I just updated to Lightroom Classic 14.4 and although I do like the fact that I can Denoise without creating a DNG file, I still would like the option to select a series of images and menu: Photo>Enhance... to let it create dngs in the background which enables me to work on other images while it;s doing those. Currently, in 14.4 it takes a long time, especially if I have multiple images that I am denoising and I cannot do anything elese while it's doing that process. Is there still a way possible to do it the old previous way of creating a DNG Denoised file? Seems like an oversight when implementing this new way and slows down my whole workflow.
In LR 15.2, Help > Map Module Shortcuts shows the wrong keys for Show Filter Bar in these four languages: Language Shown Should Be DE \ < ES \ , FR \ $ SV \ ,
The entries for the keyboard shortcuts for assigning the Purple color label were omitted from the TranslatedStrings.txt files in LR 15.2:"$$$/AgLibrary/Menu/Photo/Label/Toggle5AndNextShortcut=""$$$/AgLibrary/Menu/Photo/Label/Toggle5Shortcut="These entries are defined for English (in LibraryLabels.lua). The entries appeared in TranslatedStrings in previous versions of LR:
I unselected the “Enable hover preview of presets, history and snaphots in Loupe” option in the preferences but even though it is turned off, it is still previewing in case of hovering the mouse over any history state of snapshot. It doesn’t do the preview on the presets, but it is still previews the history and snapshots which it is not supposed to do, because the option is purposely turned off.Lightroo Classic 15.2
In Lightroom Classic grid mode, the top toolbar now covers part of the grid. In full-screen mode I can't even see the file names. Is this something I can fix here?
The new lens blur function generates a depth map from images without depth information. It would be nice to be able to use this depth map for mask creation. Right now only lumance and color range is support here, but depth range is disabled if the image doesn't contain a depth map. In this case an AI generated depth map could be used to enable depth range based masks even if no depth data is recorded in the image.
I’m laboriously working on ridding my computer of duplicate images. I wonder if anyone has developed a technique les tedious than what I’m doing. I know LR doesn’t find duplicates so this is what I’m doing now:Run a duplicate file finder program that lists the duplicatesCheck LR (version 4.4) to see if they are in it.If both are, I mark one as rejected and proceed to the next in the listIf only one is, I use Windows Explorer to confirm the non LR image is indeed on my computer and delete it in Explorer, sometimes moving the LR image to the folder of my choiceIf neither is there, I import one to LR, and delete the other in Explorer.Filter LR images for the rejected attribute and delete all these from the disk Am I making this harder than it should be? How are you all dealing with eliminating duplicates? Thanks, hal
Since LrC 15 I get this popup: Smart previews have been the single thing that kept Lightroom Classic moving decently for me, even when my Macbook was brand new, even when I made super powerful workstations before that. Lightroom Classic has always been slow loading original images, no matter what I did, except for enabling the use of smart previews. Now the app says I should disable the only thing making usable for someone editing thousands of pics at a time. Now I have to go through several steps when I need one of the new models (because working with smart previews does indeed lower the output quality), then go through several steps again to enable the use of smart previews, when the only logical thing to do was probably a single line of code saying “if CurrentPic.source == SmartPreview {CurrentPic.source == Original} when using one of the features needing originals. Please fix this simple yet horrendous user experience bug asap.
I have been using LR for many years and have had no problem with dragging images in the film strip to reorder them. Recently, this has become very erratic. Sometimes it works okay other times, even though the cursor shows I have picked up the image, when I drop it it either just returns to the original place, drops somewhere random or even sometimes another image will randomly change place.I have tried shutting down and restarting both my laptop and LR but the problem persists. I have the order set to, ‘custom’. I have also collapsed and reopened the filmstrip. The problem also occurs in the library module using grid view. What once took my 5 minutes is now taking hours, it’s very frustrating. Any help would be great.Dave
In moving to a new MacBook Air I lost a year’s worth of photos even though backed up with both Backblaze and an external drive. That is history. How can I create photos from my smart previews on this new computer. It tells me the MacBook Air won’t do it. All I can come up with is taking a screenshot.. Thanks for any help.
Currently in the SDK we have LrApplicationView.getSecondaryViewName()We need to have the same BUT for the “main screen” view and thus be able to detect which view we are in the Library module. So Please implement an API to get the current “main view”Hypothetical API LrApplicationView.getMainViewName()Returns the name of the view currently showing on the main screenReturn valueviewName (string) The name of the main view being shown, one of: "loupe", "live_loupe", "locked_loupe", "grid", "compare", "survey", "slideshow", or nil.
Hello,I am currently using the Content Credentials feature when exporting photos from Lightroom, and I am encountering a couple of issues.1. Creator name not consistently visibleWhen exporting a photo, I configure the Content Credentials so that my name is included. However:On https://verify.contentauthenticity.org/, my name does not appear On LinkedIn, the credentials also do not display my name But on https://contentauthenticity.adobe.com/inspect, my name does appear correctlyThis raises the question: why is the “producer”/creator information visible in Adobe’s Inspect tool but not on other verification platforms?2. Original image still visible despite settingsWhen exporting, I explicitly untick the option that allows the original image to be shown. However, both:https://verify.contentauthenticity.org/ https://contentauthenticity.adobe.com/inspectstill display the original image. This suggests that the export settings may not be applied correctly, or that there is an issue with how the
I had to reinstall lightroom classic on my old Mac. Adobe support used remote Desktop to install it for me. Version 13.0. Unfortunately all of my catalogs are 13.3 and not compatible with this older version.Any idea how to update this version? The latest versions from creative cloud are not compatible with this machine. Thanks
Every time i try and edit photos in develop mode it keeps saying some masking models are being downloaded. ive reinstalled the app on my laptop and it still says the same thing. i cant use any filters from classic.
Description of IssueWhen I send a photo from Lightroom Classic to Topaz Photo and return it to Lightroom, Lightroom Classic sometimes shows this warning:“Topaz Photo either failed to start or did not finish successfully. Exit code: 3221225477”However, the image is usually processed correctly and returned to Lightroom with the edits applied. The issue appears to be intermittent. It happens when Topaz Photo is using the GPU. If I set Topaz Photo’s AI Processor to CPU, the warning does not appear.I also observed that system RAM and GPU memory were well below full usage at the time of the warning, so this does not appear to be a simple out-of-memory condition.Lightroom Classic Version Number (Help > System Info…)Lightroom Classic 15.2.1 ReleaseCamera Raw 18.2.2OS Version NumberWindows 10 Pro 22H2OS Build 19045Camera Model (sometimes necessary)Not camera-specific.Tested with an existing image in Lightroom Classic during external editing to Topaz Photo.Step-by-step Reproduction Instruction
I have run LRC on my Windows 10 PC for ages without a problem. Suddenly it refuses to open. If I click on the App, the wheel spins breifly, disappears and LRC doesn't open. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the LRC App but LRC still will not open. The App version is up to date (V 13.3)
When I try to open LrC a system error pops up, "The code execution cannot proceed because mfc140u.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem" I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, and it still pops up.
Lightroom Classic won't open, writes that my catalog is corrupt, cannot be used until it is repaired, and then nothing happens. *updated title by Community Manager for more clarity.

The panel scroll bar and close panel bar arrow section are annoyingly close together. On a 4K monitor (and possibly lower resolutions) the panel scroll bar is so thin that it's easy to press the close button instead. This is frustrating when trying to select the appropriate tool and you just keep closing/unclosing the panels. Is it possible to either increase the size of the scroll bar, be able to lock the panel in place or a mix of the two. Cheers,
Hi,I’ve been dealing with an issue that Lightroom uses too much memory when batch exporting photos, resulting in a memory usage of up to 60GB on a 48GB MacBook Pro.This causes a significant slowdown, and a very high system total I/O written count which wears down my SSD. The issue does not show up and Lightroom stays between 20-30GB of memory if I manually export every photo one by one. My question: Is there a way to stop Lightroom from trying to export multiple photos in the queue at the same time? It’s not even faster because the system is constantly waiting to get data in/out of swap, so I’d be significantly better off without parallel exports.Lightroom 15.2.1MacOS 15.7.3MacBook Pro M3 Max (16”), 48GB ram
This is only my second time trying to use this since purchasing and it won't allow itself to create a temporary folder for some reason.
Lightroom version 14.1 is not working. (It converted my catalog and then said it's corrups and can't be fixed. ) I tried reverting back to an older verions, but Lightroom insistes that my catalog be converted and that I update to the latest version. How can I continue to use the older version?-DeniseWin 10
I am using LrC 15.2.1 on a 16" M2 Pro 12/19 Macbook Pro 32gb/1tb, MacOS 15.7.5 and it is connected to a larger external display. Been like this for the last 3+ years since I bought this computer. I use LrC everyday and I have it on my big display. Strangely, today when I use it though it has started doing something I have never seen it do in the 15 years I have been using LrC. On my big display is the normal LrC window with the grid, but on my laptop display there is the loupe window. If I explicitly click on the grid icon at the top of the loupe view to try and get rid of the window on the laptop the result is that on the big display it changes to the loupe view (but still the main LrC window) and on the laptop it changes to a grid display.I can't figure out how this got started. Did I do something, maybe accidentally typed a shortcut? How do I get rid of this extra window on the laptop? I have tried exiting LrC and restarting, but the same thing. I rebooted, but still the sa
