat version 24.5.20421.0 Exporting a pdf using the pre-made "high quality print" option in InDesign.  Thank you in advance!!!

Hello,Trying to create a label setup where I have 8 labels per sheet, two columns. I am trying get this numbering sequence to work, and cannot figure it out. The columns are cut in half as labels come of the roll.  In the end I would have two rolls.Sheet one numbers: 1    92   103   114   12Sheet two numbers: 5  136  147   158  16 currently its 1-8 on sheet one, 9016 sheet two.Any ideas?Thanks in advance. 

Je n'arrive plus à ouvrir mon fichier enregistré sur Creative Cloud. Même celui enregistré sur mon ordinateur ne veut plus s'ouvrir. Si je tente de récupérer le fichier, l'application se ferme.  HELP ME!!!

Ich bekomme folgende Fehlermeldung (im Anhang), wenn ich eine "alte" Datei öffne. Die "alte" Datei ist allerdings 2 Wochen alt und die Bilder wurden zuvor in einem Printmagazin von mir reingezeichnet und korrekt produziert – wie ich es seit über 7 Jahren tue. Es handelt sich bei der Meldung nicht um ein Bild oder zwei. Bei ALLEN bekomme ich die Meldung sie wären fehlerhaft und ich sollte sie umspeichern und neu laden! Wenn ich über "Anzeige" - "Anzeigeleistung" - "normale Anzeige" auswähle, werden mir die Bilder zumindest verpixelt angezeigt. Möchte ich aber die hohe Anzeige auswählen, kommt die Meldung zurück und ich kann buchstäblich nicht mehr im Programm weiterarbeiten, da das Pop-Up für JEDES einzelne Bild im Magazin aufpoppt. Wenn ich die 65 mal auf "ok" klicke, wird mir nur ein weißer Frame ohne Inhalt angezeigt.  Wurde hier beim Update eine Einstellung nicht übernommen an die ich gerade nicht denke oder wie kann ich diesen Fehler beheben? Danke im Voraus!
