My computer is running Windows 11, Version 22H2, build 22621.3593. My version of LrC is 13.3.1. For the past 2 or 3 months, without warning LrC will simply close and I have to restart it. I have not been able to associate its closing with anything I am doing. I do not receive any error message at all when this happens. When I do restart, LrC never displays the image I was working on when it closed and similarly it never opens up to the same folder in my catalog. I have uninstalled and reinstalled LrC using the CC app, but that has not solved the problem. I assume that this behavior is due to some sort of bug. I have also noticed that LrC is using far more memory than it did in the past. Right now Task Manager is reporting that LrC is using 6,883.2 Mb of memory; right now I'm working on an image from my Canon R5 (51.2 Mb). Last evening, working on the same file, Lightroom was using over 10,000 Mb, which is far, far more than it has used in the past. I ha
I did some further edits on an image I had already exported as a JPG and selected "overwrite" when I re-exported it - the JPG does not show the edit in Library but does in Develop.
Hello, One of my friends has asked me for help because on their 2021 M1 Macbook Pro with XDR display, Lightroom Classic renders the photos too dark on screen, in both Library and Develop. The exported photos, when viewed with Preview, are brighter — and, as it turns out, correct: I verified this by exporting the same file on my 2019 Intel iMac. The two exported files side by side are identical. Since there's no difference between what I see in LRC on my machine vs the exported file, I would assume that this has something to do with Apple's new/changed color management on the XDR displays of the M1 MBP models? For what it's worth, in addition to the MBP's internal display there's also an external monitor attached to the machine, and LRC's rendition of the photos is too dark on that one, too. I would appreciate some pointers in the right direction... 🙂 ThanksAlex.
Merci d'avance.Arnaud
I have a problem in Lightroom with the display shown to me.After my editing in the development area it is in the library area much darker and looks like a bit unedited. (see the pictures below)Also if I´m in the develop area and I zoom inside to 100% it also looked unedit/darker. (Video - the green of the grass changed after zooming in)The strange thing is that it only affects some pictures in my folder but not all.And It appaered from one day to another. No LrC or MacOS update.Things I have tested:I changed to many different color profiles from my MacBook Pro M1 but everywhere it is the same. I also tested it with an external Display it is also the same.I cleared all my 1:1 Previews and Standard Previews. I also generated them newly. I cleared my Cache Folder. I optimized my LR catalog. I reboot my MacOS machine. I deactivated the GPU acceleration and activated it back again.I use MacOS 14.5 with LrC 13.2I hope someone can help me.
Ever since the last set of updates (about two or three weeks ago), Lightroom is almost unusable when using the "Develop" module. If I create a mask and try to add or subtract with a brush, it seems every stroke of the brush takes 10 - 15 seconds or more to show up. Adjusting the sliders sometimes happens right away and other times is completely unresponsive. Not sure what is happening, it used to run fine. Help!
I tried downloading LrC some time ago but it kept crashing, even an Adobe technician couldnt sort it. A year later and Ive tried again as I really want to use it, and I am paying for it, and although its better and I can at least use it , it still crashes regularly. Any answers ? After the latest update to Lr 13.2 & Camera Raw 16.2, i noticed all my photos folders have been populated with an xmp file for each image file, even those unedited! All these new xmp files have the same date of creation, May 1st, which around the time i updated Lr. The Lr option says "Automatically write changes into XMP" not generate a pointless sidecar for every imported photo, and i've had that checked for years, it seems it's only after the last update that it went crazy with it. And now, some photos in the catalog even have an alert icon saying the xmp settings have been changed outside of Lr (which can't be, i haven't even looked at them after the bulk import, much less edit them in some other software). Does anyone know what this is? Is it a bug or the intended way the new Lr update is supposed to work? I didn't mind a few xmp files (so that i see the same edits in CR and also as backup) but now doubling the number of items in each folder for pointless x
Ever since I updated to Lightroom version 13.1(?), the program keeps crashing! I have uninstaled and reinstalled Lightroom MULTIPLE times and the progra continues to crash for no apparent reason. Is it time to revert to another non Adobe program????
Usually synchronize all picture folders in LR to see any new files added. Did the same after updating to 13.3 the other day. At the end of the day, all data is manually synchronize to as second PC. To my surprise, the program had flagged some 18,000 changed files. To cut a long story short, LR had written new xmp data to all these raw files, including directories dating back to 2010. To clarify, raw data was written to a single Database in older days. However, this shouldn't be happening without my knowledge
Hi All, I am running LR Classic 13.3 and I have the option selected to Automatically Write Meta Changes to XMP files. I still get the prompt that it's writing changes to XMP files when I exit even if I have had LR sitting idle for hours. LR used to just instantly update the XMP files so when I exited I didn't have to wait. It's as if LR is now cycling through the XMP info stored in it's system to see if anything has changed, even if I just open LR and immediately close it without making any edit whatsoever. This is very inefficient. Why isn't the Auto Write Met changes to XMP option not working as expected? Thanks,Randy
Seemingly recently, I've noticed that with every change I make to a local file Lightroom goes through and tries to read every single image in my SMB mounted drive. I watched iotop on my nas drive and can confirm that Lightroom is "reading" every single file with every, single, change. And again to reiterate, the files I am changing are local on this machine. This is making editing painfully slow as it's sending/receiving so much garbage data (I have 40k+ photos). This also makes closing the application take minutes as it's "writing XMP files" for files I haven't touched this session... The drive is mounted via SMB in Windows. Permissions are correct on the NAS side as I can read/write from Windows Explorer just fine.Temporarily I can disconnect the drive but that's kind of a pain long term to have to re-add the drive in Windows.Any thoughts or ideas I can try? I recently bought lightroom & photoshop together, if i wanted to cancel its going to charge me a huge fee. I dont want to cancel photoshop.. but i want to switch to lightroom classic instead of regular classic, is there anyway to do this without having to cancel my orignal plan... and without having to pay for all 3 lol.
I've been using a smart collection to export all edited photos at once, randomly most of the photos I scroll through are showing " has edits " when I didn't edit them. I can't for the life of me figure it out.
I've been experiencing significant performance issues with Adobe Lightroom and I'm hoping to get some advice or solutions from the community. While editing photos in Lightroom, I've noticed that the system becomes very slow and unresponsive. Specifically, when I try to adjust parameters (such as exposure, contrast, etc.), the mouse pointer gets stuck or lags for 1 to 3 seconds before it responds to my movements. This lag makes it incredibly difficult to make precise adjustments and disrupts my workflow significantly. Additionally, zooming in and out of images is extremely slow. There is a noticeable delay before the zoom action completes, and sometimes the system seems to freeze momentarily during this process. All softwares and drivers are up-to-date. Hello there,I'm on Lightroom Classic 8.2 and I have been trying to geotag my pictures by dragging them on the map as I've seen people do in many videos. However, this is not working, after I dropped the picture nothing happens. No point created on the map and still no GPS coordinate in the metadata.Mind you, I am very fresh with Lightroom so the mistake is probably on my side, I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.Thank you in advance.
Since downloading this update I have had nothing but trouble on my desktop Mac, running Sonoma. The program is very, very slow in moving from one photo to another and I can no longer access Topaz Studio 2 or Nik applications directly from LR. What is the solution to resolve these issues?
So, after updating to 13.3.1 (Mac OS Sonoma 14.5) I was still having "syncing 15 images" stuck forever with zero images in the "sync errors" folder. I decided to "rebuild sync data" and clicked on that button and Lightroom restarted and set the sycn on pause. I have pressed "resume sync" and the 15 images syncing are still there, but no RE-syncing of the whole lot (I have thousands of images). After pressing the "rebuild sync data" button, Am I supposed to wait leaving sync on pause untill it is reinabled automatically? Why the heck Adobe does not tell us what to do next after we press that "rebuild sync" button, and why the heck there is no progress message saying like "rebuilding sync data 20% done"?
I have a problem with importing RAW files. Each import ends up in LR crashing. There is a spike in CPU usage then crash. SetupLR 13.3114th Gen i9RTX4080 supernvme All drivers updated. In order to somehow do some work with files i have to import them in batches. (50-200 at a time). Anybody had that issue?
When I am importing large numbers of pictures at once, lightroom classic causes my whole computer to crash. Usually 1,000 or more pictures. It's a mac and I always see a pink screen right before it restarts. Before the computer crashes the whole computer grinds to a hault, I can't move the mouse or use the keyboard eventually, then it crashes. I don't know if this is relevent information but it might help. It's a mac studio with the M1 max chip. Lightroom version 12.5. I'm importing pictures to a NAS. The Lightroom library lives on an externally connected SSD drive.
Hello, Lightroom Classic 13.3.1 will not open on my Mac Book Pro running OS Ventura 13.6.7. The program begins to open, appears on the dock then dissapears. I have deinstalled and re installed several times and updated my laptop. Any other suggestions? Thanks! [moving from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]
Hi all! For the first time I thought I'd try the Lightroom Slideshow tab to get an important job done quickly... simple yeah? I tested it with full sized images from my library and all looked good - however I needed to use reduced size images sent to me by my fellow club members - and this gave me a big problem. Despite clicking "Zoom to fill frame" - it didn't! All the images were displayed in a reduced frame despite the image appearing perfect when in the editing stage - as soon as I press play the images shrink! And this isn't cured by saving as a video file - same deal... If I replace the images with originals from my library all looks good - but all the other images were 1600x1200 max. Anyone else have this problem? In the end I used my video editing software (now Da Vinci - was Premiere pro (sorry)) - and this did the trick, eventually, but I really wanted to use the metadata from the images which a video editor doesn't expect to
Hallo zusammen!
Gracias.
I have a Windows 11 PC using LrC 13.3.1 and 64 GB RAM. Up until yesterday, the Select People Mask worked beautifully. Now, every change on a component of the mask such as face, schlera, iris and pupil, and the rest of them are GLOBAL within the mask. It is like the system is working on the initial select people mask only instead of creating all the component of the mask to adjust manually. I love the feature but now it appears to be broken. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall LrC [groan]? Why did this happen? The problem repeats despite repeated reboots and reopening of LrC. I click on the image, select the person from the images of people created, and then choose which selections to adjust. Every change is like the latter function, creating the individual components, did not materialize in the selection list [but they are there and I checked the ones I wanted] when I clicked on Create Mask. They all show up on the list but when any changes are made, the change
