Photoshop Elements

Hi, I currently use elements 14. I get the dreaded spinning wheel on every action. What are the chances the same will happen if i buy 2021?

I am learning a hard lesson on what NOT to do when getting a new computer AND starting a newer version of PSE. I need help. I store ALL my original photos on an external hard drive. I specified this when bringing my previous catalog into PSE21. I've contacted Support twice, had 1 screen sharing session which "seemed" to solve initial usage problems(bizarre zooming, no updates). Then one day out of the blue I started getting disk error messages when opening a just edited RAW image. Related issues are that when BB transferred my data from old computer to new, they screwed up user accounts. Instead of MY account name used to log-in on the computer, my user account name became the former computer's hard drive name....What this created, amongst hours of sorting through Get Info files for MULTIPLE folders to check access rights, was a very bizarre pathway to the media cache for my catalogue which is stored on the computer's hard drive. I cannot change this pathway to my account name.&nb

The Microsoft Store sells "Adobe Photoshop Elements 2021", but it is not the same build as Adobe's build of Photoshop Elements 2021 purchased from Adobe or other third party vendors. You don't get a serial key, you can't register it in your Adobe account. You can't get updates from Adobe, because the update utility has been removed and Microsoft hasn't posted any of the three updates on Adobe's site. There are numerous features missing through out the MS build. The file structure is very different. Tech support from Microsoft is limited to the download, installation, activation(it isn't visible) and updates(they aren't doing them). Since you don't get a serial key you can't sell it or give it away in the secondary market. The "Adobe Photoshop Elements 2021" from the Microsoft Store is significantly different than the Adobe build and therefore has diminished value. None of the differences were published. Date and time on my camera was incorrect. How can I correct the date on the jpg photo file?

Does Elements 2021 allow local area & global adjustments?

My photos are stored on an external drive which has failed. I have a new nas drive and have restored the files from a back up. I can't find how to reconnect the catalog to the new location. I've followed a variety of suggestions but nothing has worked. If I get to the screen which I think should fix it the option to reconnect drive is greyed out.I have tried the approach to 'reconnect files' but as you can see from the second screenshot it's only reconnecting about 1% of the photos. It will find one in a folder but not all of them.A further puzzle is that if I try to reconnect a single image I can't navigate to the folder on the nas drive as the dropdown (thrid image) only shows me local folders & I can't navigate to the external drive, even though it is connected, I can access it through finder and elements is finding a handful of image files.  I'm on a Mac with Elements 14 and 80k photos.  Any thoughts?   

Without a response to my earlier post I'm considering just importing my 90k photos to my new version of Elements. However, in trying to test using import from files and folders I can't uncheck the 'copy files on import' option as it's greyed out. The photos need to stay where they are. Any suggestions? 

So I have seen multiple posts about backups not creating the .tly file and the comments have been that "your backup didn't complete", which really isn't helpful.  I dug and dug and finally found mention of an application error in my Windows Event Log.  Can anyone tell me what this error means and how I stop it so my backup can complete?  The attached file is a screen capture of the error log.  This is on an older Dell Inspirion running Windows 10 Home.

I have a new laptop. My old machine has Elements 18. I downloaded it to my new laptop, but I'm being told I have a thirty day trial, after which I must purchase it again. What do I do?

I've been using Photoshop Elements since 2006; this is my 4th version, which I purchased in February of 2017.  It has worked flawlessly - until yesterday! I'm in the middle of a project and now I cannot do ANYTHING with this software.  It says I don't have enough RAM.  I have 4 GB of RAM and even with the program running, I'm only using less than half of that.  I would try to reinstall the software, but unfortunately I purchased a download so I don't have the disk.  Can't figure out how to contact Adobe to see if the download is still available.  I will not buy another upgrade that may not work with my RAM. Also, my computer doesn't seem to have room for additional RAM.  Any suggestions?

I have Elements 2018 as an upgrade, as I previously had Elements 10. Can I uninstall 2018 and re-install it without any problems?  I have the serial number for 2018 but I'm concerned that once I uninstall 2018 I won't have any 'previous' version on my computer - a previous version is required in order to use an upgrade.

We are trying to turn a red silhouette to white. It is a png file. We would like to paste the image onto a red bag in printify but can't figure out how to change the color. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Why on earth does Adobe persist in hiding away behind this cloak and that cloak rather than offering helpful and meaningful Support???? I have just roday purchased Adobe Photshop Elements 2021 through Amazon; I have redeemed the emailed Activation Code, got the Serial Number, yet this stupid, nonsensical software from Adobe----no wonder Microsoft Windows kicked Adobe Flash into history!!!----keeps coming up with an error about connecting to the Internet when I already am connected to the Internet when trying to input the Serial Number just obtained, in the relevant boxes. This is typical Adobe crap, and their Support compounds it by hiding behind screens. Wish I had never bought this load of dog's doodah now!!!

I am seriously looking at migrating from LR/PS. Great software but overkill for what I am doing and consequently resent paying the subscription costs. But I have library of thousands of files catalogued in LR which ai don't want to have to re catalog in a new system. Is there a way to import the LR catalog into Elements, including all keywords etc. If I write the metadata/keywords into files within LR so each file has an associated xmp file can that be imported into Elements to build a catalogue?

I have seen this mentioned before on this forum but I can't find it now. There are 2 or 3 keys that can be pressed and held down when launching PSE that brings up a prompt to Reset Preferences. What is that key sequence? 

My workflow has been to use PSE12's Organizer and when I want to edit in 16 bit I could highlight a photo and hit Ctrl H and Photoshop CS6 would load with the photo in the workspace. Now I've upgraded to Photoshop CC 2021 and I cannot figure out how to do that. I don't want to convert to and use Lightroom Classic or Bridge as I want to continue with the workflow I'm familiar with. Does anyone know how to bypass the use of Lightroom & Bridge and use PSE12 (or higher) with PS CC 2021?

Hello:My problem is that the program refuses to do slide show. Everything else does it right.Just installed there was no problem but as a week happened what I have told. I reinstalled the program once and returned to work. After a couple of days it stopped working again. I have already installed this files onto 2 other Window Computer, I removed one of these files.  Then tried to install it on to my new Window Computer and wil not take the S/N. HowdoI fix it.Second Question Would my program convert my HEIC to JPEG Format? If not what programcan? 

I have created a PNG file that is all text. Currently, it is wider than it is tall. I want to edit the text so that it is taller than it is wide, and can't find out how to do that. Every time I try, the cursor moves up and down the text, but I can't edit the position of the text itself. For example, if I wanted to change the oriebntation of this post, I could select the point at which i wanted the line to end for each group of text, then hit "enter" on the keyboard, to make it look like this: I have created a PNG file that is all text. Currently , it is widerthan it is tall. I want to edit thetext so that it is taller than it iswide, and I can't figure out howto do that. I could continue, but I think you get the idea. How do I change the orientation on my PNG file?

I am a long-time Photoshop Elements user, with 45K+ photos tagged with Keywords, People, Places and Events.  I believe I started with Version 10 on a Windows machine.  Whatever I started with, I had to build Place tags manually, and tagged 10's of 1,000's of pics.  At some point in the upgrade cycle, Adobe's Place function started using Google Maps, and had no ability to 'import' manually generated tags, so a whole new file hierarchy was started, under country names, such as "United States".  Annoying, but I gritted my teeth and stuck with the product line.  When I upgraded to Version 16, Google Maps was no longer used, and I could not create new Places.  Reluctantly I upgraded to Version 17, assuming some sort of compatibility would be achieved.  No.  Worse yet, Adobe now embraces 'Map Box', not compatible with my Google-based Places, or my manually-created Places.  I am disappointed.  If I create new Places in the US, they show up und

I photocopied forty 35 mm slides into Pictures and now want to bring them into Photoshop Elements.  Painfully it seems I can only bring them one at a time., I am only allowed to list one file when I use "Get files".  Is there a way to bring them all at once?

When I am working on a photo in a folder and I want to save the photo with changes, I was always able to "Save As" and add a new name and save in that folder.  Now, all of a sudden, when I go to a folder, chose a photo, make changes, then "Save As", it goes back to the folder I was in previously and saves there.  I now have to always remember to "Save As" and look for the folder that I am in and choose it.  What happened?

I've just downloaded 2021 but it isn't showing the workspace I;m used to, with the black background, just seems to show a 'lite' version? How do I get the workspace showing on the you tube help videos? Thanks.

This might've been posted already, not sure, but I've figured out for the most part how to get a gif to work in PS Elements 15, but when I try to get it to actually save, it says it's "too big" and that I need to either "scale down the image or delete some layers", and I'm wondering just how small exactly does it want me to make this gif?  I've already tried to scale it down to a quarter of its original size; any smaller than that, and you probably won't be able to really see the gif. I've never had this problem out of any other programs before, and I'm genuinely about to go back to one of those programs and manually input all 60-something layers of this gif just so it'll work properly...  But I'd really rather not, so any advice on this would be very welcome.   The gif has 65 layers, and is 534 x 720 pixels, if that's helpful to anyone.   {Thread renamed by moderator}
