Hi all, a regular issue from what I can see, but previous forum posts based on this have not helped. I have set up my project, and have added a solid colour as a background, and have made sure this was at the bottom of the layer list. Whenever I go to render, which is through Media Encoder, it renders it as a black background. I have checked to make sure the transparency button is not turned on, and have also changed the colour of the solid, to which it renders as a very very dark version of that colour. Hi defaultcmfzsabz656m,

Welcome to the Community and sorry for your issue.

As mentioned by Mylenium, please share more details so that we can troubleshoot the issue properly:

Here's what you can try:

  1. Clear the media cache: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/faq-how-to-clean-delete-or-trash-media-cache-files-in-after-effects/td-p/10634312?page=1
  2. Switch the renderer to Software Only from File > Project Settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu

Impossible to know. Your info is way too generic. You have not told us anything about your computer, your project contents, render settings, no screenshots. This could literally be anything from hardware acceleration issues to accidentally having enabled guide layer options to having used the C4D renderer and its strange handling of soem stuff. You realyl need to be much more precise, but of course start by looking into the things I passingly mentioned.
