I’m having an issue with Photoshop freezing whenever I work with large PSD files. The files contain multiple layers, Smart Objects, layer masks, and adjustment layers, and Photoshop sometimes becomes unresponsive while zooming, saving, moving layers, or applying edits.I have already tried closing other applications and restarting Photoshop, but the problem still occurs. Sometimes I have to wait several minutes before Photoshop responds again.What could be causing Photoshop to freeze when working with large PSD files? Are there specific Photoshop settings, scratch disk options, GPU settings, or workflow changes that can improve performance with large PSD files?

All these years of using Photoshop and I don't ever recall having this problem before? But when I go 'File / Export As / jpeg' it converts the image to RGB when exporting it. I understand I can instead use 'Save As', but jpeg isn't listed unless I flatten the file first. It just seems messy to have to flatten everything, then save it, and then undo the flattenning so that i dpn't accidentally overwrite the file. Surely there is a better way?

Usually when i draw small lines rapidly (like hatchings, to give you the idea). The usual cursor of the brush shape disappears during one 10th of second or 1 second and turns to the normal white arrow mouse cursor. I’m trying to create simple black-and white stripe patterns for printing tests.  I’ll often start with the single-column marquee tool and use the paint bucket to fill the column.  When complete, I normally convert using 50% threshold.  This has worked for many years.Now, it seems that if the first column is black when I do the conversion, the whole image goes black.  If the first column is not black the conversion is normal.in greyscale becomes in bitmap, but  this in greyscale converts normally to bitmap.Same thing using 50% threshold or diffusion dither.

Why does Photoshop automatically change the color profile when I open an image?I’ve noticed that some images appear with a different color profile when opened in Photoshop. The colors may look slightly different compared with how the image looked before opening it, especially with JPEG, PNG, or images exported from other applications.I’d like to understand why Photoshop changes or assigns a color profile automatically. Is this related to the image’s embedded ICC profile, Photoshop’s Color Settings, or the monitor profile?What is the correct way to configure Photoshop so that the original colors are preserved when opening and editing images?

New to Firefly. I masked a subject in Photoshop, exported as PNG, & uploaded it to generate a new background. Though the prompt works, Firefly alters my subject or removes it entirely. Any tips, settings tweaks, or tutorial videos to fix this?

I open raw files from my computer by double clicking on them and they automatically open in Camera Raw. It used to have buttons at the bottom where I could cancel the selection, save, or open in Photoshop. But in the last week these buttons have disappeared. Meaning if the selected image is not one I want to work on, I have to press enter which opens it in Photoshop and I have to close the image from there. I can’t close Camera Raw directly. I’ve already done a search on here and the common assumption appears to be that I’m opening it from a filtered image in Photoshop or something similar, but this is not the case. I’m literally trying to open images from a folder on my computer that have never been opened before. Does anyone have any options to fix this? 

Hello,I am experiencing a serious and ongoing problem with Firefly Image 5 and Generative Fill in Photoshop.I am using Photoshop version 27.9.1 on Windows 11.The problem started on Friday, August 21, 2026. Before that, Firefly Image 5 worked normally for me.Since then, generation in Photoshop has become very unstable. Sometimes it generates successfully once or a few times, but then it suddenly stops working.I receive errors such as: “Delays due to high demand. Please try again later.” “There is no connection to the server. Please check your internet connection.” My internet connection is stable, and other online services work normally.Today, August 24, I started using Generative Fill at approximately 9:00 AM. The first three generations worked normally, but immediately after that the same problem returned. On photoshop and photoshop beta since upgrading from my iPad to a MacBook Pro, whenever I try to use generative ai it says it's unable to do it and to check my internet connection. I am however able to do it on my iPad with the same connection and have no issues. I would like to be able to use it on desktop though as it interrupts my workflow having to switch devices. What I have done so far:  checked internet connection signed out and back in uninstalled and reinstalledchecked for updateschecked my firewall is offmade sure it's opening with Rosetta (tried with and without) downloaded older versions of photoshop  nothing is working.on a MacBook if you go to applications - photoshop 2024 - plug ins - generative. that folder is empty, is it meant to be empty? Is this why it's not working? Please help. Thank you 

When I want to replace an element in a photo with generative generation, it doesn't work, and a window pops up saying to check my internet connection. But my internet connection is fine. Sometimes this feature worked well after updating the Windows operating system, but now I can't generate again. Please help!

I would like to add another production example of this issue.We work with large numbers of Photoshop EPS files in a professional retouching and colour-managed production workflow. Since using Photoshop 27.10, I receive the following warning when opening these files:“This document contains Adobe Photoshop data which appears to be damaged. Continue and ignore the Photoshop data?”The files continue to open after clicking OK and the image data appears visually intact. However, I have noticed an additional problem which may be important for colour-managed workflows.The affected EPS files open in Photoshop 27.10 as Untagged CMYK.Our production EPS files normally contain an embedded CMYK ICC profile, so Photoshop appears to be failing to read or retain this information when the warning occurs.Because these are production files used for colour-critical retouching, losing the embedded CMYK profile is potentially more serious than the warning message itself.I have therefore reverted to an earlie

I have updated the GPU drivers, but still the issue seems to persist. If I try to clear it, it either simply does nothing or gives me an error message saying “could not clear because the content of the layer is not directly editable”. I am doing the same steps I have done for years to try to do this and have never had this issue before.

Is Photoshop Generative AI getting worse, or am I just noticing it?I've been using Photoshop Generative Fill for quite a while, and recently I've noticed a significant drop in the quality of the results.The biggest issue for me is texture and detail. Results that previously matched the original image quite well are now often soft, blurry, or lacking the original texture. This is particularly noticeable when working with fabrics, rugs, surfaces and other detailed photographic material.I've tested different models, including Firefly 1 and the newer models, and I'm seeing similar problems. When the year generative fill was offered, many content creators offered methods of creating painting and other artistic effects either through quick masking and filling or creating an alpha channel and filling. But in more recent versions this feature doesn’t work for me. I tried generative fill directly, but got very weak effects.Does this feature still work? If so, how? I don’t care for the look of neural filters and found the AI approach more interesting than the legacy artistic filters. Thanks

i9, 64 GB ramLatest version. Turn settings down to minimum and maxrtx 5090it can crash after 1 minute or 50 adobe couldnt figure it out. ive tried going back as far as two versions, so its clearly my computer  

Does anyone have any insight as to whether Adobe will fix Photoshop Droplets before macOS 28 so they do not need Rosetta? Thank you for your help. 

I am having issues with the camera RAW filter in Photoshop 2023. When I open a file in Photoshop and try to use the camera RAW filter it does not open the filter adjustment box. It just spins and then stops, and I have to hit "enter" before I can do anything else in Photoshop. iIve tried disabling the GPU, and re-enabling. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop twice. I am running photoshop 2023 and photoshop Beta on my laptop, which have been running successfully on this laptop for several months. Any suggestions would really help me, Thank you.

As the title says when I open an image in PS it starts going dark and light and keeps doing it.

J'ai installé Adobe cloud sur cet ordi et Adobe photoshop mais Adobe refuse de faire les mises à jours nécessaire et d'ouvrir photoshop car il a besoin de windows 11 pour cela.Or je ne peux pas l'installer sur mon ordi qui n'est plus apte , dont le support n'est plus apte à accueillir windows 11, selon Microsoft .Y a t'il un solution pour avoir accès au option d'Adobe et à Photoshop sans Windows 11… J'en ai besoin pour mes études... Dites moi si jamais il y a une solution miracle et merci .

Is there an easier way to duplicate a linked layer and unlink it from the original link so I can re-link that one instance to something else?Right now I’m duplicating the layer, making a smart object, and then double clicking into the smart object and re-linking. So every time my linked file changes, I have to go individually into each smart layer to update the link. Kind of a PITA. Back-story: making mockups of different label interations on the same package rendering (today, a bag of frozen chicken wings, woo hoo!). In this case, I’ve got all my labels in one Ps file and then turning on one layer at a time to export them as PNGs to place into a presentation document (Illustrator). Another way I sometimes do it is to create a separate Ps file for each instance of a link, but then I still have to open each file to update the link…  Can I do something like this if I use artboards in Ps instead of just layers? I’d like to be able to open a file, have all the links update, and then export

I updated PS this morning and when I try to use the bandaid, wet brush or remove tool I get a pop up that says “is still downloading. Download complete “ then PS freezes. I have tried restarting the program several times.
