I’m using Lightroom Classic 15.2.1 on Mac with Canon R5 RAW+JPEG B&W.I usually rely on embedded previews to see the JPEGs in B&W, but since I received a previews’s error when starting Lightroom today, LR gradually rebuilds all images in color. When I access to any folder in my Lybrary module, LR starts rebuilding all my BW previews to color.I’ve deleted Previews.lrdata, cleared the Camera Raw cache, and set previews to Low/1024, but it still converts thumbnails to color. I need a way to keep the JPEG B&W previews in Library without Lightroom regenerating them from the RAW.Can someone help me to solve this?Kind regards.
Hello. I am experiencing an issue with Lightroom Classic. In the Library module, my photos are not displaying. Instead of thumbnails, I only see gray placeholders.I have already tried the following steps:Generated Standard and 1:1 previews Deleted the Previews.lrdata file Reset Lightroom preferences (Alt + Shift on startup) Restarted the application Verified that files are not missing (no "?" icon) Tested with a new catalog (the issue persists)Additional details:File format: Sony .ARW (RAW) OS: Windows Catalog stored on local diskThe problem seems related to preview generation or RAW decoding. Please advise on how to fix this issue.I can provide screenshots and sample files if needed.

Following a discussion on the LR4 beta forum: Converting to CMYK and soft proofing in CMYK are two completely different things, so at least we need a CMYK softproofing. During the last years I ran into a lot of problems due to modern LED lightning on the scene, it is able to produce colors (especially in the blues) far away out of the CMYK color space. Converting pictures to CMYK later after my initial processing can change a picture dramatically, a bit similar to a conversion to b/w. So even if you have to deliver your material in RGB and someone else is doing a professional conversion later, you should be able to predict what can happen to your material! So if you deliver material that will be converted – earlier or later – to CMYK: You need at least a simple soft proof. Otherwise it can happen that you deliver material that simply can’t be published.
I am unable to open Sony ARW files (Lossless Compressed RAW) created by a Sony A1 (ILCE-1) cameras running firmware Ver. 4.00. I am using the latest version of LrC 15.2.1 release and Camera Raw 18.2.2. Has anyone faced the same problem? Any solution would be much appreciated.
Lightroom hasn’t been giving me any AI suggestions for editing photos for almost two weeks now. Is there an explanation for this? However, it does work on the web version.
I’m trying to create a Keyboard Maestro macro that will automate the selection of 4x3 crop in the Crop and Straighten Panel.I’ve tried a half a dozen approved but none seem to work. The first one uses click on Found Image to select the Original Dropdown and then another Found Image to select the 4 x 3 Aspect Ratio The next try uses the same click on Found Image but instead uses Insert Text by Typing (I’ve also tried Insert Text by pasting) The Other version I’ve tried is Select or Show a Menu Item None of these seem to work I know… I’m hitting the Original Dropdown because when I hit go it lines up perfectly with the dropdown area. I’m new to Keyboard Maestro so any suggestions as to what I’m doing wrong would be greatly appreciated?? - CES
when I click on lightroom classic it starts to open, but then closes
Ai Masks/Healing constantly undo and need updated. For example: - Use Ai mask on a few photos through-out a photo set.- Go through photos to make sure I'm happy before exporting and see the error "Some Ai masks need updated" - Update all Ai error messages through-out the photo set.- Go through the photos again before I export and I see the same message again. This is infuriating me as I now need to update two Ai settings and then export those two photos and move on to the next two Ai errors to export those separately. This is the only way for me to export photos with Ai settings working. I've just got a a brand new MacBook Pro 16-inch M2 Pro 12-core CPU 19-core GPU 32GB/1TB and one of the main reasons I updated was because I thought my last laptop wasn't powerful enough to handle the Ai on Lightroom. Turns out, it's just a bug?!
I would like too see the mask marked in red (my mask) in the list marked in blue (options) in attached screen shot. Better if LR can automatically (using AI like body parts in portrait pictures) create some luminance and color masks too.
Can we please get a client review system from Lightroom Classic or Lightroom Web for shared albums that allow the client to see, view, and sort their hearts and others hearts. They need the ability to turn on and off all the other photos that have not been rated by them or others as well. It’s impossible to use Lightroom and I need to switch from using the application and platform because there is no easy way to share an album that allows a client control over the review process. The client currently does not have the ability to sort images by my ratings, flags, or color labels. They can’t see flags, color labels, or ratings no matter the access level given. They can’t sort by their own hearts or comments. They can’t see others hearts or comments. The whole ecosystem only allows one person to do anything and no way to have a client satisfied with their control to review the images in a shared album. This current ecosystem makes Lightroom non-professional and not fitting for a
Hi Could you please consider replacing the current jpeg export code used by Lightroom / Camera raw with jpegli ? I tested it and it's compression efficiency is much better than the one you currently use, resulting in smaller jpeg files for same quality or better quality files for same size Thank you https://opensource.googleblog.com/2024/04/introducing-jpegli-new-jpeg-coding-library.html https://github.com/libjxl/libjxl/blob/main/lib/jpegli/README.md https://github.com/google/jpegli

I am experiencing a persistent and reproducible issue with Generative Remove in Lightroom Classic 15.0.1.The AI removal does not remain applied to the image. When I return to a previously edited photo, the generative removal is missing and a yellow “Update AI” button appears. After clicking “Update AI”, the edit reappears—however, once I continue editing other images, the generative removal disappears again. This happens consistently across a large project of approximately 100 RAW images. My setup: Lightroom Classic 15.0.1macOS 15.7.2Mac Studio M1 Max64 GB RAMFast internal SSDGPU set to Auto Symptoms: Generative Remove works correctly on the first image. After editing several more images, returning to earlier images shows that the generative removal is gone.A yellow “Update AI” button appears on affected images.Clicking the button restores the edit, but it disappears again later during continued work. This makes batch export impossible, because only the most
Description of Issue:When I was adjusting the temp and tint of a sunset landscape photo, I noticed a slightly bright band between the orange glow at the horizon and blue sky. The band was bright, but subtile, and it moved down from the top of the image as I reduced the temp past -7000K and/or increased tint to 40-ish on this particular image. A recording and the raw file are attached. If the sky has an even colour and temp, then I won’t see this issue. Only during sunrise and sunset, when the horizon is much warmer than the rest of the sky. When I create a new collection in Lightroom Classic 15.2 in order to sync photos from my Mac to other devices (iPad + iPhone), sometimes none of the photos will sync, sometimes a couple only will. What is strange is that if I stay in the Collection folder and make a virtual copy of an “unsyncable” photo and make edits to it, that virtual copy will get synced, but the original photo will remain unsynced. When I look at “diagnostic” in the Synch section of the settings, all it will say under “Error/Synch details” is “Image”, which is not helpful at all. I’ve tried rebuilding the sync data more than once, but it didn’t work. I never used to have sync problems before 15.2, so I hope this can be fixed. Thanks!
Once I process all of my photos, my workflow is to delete all of the “rejects” and then rename the remaining photos sequentially. I use the following workflowSelect all photos Library | Rename Photos File Naming: Custom Settings Edit… [Custom Text] - [Sequence # (0001)] Custom Text: “DATE EVENT LOCATION” Start Number: 1 [OK] Expected Result All files are renamed like “DATE EVENT LOCATION - 0001.cr2”, “DATE EVENT LOCATION - 0002.cr2”, ... Actual Result Most file are properly renamed About 20 out of 4,000 photos from a particular shoot will be renamed (for a reason I don’t understand, hence the bug report) with a post-pended “-2” “DATE EVENT LOCATION - 0700.cr2” “DATE EVENT LOCATION - 0701-2.cr2” <--- unexpected result “DATE EVENT LOCATION - 0702.cr2” This is on a MacBook Pro M4 Max (stock with 4 TB internal) running Tahoe 28.3.1(a) on Lightroom Classic 15.2.1. This appears less professional than I would like and makes it seem as if there is a “original” v
Hi everyone,I am entering in a student photography competition and I just want some feedback on my photos before I submit them. Thank you in advance
I purchased a subscription for Lightroom and Photoshop. However, recently when I try to open the Lightroom desktop version, nothing happens—it doesn't open, and no error message appears. The same thing happens with Lightroom Classic. Meanwhile, Photoshop opens and works normally.
When Rename Photo is applied to a virtual copy, the Example line in the dialog uses the virtual copy’s metadata, but the actual rename uses the original’s metadata. They should both use either the virtual copy’s metadata or the original’s metadata. (I think it’s more useful and less confusing for the actual rename to use the virtual copy’s metadata, but assuming the current behavior is “as designed” rather than “as coded”, then the Example line should be fixed to use the original’s metadata.) To reproduce on LR 15.2.1 / Mac OS 26.2: 1. Download and open the attached tiny catalog. It contains the original x.jpg and a virtual copy of x.jpg. All the editable metadata fields of the original contain “j” (for JPEG) or the number 1, while those fields of the virtual copy contain “v” (for virtual copy) or the number 2. 2. Select the virtual copy and do Library > Rename Photo. 3. Edit the template to contain just the token Title. Observe that Example: says “v.jpg” (since the virtual copy’s
Currently the Previous button is useful, PROVIDED you only want to apply those setttings on the next image you select. But what happens if you are scrolling past multiple frames of the same scene and then decide you want to apply those ‘previous’ settings, then you have to go back to that original edit and copy/paste it. It’s a total waste of time, especially if, like me, you use copy and paste to store your preset look adjustments to speed up workflow (so you don’t have to go up and click on the preset for each image for large volume event / product edits). Please modify the Previous button so it doesn't forget the last edit when you click on more than one other thumbnail (as happens now) and the workflow will be supercharged. Or at least make this AN OPTION YOU CAN TOGGLE on/off on the PREVIOUS BUTTON. I cannot tell you how much going back and forth this would eradicate - with Copy/Paste for your preset look together with previous for the last ‘entire’ edit (incl. crop / remove, etc)
Can I export full size jpeg to an external hard drive instead of burning to CD or DVD?
Create collection in LR not working. I click the button, nothing happens. Even with Smart Collection too.. no error message or anything. I’ve tried to reset the preferences, I created a duplicate/new catalog. Nothing is working. Also, I can duplicate a collection, but I cannot rename it..
Hi everyone,I'm having an export issue in Lightroom Classic. When I export a processed photo, the result is brighter and has less contrast than the original in Lightroom.I've tried exporting as a 16-bit TIFF using all available color spaces (sRGB, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto RGB). When I re-import the exported file back into Lightroom to compare it side-by-side with the RAW, it is still brighter. This confirms the issue isn't coming from a Windows viewer or a display profile.Even the histograms in Lightroom are noticeably different between the RAW and the exported TIFF. Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas why this is happening? Thank you in advance :)
When trying to import a large amount of RAW files from a folder from Google Drive Client into Lighroom Classic, it hangs and stop reacting and has to be stopped by “killing” LR Classic. To verify if that problem has to do with the large size I tried the following steps:Moving the folder with large size(23 GB) from Google Drive to another location which is not on Google Drive → LR Classic Import works fine Creating a new folder whith much smaller file size on Google Drive → LR Classic Import works fine Trying to import large folder(23 GB) from Google Drive → LR Classic hangs and stops reacting I verfied:Files in Google Drive are fully synced Google Drive latest version installed Version info:LR Classic 15.2.1Windows 11 x64 25H2 26200.7462Google Drive Client 122.0.1.0
