I recently installed Adobe PE, version 12, on a new windows PC, windows 10. When trying to recover existing music to an existing project or add new music to a new project, I am receiving a new error message: The importer reported a generic error. The music files attempting to be added have already been added/used/fully functional in other projects on the prior PC. Checked for this error and just installed new updates as recommended, however the error persists. Please advise
My premier elements was failing to launch after reaching the selector screen for PS, organizers, and premier. I tried running as admin, doing the ctrl, alt, shift thing I've seen people suggest, and searching for the lava program (I do not have any file with that name so I do not believe thats the issue here). I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premier and that worked for a few minutes. Then photoshop began to fail to launch and premier began failing to launch again. Included is a screenshot of the only error occurring at the same time the elements is failing to work. It does not list an adobe program as the issue but that is the only program I was attempting to use or had running and also the only issue on my computer currently. This has always been a Windows 10 machine and no new programs have been added recently. I am becoming increasingly frustrated as I need to use these programs for my business and now they are both down. Please help.
I have Premiere Elements 15 for Mac. I have been trying to superimpose a video of someone singing against over another video. I have tried Videomerge but only bits of the background come through. I have also tried making mattes in Photoshop, but even though I have been following directions to the letter, the mattes don't work. Nothing works, except for a 4 point garbage matte. Even with adjustments, it looks awful. I wanted to superimpose the singer, not put him in a black box. I have been at it for hours and have searched the manual and these forums for ideas. I still cannot do this. I've tried using Difference Matte, Track Matte, and Non Red Key as well. I've tried so many things that I can't remember them all, and my head is spinning. Will I have to re-shoot my footage against a green or blue screen? I used black because that was my friend's setup. I hope someone can help me.
I have CC for Ps & Lr. Have run concurrently with APE 14 for months. No issues. No recent updates that I am aware of since I used APE 14 last. Message recommends re installation. Attempted re installation of APE 14 - seemed fine but got message that it had not completed as it was aware of pending restart. Restart had no effect. .
Hallo,I have got a Nikon which makes videos only in mov-files!Is Premiere elements compatible with the mov-files? Do I have to consider anything? Which versions from elements are not compatible with mov-files?Thank you in advance!

I have installed Premiere Elements 15 onto my Windows 10 machine a while ago and today is the first time I've used it. When I import videos there seems to be no sound from my speakers, I have used version 10 of this software for a while now and regularly use Magix Movie Edit Pro so I am a little familiar. It doesn't seem to matter which format MP4, WMV or anything else just no sound.I can see the audio track in the timeline but nothing from the speakers any help would be greatly appreciated.CheersS
Hi,I have an LG Google Nexus 5x mobile phone which takes videos in HD (H264 - MPEG 4 AVC 1920x1090 @ 30FPS) and also 4K (H264 - MPEG 4 AVC 3840x2160 @ 30FPS) videos. I downloaded the files from the phone to my desktop in order to open/import it into premiere elements from there. But it doesn't work. When I try to import any of these files there's always a "general error" popping up in elemens. What's wrong?
I've had Elements 12 for a few years and have never had an issue but sat down to work on a project and suddenly none of the music files (old ones that I've used in the past or new ones) will play. I've tried them on the "narration" line as well and nothing. The audio from video clips work fine. Is this a new music licensing thing, program or user error? Thanks in advance.

I have a Panasonic pro camera which has the option to record in AVCHD resulting in MTS files, or directly to MP4 which is a better filming option as this enables effects such as hi and lo speed and time lapse. When I export from Premiere I always convert and save to MP4.Both formats (AVCHD & MP4) on the cam allow 1080/50P. I have tried both formats and I am unable to see any difference in quality with the resulting MP4 video. Is there any preference or reason which format I should shoot in? If I shoot AVCHD, then Premiere coverts to MP4. If I shoot in MP4, does Premiere degrade this further when exporting to MP4?

Hello, I am using Premier Elements 10 with max memory on my laptop.Yesterday, received a message from Premier Elements that I need an update for the playing driver.Contacting Tech Support for the computer, no new driver was found. (The day before, a Radeon driver had been installed.)Meanwhile, I am getting cursor freezes and general lack of cooperation from Premier Elements that I have used since ? 2011.Perhaps, this means I should upgrade to PE 15,but I expecting the computer to fail, so that would be a waste.I am using OS 8.1. Tried OS 10, but PE 10 was not friendly.Suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks !
Soweit so gut.
i am trying to export a video my son created and it starts by saying rendering media and then after two minutes pops up with error compiling media unknown error what do i do about this?
I recorded my chorus' rehearsal tonight. When I started to edit it in Premiere Elements 15, I found that one section of audio had been replaced with audio from earlier in the evening. In other words, part of the 4th song we rehearsed was replaced with the audio from the 2nd song - while the video stayed with the 4th song. When I watched the file using Windows Media Player, the audio and video were synched correctly. All I had done was download the 3 files from my Canon Vixia HF R700 and imported them into Premiere Elements. Same as I do every week. How did this happen, and how do I prevent it from happening again?thanks, Kris
Hello, Is it possible to add a "steady/constant" low volume background sound track across all my clips, and only have it be louder for the beginning and ending of my movie? In Apple's iMovie app, once you insert a background track it will automatically play it louder in the beginning and ending, but the track stays low and steady in the mid portion of the movie. That is what I want. Can I achieve this in Adobe Premiere Elements without having to adjust the levels manually for each clip? I tried SmartMix and it seems to "intelligently" try to change the background track levels across the entire movie and the results have not been very satisfactory with my background music going up and down too often and annoying. Thanks!Andy
Hi Community,I edited my project and it is ready to be exported. When I render it and watch it in Premiere Elements 12 everything is as intended - audio and video. In the rendered version there is always at one part a short almost deaf moment of my audio, which after around three seconds fires up to normal. When switching between MPEG and AVCHD this faulty cut just moves to another audio cut scene. In the audio lane there is one 7min track, consisting of different parts. At one of the switches between these parts occurs the problem. All audio is denoised. And again: While watching in PE all audio is fine.I hope somebody gets my problem, which I can't explain any clearer. And is then able to help me.Kind regardsAttila
Hello-I have a capable computer which exceeds the system requirements, but my preview when I try to edit lags to the point the software is useless to me.I am wondering two things:1) Is this something to do with the project settings?2) If I change my software settings, will this help and furthermore, am I still able to export into 4k if I lower the resolution in the project settings say to 720
Hi,Just getting started with Premiere Elements 15, and I'm trying to make a video from a sequence of stills and videos. The first think did as an experiment was to add several jpegs, then drag them to the timeline.I noticed that the images were very blurred in the monitor panel, but if I clicked on the "blue circle with a cross" that appeared in the middle of the image on the monitor panel and dragged it a little off center, the image immediately cleared up.So the question is - what is this widget, and why did it change the image so dramatically just by moving it a little? And do I need to visit every image in the timeline and move the widget to get a clear image in the final exported video, or is this just an artifact of the monitor panel? Thanks in advance!DaveS.
I have Adobe Premiere Elements 15 on Windows and I am wondering how to blur moving faces. How can I track a face that moves in a picture and incorporate that into the blurring process?[Moved from Premiere Pro to Premiere Elements by a moderator]
