InDesign

I frequently create brochures, and at some point in the project without fail the share for review link stops allowing me to update content. The review links are an integral part of our workflow, and for my non-brochure work they are fine (although I have to update those less frequently), but with my brochure documents it will allow me to create a new link, but after that I can no longer publish any changes. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling InDesign, turned off and on countless times, ensured the document I’m updating is the only one open, packaged then opened the idml and re-saved the document to indd. It just doesn’t work, and it’s really frustrating to explain to our clients that their comments have gone because we had to make a new link (or they get confused, comment on an old link and we don’t make the updates). Any ideas?

I’m doing a simple Indesign data merge with multiple record layout to place 8 name tags per page (using Avery Template 5390).I have a single design on the page (with 3 variable text fields). It won't create multiple records per page - it keeps putting one name tag on each page.I’ve done Data Merge > Create Merged Document > Multiple Records per Page. When I select “Preview Multiple Record Layout” it populates the first name tag but shows no additional name tags. When I click “Ok” to merge, it creates one name tag per page, not the 8 name tags per page that I need to work with the Avery template. Screenshot below. I’ve spent hours on this trying just about everything (including placing the design elements on a Master page). Hoping someone can help!!

I have all updates for the apps installed. When using indesign--where i constantly use the libraries--it freezes constantly and I have to quit indd & restart it for it to come back. all other parts of the program work fine. it's only the libraries that freezes.

When I open the file (I’ve also tried other files, including newly created ones), I sometimes experience white flashes when zooming or moving placed objects; sometimes entire text frames disappear when zooming, or the zoom takes about 2 seconds. These errors occur regardless of whether GPU performance is enabled or disabled.Various monitors have already been connected and tested, as well as different ports (HDMI or DisplayPort).InDesign's display performance has already been tested using the “Typical,” “Fast,” and “High Quality” settings. I’ve had this problem for years, and no update fixes it. Sometimes, the font activation process just keeps spinning indefinitely. It’s really annoying to see that wheel spinning all the time. It even happens with fonts I’m not using or don’t even want to activate. The worst part is that there’s no "X" to stop the process.Is there a solution?Thanks in advance.

The last couple months I’ve been experiencing what I can only describe like lag issues in redrawing my layout. Reminds me using Quark a million years ago.If I change a font size, the layout doesn’t show the change unless I click off the text box.When scrolling or moving the page I get large grey geometric shapes or blank spaces or colorful glitchy lines.I’ve turned off GPU performance but it doesn’t matter.Anyone else seeing this?MacBook Pro M4Max 48GB RAM

I’ve cleared preferences through library, and when starting indesign.It has several bugs randomly appearing. eg. Suddenly can’t undo, takes ages to quit, there’s a slight delay importing images...

When I try to export to PDF and select “Output” on the export screen, InDesign lags for half a minute before displaying the output options. Is this behavior normal? Could it be due to corrupted color profiles? This has been happening to me for several versions now; it is not exclusive to InDesign 2026... It can’t be a hardware issue, because I’m working on a Mac Studio with an M2 Ultra and 64 GB of RAM.

I have a document which is full of imported tables that have the basic indesign style applied to them, I want to somehow select all of the tables at once, apply a different table style to them, and clear any overrides, does anyone know of a script or other quick way to do this? 

How can I remove the Override shortcut? (CMD + SHIFT + CLICK) I want to change this shortcut and can't find it

I was attempting to do some basic tasks with Flex Layout in InDesign PC. After about a half-dozen things were tried InDesign completely froze, the process had to be stopped and the program re-launched. This is 100% repeatable behavior, whether with an existing file open or with a new file open. Everything else with ID is fine, just whenever I try to use Flex.I can work around this by never using it (I never did before), but since there’s a risk of document corruption when I force-close I.D. I’m wondering what’s going on.

However, InDesign can be complex for casual users who only need to create simple marketing or communication materials. This creates an opportunity for Adobe to develop a new, simplified publishing platform that serves users who need more design flexibility than Word provides but do not require the full range of InDesign’s professional features.

App freezes every time I want to replace/overwrite a PDF…

it works perfeclty if i just apply an exsiting style, the moment I want to create my own style pack this message appears, when i click it away, it will come back like 5 times then indesign crashes, I have updated indesign but still the same issue, any ideas ?   <Title renamed by moderator>

Since yesterday I am no longer able to update CC.I get "Encountered Issues in updating Creative Cloud. Error Code 190”.Same Windows PC that I have used with CC since 2020.I am able to update InDesign, though.Does anyone else have that problem ?

I am not using a table and there is only one column (fixed number) per text box. There are two columns and three rows of text boxes, and it is unclear whether the text inside is trying to align (top / bottom) to the other text boxes. What is clear is that the text is not centered the way I need it to be. Text appears to maintain its position within the text box when the text box is moved.

When scaling or repositioning objects contained within a group, the object should snap to other objects within that group (when smart guides are enabled). This includes images within frames. EG, if you want to resize an image within a frame to the edge of the frame, this won’t work if the frame is part of a group. This was originally posted on UserVoice in July 2019 and commented on by Ravi Kiran from the Adobe InDesign team in July 2019. This issue remains in 2026.

CS6 Aktiverung nicht möglichWir besitzen Adobe CS6, welche jetzt auf einem neuen Rechner installiert werden soll, da der vorherige defekt / nicht mehr existent ist. Diese Aktivierung schlägt mit dem Hinweis fehl, dass die Seriennummer bereits aktiviert ist.Der Support teilte mir mit, dass für CS6 keine Aktivierung mehr möglich ist, da die entsprechenden Servern von Adobe abgeschaltet wurden und wir bitte ein Abo abschliessen sollen!Was soll das Ganze? Wir haben eine Dauerlizenz (für viel Geld) erworben, welche wir auch dauerhaft und ohne Einschränkungen nutzen können.Wie sieht dies Lösung hierfür aus?Falls Abobe wirklich Kunden durch die Hintertür untersagt, wäre das praktisch Betrug und ein Fall für eine Strafanzeige.Sorry für meinen Unmut. 

InDesign 2026 (version 21.6.0.57) hangs for 80–175 seconds on every launch and then either crashes or has to be force-quit. This happens consistently, on every attempt.What I've already tried (none fixed it):Full uninstall via Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool + clean reinstall (updated from 21.5.1.73 to 21.6.0.57 in the process) Deleted InDesign preferences and cache (~/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign, ~/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign) Fully removed Wacom tablet drivers and rebooted Validated all fonts in Font Book — no issues found Disabled Adobe Fonts / Creative Cloud font sync in preferences — no changeDiagnosis: I captured a macOS hang report (stackshot) during the freeze. Hey, When I try to link a spreadsheet with an inDesign document using the Data merge -> Select Data Source function and selecting a CSV file exported from an excel spreadsheet, I get the following error message: "The data source file you selected either has no records or is not a supported file format. Please fix the file, select a file that contains records, or select a supported file format."I have looked at the other troubleshooting threads, and none of them solved the issue. 

I've followed all the suggestions made by the virtual assistant and other AI, but my InDesign still freezes whenever I place an image. Any image, large or small, png or jpeg. I have reset all preferences and checked RAM and CPU - all good. 

I am not able to save to my FileServers ​​​​​​after updating to InDesign 21.5.1.I am boring on an iMac with OS 26.6.2. When I try save the file locally it’s OK.On the server a file is placed but it’s empty 0Kb.I have tried on different servers with the same problem.
