My hard drive died, so ALL my apps are gone & I need to start over. I have an iMAC from 2011 - how do I get the free version of Adobe Reader?THANKS for your time

HiWe're using Protected View for untrusted locations and we have an issue with Adobe Reader opening files from one of our other systems. it seems the file is placed by Reader in %temp% and opened from there, this causes the PDF to open in Protected View as %temp% is not considered a trusted location.Is there a way for me to change this location and make Reader place the temp file in a different folder? This needs to be something I can set for my entire network and not just a specific computer.

If you read a PDF in reading mode (Cntrl-L) you can press V, for tools, and then U to have the marker on point. However, is there a keyboard shortcut for changing to color. So instead of pressing 'properties' - I don't know if this is the right term since I use the dutch version, and this is a literal translation - you can use Cntrl-x for example. When you use Cntrl-u the words you just colored remain selected, so if you can use a keyboard shortcut to go from the selected word to the table with colors, that would be grandiose for me. Appreciate the help! 

So, I have Adobe on my laptop and on my desktop. On my laptop when I double-click a word and then right-click one of the features that pop up is a link to dictionary.com that shows the meaning of the word. On my desktop, however, this application doesn't appear to be there. I have googled it, but all the answers I found assumed the application would be there, and only showed you how to use it. I think I need to enable it somewhere, but I can't seem to find where. Some help would be greatly appreciated. 

Hi there, I have created several two-page spreads, exported to PDF from InDesign as single pages, but two up facing page spreads. These PDFs are displayed correctly in Pro and I am able to set the Document Properties > Initial View settings as Two Page facing with no issues and am able to view them correctly in Pro. However when I view those same spreads in Reader they default to single page view. My Reader View settings are set to Single Page View (for the purposes of this testing), but I was under the impression that Document Properties set in Pro would override the application view settings by default, and that even though my application View settings are set to Single Page, the document would default to Two Page. Thanks for any guidance as I had no luck finding information on this on the board.  Bev

My adobe reader will only scan new PDF documents partially. finding some words but not others. It will search an old 2018 perfectly but will only find certain words like "patient" but not other words like "novolog" on the same document from 2020. 

I am using Adobe Reader DC, v2020.013.20064.After downloading a pdf with fillable fields, I filled most of it out, and saved it. Now I need to go back into the saved pdf and finish filling it out, but all of the fillable fields are locked. When I click on a fillable field, I get a blinking cursor, but I cannot type anything into the field.* I have not signed the document.Here are the security settings for this file:(Edit > Preferences > Security - selected items):* Enable protected mode at startup* Protected view: Off* Enable enhanced security* Automatically trust sites from my Win OS security zones

Hello,   I have documents that can only be opened with adobe reader 9 or 10. A dongle is also required for this. These are repair instructions for vehicles. The same error always occurs when the file is opened (see Appendix). In English: Some of the components that are needed to complete this process are missing. Do you want to look for missing components?

Using a LibreOffice I created an .odt with hyperlinks to files to be located on an SD card.I need the user an easy way to jump to supporting video, photo and PDFs located on that drive.  I have exported the .odt as a PDF.   The only files that do not throw up the security warnings are the PDFs. Video and photos  get the pop ups:Reader DC v20 throws up the security warning and then annoyingly an other pop up after you click allow.Why doesnt the check box work?I can live with one pop up but not two.  I have  tried going to preferences and selecting Trust Manager  >change settings button> select  "allow pdfs to access all website" I can click on the same link immediately after, withotu closing anythig and the same pop up occurs. I understand that the Fille/// hyperlink  may be the reason for the prompts but do not think I can change it in Reader.   How can we get the check box to work so they only get the war

Hello, the eraser button of the MS Pen doesnt't work the same as in other tools like the Internet Explorer form MS or Windows Ink Workspace. It needs to be excatly on the letters to delete them, means plenty of time just to erase a couple of letters.Is there any settings to change this issues? thanks

Hi, A week ago, I have dowloaded Adobe Reader XI on MacBook Air, however the installation process froze. I cannot close the window and cannot turn off my laptop since a week now. The software is still being installed but it's actually not moving it's just frozen I tried many things like force quit or delete the plug-ins but nothing worked. The window cannot be closed.Please can you help me

Hello:I have a problem with Adobe Reader on Internet Explorer (latest version). When i open a PDF file, it works perfectly, but when i try to open a 2nd one, it crashes I.E. Sometimes it crashes when opening a 3rd or 4th PDF file. After that, i can start I.E. again and open PDF files, but the problem persist. What i tried: - Updated Adobe Reader to latest version- Updated Windows 10 to latest version (20H2)- Repair Adobe Reader install- Restore to defaults I.E.- Tried to open PDF files in another browser (Chrome), same issue.  Any ideas? My Acrobat reader DC is running very slowly. It's very frustrating. Not sure what to do. I've tried checking for updates ( I have version 20.013.20064). I tried "repair installation", and restarted my computer and none of those have made a difference.  Any suggestions? I really can't work like this if it will run this slowly. I'm using my laptop with Windows 10 Home, intel-core i7-8550U, 16 GB RAM.

With the latest build of Windows 10 (19042) the app.alert functionality no longer works inside of IE 11 (yes, we are moving away from IE 11) when the PDF is presented inside of the browser. The sound notification is present but the pop up box no longer shows up. I've rolled back to the previous Windows 10 build and it works. Hi,I have a USB dongle which has a PDF contents page which hyperlinks to other documents, all stored within the same USB (just in different folders).Every time you follow any hyperlink you get two security warnings, below is the first,Then,Even when you have the tick box checked to remember this action, the prompt comes up every time I open the same, or different, file.  Is there any way to disable these warnings?I have looked at and checked with the Trust manager, but no success.Many ThanksRich

I want the offline installation pakage of adobe acrobat reader. I want to install it on my father's desktop computer. He lives in a village where there is no internet connection available. Not even the mobile network is available there. So the online installation pakage is of no use. I want the offline installation pakage so that I can download it now and install it on my father's desktop computer when I go from hostel to my home.

Per Adobe, this is a free download in order to allow me to use a scanner, to scan and upload files to the laptop. I use Firefox and was unable to open the installer file from downloads (empty files). I checked system requirements and saw that Safari may be required, so used that browser to try to download. I got this message when tried to open the Adobe download:Safari can’t resume this download. The file “AcroRdrDC_2001320064_MUI.dmg.download” doesn’t appear to be a valid download file.--------Can anyone advise on this? Hirecently I've posted a similiar post but got no solution.maybe I wasn't clear enough discribing the issue.I have adobe reader - free version. (ver 20.013.20064) (windows 10)I need to edit pdf files. actually need to annotate and comment on existing pdf files.I would like to copy one comment\annotation from one pdf file and paste it to another pdf file.my problem is that copy\paste of comment\annotations are pasted "in place".(i.e. for example if I copy an annotation placed at the top of a page in say "source.pdf" then ctrl+v in  "destination.pdf"-window pastes the annotation similarly at the top of page)but I would like to paste the copied annotations\comments near the current cursor position.can it be done?thanks very much

I have tried compatibility mode suggestions.  disabled (enable enhanced security) Regedit hkey current user/software/adobe and delete adobe acrobat.  ran adobe repair, evnen removed and reinstalled and still getting this message.  I am getting the message while doing quickprint from outlook emails.   Does anyone have a solution to this problem, looks like there was same issue back in 2017 and this happened after updating to the version 20.013.20064 ThanksSteven
