In version 14.0.1 the default Profile in the Develop Module is Camera Natural. This profile is very saturated and not very realistic and not at all like the image I expect from the camera (Olympus OM-1). I have to change every photo to Adobe Color in Develop for the image to match the rendering in Library. Can I change the default Develop Profile?
These days it is very common to use a variety of third party lenses with mirrorless cameras. Typically, the camera does not know what lens is mounted on it, so it does not put out the right lens information in the EXIF data. There are a handful of EXIF editors with varying degrees of usability, but most don't work since they don't edit the data that is considered proprietary to a camera maker. The one utility that is supposed to work is very hard to use. Can LRC provide the ability to edit in the name of the lens in the EXIF data? Also, I don't know if LRC does this, but it would also be helpful to edit the capture date and time for individual photos, as well as batch edit the capture date and time by providing a time offset, e.g., +9:00 hours. Thank you for considering this input.
Hi - This is an issue that keeps popping up on here, but I can't see an answer for my specific question, which is in two parts: All my photos are on an external hard drive, which used to be D:/ but has now been reassigned to F:/ . Lightroom can see all the photos I've imported recently from F:/ but nearly all my folders are 'missing' because Lightroom thinks they're on D:/ which it can't now find. I've done all the steps to repoint LrC at the missing folders, which are all in a single master folder on the external drive. I think I'm nearly there, but I'm baulking at the final step, where after I've right clicked on the 'missing' D:/ drive in Lightroom, found the missing master folder and all the missing folders within it, clicked on it but now LrC is saying "The selected folder or one of its subfolders is already in Lightroom. Do you want to combine these folders?". It then gives the option to MERGE or CANCEL. If I hit MERGE is that problem solved? Second part of the que
despues de actualizarse la aplicacion LRC no me aparecen las ultimas carpetas de fotografias. Como puedo recuperarlas?
I've been using the Photoshop Elements Organizer for over 20 years as my image cataloging tool. Once the product stabalized it's done almost everything I needed. In my editing workflow I'm using Bridge for accessing and Photoshop 26.1 for my editing. I've never really liked Lightroom but yesterday I though I would take another look to see if it would be suitable for my cataloging needs. The first thing I did was import the Organizer's catalog. That took quite a long time, but it eventually completed. However, Lightroom complained about some of the images and gave me a list of 96 files that it said were "either unavailable or damaged." In the list were a couple tif files and the rest were psd files. I've checked several of the files it reported and I was able to see their thumbnails with the Elements Organizer, and able to access them with Bridge and Photoshop. Bridge does provide a thumbnail graphic for these images. Lig
So, I've been using the AI denoise capability for a while. In the past, it had this "Enhance" option, that did not seem to do a whole lot. It made MINOR enhancements to details, but that was all, which was fine with me. I recently updated LRC to the latest version, and now the "Enhance" is called "Raw Details"...and I really do not like it!! Problem is, I cannot seem to disable it. It is always automatically enabled whenever I choose to denoise or do super resolution... I have become somewhat reliant on Denoise to clean up the noise in my images now, as it does a pretty good job, and its faster than my manual approach that I've used in the past. However, I really do NOT want AI to be deciding for me, what details are "real" and need "enhancement" (rabid embellishemnt is often more the case!!) vs. what is not detail and can be obliterated. It doesn't get it right, a lot of the time, and the obliteration happens right where details are often critical, at the beginning of
Platforms:Lightroom mobile v10.0.2 on Android 15 (Pixel 8a)Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 on MacOS 15.0.1 (14" MacBook Pro, M1 2021) Workflow: Take photo on mobile phone. Photo (jpg) is automatically added to a "Phone Import" album which has sync turned on. I open Lightroom Classic and see that the photo has been synced and appears in the "Phone Import" collection. The physical file is automatically placed in my file system according to my import settings by date, like MyPhotos/2024/10/PXL_xxxx.jpg I go to "All Synced Photographs" in my catalog, select the photo and hit delete. Lightroom prompts me with "1 photo will be removed from all synced collections and from Lightroom photos on Creative Cloud, but will not be deleted from the desktop catalog". I click OK to continue. I can confirm that the photo has been removed from the Creative Cloud by checking that the "Phone Import" collection on my phone is now empty. The full resolution photo, however, remains on my computer
I've used the LR slideshow module ever since it was introduced, and it has worked flawlessly until I upgraded my laptop recently. It's a Dell XPS 13 with a UHD (3840x2160) screen running Windows 10, plus Intel Graphics 620 (driver version 23.30.16.5018). Slideshows are always run on an external projector (Canon WUX500 running at either 1920x1080 or 1600x1200), and when I first tried this back in August (7.3 or 7.4, not sure which) I discovered that everything worked fine providing I hadn't over-ridden the "high-DPI scaling" settings for the application. I tried the slideshow module again after version 8.0 was released, just to see whether the high-DPI issue had been fixed, and discovered something much more alarming: neither the Play nor the Preview button were functioning. Before anyone presents me with a raft of "have you tried xxx?" questions, I ought to point out that I'm a software engineer myself with more than 40 years experience. So far I have expe
I just switched from a PC to a Macbook and all of my photos in Lightroom are showing up as missing. The photos are located in folders by date on an external harddrive that on my PC went by the drive letter E. If I understand correctly, Mac doesn't function with drive letters, so I'm unable to change the drive letter back to E and recover the missing files in Lightroom on my new Macbook. Unfortunately I never created a parent folder under drive E and now have hundreds (maybe thousands) of dated folders under the following file structure (photo attached). When I try to locate the missing files in Lightroom, I can only locate the folders one at a time, which isn't a viable option considering the vast amount of folders that there are under drive E. Is there any way that I can locate and update all of these folders at once? Thanks so much,Sophia
I'm making a book but when I go to the book module I get a '!' on the left corner of my photo's and this means that the photo can't be found or is offline.I've made books in the past and this never happened. I don't know what I'm doing wrong right now.Herlinde
Please help. All of a sudden my exported photos look very different once exported. Somehow they are MUCH warmer. I notice this too when I view the same photo and toggle between the Libary and Develop modules the photo looks different ( warmer ). Even if i toggle between full screen (F) view and Develop Module the same happens. I am editing in sRGB and exporting in sRGB format. It's driving me crazy & I must have a setting incorrect somewhere. I think the problem only happened recently when I updated Lightroom. I've never had this happen previously. Thanks & regards, Steve
When I right-click on a folder in the folder panel and I select "Create folder inside <FolderName>", the Folder panel immediately collapses up and then I need to expand it and scroll back down and find the folder I just created. This can get tedious because I have a very big folder tree. Is there a way to stop this happening?
In the past few months I have noticed that Lightroom Classic no longer creates .xmp files automatically even after develop changes have been made. I have "automatically write changes into .xmp” selected within the catalog settings. In order to create the .xmp files, I have to manually create them using “save metadata”.Yes, I know that the edits are stored within the catalog but, should I move folders in windows explorer rather (My workflow requires that I do) than move within lightroom, I lose the edits. I’m not looking for a workaround or to change my process, just trying to figure out how to have Lightroom automatically create .xmp files containing my edits as it has in the past.Currently I am on the latest version, 14.0.1 but, this issue was present on the recent version as well.Photo files in question are .cr3Any ideas? Adobe's AI Denoise was astoundingly good. It required some experimentation to find the right amount to apply. But I've literally saved photos shot at ISO 51200 with it. Even at 1%, it would dim the bright color pixels and give massive improvement. So, when I was seeing moderately high ISO numbers in a senior photo shoot when the clouds came over, I shot anyway and expexted to use AI Denoise to get them into a really good state. But unfortunately I had installed an update and didn't notice that this was (effectively from my perspective) broken. I find the "Raw Details" part of AI Denoise in this latest version, really wrecks the photo before Denoise is even applied. Meaning, "Raw Details" alone wrecks the photo. And AI Denoise forces this to be on and does not fix the damage.I may have postponed an update or two before this, so am not sure how far I need to roll back to get to a version that does not have this significant change to AI Denoise. I understand that it may have always been doi
Hi everyone! I'm facing a challenge with managing date metadata in my photos, and I would really appreciate your help. Context: I started by looking into whether Google Photos could automatically change the capture date in the metadata so I could download the photos and maintain the order in other galleries, like Samsung's. Unfortunately, I found that it can't do this automatically; it only allows me to manually adjust the "creation date" on their platform, not the IPTC or XMP metadata fields where the "capture date" is stored in the photo file. Now, I’m looking for a way to automate this process. Ideally, I want software that can read the date from the file name and place it in the "capture date" metadata field of each image. Does anyone have experience or advice on how to achieve this? Maybe there’s a tool or script that makes it easy. I'm asking here because perhaps Adobe has already provided a tool for this in their suite, or even Premiere might be able to help.
I have my LRC catalog and all images stored on my SanDisk SSD, so nothing after import is kept on my MacBook Pro, well, sort of? So after taking images, I connect my external SSD to my Mac, I connect my card reader, insert my SD card and of course import all images. Now, where I get confused is that once each week LRC asks me if I want to back up my catalog. I select yes and it puts a folder onto the desktop of my Mac. I now have 36 folders on my desktop. So the questions I have are: How many of these folders should I actually keep over time, should they be kept somewhere else besides on my desktop and if so should it be on my external SSD along with my catalog and how to set that up? I have also been advised to make another physical backup of my external SSD drive onto another external SSD. What is the correct way of doing this? Just for more info, I also have used Backblaze from day 1. Thank you for any help with all t
Seit ca. 2 Monaten wird mein System komplett lahm gelegt, wenn ich Lightroom starte. Habe schon alles versucht, Updates gemacht, Finger wund gegooglet, ja sogar Windows neu augesetzt, alles kein Erfolg. Vielleicht kann ja hier jemand helfen. Im Anhang die Systeminfos. Schon mal vielen Dank und viele Grüße
Ok, so I am using MacOS 15.0.1 with the latest LRC 14.0.1 I seem to be back to a faulty print module, where the page set up on shows "Any Printer", and doesn't show the printers installed on the mac. This is very much like the problems in early summer of 2024. Is anyone else having the same issues? CheersSteve
I am using iMac which have 256GB disk and using lighrrom exensively. Catalog back was on the same disk. Now I selected an external disk for catlog back to reduce risk and save my disk speace. I see there is on file Lightroom Catlog-v13-3 Previews.Irdata is 120GB. This is consuming my space. I have two question.Since I seelcted catlog backup folder on external disk, do I cleanup/delete earlier catlog file from my IMac disk? How can I reduce size of file Lightroom Catlog-v13-3 Previews.Irdata? Thnaks in advance!
Hi Smart People I need help. Lightroom is crippling slow to load the images and I have done everything I can find / think of to speed it up. In no particular order. I am running the very latest release, 14.0.1. I am up to date and running the latest from Apple on Sequoia 15.01.1 I have 72 GB of memory I have the AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB Graphics Card. I have a 4 TB external hard drive connected through the Lightening Port and I have 1.4 TB free on that. I disabled all of my plugins. I have optimized my Catalog I only have a 19,000 images in my catalog I have adjusted the Performance to use the Grapics Processor and have a 45 GB cache. I downsized my preview to below the resolution of my Mac. I ran system checks on the hard drive and external hard drive and all showed up as great. Anything else you can recommend?
Let me get this straight. LR Classic 14.0 and 14.01 are causing a boatload of problems, and there are many recommendations to not upgrade, but syncing has stopped unless I do? Really? Damned if I do, damned if I don't?
Is it possible to update my Imac from Montery 12.7.6 to Mac Os Ventura 13.6. Otherwise it is not possible to use the newest version of Adobe Lightroom Calssic. Please give me a reaction.
I recently imported a batch of images that I shot in a dark club and the original import images that I looked at last night did not have this massive amount of noise in the blue areas. The noise just showed up today and I'm scratching my head as to why. I have deleted the imported images and re-imported twice.I have checked the original RAW files and they seem fine.I have uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom Classic on my Mac. My guess is that there is a setting somewhere I have missed that is causing this? Attaching screenshot of Lightroom look as well as a .png version of the original image. Attaching a scr
