Not sure what's going on here. I've never found LrC to be super fast with how it handles importing photos but it's gotten a lot worse lately. While playing around with an import tonight I was getting 50 MB/s for the transfer speed. Taking the same folders and importing them with windows explorer: >600 MB/s. I can't seem to find what I've done for this to happen. CF Express cards via thunderbolt card reader, Windows 10, LrC 14.3. Here's the kicker. I'm not sure this is just a LrC issue. I tried using Photo Mechanic and am getting similar speeds. Thoughts?

Hi, I’d like to report a bug in Lightroom Classic related to the masking overlay. When using the brush tool within a mask, the red overlay initially shows as expected. However, after a short while of editing, the overlay suddenly disappears — even though the "Show Overlay" option is still enabled. Here are some additional observations:Pressing "O" to toggle the overlay does not bring it back.Duplicating the mask temporarily restores the overlay, but it disappears again shortly afterThis happens inconsistently, but regularly.Changing the overlay color and verifying all view modes makes no difference.
Odd behavior with Wacom Intuos Pro in the masks panel. Clicking on SUBJECT and LR does not respond unless I lift my palm totally off the tablet. Works perfectly fine in Photoshop Camera Raw. Also works fine using the mouse in both LR and PS. Wacom support unable to determine resolution. Tablet remapped to a small area. Touch is OFF.Windows Ink on or off makes no difference.Wacom driver uninstalled and reinstalled. Windows 11 up to date.Any ideas?
I am having a lot of issues with Lightroom Classic after recenty upgrading to 14.2. It frequently crashes or gives me errors about files not being found or corrupt. The errors are inconsistent and go away after restarting Lightroom only to occur later with a different photo. If I reboot my computer I get few or no errors. It could be that my catalog is corrupted, however:* Integrity check reports no errors * Optimise reports no errors (and optimise bascially rewrites the catalog so corruptions shouldn't get through) * The upgrade to 14.2 (from 13.x) also rewrote the catalog so corruptions shouldn't get through. My catalog is quite large (46GB) and I wonder if it is causing some memory issues which might be why it works better after just rebooting the computer. Could it be bugs in 14.2? The computer is a Mac mini with Apple M2 Pro, 32GB of memory, 2TB SSD with 450GB of free space (i.e. >20%). The catalog is on the SSD but the photo files are on an ex
For some reason the function to create a Virtual Copy is grayed out in the menu. I used this just yesterday without problem. What can be the reason?Macbook Pro with M1, updated OS and lightroom classic.
Hi,I do my processing on a Windows 11 PC that has 64GB Ram and has a 13th gen i7 processor running at 3.4GHz and a couple of ProArt monitors. I have LRC 14.3 with camera raw 17.3 installed. I am finding LRC is very slow so I have been using Bridge, but I would like to go back to LRC. Often I will be applying a mask and the machine does not respond for a while to show the overlay and seems to be continuosly whiring the hard drive. Has anyone had an issue with LRC being slow and managed to get it running again at acceptable speed? Can you please share any LRC or Windows settings that help. Thanks
I would love to see a configuration item added to Lightroom Classic. It would allow the user to *exclude* source disk drives from consideration from the import dialog. This would be a performance benefit. When I click the Import button, I then have to wait about 30 seconds before I even have a chance to select a source drive for the import. This is not because I have a slow system; rather, it's because I have several USB-connected external drives. Many of them are backup drives which are normally sleeping, and it takes them a moment to wake up upon first access. I'll *never* want to import files from them, so I'd love to be able to tell Lightroom to permanently ignore drives F through J, for example. Alternatively, if it's easier to implement, it would be acceptable to turn this around and make it an *include* list, indicating to Lightroom which of my drives should be considered candidates for import sources. Either way would work, and wo
At this link entitled "Lightroom Classic 14.2 release is now available" (which is locked, so I can't post there) I click on the link and right near the top it says "What's New In the Update". I click on that link and I am taken to the what's new in Lightroom Classic 14.3. The "What's New" for 14.2 is nowhere to be foudn. Similarly there doesn't appear to be a "What's New" for 14.1 either.
I have an issue that whenever I go into the profile browser or try and use an adaptive preset LrC immediately crashes. The same thing happens when going into the profile browser in Camera Raw. I have the latest versions installed (fresh install) and my Computer has the latest drivers. Another thing that happens and might be connected to this issues is that when I try to use AI masks it says "some AI masks need to be updated" yet when I hit update nothing happens and the masks just don't work at all. Any help would be appreciated since this makes the program close to unusable for me.. I'm using LrC on Windows. have a couple of internal SSD drives and a couple of external USB HDDs. The external drives are only there for backups. The backups run automatically each night. The HDDs are normally in "sleep" mode. They'll wake up when accessed, but that initital access is very slow as they come to life. That's no problem at all for the backup. The issue is with LrC import. When I click on the Import button, LR wants to show me every possible drive and have me select the one from which I want to import. That means it pings the external drives, and I have to wait about 30 seconds for the list of drives to show up. But I will NEVER want to select one of the external drives. What I'd love to do is to configure LR, essentially tell it this: I'll only ever want to import from my F: drive (CFexpress reader) or my C: drive, so only show me those. Ignore any other drive letter and don't even try to scan it
I'm having some issues with LR classic and I can't tell if it's a bug or an issue with my catalog. I suspect the catalog but wanted to check here. I'm running LR classic 14.3 on Windows 11 Home v24H2 on a one year old Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. My catalog has about 139K images in it; the catalog file is about 2.5 GB. I back up the catalog regularly, including testing integrity and optimizing - no recent integrity issues found. Here are the issues I'm noticing: When I add color labels or star ratings, it takes a long time (>1 minute) for it to tint the cell or show the stars in the expanded cells. The label and rating shows up in the image metadata viewer in the right panel. When I close the catalog, it frequently (but not always) says it is still writing metadata changes to xmp, even if I haven't done much (or even sometimes when all I've done is navigate, no develop or metadata changes at all). When I close the catalog, it takes a looong time for the app to actually
When cropping an HDR Panorama using two displays, the full image is not shown correctly in my secondary display. My primary display will show the full panorama, but when I try to crop it the secondary display erratically shows white space where there should be imagery. If I make crops, the secondary display will update (slowly), but continue to show white space. This white space seems to mimic the boundary of the original panorama. I recently upgraded from a 2019 iMac to a 2023 M2 Max Studio with 96gb ram. The problem used to occur on my iMac and I was hoping that the new powerful machine would make a difference. It didn't. I'm using MacOS Ventura 13.5 and LR 12.5. But this issue also occured on my 2019 iMac, using different OS and different LR Classic versions. I have two external monitors. The one I'm using with LR is a 4k display. The other monitor I use is an old Apple Thunderboldt display (2560 x 1440). I tried using that as my LR secondary display, but the iss
With recent upgrade of LRC Mac, this is Mac Studio, 2022 running on latest macOS, select object, select sky, radio, gradient, etc., blur the selected area. I tried on another computer with an older version of LRC and I didn't see the problem. Anyway, to fix this? [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
I use the colors for particular classifications as most probably do.... If images are marked yellow and green and they are not selected, the colors are are too close and easily confused. I understand the dulling of the colors when images are not selected is good, you don't want bright colors when you are scanning a grid or the filmstrip....but if you are looking for the yellow or the greens it is easy to get mixed up. Mix ups mean time lost, time lost means money lost. If the yellow and green are right next each other, it is plain enough but if either of those colors not near the other one, it easy to get mixed up.
So on my last wedding photography project we had almost 4 different cameras shooting. One D750, one Z6II, One Mark IV and one 6D Mark II. When I import all of these photos in a single catalogue and hit "sort by capture time" what lightroom does is sort the photos by capture date from each camera separtely. That means First It'll sort by capture time the photos from my D750 and then My Z6II. So If I click 500 Photos from my D750 and 500 from my Z6II, Then Two photos taken at the same time from both of these cameras will so far apart in the catalogue. I hope I was able to explain the situation. Please suggest a fix for this in the latest lightroom classic.
On Windows, when you paste multi-line text into an osFactory:edit_field with height_in_lines = 1, all but the first line is discarded. But this doesn't happen when you paste more than two lines into an edit field with height_in_lines = 2 -- all the lines are preserved. Nor does the bad behavior occur on Mac. The Windows behavior of height_in_lines = 1 is inconsistent with height_in_lines = 2 and with Mac height_in_lines = 1. This bug affects my Any Filter plugin's user interface -- it's important for users to be able to paste in multiple lines of text into an edit_field that for UI design purposes should otherwise be one line high: The script below illustrates the problem. I've attached screen recordings of running it on Windows and Mac. local LrBinding = import "LrBinding" local LrDialogs = import "LrDialogs" local LrFunctionContext = import "LrFunctionContext" local LrView = import "LrView" local bind = LrView.bind local f = LrVi
Updated Lightroom version.I transferred 790 files from the camera memory card to an external drive.I imported files from a folder on an external drive into Lightroom.Because of restoring the database (in the camera itself), there were 150 files that I did not see in another folder in the memory card.Only after I started editing in Lightroom I saw that the 150 files were missing.I moved them into the same foder on the external drive.I try to import them from the same directory on the drive in library mode by drag and drop, but Lightroom try importing the entire folder instead of the 150 files.----How do I add these 150 files without re-importing the entire folder because I made some editing and presets I don't want to loose?
Hi all, I am trying to help my friend set up her Lightroom and have pretty much finished except for one problem, when she exports the photos, and downloads them on her phone and other devices, the colours are way off, contrast and exposure too. I am trying my hardest to fix it (from another country) as she is such a passionate photographer and this is very frustrating for the both of us! In my mind it was down to two things, 1. either her laptop screen isn't calibrated so it's causing the incorrect edits, or 2. it's caused by the colour space or colour profiles. I don't quite understand colour spaces and profiles just yet either. I thought as a test to see if it's an uncalibrated monitor, I asked her to export a untouched raw file from lightroom and onto her phone. I thought in theory this should look the same as on camera at least. But nope completely different. So Im guessing that leaves the cause to be colour profile/space related. we have tried exporting them in bot
Hello! Hoping someone here can point me towards whatever setting is messing with my right click. Using the right click button on my pen on an image pulls up the background color drop down menu instead of the normal right click menu with "edit in photoshop" etc. Right clicking with my mouse works just fine, so I'm assuming this is an issue with something I have set wrong on the tablet. I've tested right clicking both the surrounding background area and directly on the image; with the mouse I get each respective menu, but with the pen it pulls up the background color menu for both. Thanks in advance!Tristan
If I edit my photos and create a curstom order (which I always do on wedding projects) and I have to denoise some of them - they are added at the end of my folder. This is very annoying since I need to move them back again to were they belong manually. This is very cumbersome on projects with 1000 or even more images. My suggestion: Why not put the newly added DNG files next to the original (which has the same name)? This would be so much more convenient. The same is true btw when you edit an image in an external editor (photoshop etc). In other threads it has been suggested to use the order by timestamp than >> but this is definitely not a solution! Since I intentionally move images around to tell a story.
My raw files from my iphone 13 appropriately automatically appear on my mac book pro as raw files in photo library. When I attempt to download from photo library on my mac to lightroom classic they appear as jpeg files. How do I download as raw files? Thank you,
