Lightroom Classic

Just purchased the photograph plan and installed the creative clouds in the Windows. I got this error message when trying to open the lightroom:    "Sorry, Lightroom Classic has encountered an error and needs to close. You will not be able to use Lightroom Classic at this time. Please contact customer support and use the reference code 205 for more information on how to resolve this issue."   I only subscribed Lightroom in the mobile phone before, and I really have no idea how to resolve the issue.     [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]  

Using Lightroom Classic, because of issues with my old one, I created a new catalog for my pictures.  Is it possible to import and “attach” all my “collections” from my old catalog to the images in the new one?

Since updates, ALT CLick in Windows or Option Click in Mac on MASKING works perefectly and as expected showing clear changes as the slider is moved. BUT on DETAIL there is no contrast and it is almost impossible to see any change moving the slider. The image appears gray with maybe a hint of white. Was previously VERY useful and showed changes with incremental movement of the slider. This is new in the last or previous to last update. And iis the same in both Mac and Windows.

In my current Lightroom Classic Catalog, I have photoshoots from 2025 I've been editing. Using the AI masks has been fine up until recently. Now, whether it's a recent photoshoot, or a photoshoot from earlier this year, when I click on a photo that has had a mask applied to it (subject, background, etc), I get a red dot under the mask icon at the top, and a warning message that says "Some AI masks need to be updated. Click to update all." I will click to update, but then later on, I might come back to the same image and the same things happens. I have to repeat the process all over again. It is also happening with the Remove tool. It will say "some remove settings need to be updated". After an import or a move of files on the hard drive sometimes Lightroom flashes that it wasn't able to process some photos or videos. As most people I don't go through all of the files right then and click the OK button. Where is the history of these errors for when I do have the time to look at them?

Lightroom Classic 14.2.  Camera Raw 17.2 MacBook Pro M3 Max 64GB Sequoia 15.3.1   Just getting to grips with Smart Collections.  It is mostly intuitive, but I am having problems with keywords that contain spaces and numbers.    As succinctly as I can...  I have images from two shoots that I want to put into separate smart collections.   There are 430 images from the first shoot and these have been have tagged with the keyword 2019 03 CORNWALL (PENZANCE). There are 176 images in the second shoot and these have been tagged with the keyword 2019 09 CORNWALL (PENZANCE).   I created a smart filter for the first shoot, MATCH ALL, KEYWORDS, CONTAINS ALL, 2019 03 CORNWALL (PENZANCE). However, it returns all photos from both shoots (606 images in total), ie the smart filter is picking up images from both shoots.   Meanwhile if I create a filter for the second shoot MATCH ALL, KEYWORDS, CONTAINS ALL, 2019 09 CORNWALL (PENZANCE) it correctly returns

In LR Classic, Ver 14.2, running on Mac Mini Sequoia 15.3.2, in the Develop Module, when clicking on the remove tool:   My color photo turns to B & W and light and dark areas in it are all reversed (Normally light areas become the dark areas).  See the screen grab: 

I am a longtime user of both LRC and PS.  I am setting up a new laptop and have downloaded the latest versions of both softwares on the new laptop, LRC 14.3 and PS 26.6.  LRC will not allow me to set my Photoshop version, it is greyed out in Preferences, external Editing.  If I don't run Photoshop, It shows nothing, If I run PS it gives the message "detected that Adobe Photoshop 2025 is running" but will not let me select a version.I have uninstalled, reinstalled, both software in different order.  I've tried to install older verions of the software and still not allowing me to set this up.  I've read numerious post on similar situations and have tried most of them but still not working.The only other potential issue is my last laptop was a Surface Laptop running the intel chip and the new on is the Surface Laptop 7 running the Snapdragon X 12-core ARM chip, and Windows 11.  Adobe says Lightroom and Photoshop work with the ARM chip but not other Adobe soft

Editing folder names is a constant challenge.  Is Adobe ever going to address this?  It's not a permission issue as it eventually works (sometimes restarting Lr, sometimes waiting a few hours, nothing consistent).   It's a huge inconvenience and renaming all the folders in Explorer, relinking them, etc., is a huge waste of time. Is there any actual solution to this yet?

Recently when I try open a raw file in PS from LRC it doesn't open in camera raw. Also, the block where I could check to open a copy or the original is gone. I can still open in camera raw from my HD but it kind of defeats the purpose of LR.Is this somethin new or did I accidently delete something.In my preferences I checked prefer camera raw for supported files.Im using win 10 and it's up to date as are all my adobe files.Cameras are Nikons and I pretty much only shoot in raw.Suggestions would be appreciated.Thank you,...

Current Lightroom Classic. The catalog used on drive D works. Contents 210,000 images, 1.7 GByte.I have saved a new catalog on drive C and started the import from the previously used catalog.At about 25,000 imported images Lightroom aborts with the message unknown error. The PC is powerful (gamer class), the hard disks are fast SSDs. Who has also had this problem and can please help me? Aktuelles Lightroom Classic. Der verwendete Katalog auf Laufwerk D funktioniert. Lightroom Classic, Clicking stack icon not working Version of the app: LRC 13.2Platform and OS version:WIN 10 PROBasic steps to reproduce the problem: use LRC. Long standing problem that's been happening for many, many years.Expected result: stack the images: click on stack icon to open or close the stackand actual result: Clicking the stack to open and close it is not workingStripping out all preferences, actions, customization, preferences to fix this is not a solution. If there was a was to save all of the preferences, actions, customization, preferences and reload it would be an acceptable solution.

I'm using Lightroom Classic 12.4 on macOS 13.4.1 (M1) and iOS 16.5.1. If I take a photo with the Photos app on the iPhone, then enter a caption, then import new photos to Lightroom Classic using a USB cable, then the caption is nowhere to be found in the metadata on the imported file. On the other hand, if I AirDrop the same photo to my Mac, the caption metadata is present (from exiftool): [IFD0] ImageDescription : Photo caption test XZX[XMP-dc] Description : Photo caption test XZX Why is Lightroom dropping the captions on import? This is annoying because it's nice to be able to type captions when I take the photo. If I have to enter them later into Lightroom I might forget what I wanted to write. BTW I do not use Lightroom CC or any Adobe cloud storage. Please do not suggest that as I do not want to pay for their cloud storage - I have enough other cloud storage.

For everyone who gets this error message while exporting photos:"Some export operations were not performed."I found out that I can export normally when I delete my AI mask. Alternatively, if you disable AI lens blur, you can also export without issues.Here's how I fixed my problem:I changed the GPU settings in Lightroom from 'Automatic' to 'Custom'.Then, I checked the option 'Use GPU for export'.Hope this helps!

I recently installed Lightroom Classic on a new iMac and noticed Adobe Creative Cloud installed a lot of files in Utilities folder with the Applications folder. Most (all) of these files are not executables that the end-user runs. Should these be somewhere else like the Library folder?

Hi everyone I was on Photo assignment last weekend shooting concerts Sunday and Monday Monday I opened my Dell 3779 laptop to find out Adobe would not let Lightroom 6 work on my laptop anymore. After about 3 days and 7 1/2 hours on share screen we've kind of thrown in the towel and I went out and purchased a computer that I could afford I really could not afford anything other than this and I'm starting it up now and if anyone can chime in on whether you think this is going to run Lightroom classic? I'm in a real pickle here I'm two days three days behind posting my photos so looking for some advice. Thanks much 

For some reason some photos are not in my catalog. They were there a few months ago and I did edits and exported. I should have 352 photos, but on the bottom it says 329 of 352 as seen in the following screen shot:  The images are in the proper place on my disk. I know exactly which ones are missing since I've exported them a few months ago. There's no filters on in Lightroom either. When I search a file name in Lightroom, nothing shows up. I tried reimporting, but it looks like they're already in the catalog and doesn't let me import.  Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hi,Using LR CC (Windows) for more than a year now, I now faced the problem that LR does not import & copy all of the photos from an external card reader (CF card) to the internal hard disk. For whatever reason, approx. 30 images out of 500 were simply not imported & copied (physically not on the internal HDD, nor in the catalog). All of the images are CR2 files and no error message showed up.However, when I tried to import the missing images while using the function "don't import suspected duplicates" (i.e. only import new files), LR does not show any images. In other words the LR catalog seems to regard the missing images as properly imported files, but they aren't.Also, when deleting images from catalog and HDD and trying to reimport them, LR doesn't recognize these images as new files but continues to treat these images as already imported files (duplicates).Thank you for any help.OlivierMy system : Windows 10, newest LR version, 32 MB Ram, core I7, AMD Radeon R7

Is there any way to filter on wheter a DNG is a Lightroom "Enhanced" DNG (i.e. with Noise Reduction applied) or not? I.e. is that info stored in some metadata that I could filter on? Right now I am simply using the text filter on the file name, to filter out the enhanced images, but this feels like a bit of a workaround (i.e. filtering on "Enhanced" or "Verbessert", since I have Lightroom running in English and German). If there is no facility like this availalable yet, perhaps we should start an idea to make this happen in a future update? 🙂

Hey yall. I bought a package that includes Lightroom and Lightroom Classic earlier today, and my payment went through and everything, but the application is still not letting me access it. PLEASE HELP I have tried everything and I have to edit pictures!!

I've spent a few hours trying to troubleshoot this issue. I have a new Epson SureColor P700 printer, but can't get it to print from Lightroom Classic v9.3.  Trying to isolate the problem, I spent an hour on the phone with Epson, who concluded it's a Mac problem, and then another hour with Apple, who concluded it's a Lightroom problem. I won't go through all the troubleshooting steps we took, but I did uninstall and reinstall the Epson driver three times, and checked virtually every setting on the Mac side. On the recommendation of the Epson rep, I've "reset the Mac printing system" several times by deleting the printer and all associated files and adding it back in. Didn't fix the problem. After lots of experimentation, the Apple rep decided the problem lies with the Printer Settings that are available in the Print dialog box that you get when you hit Print in Lightroom. I'm able to print to the P700 from other applications, and also by selecting the Bonjour version of the pr

I left town for 10 days, it was working fine the day I left. Came back and tried to open LRC and it froze. I force quit after a few minutes, sent a crash report, and tried again. It kept freezing. I restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled LRC, and cannot think of what to do next. PS and LR are working fine. Macbook Pro, M3 Max, Sequoia 15.3.1LRC Version 14.2
