I am following indesign book by adobe and it says to go to layout -> create alternate layout ->iPad V. It will automatically create another page and make my design vertical. Im then supposed to export this vertical version. But I cannot preview it. I cannot export it properly. I don't know what I should screenshot? Everything looks fine on indesign. It wont change anything till I open it in Adobe Digital Editions.

Please be kind, im just a beginner, trying to get through my first exercise. I created a "slideshow", it has 5 images, and with arrow buttons I can scroll through the images, and I also added a word "vacation". After exporting, I can use the arrows to change images but the font changes to something different. How do I keep it from changing? I am using typekit font. Second question I have, is when the instructions say to create an alternative layout. It makes it a vertical version. When I try to preview this vertical version, it does not fit in the Object States panel preview, so I cannot test the arrow buttons. When I export it anyway, it wont fit in Adobe Digital Editions. I can only see top half of it. What am I doing wrong? thank you so much!

Hey, thanks! When I do that. And add left indent, it adds it to the beginning of a paragraph just like I want it to, but then it also adds it to places where I don't want it. And when I go to those spots where I don't want it, I cant get rid of it. Is there a way to fix that?

but bleed is added to the page, not margin? and when an image goes over the margin and to the bleed..will all of it print? or does everything absolutely have to be inside the margin lines?

Hey, I downloaded some free fog brushes..and I was trying to use them but they are square shaped so it makes squares, not smooth soft fog , like I was hoping. Beginner here so..which setting do I need to change or how to use these to make smooth soft fog! Thank you!!!!!

Hey Ive been working on a video and I can add zoom and pan effects without any issues but for some reason one of the images changes size and gets huge when I click add pan or zoom or any effect . What am I missing? 😕 Thanks, again ❤️

Hey guys When creating a video on timeline panel, how can you add both landscape and portrait photos and not have the "onion skin" show..? I tried free transform and stretching the images but they are so distorted. It worked great for my other project but now im stuck wit this problem. Any help is appreciated! ❤️

Hello, I am following a study book, it says to straighten a picture. It says to select straighten tool and to make sure content-aware is selected. I have tried this several times and the content-aware box is blacked out and it cannot be selected. When I straighten the image, it leaves white areas around the picture, whereas the book says they should be filled since the content aware option is checked.

I created 4 art boards, did guides, margins and bleed.. added images and text ..saved a copy as a pdf just to review a print. I printed and one of the art boards came out with a black line, as in the boarder for the art board. Why did this happen and how do I get rid of it? thanks

I am using a brochure template. it has bleed and margin guides. should I always make sure the imported images align with the bleed lines? I am trying to add smaller pictures to some of the panels and I cannot afford any of them be cut..could I just align them with margin or trim? I am confused since I was instructed to always make sure they align with bleed lines..but not sure why it is a mandatory thing. Background will be white anyway since the images are so small.. Thanks for your time!

Hello, I am a beginner but have little experience with illustrator. I have used the type tool and haven't had any issues. Today, when I try to create a box with the type tool, it creates a box filled with green color and the letters are not showing. I tried to change colors, and it is not working. When I create the text outside of the art board, it works fine, but on the art board, or even when I move the text from outside the art board where it is working, it disappears the second I get it on the art board. What could be causing this? Thanks a lot for your time !

hello, I used line segment tool to draw a line. I clicked on the color panel and tried typing 75 % on the black box. it changes the color in the little swatch box in color panel but not the actual line. how can I change the color to 75, 40 etc. even when I dragged the slider all the way to white, nothing happened. thank you for your time.

I used pencil tool and curvature tool to create a shape. I have tried to fill it but it is not happening. I am very new to illustrator, this is one of the first practice lessons I'm doing. I have been able to fill other shapes but for some reason the same method is not working. Select-fill. Any advise is really appreciated!
