InDesign

Using the current Indesign. I set up a template for adding  text, and the text overflows so that I need to add a new page.  For some reason add page is reversed.  When I set it to add page after, it adds the page before the current page, and when I select add page before, it places the new page after.  Any suggestions on where to fix this? In my Indesign document I see that some links are used for a third time. But doesn't have pagenumber where I can find/see the actual picture. I can't replace that picture for something else. Also I can't approach the picture. So it almost looks like some sort of ghost-link.Is there a way to clean the Indesign-file?

Anyone else here not seeing InDesign 2025 (v20) available to install? We have a large team of users (all on Apple M2 Max running Ventura 13.7) and none are seeing it. Our admin has made several attempts to resolve this but there seems to be a language barrier as their answer is only that they support 2 versions back. No mention of why its not available.  I suspect its just not released for the enterprise channel...? 

Hi All, I have a book file with 67 files. When I first ran Export to reflowable epub, all the Frontmatter breaks worked. I had to make some changes within the book (other chapters) and now, although the paragraph styles have the Split box checked -- it isn't working. I've spent hours on this to no avail. I tried going back to the original print version and setting it up for epub -- but same issues -- nothing worked. This is only on the Frontmatter. The rest of the book breaks as it should. Same Paragraph Styles. I've created many ebooks and never had this problem before. I checked back with my previous epub files and copied, again, what I did before -- no good. All my tools, except Text tool, are locked (greyed out) - what have I done?I've uninstalled and reinstalled without luck... 

I have a work related InDesign document that is required to save all comments and responses made. My method of recieving these comments is done by creating a shareable link and having my shareholders place their comments through creative cloud. This is the method that I need to be using but I can't find any way to save and archive these comments. Attached is a photo of the review thread that I would like to save. I've always wished InDesign included native scaling and measuring like Corel Draw does. Here's an example:In Corel Draw its easy to change your scale using this drawing scale window. That then allows you to measure things within your document according to the scale. The measure tool actually places measurements as well. Its a really handy feature that I've never seen in InDesign, or any Adobe publishing / vector graphics editing program. I'm wondering if something like this will ever be available in an Adobe product?

Hi,   I have a file that fails to export to pdf. It says an error on page 14 made it fail, I export up to page 13 fine. I then delete page 14 and try to export only for it to fail again on the new blank page 14. I then delete that page and suddenly page 13 (which was fine before) is not what causes it to fail?     <Title renamed by MOD>

How do I import just one Photoshop artboard into Indesign? ... whenever I import, they all come and I have to manually adjust them

Hello.   I am attempting to generate an interactive PDF in InDesign that would have drop down menus with three (3) values; 1, 2 and 3. The numbers would each have an assigned color to them, ie 1 = yellow, 2 = orange and 3 = red. So when the user selected the number two from the drop down menu, it would display yellow but it a number 3 was selected, it would display as red. Is this possible?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hey, everybody!I'm preparing a booklet for printing. The booklet has a photo of a girl in PSD format with transparent background. I have added this image as a link in the layout on top of a brown coloured frame, I want the girl's hand to be on top of the frame. But when I export the PDF for printing (PDF/X-1a:2001), the part of the frame that is covered by the girl's hand becomes white. I'm using the latest version of InDesign. Why is this happening? Had to erase my hard disk and reinstall Creative Cloud. I need to InDesign CC 2018 because that's what my team is still using, but when I looked for older versions of InDesign to install, all I see are 2017 and 2015 versions. Is there a link to Indesign CC 2018?

I am using a macbook air (m3) with mac OS 14.6 and InDesign 2025.    I have laid out a long novel as a ID 'book'. It has 6 separate .indd files for the six sections of the book and one .indb file that stiches them all together as a book. The book has been edited and now I want to make a clean copy of the whole thing to a new folder and do the editorial corrections in that new version. That way, I will have the original pre-edit book and a new seperate edited book.   I tried just copying all seven files to a new folder, and giving them all new file names, but found that when I double-clicked the new .indb file, the book panel showed all the old names and any correction I made, were being made to the old files in the old folder.   How can I make a clean copy of the whole book, so I can keep the pre-edit and post-edit versions separate?     <Title renamed by MOD>

I'm not pleased with EPUBs created by exporting from InDesign. My justified text comes out ragged right. And when I switch from Roman to italic or boldface type the type gets scrunched.   I haven't taken a coding class in over 20-25 years and I haven't done any coding work in that time as print book design has kept me occupied. So my question is: Is there a book--I much prefer book tutorials than videos--that provides in depth, step-by-step instruction on how to refine these EPUBs to maintain much more of the polished look of the InDesign files?   Thank you.   Steve Tiano     <Title renamed by MOD>

Italic type and boldface type gets scrunched (especially when there is punctuation) when I export to EPUB from InDesign. Any fixes that don't involve going under the hood into CSS and coding?   Thank you.   <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi. I don't know if this is possible, but I need to design 100x individual wedding bingo cards. I've been given 45 phrases and my customer wants me to randomise the phrases across the 100 cards so that they are all different. They've asked for a specific design for the background of the bingo cards, with some text and colours specific to their wedding. I have an Indesign template ready to input the text but I don't really want to do this 100 times. Does anyone know if this is possible, even if it's not in Indesign but another programme? Thanks 

I can't install the trial because my computer doesn't meet requirements. I can't start the trial, so can I use the trial later after I upgrade my computer or is this it? Is there a way to cancel the trial so I can actually use it later?     <Title renamed by MOD>
