Hello, Lightroom Classic *keeps* crashing on my Windows laptop (Asus Vivobook Pro 15) , several times each session. I am never prompted with a crash report dialogue box, but have run the script in the command line to allegedly ensure that happens. It's either in Library or Develop mode - sometimes the fan is loud before the crash, but more often than not it isn't. No work is lost, e.g. my latest edit will show upon opening, but it won't open at exactly the same photo, it will be the right collection or import though. A few high level specs, which show it's not a low-spec machine: Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 185H 2.50 GHz 40.0 GB (39.4 GB usable) [I upgraded to this, as thought it might have been the problem] 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Windows 11 Home 24H2 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8Gb [more sytem settings below] When it first started months ago, someone kindly suggested I turned-off face recognition in the backgrou
I have a similar problem to some, but in the last 4 weeks or so, Lightroom CC and Camera Raw 9.8 is only inputting 3/4 of my files. If I go out and shoot 100 pictures and input them 75ish import and 25ish do not. I shoot a Nikon D7100 and shoot only raw. I have re-formatted my SD card. Here is the weird thing, I used to use Adobe Elements 13 so I tried Nikon Transfer 2 and it transferred all the pictures where Lightroom only transfers about 3/4 of them. If I then go into Lightroom and try to import some of the files that were "unreadable" about half will be fine while the other half Lightroom can not open. Here are the files unsaved the total shoot was 144 shots 114 transferred fineThe following files were not imported because they could not be read or the destination folder is not writable. When creating a smart collection, if you tell it to find all searchable text containing all, and then you put duplicate words, it does not work. For example, I am an avid birder, and I sort all the bird photographs by their scientific names. One of the birds name is "pica pica" which I note in one of the metadata fields. Lightroom pulls in every photo with the single word pica no matter how I enter it (with or without quotes, with or without plus signs). It does not search for text containing pica space pica. Can this be fixed?
Hi there, I have RAW files in one folder and JPEG files in a different folder - these are exported photos with the same name as their RAW versions. I want to keep ONLY those RAW files that were exported as JPEG. How can I only select those RAW files that match the name of the exported JPEGs? I understand that I should've flagged the images in Lightroom library and delete/keep them after exporting. However, I simply selected a few dozens out of hundreds of raw photos without tagging or flagging them. It's either too difficult or too simple to do. I hope my explanation makes sense and I would really appreciate some help. Arthur
I am using lightroom in Windows 11 machine, everytime I open the lightroom it ask me to to sync with the adobe cloud, I can't turn it off so it is only poused till next time that I open the lightroom and it ask again. It has become a nuisance. Any solution?
When importing, if in the import dialogue box, the Develop Settings is set to None, files will be imported but metadata as displayed on the images becomes erratic as does the pick selection flag. Also, in Library>Metadata>Preset, a busy circle just keeps turning. This does not occur if a preset is chosen in Develop Settings. All is good on reboot. Nothing seems be lost. LR Classic 14.3.1 and PS 26.6.1 on MacOS, but I doubt this is OS specific. I have merged raw files to create a 32 bit HDR DNG file in Lightroom Classic that I would like to convert to an 8 bit JPG image while in Lightroom. I can do this if I run the image through Photoshop:With HDR edit mode selected for the HDR file in the Lightroom Classic Develop Module, I can right click on the image and open in Photoshop, with the image opening as an RGB/32 bit file. If I then select Image Menu / Mode / 8 bits/channel, then Photoshop gives me a an HDR Toning dialog box where I can control the mapping of the 32 bit HDR to 8 bit. Does this functionality exist in Lightroom Classic? I haven't found any way to export to an 8 bit JPG via the HDR Toning dialog in LRC. But I may be missing something! It would be more straight forward to be able to do this without exporting to PS first, but when I export the HDR to JPG from LRC, I only get a default rendering of the J
Hi, since upgrading to Lightroom 14.3 i have found that my CPU is overheating on imports of more than 200 images. These are Nikon RAW files from a D500 and D850 . Has anyone else experienced similar? As part of the import i apply lens corrections automatically. I have found that that after about 200 images the CPU goes beyond 100C and shuts down to protect itself. This has never happened before. PC specs: Windows 10 Pro, 22H2. AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, GeForce GT 1030, 16GB RAM, over 300 GB free on SSD system drive. Yes i know it is an old PC and my plan is to downgrade to Windows 11 later this year. But I am trying to squeeze the last amount of use from the present box until it is repurposed as Ubuntu server I would just to know if anyone else has seen a similar phenomenon since 14.3? I plan to stop the automatic application of lens corrections to see if that helps. Otherwise I will have to accelerate my pl
Hello, new to posting here. Wondering if anyone else is having issues with external drives becoming corrupt while using LRC? Wondering how to prevent it from happening again (and losing hours and hours of work ....again.....)In Jan 2025 purchased new laptop HP Spectre x360 and WD external hard drive with the primary purpose being able to use external hard drive to access lightroom catalogue from both my laptop and Dell desktop. Both HP Spectre and WD had positive reviews in adobe community chats. Initially worked well then WD external drive became corrupted, and all data lost (this happened after using Lightroom classic and photo shop). WD drive was sent out to professionals who were unable to recover data. Through Adobe support I was able to recover some work through a (not very current) lightroom catalogue back up on my desk top hard drive. Purchased new Seagate external drive and with help from Adobe support was able to get ‘up and running’ again. Was working well
I need space on my HD and need to move my previews in Lightroom Classic to a external HD or convert them to smart previews for space. My pictures are downloading to the external drive now.
I have edited some images in the lightroom app, but I want to finish editing it on lightroom desktop. I can only get the original RAW file from my mobile device but without any of the changes I already did. Is there a way to export with settings from lightroom mobile?

In the people page, a name misspelled with fist letter as lower case, cannot be changed to initial capital letter. How to reproduce:1) Pick an unnamed face and spell it with only lower case leters and press return. The face now is shown under "named people" with only lower case letters.2) Change the name so that it starts with upper case letters.Expected result:* The name should change it's initial letters to capital letters.Actual result:* The same misspelling is still present.

Good afternoon! App store is saying LRC has an update but creative cloud has already done the update. How do I clear this? There's only one LRC in the applications folder.
Hello, on Win 10 i have stretched my Lightroom Classic (current version) across 1,5 monitors (of a total of three), with the photo grid filling all of of one big monitor and the right panel bar filling part of the monitor to the right (see sketch below, perhaps it's relevant?). Then i assigned keywords, titles and other metadata to thousands of pics. I worked in a folder, not a collection. Images were sorted by filename (not creation date). Before, I had ordered and then renamed the pics in Bridge. Then i closed Bridge before importing and tagging in Lightroom Classic. The catalogue settings were always set to "save metadata immediately to XMP" (not only to database). Now i find that in Lightroom, all metadata has been assigned not to the pics selected, but to pics a few slots down the line. Say metadata for selected pic 313 went into pic 316, which was not selected. Practically all metadata is off by a few slots. I never saw an icon for outdated metadata status - metadata is repor
AI Denoise makes removed objects appear. How to reproduce:1) Remove a part of an image using remove tool (AI or legacy)2) Open the AI Denoise dialog.Expected result: The removed object should remain removed even in the denoise dialog.Actual Result: In the preview box, the removed detail is now back (See images).
Hi,I have a focus stack of 40 files in lightroom Classic and after selecting them all I select "open as layers in Photoshop". This opens the photoshop program but it just opens and sits at the home tab and does nothing. Im on a M1 macbook air with updated OS I also have the latest Camera raw, PS and LRC installed, after my failed attempts I deleted are re-installed PS and LRC, this still hasn't solved my problem, I have also reset my preferences on PS. I kind of a new user to PS and LRC So any help would be appreciated. I have noted that people have found solutions to this problem in the past bt that was several years ago.
I'm using Lightroom Classic on Windows 11.I upgraded my hard drive but didn't think about needing to backup my Lightroom catalogs. I have over 20k photos cataloged on my old hard drive. How can I access my old hard drive now, without harming it, so I can open Lightroom and backup the catalogs? My hard drive is a NVMe M.2 and I have a USB enclosure that I can plug the drive externally into my computer.
Custom shortcut doesn't work after last update.I'm working with thousands of photos, and this is not funny right now. I wondered if you could help me or send me to someone in the technical arena or to articles on the web. My question relates to the AI features in Lightroom. Specifically, I would like to learn in a very general way how these LR features actually work. Very specifically, I need to know which LR tools create new pixels vs somehow altering my own pixels. Our Club along with the PSA & many others do not allow editing that introduces “new pixels” into the image files submitted for competitions. I want to have a good understanding of the subject in order to formulate reasonable “rules”. It is very difficult to know where to draw the line. I have found a list of LR tools that “use AI” but this is not clear enough. Clearly, the Remove Tool with Generative Fill adds new pixels. But how about the White Balance & Dehaze sliders? Here is an example: When the hue, saturation or luminance is changed using the color picker, what happens? Are my pixel
