Hey!  I'm making a behind-the-scenes process video and i want to screen record how my camera looks moving around my composition. Is there a way to make the camera show when I play? this view that I showed in the screenshots disappear when I press play.  Thanks!

I placed my pictures and made them into 3d layers to create a parallax effect, but when i moved any of the layers back or forward, it doesnt change in size or doesnt look like its going far or near the camera. Please help me how do i fix this

AE used to allow you to expand the "current render" option in the render queue, and it would let you watch a real-time log for what is being rendered (every frame, every layer). It was the only way I found to properly troubleshoot expensive effects and needlessly long render times. I found it so incredibly useful for optimisation...but now in 2022 it seems to have gone (maybe replaced with the handy, but way less useful 'render time' pane?). Did anyone else use this? Is there an alternative? Is it hiding away from me?

Hi, so I need to animate a scribble style snake for a music video for my highschool final exam. My teacher advised us to draw 8 similar straight snakes in a psd-file (a layer for each one).  I did that. Where do I go from there, if I want the snake to kind of meander around the frame? My teacher talked about some kind of skeleton animation, but I cannot recall it perfectly or figure out how to do it? Thanks a lot in advance!Elli

Hi everyone,I’ve attached two images for reference:Image 01: Created in Illustrator – features a soft, vibrant gradient look on a gear shape.Image 02: Created in After Effects using 3D extrusion and lighting via the Cinema 4D renderer.My goal is to design and animate a 3D cogwheel in After Effects that looks visually similar to Image 01. However, I’m struggling to recreate the smooth and colorful gradient style from Illustrator within the 3D environment of After Effects.Is there a way to achieve that kind of stylized gradient shading on a 3D object directly in After Effects? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance!

Hey there, Just a message, as I couldn't find anywhere to give feedback to Adobe or Sarah herself... But I was just going through the After Effects tutorials to learn the software, and most of Sarah's ones don't supply the supporting files correctly to follow the video. There's always a file or layer missing.  Hopefully she can see this and fix it for others coming here to learn? Thanks

Hello, I've completed a project with a 32-bit color depth; it featured a glow effect and looked perfect on my screen. However, upon exporting, regardless of my efforts, the colors and glow appeared washed out. OpenEXR was the only format that preserved the image correctly. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to convert OpenEXR to a video format while maintaining the same dynamic range; it always looks like an 8-bit image, washed out, no matter the video format used. I believe Adobe should address this issue; color problems during export are a frequent frustration after significant time investment in achieving a perfect look. If anyone has a solution, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hello.Lately i've had an issue with my after effect. Immediately after lauching the software, i get a message error saying "After effects error : File couldn't be opened for writting : "C:...\Adobe after Effects 22.2 Prefs-Indeprender.txt". (3;;0)" I did try to change in "paramaters/Security" the accessibility for ritting of the folders (and others that ere concenred by the same problem", but everyting seems in check. I've tried erasing the folders, but as soon as I do smth on AE, they reapear, still faulty.I tired desinstalling/reinstalling the software from adobe creative cloud app, even in differents versions, erasing the preferences, but the probleme still persists.This is problematic since it seems to prevent the functionning of a render plugin/script (gifGun) I absolutly need to work.I can not recall any modification of parameters change I might have done to provoc that type of problem.This seems to concern every .txt folders on the media cache. Nor erasing or displacin

I do night photography and will often move lights through the images, creating light trails during long exposures.  I recently set up a video camera right above my still camera to capture a video, the intent being to use Echo and show on video how a light trail is built.So I set up Echo and put it on Maximum for blending, the issue is that there are gaps in the echo effect.  I've shortened the time I feel like I have adjusted nearly everything but am still frustrated at the gaps I continue to see.  Is there some obvious thing I am doing wrong here or another effect I should be using instead?

Rendering Issue in After Effects (2024 & 2025) – Extremely Slow PerformanceI have been using After Effects 2024 for a long time, and rendering a 1-minute video used to be much faster. Recently, I updated to After Effects 2025 (v25), and ever since then, rendering has become extremely slow—taking around an hour for a 1-minute video.Steps Taken:I rolled back to After Effects 2024 (v24), but the issue persists.The project is not complex—it contains only basic color corrections and looks adjustments, with no 3D effects or heavy transitions.System Specifications:Model: Predator Helios 300Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHzRAM: 16GBSystem Type: 64-bitGraphics Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060Issue Summary:Before updating to After Effects 2025, rendering was much faster.After updating, the rendering time increased drastically.Rolling back to v24 did not solve the problem.My project is lightweight, so it shouldn't take this long.Would appreciate any help in troubleshooting this

The Advanced 3D renderer in After Effects makes it really easy to import 3D objects ... but unless you know 3D software, you're stuck using what others have built. For a planet (real or imagined) it is kinda nice to have that control for yourself.   In this video, I'm going to show you just how easy it is to make a basic sphere using Blender and then export that as a Wavefront OBJ model which means you can do all the texturing and animation directly in AE. We can do this because OBJ models use a separate MTL file to link to textures - which means it is incredibly easy to update the textures without needing to learn Blender or other 3D software. Once we have a textured planet, I then show how to create a clouds layer and then an atmosphere layer - all without ever going back into the 3D software. In fact, if you don't want to use Blender, then you can download the project files from the YouTube description.  

Hello,I have several plugins that can't access the license server. I send you a video to show you what happens : the login page should have appeared after selecting the RTFX pack.I saw this post but the guy from Adobe answered on direct email (??!...) RTFX is not the only plugin that can't access so how can I change that without going to info.plist ?Thanks 

Hi guys,I am having a problem every time I create a shape layer. So, after creating it or importing a shape layer from Ai with Overlord plugin, I have this problem: when I want to select one or many vertices by dragging in the Composition window is like I have all vertices selected and if I drag what it does is moves the shape, and if I switch to the pen tool it adds more vertices to the shape or selects 1 vertice at a time.Does anyone has an idea of what is happening or if I have something enable that has to be disable?Here is a video of what is happening:Also some pictures of how is the shape created: Hope someone has an idea and a solution. Best,Yeye

I want to operate AEGP from jsx without creating a menu.However, it seems that jsx does not recognize the command ID unless InsertMenuCommand is used.By using AEGP_Menu_NONE, I can use InsertMenuCommand without creating a menu.This seemed to work. However, an alert sound plays when AE starts up.Is this a bug in AEGP_Menu_NONE?Is there a way to remove this alert, or an alternative solution?My environment is as follows:Windows 11, AE 2025
