Photoshop

I'm using the latest Photoshop 2025 on a Windows 10 laptop.  I have a script that I use with file - automate - batch which converts RAW files to jpgs.  It will only work with 400 files.  If I have more than 400 files in the source directory, after it processes the 400th file, the process stops with an error messgae  - something like "too many open files."  Is ther some way to increase the limit?

I have tried bypassing plug-ins by holding the shift key down when attempting to launch. I have also restarted my Mac in between the multiple uninstalls and new installs of Photoshop. Everything was fine until I upgraded to 27.1. Please help, I’m desperate to finish multiple projects for eager clients.

I have a subscription and it still directs me to buy one prior to installing.

Hi everyone,I’m looking for help with a recurring issue when saving scanned PNG images as PDF files in Photoshop (27.3.1). Recently, the PDFs generated are partially corrupted or misread by Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and Photoshop.The Problem: When I open these PDFs in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, I get the following error:"The dimensions of this page are out-of-range - Page content might be truncated."The page size appears as 1x1 mm, making the content cropped and pixeled.What I’ve discovered so far: Third-party viewers: If I open the same PDF with PDF-XChange, it displays perfectly with the correct dimensions. Re-opening in Photoshop: If I open the "corrupt" PDF back in Photoshop, it also shows the wrong 1x1mm size. The "Workaround": If I check the box "Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities" when saving, Photoshop is able to reopen the file correctly, but Acrobat still struggles with it. Bonjour, deuxième fois que j'ai ce soucis "impossible d'ouvrir l'application "adobe photoshop 2026", car elle est peut-être endommagée ou incomplète" Je ne peux rien faire d'autre que de ré-installer PS, ça marche, mais ça arrive trop souvent, je perds une demie journée à chaque fois à refaire mon setting.

This animation is a waste of processing power. It's annoying to see the canvas deforming like jelly. It makes no sense!!! How to disable it?

So I have updated to v27.10 on my Windows machine and was excited to try this new layer functions, as of course the blacks slider for instance is really useful. For a few days, I was able to use it… but now when I open ps, the Light layer defaults to the Legacy (before 2026) version and I cannot select the latest (recommended) version because it is greyed out! I’m not sure what changed. I can’t find anything in settings about it, but these menus are also a maze, so I’m not above asking for directions. 

Sky replacement brightness doesn't work. Adjustments window is blank. Tool bar on the left keeps glitching if I close photoshop which leads me to renaming file folders and deleting certain files to get it to come back. Liquify doesn't work half the time. Get the "can't write new document...." or whatever. I have Uninstalled photoshop, and reinstalled it. Spent half a day getting my actions and plug ins back on there. It worked great until all the sudden all of this stuff started happening, maybe 1.5 - 3 months ago? Maybe after an update? Maybe because they won't stop trying to load more a.i. into photoshop? How about give us an option to leave some of this a.i. off of our install? This is absolutely killing my productivity! I have spent literally days doing "fixes" that were on Adobe and Google. Nothing lasts more than one instance/use of photoshop! Come on Adobe!

I am having a flag printed and the company requires a .jpg or .png image that is exactly 18600x11400. When I go to export the image, photoshop changes the image size to 12648x7752 and will automatically revert back to that anytime that I attempt to increase the size. I've searched all over and can't find a solution. Any recommendations?

This just happened with the last Photoshop Update on August 29, 2026. In addition, I’ve been using Photoshop for over 10 years, and this has never happened before.(I just updated NVIDIA several weeks ago, and everything was fine at that point. I do need to recalibrate my monitor; but again, everything was fine until the PS Update on August 29, 2026.)My color settings in Photoshop are set up for ACI (America Color Imaging), and I checked Adobe Bridge to make sure they are the same and they are the same. Is there some “AI” setting I need to turn off in Photoshop, or has Adobe changed something I am not aware of? I also have “Pro Editor” selected; not, “AI Assisted” in Photoshop.Please note: These are screen shots, and I realize the photo of the man in Photoshop looks better than the one in Bridge, but that is not the case when viewing them in PS & Bridge!Thank you,Julius

As you can't buy Photoshop CS6 anymore, I managed to purchase a genuine back up copy instead from an approved Adobe retailer but back up copies obviously don't come with a license as you are already supposed to have one.  Can I purchase a license or a used license from Adobe to activate the back up copy?  I don't want to be tied into a CC monthly subscription.

Everytime I try and open a file saved from photoshop, it doesn’t let me, and keeps giving me the error in the image. It happens when I try and open from my Adobe Cloud AND from my files on my laptop saved from photoshop. The button “Learn how to fix” is not useful and isn’t helping me fix the issue. I’ve tried restarting my laptop, using an older version of photoshop, uninstalling and re-installing the latest photoshop updates, and using the web version, but no luck.

I just bought a Brand new PC and Photoshop struggles to operate efficiently utlizing my new GPU. Here’s the specs: CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 270k PlusGPU: NVIDIA RTX5070TiRAM: 64GBSSD: 1TBOS: Windows 11 Pro4k, 32” Monitor. Problem 1: The issue is mainly with the Object Selection tools and those tools/options that requires GPU. I’ve turned off all settings for Object Selection tool for auto detecting objects. But it still takes a 2-5 secs to fully operational. So even the automatic detection is disabled, when I select the tool, the little loading icon still spins like it’s detecting something. Before it finishes, if I try to draw a rectengle to select subject, it lags behind my mouse movement. When the detection icon stopped, then the tool behave as expected. I’m not sure what happens during the process.No crush of course. Recenlty my Photoshop tool icons simply do not appear on the toolbar. they function fine but it is troublesome to find the right tool. The only way I could solve this is to reinstall photoshop but I cannot possibly do that every day.

EnvironmentX-64 based HP Z-Book PC running Windows 11, with 64GB of physical RAM and an Nvidia Quadro RTX300. The GPU clears graphic compatibility check inside Photoshop. I always keep at least 100GB free on the scratch disk. I have not installed any plug-ins. Steps to reproduceOpening any file apart from .PSD (ex. JPG or PNG) loads the file correctly on the screen, but immediately after the cursor changes to “spinning six dots” before the dreaded error dialog window. Disabling the GPU results in a similar behaviour, except the cursor changes into the “spinning blue donut” instead. Resolution attemptsI have tried clearing the preferences, disabling the GPU and reinstalling the software, but the problem persists. Hello,I’m unable to start PS from the CC desktop app nor starting PS from Win start menu as administrator.I am getting the error message:“Could not complete your request because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Properties’ command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.I rebooted my Win system to make sure no active processes was locking any files. I started Photoshop and immediately I get this error message. It doesn’t say which file is locked so that makes it hard to troubleshoot.What can I do in this situation to resolve this?
