Lightroom Classic

I have the Raw versons of my personal photographs on one portable external 5TB HD, backed up to a RAID and to the cloud. This drive is getting old and I'm thinking of moving it to a newer portable HD. If I move everything from the old HD to the new one, including the LR catalogue, will it function exactly like the old one or will it lose the groups that I have put the images into? Also, in order to be sure that all adjustments move with the images, should I do a command S on all images or is there is way to save adjustments which will take up less HD space?

I am looking for some help.I currently run a Ryzon 7 5700G with 32GB RAM , Navdia Geforce GTX1650 Super, 650w PSU, 1TB SSD and I find that when using lightroom some of the process are slow. ie: deNoise. Will upgrading the graphics card to RTX 3060 help or do I need more memory?

When using LrC, after hopping between develop mode and grid view a few times, ctrl+shift+s stops opening the sync develop settings dialog for me, and instead opens a "save as" dialog.  LrC doesn't even have a "save as" option? This is what confuses me the most! The only way to make this stop is restart the program. Support tells me this is due to conflicting commands and I should reset preferences and/or uninstall + reinstall. Has anyone else had this issue happen? How did you solve it?

So many versions later, I think Lightroom Classic 14.x has a GDI handle leak still. I also have a machine with 128GB of ram, and amd finding that eventually Windows grounds to a halt with Lightroom classic open, where opening any other window fails, or eventually just stalls out. I opened a ticket with Adobe and it was suggested I upgrade my GPU (which in 2024 is nearly impossible RTX4080 already)I started searching GDI handles leak and it lead me here.    {Moderator note: Edited the thread title}

Recently installed LRC 14.0.1 0n Mac studio running OS 15.0.1 and experiencing frequent crashes. No apparent reason or solution. Is Adobe. aware of this problem? No system issues have been identified.   {Moved from Lightroom Cloud to Lightroom Classic Forum by Moderator} 

HelloLR Classic won't open but appears in Task Manager (Win 10)The hour glass appears for a few seconds but nothing else happensIf I look at file explorer I can see 2 files repeatedly opening and closing - 1 ending in shm and the other in walIf I end task in task manager I am left with a .lock file which I understand might be part of the problem - but if I delete that I still can't launch LRWould be grateful for some advice pleaseRob 

Lightroom is closing unexpectedly often with no clear trigger (can occur during almost any activity) since update to 14.0.1. Have sent reports, rebooted computer, etc. Hoping there will be a big fix soon. Running on MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1.

I have been a Lightroom user for many years. The sizes of the original uncropped files and virtual copies have always been  essentially the same. I have discovered that recent virtual copies of my JPEG files are much smaller than the originals. For example: Original - 1.7 MB ; Virtual Copy - 196 KB. I have been unable to find settings that need to be changed and have not found similar problems discussed. File Settings in Export: Image Format: JPEG; Quality: 100; Limit File Size: not checked. I have the most recent version of What am I missing here?

I have created a plug-in to modify Radial Gradient in real time ( the advantage is I don't need to use the overlay) I use photo:applyDevelopSettings Alas this creates many history steps. How is it possible to stop too many steps from being created when using photo:applyDevelopSettings ?p.s.I am not using a slider to modify the mask..

Problem with Lightroom Classic Catalog after pictures folders changedMy Pictures are mainly stored in my OneDrive folder.  The Lightroom Catalog was also stored there, (but I was unaware of that).The file structure of the pictures folders was then changed by me using Windows File Manager but not also reflected in Lightroom. I was unaware that changing the folder structure now meant that LR could not locate where its catalog had gone to.Lightroom would then not start, saying the catalog was corrupted. I tried to fix problem by choosing to create a new catalog and merged it with the most recent LR catalog that had been backed up.Lightroom will now open, but the catalog in Library says that it has 35,000 photo files that it cannot locate. Using “Find All Missing Photos” function does not assist.Tried moving picture files in File Manager back where they originally were but, I cannot remember the exact folder structure before my changes were made; and I also get a message that the

Is there a reason to use LR classic instead of LR? Alex

I took a photo in the develop module, and rotated it CCW to get the orientation that I desired.  The problem was during printing, when I applied a watermark, it was flipped and applied to the original lower corner.  I tried to reset by closing the program, and reopening, and printing again, with no change.  I still received the undesired, flipped watermark ( or backward) in the wrong corner?  Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so did you find a solution?

How to add large title below large group of small photos in Lightroom Classic?

Hi!I took delivery the other day of a brand new Macbook Pro with M2 Max chip (38-core GPU) and experience so much flicker for LRC to be unusuable. This only occurs with my external monitor attached. More details:* This was a directly replacement of my M1 Max Macbook Pro (which had fewer GPU cores, less RAM);* Fresh MacOS install (13.2);* Same data/LR catalog (LRC 12.1);* Apple Pro XDR display (latest firmware);* Preferences > Performance > Camera Raw / Use Graphics Processor = Auto. The flicker presents as if a new color profile is being applied on and off, every time I move the mouse in the Development module. It appears as if a new white balance is applied (the white balance doesn't actually change — it just has the same screen effect as if WB is changing). This makes the program unusuable for any editing.  True Tone and Automatic brightness adjustments are both off, as is Night Shift. If I turn this GPU usage to off within LRC, the flickering is gone —

I have certain presets I use in Lightroom, for instance, "Enhance Portrait," which uses AI to select facial features and adjust them. Lately it seems like it's not making good selections, like it's not coloring within the lines like it used to. I'm starting to notice there is more blur on peoples eyes now from the soften skin feature. Is anyone else having these issues or noticing any problems like this? And any idea what I can do about it or how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Seit kurzem ist in Lightroom Classic mein Entwickeln Modul Spiegelverkehrt angeordnet und ich kann mir leider nicht erklären wie dies zustande gekommen ist. Ein Screenshot befindet sich anbei.Weis von euch jemand wie ich dieses Problem beheben kann? Ist absolut nervig wenn man die letzten 10 Jahre gefühlt "richtig" herum gearbeitet hat. 🙂

Pasting the settings on a photo is just not working. I edit a photo, copy the settings and can copy them on the next photo only, but after that, it doesn't paste. No messages are showing on the screen.  I have to go to the previous photo to copy the settings again and then paste them, but again, works on one photo. Very time consuming. Tried to do the holding Opt+Shift to restart the preferences on mac but couldn't, no window shows up and LrC just opens normally. Gotta lot of photos to edit but this bug is slowing things too much. MacBook Pro 2019, 16gb RAM - MacOS Sequoia 15.1Lightroom 14.0.1

Salve, ho installato Lightroom Classic ed ho tentato di convertire il catalogo precedentemente utilizzato con Lightroom 6. Lightroom Classic, dopo aver lavorato per parecchio tempo (ho un catalogo piuttosto corposo) mi ha risposto con un messaggio che evidenzia l'impossibilità di convertire il catalogo per un errore imprevisto ma senza consentirmi di capire di quale errore si tratta. Le scelte per risalire all'errore non funzionano. Qualcuno sa dirmi come fare a risolvere? Caricare le foto ex novo, perdendo tutte le valutazioni e le raccolte dinamiche create, sarebbe un disastro! 

l'IA générative sur mon PC ne supprime pas les éléments sélectionnés ! Comment régler ce problème ?

Bonjour , jutilise lighthroom cc , il est à jour en cours de traitement d'une quinzaine de photos, la reduction de bruit c'est plantée, elle déroule puis fige la page ! il faut que je passe par le gestionnaire des taches pour fermer lightroom . j'utilise la reduction du bruit depuis le début sans aucun souci, il y t'il un lien avec la reduction du bruit et les serveurs d'adobe ? tout le reste de lighthroom fonctionne sans probléme . merci pour vos eclairage      [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]

Ho do I find and retrieve recently removed photos from Lightroom Classic version 13.5.1 on a MacBook Pro (macOS Monterey)? Thank you in advance!

I have heard that the new update causes problems with some of my workflow so I want to avoid the automatic update. I've looked through all the files and asked the same quetion, and none of the answers is relevant to my quest.
