I am sure that this is a common problem but have been unable to find any answers when searching the forum. I have just migrated my files and catalog from one iMAC to another and on my new iMAC have two references to each image. Screenshot shows this in detail better than I can describe. I am the user: "Alan" and "alan" , (there is only one account) and as said, the image files are not duplicated, just the catalog entry. If I delete one of the duplicates, all the photographs disappear from the other.
I am able to create Virtual Copies of photos (all in same folder). The stack icon appears in the upper left of the thumbnail, and when I click it - it either says 1 of 2 or 2. However I cannot unstack those photos. Have tried multiple times on multiple photos. Have tried multiple approaches (shortcut of "S", going to stacking menu and selecting expand all stacks) but none of them result in placing the two copies next to each other in the film strip. The top photo remains unchanged showing 2 or 1of2I have used VCs and unstacked them in the past (maybe 2 months back), but now I am stuck. (there are help messages on unstacking going back over 7 years - but none have this problem and usually mention the stacking menu).Any wisdom or experience with this will be greatly appreciated!(Just updated CC and see that there are two versions of LR - desk and cloud - - gotta wrap my mind around that)
There is a problem with the Raw Canon file CR2. It appears in DENOISE as an unsupported file.
About 3 month ago I upgraded to the Canon R6 Mark II and after I upload my images they are grainy and not as sharp as I would like. I shoot RAW and upload to Lightroom. Take this photo for example. Below are the specs. Is this grain normal or am I being nitpicky? If I use an ISO over 800 it is even worse. I want to be excited about this camera so hopefully I can get a little advise. Thank you in advance. Exposure: 1/250 @ f/5.0ISO 320
I have been using bridge for some time to rate, label and keyword my images.Am now starting to use light room.In lightroom have set the colour label to Bridge default and have made sure the text against each label is the same as the text in my bridge preferences. ie in both the green colour is labelled 'For Sale' etc.If I update the colour label of a file in Bridge should the update flow through to light room and vice versa.I have updated a label from yellow to green in lightroom,When I open Bridge my smart collection based on the green tab does not pick up the file i have changed becasue if#t is still shown with a yellow label in bridge.I have tried the same thing going back the other way.Chnage form yellow to green in bridge, and in lightroom this is still shown as yellow. So I end up with the same file rated in the original colour in one application but shown in the updated colour in the other. Is this normal or do I need to manage my set-up for the chnages to flow through?
I'm trying to add my subscribed LrC and PS apps to my new Apple 24 M3 2023 iMac computer, but it won't accept my Adobe password when prompted so I can continue on with the download process. Any ideas?
Hi fellow Lightroom Classic users, I finally migrated over from the cloud-based Lightroom out of frustration with UI problems, and I am slowly discovering new features that LrC has. One of them is the ability to create lossy DNGs. I tried it out and I am impressed at how well it was able to compress DNG files, especially those produced by denoising applications such as DxO PureRaw: 90MB to 9MB. It is a significant disk space saving. What I do not know is how well it preserves detail. I am not good at pixel peeping - anyone else here with more experience can tell me if they're able to see a significant loss in detail for professional work? I find it kind of paradoxical that Adobe can compress raw formats smaller than the lossy raw formats offered in camera. Am I losing dynamic range or microcontrast? I have no idea how to judge.
QUESTION: I'd like to have the "folder name" where an image is saved in LRC included as a tag/metadata in each image automatically or thru some bulk action.BACKGROUND: I have all of my images stored on a hard drive in folders that are named with Date and event. Hundreds of folders within folders and over 100,000 images. These folders and the images inside them are then sync'd with LRC. Using LRC face recongnition, I tag each image with the names of the people in the image. I then write that metadata back to the file to make sure that it always stays with it. I would love to also save the information contained in host folder name to each image because it relates to the overall event. With hundreds of folders within folders, i'd love to do this automatically or using some type of bulk action rather than folder by folder or image by image.Screen Capture Below?
Hi all!I'm a wedding photographer and have been using LR for years now. Recently I just updated to the latest update (13.5 I guess?) and afterwards, some of my exported photos have been exporting quite differently than I edited them. There are about 1900 photos in the catalog and it only happens to the last 400 photos or so, and only SOME of them. Some of the exported edits are drastically different; some are only subtly different in which the photos have signifiantly more grain than intended, and less contrasty. It's weird because the rest of the catalog exports perfectly the same, so there's definitely a problem with only those specific photos. Last couple times this happened (years ago), I contacted Adobe and usually spend about 2 hours only for them to screen share and press a bunch of buttons and tell me they don't know what the problem is, every single time. So I'm hoping there might be some answers here. Has anyone else had this problem after the recent update, and figured
I backup my Lr Classic Catalogue monthly. Can I safely delete backups more than 2 years old to free external hard drive space?
Hi everyone, I'm encountering an issue in Adobe Lightroom Classic where I'm seeing gray previews even though I have the "Original + Smart Preview" setting enabled. Here are the details of my situation: Lightroom Version: Lightroom Catalog - V13-3 Operating System: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, Windows 11 Education Issue Description: I have the "Original + Smart Preview" setting enabled in Lightroom Classic. Despite this, many of my photos are displaying as gray thumbnails. When I check the Library module, the histogram indicates that the "Original" is present, so the files are not missing. I've tried generating new previews by going to Library > Previews > Build Standard-Sized Previews, but the issue persists. I've also tried disabling the GPU setting under Preferences > Performance, but this didn't resolve the issue. I'm at a loss for what to try next. Has anyone else experienced this issue or can suggest further troubleshooting steps? Any help or insights would be g
Lightroom Classic version: 13.5 [ 202408062022-6258095b ] macOS 14.6.1 When requesting an export file does not contain camera data the resulting exported file does contain these metadata. It is important to note that while the camera's EXIF space data is stripped, that information is retained and included in the resulting exported file in XMP. Select an image choose File -> Export... to open the Export dialog Choose to 'Export to Hard Drive', make required output settings In the 'Metadata' section set 'Include' to 'All Except Camera & Camera Raw Info' and export Open the exported file using Photoshop, use File -> File Info... to view metadata Select 'Raw Data' to view <photoshop:CameraProfiles> Expected result is that the exported file doesn not contain any metadata relating to the camera, lens or settings used. Actual result is the file metadata does include details of camera including make, model, lens and exposure. This example
Is there any way to choose a different font when printing the "Photo Info" in Lightroom Classic? I would like to choose something different but don't see a way of changing that font. Help!

Q1 - I have seen posts suggesting the Smart Preview is limited to 2560/2540 pixels on the long side meaning that if the original is less than that that is the size of the Smart Preview, so for example a 2000 pixel image on the long side will have a Smart Preview that is 2000 pixels and won't be upsampled. Is there anything in Adobe's documentation that confirms this? I have not found it. This matters when synching a collection to Adobe Portfolio. Q2 - Does Adobe's documentation tell us which is correct 2560 or 2540? Doesn't matter that much but nice to know.
One of my camera's generates really small images: 1080 pixels square; but not all images in the catalog are that small. If I set the catalog to generate all smart previews so that I can edit off line, will it upscale those images? Should I set small images to 1:1 and use smart only for the larger images? Thanks!

lightroom classic print module is the best tool to print photo on my epson large format printer 44inch .i hope , i can set number of photo to be printed on a layout (single image / contact sheet ) with repeat one photo per page offso that i dont need drage same photo multiple time manually inside the layout .
Not sure this is a new bug or an issue with my catalogs or both, but after installing v13.5, LRC became very sluggish in several operations. Issues are not constant, they come and go every 5-10 minutes...I made a list: After editing a picture, it takes several seconds to update metadata When I am in develop module, I can not longer navigate to next or previous image using left or right arrows. I have to switch no library module to do that or click with the mouse in the desired image. Flagging or scoring images takes sometimes several seconds to show. Scores sometimes revert to previous score, seconds after changing the score. Sometimes a photo already edited, its thumbnail appears unedited for several seconds in library, then updates to edited. Metadata filters in Library take long to show values or filtered pictures. In Library, selecting light out to dim or off, sometimes does not work until entering develop module. Almost all operations related to updating metadata are slow.
