My PSE 15 catalogue contains hundreds of duplicates, how do I remove them in bulk

Hello, The CROP function is completely glitchy in Elements (quick or expert) on my HP laptop-360 envy.  I have just downloaded Elements 2022 for the first time on this laptop.  I have used the crop function for many years on a desktop with no issues. When I try to crop, dragging the corner function does not create a cropped image as I wish...it sort of bounces around and will settle on what it wants.  Even IF I click green check mark to take the crop, it will often then produce a cropped image MUCH smaller than what I had clicked "yes" to....CRAZY! I have tried rebooting, clicking "reset" in bottom right corner when on the crop screen, changing unchecking and then rechecking "unable crop reselection" in "preferences - general" - may work once or twice after changing something - but then goes right back to unusable.  I have also checked "reset preferences on next launch" and rebooted.  Whatever I do, it may work once or twice, and it keeps glitching! PLEASE help

I'm wondering if anyone has seen an issue running Photoshop Elements, where after some use, you can suddenly see the desktop background through the "empty space" gray area in the Elements editor workspace?  This was happening on my old iMac (so I blamed the screen).  Now I'm running a brand new Mac Studio with a new mac monitor, and I'm seeing this issue again.  It only happens in Elements.  No other applications on my Mac (Finder, Numbers, Topaz Denoise, Topaz Sharpen AI, etc have this issue, which leads me to believe it's a problem with Elements.  Users of Photoshop CS reported similar issues and were advised to turn off some particular settings, none of which are available in the Elements preferences. If anyone has seen this or resolved it, please let me know.  Thanks!

I am fairly new to using Elements (Windows version) and have a rookie question. After putting about 6000 photos into the Organizer section with most all photos keyworded, when I do a search the results will pop up on screen.  Then when I want to edit a specific photo from the search result I don't seem to have access to the Editor function.  I left click or right click the selected photo to no avail.  No other controls on the screen allow me to edit either. So how do I edit a photo after finding it via a search in Elements 2022?  Thanks. 

Maybe thissi is mentioned somwhere in the manuel, but I could not find it.You created a layer mask with selected objects and applied Refined Edge to it--fineAll selections (marching ants) are now deleted from the imageThen you see you need to add some more stuff to the mask, so you select the new odjectsBut how do you **add them** to the existing mask? I am having trouble getting existing captions to import into Adobe Elemenets Organizer 2022 for Windows. I have approx 28,000 pictures I'm trying to import where I set the captions in another software, but the captions don't show up when I import them into Elements.I discovered exiftool. There's a bit of a learning, curve, but it does allow me to look at the current metadata on the file. Before importing, I can see that the caption is set in the following areas:EXIF:ImageDescriptionXMP:TitleXMP:DescriptionIPTC:Caption-AbstractBut, when I import the picture, the caption does not show up on the right (Under "General" when selecting a file in the Grid) or in the single image view. But, if I set the caption in Elements, write the metadata to the file, and then look at it using the exiftool, it shows the new caption under:XMP:DescriptionIPTC:Caption-AbstractI don't understand why it wouldn't import these if they are already set in the metadata fields that Elements writes to when it updates

Why do I lose people tags from a photo which I edit and save with a different name?In earlier versions of PE this didn't happen. All tags were retained by default during edits.I am using Vn 15.I give a photo a person tag.I edit it and save it with a different name.Now the people tag is missing from the edited version

In 2018 ? Heb ik samen met een vriendin Photoshop Elements 8 gekocht. Mijn versie deed het niet meer, dus ik wilde opnieuw installeren. Nu zegt het syteem: uw serienummer klopt niet of is vervallen. Hoe kan dit en wat moet ik doen? 

I have the latest version of Photoshop Elements 2022 on my PC.  Does it have lens profiles (Canon) similar to what Lightroom has.  One click in LR can usually remove vignetting or other lens issues.  I've looked and don't see it anywhere in Elements (Organizer or Editor).  If its there and I missed it can someone kindly show me how to use the feature.  Thanks.  

Photoshop Elements 2022, there is no "properties" appearing under the Window menu, where do I find it/how do I get to it.  Thanks 

I used a filter. It was the pixalate filter to extrude. It worked just fine but the blocks were a little too small. I wanted to do it again but now the filter will not work,  I can not change the size of the distortion because the image I'm working on will not change. I do not know why the filter will not let me use the distortion thing again?  The layer was locked so I unlocked it, still nothing works. I tried saving the image, closing it out and re-opening the image. Still nothing works? Any help?

How do I know if my Elements 2022 has registered successfully? I have the trial version on my Windows 11 laptop, after messing around on it I liked what I seen and purchased the licence (Redemption code) from Amazon UK. Signed into my adobe account entered the redemption code and received the licence/serial number.Entered and activated the serial number in the trial version which seemed to go ok, the nag screen asking if I want to buy or activate the program no longer appears.In my Adobe account/plans & payments/Activated devices shows "No Activated Devices".Does this take some time to appear in my account? Thanks

How do i convert a .jpg file to a .psd ? 

Hi, I'm having an issue after reinstalling my copy of Photoshop Elements 2020. When I use the Move Tool to drag a layer around, its contents do not refresh to the new position unless I release the mouse button - only then the layer is redrawn in the new location. I've disabled Auto Select Layer. I've switched to my dedicated GPU. Any ideas what I can do to have it behave properly? Before I had to reinstall it because of a Windows clean install, it worked as expected, I could see the layer contents moving around while dragging. Another smaller issue that I always had with the 2020 version is that when I use CTRL to select a few layers, the last layer I click in the panel doesn't get selected unless I release CTRL. Not a deal breaker, but still annoying. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

Photoshop Elements won't open. I have tried re-installing. I have windows pro 7

I just purchased the New Photoshop Elements 2021 and installed it on my computer. It worked fine for a few days and then today when I tried to open the editor it froze at initialization and wouldn't open. I removed and reinstalled the program but the same problem occurred again. Can anyone help? I never had this problem before with Elements.

Hello, I was using layer styles in Elements yesterday and they all worked  as they should.  I started using it today and it seems all the style specifications have changed from original.  For instance, the bevel and drop shadow numbers are several times higher now when compared to the original (I was able to compare to an old file).  This seems to have happened to all of my styles, see an example attached.  I tried to Reset Preferences and it didn't work.  I posted in the Elements forum with no response. Any ideas for a fix without re-installing all of my styles? Thanks,Dave

Today I created a new subfolder in Elements 2020, and I then tried to rename it.  I received a small dialog box that said "Analysis is currently running on the selected media.  Please try again after some time."    This has been going on for nearly 30 minutes now ... how do I get this to stop?  This seems to be a new condition, I've been able to rename folders before ....?????  Thanks in advance.

Hijust installed elements 15. All photographs converted.  Can I delete elements 12 (also have 9)?RegardsMikeph

I have upgraded from Elements 12 to 12018.  Now when I edit a file and save-as to new file name  (xxx.tif saved as xxx_edited-1.tif, or -1 to -2) the people tags are lost in the organizer for the photo.   The files are being saved in a version set.   When I look at the meta data, it shows that people tags in the meta data are there.  The tags are not being copied over in the Catalog.   The Catalog has the place tags, and custom tags I use.   But people tags are lost on the new photo.   I have repaired the catalog.  I have gone over the settings more than few times looking for something relevant.   Google searches are turning up nothing current.Also happens if I edit a PSE file and save as a TIF file.

I have extensive collection of photos in Organizer (+50,000).   Many from been there since I started with Elements 3 and have been brought forward through many upgrades.  Many of the old ones are still in PSE format.   I started a project in Elements 12 of editing them and saving in TIF format.   Now in Elements 18 when I save the edited photo the people tags are dropped.   Other tags carry forward put not the People tags.   It seems the file format is not the issue because if I save as JPG or any other format they are still lost.   If I edit a TIF file and then save in version set the tags are still lost.What can I do to get this fixed?   Am I missing something?   Is this a bug in Elements?   Are others having this issue?Herb Smith
