In Photoshop CS6 version 13.0.1 if the background layer is dragged to the little "add a mask" icon the program throws up a dialogue box reporting"Could not complete your request because of a program error." This is different to earlier versions where trying the same thing show a little "no entry" icon over the "add a mask" icon. The error message is confusing and the situation of showing the "no entry" icon as per previous versions needs to be restored. By the way the same error message shows up on two computers so it is not an error caused by a particular machine (both are Macs).
Hi, I'm experiencing the following issue. 1. "Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to Pixel Grid" is on 2. When I, creating a new shape (rectangle or ellipse etc ...) and hold SHIFT (to do a perfect square or circle) the shape I'm creating is not aligned to pixel grid as it should be. 3. I'm experiencing this issue after 13.0.1 update. 4. Check the video - http://screencast.com/t/kU8ErnkGp Very frustrating issue. Adobe please take this into consideration. -------------------------- Photoshop cs6 x63, 13.0.1 Windows 7 x64 (ready to give full details if need) -------------------------- SK
When I change the canvas size, or reveal all for a document that has a smart object in it(with puppet warp applied), the raster mask for the object itself clips to the bounding box of the smart object. I get that this is probably because of the Puppet Warp, but an annoying bug none the less. I had an action set to reveal all my document to prep my files, and notice that my document got messed up.
I tried on two different machines os windows 7 it in acrobat 8, 9.51, 10.1 versions, also pdf document version from 1.3 to 1.7. Problem: when choose "Edit object" tool, choose image>right click>Edit image. Image opening in photoshop CS6, after any editing for example change color model, saving and closing, in acrobat position of image changes, often to bottom and left corner of document. If do such actions in Photoshop CS5, everything is ok, position of object after editing is constant Thanks in advance and good luck
There is a disastrous File Save (mis)behavior when an AI file is opened using "File > Open As Smart Object". When editing is complete, the expected behavior on Ctl-S or File > Save is for Photoshop to open the "Save As" dialog, as it does when e.g., a jpeg has been modified in such a way that it is no longer a valid jpeg. What actually happens is that the PSD is saved over the AI file, using the same file name including the .AI extension. The result is an "AI file" that is actually a PSD. It opens in Illustrator as a raster image. The original AI file is gone. This is a disastrously bad bug. The only workaround is to revert the Photoshop document to its Open state, open the Vector Smart Object (which is identical to the original AI file) and save THAT with the original file name, but this definitely is the wrong behavior in this situation. I'm amazed no-one has run into this earlier (including me); it's been in the program since at least CS5.
If you have a create a group with at least one layer, then change the Fill of the group to anything other than 100%, that value isn't saved for the next time that you open that file. It remembers the opacity, paint type (pass through is default), and any style effects put on the layer, but it doesn't remember the Fill setting. I found this in the beta and an adobe employee said it would be fixed as soon as possible... it's still not fixed. It's not a critical bug, but I wanted it documented that it still exists. Here's the original thread (now read only) http://forums.adobe.com/thread/984900
PS CS6 has a lot of enhancements and great features. it launches very fast, and the control is very responsive and smooth. although i am experiencing some speed issues with very large files. compared to CS5.1, where i don't have any of these issues. the files are PSBs, 9000x8000px, 80+layers, RGB, 8bit i have the same performance settings for both, cs6 and cs5 i am working on MAC PRO, 16GB ram, SSD scratch, 2TB raid, Radeon HD 5770, Snow Leopard. the main issues i have are: - no refresh when i move the curve on adjustment layer. the refresh comes after i let go. - jagged pan - extremely slow moving of layers and layer groups, even if they are with smaller dimensions (800x400pix) again, working with files with less layers or smaller dimensions is very fast. thanks for your help and support! m.
When recording an action, "Copy Shape Attributes" does not get recorded. Doesn't seem to work for Copy Fill from the gear menu in the shape tool color picker either. Create a new action and start recording. Right click on shape layer in layer palette and choose "Copy Layer Style". Note that it gets added to the action. Right click on the same shape layer and choose "Copy Shape Attributes. Note that it does NOT get added to the action.
Here's a very weird problem. Create vector shape, add feather using the Mask palette. So far everything is well. Now duplicate layer using Cmd+J or Alt+drag. Duplicate once or twice. Move layers around. Now layers are rendered incorrectly. Some appear corrupted, some are invisible, some are rendered on places on the canvas where it isn't supposed to be (not where the shape is actually located). The only way to fix this is to readjust the Feather on the Mask palette (if you can find the misbehaving layer) or close and re-open document. Reproducible every time. Tried it out on different computers with different OS's with different versions of Photoshop. Trashed preferences, trashed all fonts, even re-installed OS didn't help. It is driving me INSANE. Would love some help on this, as it is preventing me from doing my job in a timely manner. Thanks!
I read about the HUD Color Picker in a description of what's new in CS5, so decided to try it. The HUD did not display with Shift-Alt-right click in any of the tools it's associated with. OpenGL is enabled, all the OpenGL functions I've tried like dynamic zoom work as described. The image of the brush being use is inset in the window when the Mixing Brush is selected. But no HUD. Pretty much by accident, I discovered that after an Alt-right click drag to change size or hardness of the brush, the HUD begins to work. (You have to do this in Brush, not Mixing Brush.) And continues to work on any image opened before closing Photoshop. Broken again after restarting the program. Classified now mainly as an annoyance now that I've discovered a work-around, but I don't think this is operating as designed... CS5- when trying to change a color in an index file- when you click on the color is the palette box, it gives you the color picker- BUT it does not allow you to change the color by grabbing a color with your eyedropper from another file or even pasting a hex code in the box. I have to select a color manual from the picker- then trick it to excepting a new color. This feature worked in CS4. I am on a MAc OS 10.6.8- Pro Tower- 10 GIG ram- 1.5 TB scratch disk.
Program: Photoshop CS5 Problem: identification of second component brush tip in a brush that has a Dual Brush feature. In CS5, highlighting "Dual Brush" in the Brushes Panel does NOT show which brush tip is the second component brush. In other words, you cannot check what the second brush tip is in any brush that uses the Dual Brush feature. When you highlight the Dual Brush setting in the Brushes Panel an icon for a brush on the right should be highlighted with a black border indicating that it is the second (or "dual) brush tip. This applies to existing brush presets and to ones you have just created. Strangely, this is NOT a problem in CS4 which seems to function perfectly in this respect. Please fix this.
The "Indents and Spacing" option in "Paragraph Styles" in photoshop doesn't work properly. It doesn't do anything. However you can force it to work if you change the Indents and Spacing FIRST, then change something else after (for example the font size). Even if you choose the exact same font size this forces it to work. I have double checked overrides / character styles and the problem is the some on my colleagues computer. We're both using the latest version of CC.
Adobe Photoshop CC 2014.2.0 Release. I have a problem, I have just made a contact sheet with font size 10pt the problem is the font size on the rendered contact sheet is 2.88pt. Is this just me, can you have a look.
When you use the vanishing point filter and want to return the layer to a 3D layer, the textures are not exported correctly. Appear all white. Cuando usamos el filtro punto de fuga, si seleccionamos la opción de exportar la capa como objeto 3d, no aparecen las texturas en la versión de Photoshop CC 2014.
Hi. I have an extendscript script that (amongst other things) overlays some type over an image. The script dynamically sets the font-size - but i just upgraded to CC2014 and it's suddenly broken. var identity = "some text" var newLayerRef = docRef.artLayers.add(); newLayerRef.kind = LayerKind.TEXT; var textItemRef = newLayerRef.textItem textItemRef.contents = identity; app.preferences.typeUnits = TypeUnits.POINTS; var textSize = 100; // Set Text Size if (identity.length < 11) textSize = 200; textItemRef.size = textSize; That works in CC, but not in CC14. If I add: alert(textSize + " " + textItemRef.size); I get "100 6.4px". So I can read the size - but not set it for some reason. Bug?
This is a major failing in Photoshop version CS6 Hebrew Support. There is no way to reverse the text with, "Apply Middle Eastern Composer" as there was in CS5.5 Middle Eastern Version. This means that LTR stories cannot be flipped to RTL!
In the CS5 version of Photoshop, Apple+H doesn't always work to hide the paths around vector shapes when I open the layer styles dialogue.. I used to be able to open the layer styles dialogue (in CS4 and earlier), and if a vector path was visible around the current layer, I could hit Apply H and hide it. Now sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't.. Honestly, this is the kind of stuff that causes me to get so frustrated with Adobe. New versions of CS software, and tons of stuff that used to work fine now no longer works correctly! If I didn't have to update my creative suite to stay up to date w my clients, I probably wouldn't upgrade..I find the little things like this...and there are so many of them...far too frustrating for the kind of money it costs to buy the creative suite!!
I have 4 registered images of fungi, all images are at the same exposure settings but focused at different levels within the frame. I need to 'blend' together to make one image with a combined DoF. Ok, so I've imporetd into PSCC as 4 stacked Layers, non of which are Background Layers. I've selected all 4, auto alligned and then used Auto Blend Layers [ABL]. The outcome is that the top 3 layers have totaly black masks applied and the bottom all white. All I basically get as an output is one of the 4 images, no selectivity whatsoever, presumably because of the 3 totally black masks. It also executes the process very quickly. I assume ABL should be selecting the better focused areas on each image [white on the black masks] and combining all to give me one image with collective DoF. This isn't happening
Hello. The changed shortcuts to toggle the autoselection of layers with the move tool selected is highly frustrating to me. I used to have a great workflow with auto select turned on and used cmd to drag elements that were either off-canvas or too small / too transparent to grab them. Now it seems to be inverted: I need to turn auto select off to toggle with cmd. When it is turned on, cmd seems to toggle now between layer and group auto selection. I can't understand why this was changed or is at least not something I can switch between in the preferences. Thanks you very much for looking into this. Michael Heins
Why does Photoshop CC2014 now show the complete filepath instead of the file name? I hate this! Please give us the ability to change it to how we like it...as for me, file name only!
I've been having a problem lately with type layers where they no longer increment/decrement in size in a logical manner. For example, if I select a 22px text object and change the size using the CMD+SHIFT+[PERIOD] shortcut, the text will change size not from 24px > 26px > 28px like it should, but increments in odd steps like 22px > 24.01px > 26.02px > 28.03px > 30.04px. Also, if I select that 22px text layer and reposition it to a nearby rounded pixel-perfect XY postion, the text size of the text layer itself will change itself to something arbitrary like 23.71px. Another reproducible bug is if I select two type layers like the ones in my example shots where one is 48px and one is 22px and I change the text size in the toolbar with them both selected to, say, 30px, both objects end up changing to 30.13px, which is not acceptable or normal behaviour. This is extremely frustrating, as my layers are changing on me constantly and I have to constantly change them back to t
In CC 2014 latest version (2014.2.1 as of today), if I try to type in some value for a mesh material property (shine or whatever), weird things happen. For instance: I create a cube wrap mesh (or any other 3d object) then I click on the material, then I double click any value in the properties panel (or just click and drag to select the whole value), and when I start typing something like "53", the first keystroke is registered (5) and the box ends editing mode automatically, so the value is set at 5 and I have to click again to add the other number. Some times, the value is entered okay (first keystroke is not auto-validated) but after pressing intro, it just goes back to the old value, ignoring what I just entered. Sometimes it does work, but problems are more prone to happen if I try to set several values in a row using numerical values (as opposed to just dragging the slider). I am not sure when this started happening, but for sure it didn't in CC pre-2014 (I still have it installe
Much like, many, many other Photoshop CC users, if I load Photoshop directly (as opposed to double-clicking a PSD file), the stupid welcome screen (well, a blank, white window) appears and will not go away. I have read that if you wait around 20 minutes, stuff will appear, including a 'don't show this stupid screen and crash my computer ever again' option box. I'm a fully paid up CC subscriber and I'm running 2014.2.1 release. PLEASE fix this, surely it's a 5 minute job to make that stupid window go away and never come back! Come on, this hang is the first thing a Photoshop user experiences when they load it up. It does not inspire much confidence in what's supposed to be a pro-level piece of software. I've been using Photoshop professionally since VERSION 1 and do not need to be told, by a crashy welcome screen, how to use it. I do know that over the past few versions, it's become progressively less stable - and more bloated with silly features. PLEASE fix this!
Photoshop CC 2014 repeatedly crashes after hitting command-z, and says he could not perform that particular action because of "a program error". Either PS crashes directly after that, or I have to force quit it manually because the message keeps on popping up, whatever I do. This is occurring since the 2014 update. Thank you for any help. L.
