Buenas,Estoy teniendo problemas a la hora de insertar imágenes en mi documento de indesign. Tengo un texto escrito de un color azul vibrante y cuando intento insertar imágenes en png, o tiff con transparencia cambia el color de dicho texto a un azul más apagado. Los perfiles de color tanto de la foto como del documento de indesign son ambos sRGB por lo que no entiendo el porqué del cambio en la tonalidad del texto ya que en teoría no se está aplicando ninguna conversión del perfil de color.Además aparecen líneas horizontales en la imagen insertada.

I tried the new text-to-image function to generate some backgrounds in my design. Now I opened the file on another computer and had to realize, that InDesign saved the files to the local "Documents" folder on my machine. Is that intended behaviour?I think it should have embedded them or at least save it to a subfolder near my .indd file. I could not find any options to change that behaviour. Am I missing something? If I have to move them manually every time I create an image, I will definitely sometimes forget ...

This is a newbie kind of question. I'm just trying to dab into Object Styles but I have not found the expected InDesign documentation with regards to this feature? Sorry for the French UI but this what I'm using : All I want is to "store" the width and height of an existing picture frame to apply to other picture frames in my page. But as soon as I apply the style to any of the frames I'm trying to change the size of, the placed image gets "resized", proportionaly? I don't want the scale of the contained images to change. All I want to do is to change the size of the picture frames themselves.   But I guess this is not a job for Object styles?I know how to do this without using Object Styles. Guten Tag liebes Adobe Team,ich habe mir letztens einen neuen Laptop gekauft und möchte mich nun mit Adobe anmelden und mir die entsprechenden Programme herunterladen die ich für meine Arbeit benötige. Ich bin Grafik Designerin und meine Arbeitgeber möchten von mir, dass ich InDesign Version 18 also die version von 2023 nutze. There must be a way! Why on earth can I only find an option to 'unlock all on spread' rather than just a single item? What sense does it make to take this away? I can't be the only one with multiple locked items in a document only wanting to unlock ONE! If you wanted everything unlocked all you have to do is 'Select All' and then 'Unlock'... why did that need it's own command and to replace the simpler version? What a huge, time-consuming PITA to have to reselect the numerous items and re-lock them! I hope someone can tell me I'm wrong and that the single unlock is buried somewhere else... if not, maybe someone can explain the rationale for taking it away...

I have to create alot of swatches, and I need to include the cmyk values. Right now, I copy and paste from the swtach panel. Is there a script that can automatically pull this information and place it below each swatch?see example  Thanks in advance  Steve

Is there a way to extract HEX, RGB and CMYK colour codes quickly instead of copying and pasting each individually? Is there a way to select the colour and for Adobe to provide the codes at once? I have a large number of colours I need to do this for in a brand guidelines document I have created for a client. Thank you in advance 🙂

My computer is not compatible with the latest version of indesign and I cannot find the older version to install it. Please help, I need it for school it is URGENT ! 

Hello. I'm working on a school textbook that has a vocabulary section in each lesson. I'd like to format each item on the list to have the definitions be separated with a hyphen but with the rest of the lines of the body text aligned separately from the vocabulary term. To do this, my initial plan is to set the first line indent to a negative value up until the hyphen character. However, since the terms have varying lengths, it would be impossible to define one style for it, unless I ignore that and just do everything manually. Unless, there is a possible way to do it? If so, may I please ask how it is done?

Hi Hive-mind,   Some background: We use version numbers with two decimal places in artwork filenames. For instance, "Sample_v0.01.indd". When packaging these files, the Create Package Folder cuts off the version number.   It used to be that I could package a file in InDesign and simply click on the filename in the Create Package Folder and it would create a packaged folder with that name, including the decimal number. It even used to know to add the suffix "Folder".    Now when I do that, the folder is also named with the filetype (.indd), doesn't add the suffix, "Folder", and gives the following error.    Even if I edit the name, it will still add the filetype:   Yes, I can type the same filename in the field. That works, but some of the files have long names, and it's a PIA. Not sure if there's a fix, or if it has to do with the combination of MacOS version/InDesign version. Also, these are all local files, no server-based files.    MacOS: Sequoi

Hello,   I'm working to an In Design file not made by me. It shows a fixed green line (like a green frame) to the bottom but I'm unable to select it. It seems a fixed element but I don't understand how to change it. Any suggestions? Thanks      <Title renamed by MOD>

I made an interactive PDF form that has buttons to switch between metric and imperial measurements by turning the text boxes with the units (such as inches or mm) into buttons next to the fillable fields. I have Imperial measurement units set to show unless the metric button is clicked. Metric units I have set as hidden until activated by the metric button. I have an imperial button as well to make it switchable.   It works fine on screen, however if I try to print it without selecting imperial or metric on the form first, both will show. I'm trying to understand why the buttons marked "hide until activated" are showing when printed. If you click one of the buttons it will show correctly when printed. I tried making the unit button on top (imperial) with a white fill hoping that would help but it didn't. It still worked the same. Hopefully my question makes sense. Any ideas?     <Title renamed by MOD>

I have a script in InDesign, it essentially taken a selection of objects, groups them, creates crop marks, puts these on a temp document which resizes to the content and gives a dialog for PDF export options, finally returning to the original document.    When the colour profile doesn't match, the paste operation of the script triggers the profile mismatch dialog. I wonder if there is a way of supressing or ignoring this, or changing the values for this specific instance and returning them after the script finishes?    Thanks!    <Title renamed by MOD>    

Hello everyone,I'm handling a document where I need to manage a Table of figures. Since it's quite a technical document, the captions are sometimes a bit long. I'd like to include in the ToF only a part of them. For example: "Figure 1: General envelope. The blablablalbla": I'd like to have only "Figure 1: General envelope" in the ToF.  My first idea was to use two paragraph styles (let's say Figures and FiguresNOTOF) and use the former in the ToF, but I can't help having a line break in the caption, which should be avoided.  I browsed some discussions here but I couldn't find the best way to achieve this.What's the best strategy here? Thank you!  

I am trying to copy one page out of Document A to Document B. Both documents, AFAIK, share the same page sizes? Yet when I activate the Page > Move page command, after selecting my options and pressing the OK button, I get this warning  (French UI):   In essence, it's telling me that InDesign refuses to move the page to Document B because the page "format" is different from Document A. I wish that command would let the poor user know what page format attribute is different? It's not enough to reject the user needs without offering any kind of help. Have a heart, Mr Adobe! FWIW, both documents are single page, Letter size with zero margins and no bleeds. I could have 1) Select All, 2) Copy , 3) Paste the content into an empty Document B page manualy. I know. Hi,I have a problem which was resolved before, but the solution previously used doesn't work anymore for whatever reason.I have a Google Sheet with multiple hyperlinks per cell (see attached screenshot). I have to copy and paste the words with the related hyperlink in a table in Indesign (see attached). Hyperlinks are not automatically pasted from Google Sheets to Indesign. In the past I used to copy every single cell in Microsoft Words and copy the words with the links from there to Indesign. This solution worked and allowed me to copy both text and hyperlinks. This solution doesn't seem to work anymore. I have tried to download the Sheet as an .xlsl file. If I open the .xlsl file with Numbers (I am on a Mac), the whole cell only retains the first hyperlink, so all words copied into Indesign are subsequently all linked to the same hyperlink within a cell. If I open the file with Microsoft Excel for web, it copies the words but not the hyperlinks.I am at a loss, it is a 50 pa

I have a list of Topics for the Index. I'm updating a book from a couple years ago with additional content. This includes new mentions of exisisting topics, but I've also added a couple more Topics to the Topic list. When generating the Index, whether replacing the existing Index or adding a brand new Index from scatch; the page numbers of existing references update, but no new references are added.   For instance, "Term A" is a Topic previously referenced and listed in the Index. Previously, it was only mentioned on page 280. That original mention is now on page 288 as new content pushed it down a few pages. The change from 280 to 288 DOES update in the Index after regenerating; but there are two completely new references to that same term on different pages that were not present before are not showing in the Index after regenerating.    Similarly, "Term Z" was only now added to the Topic list. It is not showing at all after generating the Index. I have literally copied

Hi, I've been having a problem lately when saving interactive pdfs with renders from keyshot. The renders are saved as pngs, and ive tried a bunch of different settings on both keyshot and InDesign. When saved as any other type of pdf, it looks fine but I need to save them as interactive for work.  If anyone has any suggestions for settings or solutions, that would be much appreciated!   Ive Attached screenshots of the images in the pdf. The white fixture is the blurry one in interactive pdf and the black fixture is a print pdf.     <Title renamed by MOD>

Can someone tell me how I supply a double page spread map to KDP please? When I worked in house we used to split the map with 3mm either side of the gutter so we didnt lose parts of the map when printing. I've done this but KDP is not happy with the file. Its the only double page spread in the book and it doesn't bleed off the outside edges. Thanks. 

Dear community or Adobe staff, after updating to Indesign 2025 yesterday, I've noticed the following with individual table modifications: If I create a table and would like to customize e.g. some of its horizontal lines, I therefore select the relevant areas in the table itself and then select the horizontal lines to be modified in the control bar (the grid-scheme in the upper horizontal control bar). Previously, I was able to edit modifications for a certain selected area again and again – Indesign remembered the area and I was able to change e.g. line thicknesses, colours etc. as required as often as I wanted.Now this grid scheme behaves quite strangely: Sometimes it activates all lines in a table , sometimes it activates the outer lines or other times it activates a vertical line … but never the part that I edited before and I that I want to change.As this is quite difficult to describe in words only, I have made a screencast.
