Hi!ver 24.0.3 (Build 2)Windows 11I'm following this tutorial:When creating a mask from text, I get black screen and playback doesn't work.   I checked if the Render tick is on — it is.  Any ideas what might it be?

Hi, im new to writing ae plugins and wanted to try figure out how to write a simple plugin that can scale the footage,layer etc... of what its applied to.  i understand in logic of how to do it: find out layer w&h in pixelsCurrentscaleX = 100;CurrentScaleY = 100; scaleP.ScaleMultipler = params[EXAMPLE_SCALE]->u.fs_d.value / 100;     ie 101/100= 1.01 scale increase   if (ScaleP ) { NewscaleX = CurrentScaleX * Scale Multiplier;  NewscaleY = CurrentScaleY * Scale Multiplier;  CurrentScaleX = NewScaleX;CurrentScaleY = NewScaleY;} but as to writing that logic into a format the sdk can understand i have no idea. would be great if i could get a bit of help.

Hey everyone,I'm in desperate need of some assistance here. I've been encountering a frustrating issue with After Effects on my Mac, specifically when trying to open Envato projects. Every time I attempt to open one of these projects, After Effects crashes without fail.What's particularly baffling is that my colleague, who also uses a Mac, has no trouble whatsoever with the same projects on their system.I've reached out to Adobe support multiple times, but unfortunately, I've received no response from them. It's incredibly frustrating to be left in the dark like this, especially when I'm facing a roadblock that's hindering my work.Has anyone else experienced a similar issue or have any insights into what might be causing this? I'd greatly appreciate any help or advice you can offer. Thank you in advance!

I'm trying to create a template for animated type where each line comes in from opposite direction and a drop down which gives the user the option for 1, 2 or 3 lines of type. I've used a drop down expression control along with range animators which should turn the opactiy off for lines not in use. However, it doesn't seem to be working. Three lines works ok, but for one and two lines it seems to not want to change via the drop down. Any help would be great and if anybody then knows the best way to make sure each option is always centred would be great. Thanks,Oli 

I bought a recent laptop, and when I go to click to use the rotobrush, AE just crashes and closes after 5 seconds, and I don't know why. I've already tried changing the Ae settings but nothing seems to have any effect... Please help me!!! My laptop is a Lenovo Gaming 3i, with 11th Gen Intel i5-11300H 3.10Ghz, with 8GB of RAM and integrated graphics card Nvidia GTX1650 Ps: I also have a computer, which already had these same RAM and graphic card configurations, and this type of problem has never occurred before

I am attempting to use the SmartyPants Xcode project as a template.  I replace every instance of SmartyPants and SMARTYPANTS with my plugin name. But when I compile, it errors out with : Command CodeSign failed with a nonzero exit code Any advice on how to fix this? And a better way to start new plugin packages? 

Please, I'm begging you guys, I need this tool for my job and I'm growing so increasingly annoyed by this issue.1 out of every 5 (or every 50 seconds...) of my renders ends up not matching the masking guides that I madeLike...This is hard to explain... I seperate my videos into 10 second clips (not enough ram to do anything more than that in 4k....) and please trust me when I say that I go over my rotobrush thoughroughly to make sure that it's the way I want it to be... and regardless of that, 1 out of every 5 (on average) of my clips ends up having some weird area unmasked or masked that I never asked it to mask or unmask... This issue is a problem with both the current beta, and the official product, of after effects of course.And it has been a problem for like at least a year and a half.  I've written about it before in this forum, and still there is no sollution.I suppose the AI being used to guide the masking is somewhat tied down to like weighted nodes or somehting like

 As you see the images above, I have an unintentional gamma shift when exporting my sequence from AE to AME... Somehow the result cranks up the lows/blacks up by almost 10 units...as seen in the scopes...wtf???If that is not already strange enough, it ONLY happens when I first add the sequence to AE render queue and then click 'Queue in AME'. If I instead go to the Composition tab and click 'Add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue', then there is no problem; the exports will look exactly the same.When I render directly from AE it also exports exactly the same. So somehow the communication protocol between AE and AME when clicking 'Queue in AME' seems to be off...HOW is this possible??I really need the 'Queue in AME' to work correctly, as I use scripts that heavily rely on the render queue.I am so baffled by this, I have looked around and it seems like many are experiencing similar issues but with different contexts - they have no solution yet!ADOBE please help! I suddenly got locked out of adobe while I was working on a project and I can't sign-in anymore (it says: Please wait as we work to fix this problem, then try again. If the problem persists, contact customer service. and I've already waited). It's not like it says the account doesn't exist or that I have the wrong password, it simply says ''Something went wrong''. Does anyone have a similar problem or could help please?

I've been using Automation Blocks' "Create Comp Duplicates from Spreadsheet" to automate the process of taking lists of vertical videos and converting them to horizontal, plus adding an animated lower third of the user's social handle. Sometimes, the clip that I'm importing is longer than the source clip I have in the composition I'm using as the template, so it ends the imported clip (duplicated on 2 layers) early.  So I drag the clips to their full lenghth, select one of them and press "o" to go to the out point of the clip, then press "n" to end the work area at the clip's out point.  Is there a way to automate these steps into the workflow?  Here is a video of what I do manually that I'd like to automate:  

Hello! I want to make an animation with a movement recognition like in the videos from the security cameras. I made a tracking, but I want the frame to change the scale roughly, trembling like in the real footages. What script should I use?

I take the file and try to drop it onto the timeline, but nothing works.

Gradient fill doesn't work for me. I tried radial gradient and Linear. I am trying to add a gradient for the shadow of this door, but it only puts black and does not have a gradient.I also tried on other shapes and it does the same thing. How do I fix this?

Maya to AE 2024 is needed as an update ... why is this taking so long?My workflow is messed up without this update. Any idea when this will get done?

I am importing a PS file into AE but the images don't appear and are black. The PS file is RGB and I can see the files as PS files in AE but thet still won't appear and are black. t is a layered file that I want to animate but can't do anything as I cannot see the images. 

pls help i cant render anything in mp4 anymore idk why, i was really stressing cause i use this everyday so someone pls help, i tried with like 3 different projects, i deleted and reinstalled after effects altready and its always at 2% and than it chrashes, im scared i have a virus. hi, I have a problem with anchor points when working with text, it seems to be attached not to the text but to the composition, and when zooming in or out, the anchor point does not remain fixed relative to the text layer, but remains in place relative to the composition

Hi,I'm working on a project with many variable typefaces, I'm trying to showcase their ability to change and  to adapt by animating them through their axis of variability.How would you suggest I can key frame the typeface from one extreme of variability to another? Right now all I can do is move the slider and screen record in illustrator, as only illustrator and photoshop are capable of adjusting variable typefaces. Any tips or advice? If I hypothetically had a video of a friend beating another friend with a large yellow pool noodle, because hypothetically we're planning on filming an absolutely ridiculus skit, and hypothetically we wanted a giant french fry but we didn't have one, and I hypothetically had access to adobe after effects, how would I hypothetically go about turning the yellow pool noodle into a giant french fry with vfx? Don't judge, remember, it's all 100% hypothetical.

So, I've created a long stroke with many path points which draw the stroke up and down. (Like a heartbeat EQ)I then(using the Create Nulls from Paths tool in Ae) applied the 'Points follow Nulls'This turns every path point into a Null controller.Switching all of this to 3D allows you to space out the Nulls and create a 3d like stroke.I spaced out each milestone around 500pixels in Z apart.Now, you simply add a trim path and as expected it can trim this 3d path from 0-100. Great!However, my problem is that as soon as you create a 3d camera, and you move to target each of these milestone points, the Trim Path gets affected too, thus throwing it out completely!Anyone have a solve for this?I imagine it might be the likes of connecting the Nulls to the camera somehow.

Hey all!I use DaVinci to colour and edit and I am looking to add some more effects within AE.   I primarily use a MacBook Pro to edit.  I have rendered my DaVinci project as a Premiere XML then saved the Premiere file so I could load to after effects.  For some reason both Premiere and AE does not recognize when I have layered multiple clips on top of eahother.  It ends up blacking out what ever clip is underneath.  does anyone know what I can do to make Premiere/AE respect the layers and play them all together?

The experience has been nothing short of infuriating, and I feel compelled to bring this to your attention.

I'm trying to edit a video for one of my friends, but I'm having trouble with one of my null objects. Every transition I have created thus far is linked to each other via null objects. For some reason, my most recent null layer is causing me a load of trouble - it's causing all my previous clips to scale unwantedly. Can you please help? I'd greatly appreciate it.  I've attached a video showing my existing problem; as you can see, Layer 12 is causing my clips to zoom in, and when I reset the Position and Scale values, everything goes back to normal. (Please exclude the noise included in the video, I was watching a YouTube video)

Hi Community. I have applied a gradient to my animating circle using trim path animation.The gradient has 4 colours, the 2 middle ones are exactly at 50% so they dont cause a smooth transition, I wanted a hard gradient stop, thats why they're at 50%. When the animation starts, instead of seeing just blue to green, I can see some transitioning gradient happening in between the colours.  Also, is there anyway of converting a PSD file into a Path, so I can apply trim paths? Thank you. https://streamable.com/qifwid
