Lightroom Classic

When I try to open Lightroom classic on my desktop it gives me this error.Lightroom cannot create or open a catalog name LightroomCatalog-2-2-v10v11-v12-v13-v13-4-2" on volume local disk (C:) because the preview cache paths would exceed the maximum path length for your platform.How do I go about fixing this problem

My Show Folders in Subfolders is turned on. At first I thought that might be the problem because it wasn't. Turning it on didn't help.I'm manually dragging photos onto the map. I map the photos in one folder (I file by day) and when I go to another folder and open the map for the SAME LOCATION none of the photos I previously pinned to that location show up.Here's an example where for Day 1 I mapped 17 photos for one location. Then I go to Day 2 and open the map and none of those from Day 1 are showing up. I drag 3 of them onto that same location and it displays the total number there as being 3.  I believe this is a BUG!It makes manually positioning images at the same locations extremely difficult because unless one is at exactly the same zoom setting on the map, positioning new photos at the same location is inaccurate ...particularly when the location has no visible name or icon to use as the anchor point. I tried calling Support but as usual the call gets cut off, especial

I just updated or have tried to update the latest LRC. I had moved my files from another computer to my new computer. On the old computer, my files were stored on a Drive called the E drive. On the new computer, it is on my D drive. LRC was working fine with this change. I initiated the update to the newest version of LRC. LRC screen comes up, and I get this message Cannot write to the following Directory EI am unable to open any of my files. How do I redirect the path to the correct location on the D drive?I am not very computer savvy. Thanks for any help!

Hi everyone! Out of nowhere, after I imported some new images into my catalog, LR started showing the folders twice in the Folders panel. I have one big catalog, ordered by YEAR, with each year's folder ordered by the date images were taken.Now, the IMAGES folder has been split into two panels, with some folders appearing twice in the original folder and others in a new one that appeared from nowhere! I tried to move those folders from the new panel to the first one, but LR says the folder already exists at that location, and in fact, the folder structure has never changed on my hard drive.I asked LR to synchronize the 2025 folder, and it has moved all the sub-folders to the new images panel. Has anyone seen this before? I was thinking of creating a new catalog, but recreating all the previews will take a long time.The two IMAGES drives in the LR panel point to the exact same location in my Synology drive (smb://172.16.65.2/Images), and the folder structure is shown below.Any help

When I export using the settings shown in the image, the export is fast but the "Add to the Catalog" action is EXTREMELY SLOW.  You can't really do anything else in LR while the background add to catalog is happening because it resets everything after each image is added so you can't scroll or anything and when you are exporting 75-100 images it TAKES FOREVER and kills the entire efficiency of the process.   My setup is very similar to OP in that I have an export preset to rename, resize and place files in a sub folder of original folder and then add them to the catalog.  Again, the export happens very quickly but the last part of adding the exported images back to the catalog is excruciatingly slow. This has been a problem for a while but I really would like to get it resolved.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I have read more than a dozen of threads on the topic and still ...I have my sensitive photos in a folder encrypted with cryptomator.When I split my catalogue and create a sensitive photo catalogue in that encrypted folder LCR 14.2 sends an error message when I'm trying to open the catalogue.So even with the folder encrypted I can still see the previews in LCR.How can I change that?Many thanks!

Hi - i receive this error for about 20% of the photos I am exporting in Lightroom Classic. In Lightroom cloud for the same photo set, I do not receive an error when downloading but the same files that error in Classic do not download from LR Cloud. Classic throws this error: Unable to download original/proxy file Each file is then listed with (proxy_unavailable) next to each file. Any ideas?

Using Mac LR Classic 11.4.1 CR 14.4.1 on Big Sur 11.6.1. This printing issue has been around for awhile, at least a year, perhaps. If I try to print, say, a contact sheets of 30 images in a 3x3 grid with filenames under each, the first page prints fine with the correct size font and with the full filename. On subsequent pages, though, the full filename is clipped at one line. This occurs for long filenames which take multiple lines with bigger font sizes. First page is correct, subsequent pages have truncated captions. The coding problem may have something to do with whether all the filenames are long or not from page 2 onward. If there are some filenames which can fit on one line, LR perhaps thinks that is all the spacing that's needed for the caption on subsequent pages, so they are all just showing one line. Just a guess.

When in library mode and in single photo view, as soon as I navigate to a video LrC crashes. I sent in at least one crash report. I've seen this noted about earlier versions and claims to have been fixed / not reproducible but I still have this problem making LrC virtually unusable for me. I have not used LrC for about 18 months (though continued with my subscription) so I don't know when the problem appeared. I first encountered this on 14.5.1. I first noticed an upgrade on the Lightroom mobile v11. So upgarded on phone and tablet. Did a few edits on a few photos testing the enhance snow and blemishes new feature. All my photos in mobile (ie Cloud) are sync with smart collection to actual photos in the LrC which I keep running 24x7.Upgraded the LrC the following day to v15. It upgraded the v14.4 catalog but says the catalog it just upgraded to be corrupted.  On relaunch it tried to repair and upon repiared and relaunch again it still report the same problem ie need to repair.I reverted to LrC 14.4 and 14.4 catalog launches without problem but reported newer version of metadata. I was able to stop the sync and can use the LrC 14.4 without problems. I optimise the v14.4 catalog and reinstall v15, however same problem persists.Need help to get V15 running. Either Adobe update the v15 to cater for this use case or provide instructions to remove all the new edits using the new features I did with Lightroom mobile V1

Anlegen eines Referenzbildes, in dem alle Hotpixel bereits weggestempelt wurden2. dieses Referenzbild zu Beginn jedes Workflows mit allen anderen Bildern synchronisierenFrage: Kann ich dieses Referenzbild im Katalog gegen versehentliches Löschen sichern ? Hola a toda la comunidad. Trabajo haciendo culling y revelado para terceros. Desde la última versión de Lrc Octubre de 2025 al compartir los catálogos la otra parte no puede asociar las fotos. Esto es un problema realmente urgente y grave para mi. Siempre se trabajó de la misma forma y nunca hubo tales problemas.Las máquinas una es windows y la otra Mac. Yo trabajo con archivos dng (tipo proxy) y el fotógrafo tiene los raw originales, aclarado esto siempre se trabajó así y nunca hubo problemas.¿A alquien le pasó lo mismo o tiene idea de por qué en esta última versión tenemos esta falla?

The latest version of Lightroom supports Fujifilm camera Tethering, but the file names of the photos taken after connection are changed to file names such as DSC_0001.raf instead of the file names originally set in the camera. This makes shooting very annoying. Even if you use the old version of Fujifilm Tethering plugin, you will get two files with different file names when taking a photo. If Lightroom cannot save the original file names in the camera, I would rather let us only use Fujifilm Tethering plugin, at least it can ensure that the file names of the photos taken on the computer and in the camera memory card are the same   Camera: GFX100iiLightroom Classic 14.4 for Mac

Adobe said there was a problem and replaced my later version of Lightroom Classic with a much older one. Clicking on the drop down menu I no longer see the option of selecting different versions. I tried uninstalling but the reinstalled version is still the old one.  How can I get me newer catalogue back?

Nach dem Bearbeiten der im zweiten Schritt imporiterten Bilder, wollte ich auf den Katalog der im ersten Schritt importierten Bilder zugreifen.Dies habe ich über den Backup Ordner versucht.Dann erschien die Meldung "Lightroom - Katalog Lightroom Catalog.zip wird geöffnet und dann passierte nichts mehr.Nach mehrmaligem Neustarten meines Rechners habe ich Lightroom deistalliert und neu installiert. Das Problem bleibt bestehen.Was kann ich da machen?Ich habe (noch) keinen Entzipper auf meinem Rechner installiert. Kann mir da jemand helfen?

I had been working on the collection set up until a few days ago, had exited lightroom then had used it for an unrelated collection. I then upgraded to 15.0 and the entire collection set disappeared. Does anyone have any hints on how I might recover it? thank you

Hi all,I came across some issues when importing RAW files from my Nikon Z9 into LR. I did some searching and I've seen similar problems, so that's why I would like to share what I found. And it seems that other questions pop up when searching through this issue, so advice is welcome! My original problem:when I import RAW images - made by my Nikon Z9 - into LR, I see in the develop mode that automatic adjustments are made (cfr screenshots).> the adjustments include exposure, contrast, white balance, vibrancy, excessive sharpening and noise reduction> the amount of adjustments vary from photo to photo, on one photo the noise reduction is higher than on another photo, the same with other adjustments.> the adjustments only take place on the RAW images, not on the JPG version My actions so far:Nikon Z9- Picture Control is set to Auto with all settings set to 0- Active D-Lighting is set to OFF- high ISO noise reduction is set to OFF Lightroom Classic- in the RAW

I have 1800 photos in the adobe cloud taken with my iphone 13 that have already been synched to LRC on my desktop. Unfortunately, I have lost the copy of these images made on an external HD during the import process. On LRC these images are in my synched photos file. Is there some way I can reimport these synched photos so that I can have a new copy sent to a new external HD where I now store my photos?

Hey-- I searched everwhere I could to find a solution to the problem of Lightroom freezinf as soon as I entered the Import pictures screen. I was temted to throw a house brick at me computer.  TRrying older versions, going back to old restore points all useless Finally uninstalling Lightroom completely--- Got rid of old catalogue files anf all that was listed in the options for un installing. Reinstalled the program, had to recatalogue all my photos but the problem appears to have been solved. Hi,   I use Lightroom Classic with a Hungarian keyboard and I would like to be able to see the original state of the photos. I can do this with the Y key, but the \ key doesn't work (on my Hungarian keyboard it's the AltGr + Q key). I have read many articles and many forum posts about this error. It seems that this is a common error with national character keyboards (I have read about such a problem with e.g. German and Dutch keyboards as well). In a couple of places, I came across such a evasive solution proposal that a configuration file must be created under Lightroom and the new hotkey can be entered in one line. I tried this too (maybe wrongly), but it didn't help either. I have the latest version of everything on my machine. I use Widows 11 in Hungarian, with a Hungarian keyboard. Maybe it would be worth combining the related forum posts, or if there is a workaround that works in all languages, then make it public. Of course, it would be best if Lightroom handled keyboards c
