Do we have scripting access to the "import dialog" (scale, up-axis etc) when importing 3D models?
Hi, has there been added support for managing the new color managment system via scripting? - Set/Get colorspace of an FootageItem.- Get/Set color managment method
Hello kindly help me out on this please!!!i've tried almost every way to export BLACK BG video as a transparent video By using 1. QUICK TIME> RGB&ALPHA> ANIMAITON> RENDER (not working)2. USING MEDIA ENCODER>Apple alpha>RENDER (not working)3. TIFF Image seq> RGB&Alpha> Render> (not working)
The use of MultilayerEXR with OCIO/ACES Colormanagement is not working correctly. The Layer-Extraction with the EXtractoR is currently applied after the Input Transform to the ACEScg-Workingspace. The result looks slightly wrong compared to the same Image as Singlelayer EXR. If I disable colormanagement for the EXR-File and apply the Effects (OCIO and EXtractoR) manualy everything works correct. Would be cool if no manual Colormanagement would be needed. With Singlelayer EXRs there is no problem. After Effects Beta 23.2.0 Build 34Windows 10
Rotobrash in Beta version not working. It crashed AE and now I can not open the program even after reinstolling it.
Hello! I've been doing a few tests with the new 3D model import and it's great. Can you share some information about the scale/units of how you import the data? For example I tried to import a camera (via GLB) from Modo:Modo position: [7,86, 7.56, 4.5] (values are in meters)AE position: [4984, -3333, -2305] (pixels, 1920x1080 comp)(If I right click the position and chose Edit and det units to mm I get: [1758, -1176, -813]) I know that AE uses a flipped coordinate system etc, but can you share some insight how you scale from the above values to what AE uses? I't important for some of my workflows, especially now with 3d import.
Hi everyone, We're happy to announce that starting in Beta build 24.0x37, we have added 2 new scripting hooks, one to get the fonts being used in the project, and the other one to replace fonts. You can check their respective documentation here: https://ae-scripting.docsforadobe.dev/introduction/changelog.html Please remember that these scripting hooks are currently in Beta and are subject to change. We've also created a demo script panel that exercises these new hooks to recreate the Font Replace experience from Premiere Pro. The script is attached to this post, but you must rename the file's extension from .jsx.txt to .jsx to run it inside AE. It is also available GitHub here: https://github.com/AdobeDocs/after-effects/blob/main/samples/ReplaceFontsInProject_ScriptUISample.jsx We're excited to see what you'll be able to do with these new hooks and to hear any feedback you may have!
Hi, Currently the OCIO Look Transform, Color Space Transform and Display only function with project management set to OCIO for the config file path. While the implementation of project wide OCIO is very welcome, there will still be a lot of usecases and reasons where one will desire to have the project itself run "non managed" in Adobe color mode and use conversions through effects only. It would be nice to have AE function like this: - OCIO config file/path is always read and can be set regardless of the project being in Adobe or OCIO color mode. - OCIO effects mentioned above will always read the path from the project settings. - Extra parameters will be added to those effects labeled OCIO configuration: [From Project] as it's settings which would be default but can be overridden by a custom path or one of the other configs that are in the software's OCIO folder. This is what that could look like. Implementing this would completely remove the need for the
Hi I'm facing some issue while changing font in after effects. Every time when i try to change font in AE its getting stuck and crashing continously. I'm using BETA version. Please help me out of this.
Greetings After Effects beta users! Thanks to your feedback, we’re extending the Properties panel to include support for Essential Properties. From your Creative Cloud app, update to After Effects Beta 23.3x36 or later to try it out. Essential Properties give you a quick and simple way to edit precomp properties nondestructively. You can turn a composition's property into an Essential Property by adding it to the Essential Graphics panel. When you select the nested composition layer, properties you added to the Essential Graphics panel will be visible in both the timeline and, now, the Properties panel, making it easier than ever to create lots of different versions of a design. Source text properties also gain access to options like overriding font, sizing, and styling. You can turn these options on and off in the Essential Graphics panel by clicking Edit Properties on any source text property. Media Replacement is not yet ready for you to test (st
Greetings! Today we are excited to share major improvements to 3D model rendering and lighting, starting in After Effects Beta build 24.0x23: Adobe Standard Material (ASM) is now used when rendering 3D models. ASM is a physically-based rendering model that is shared across Adobe and Substance products. Environment Lights create realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows on 3D layers by surrounding the scene with an image-based environment map. In After Effects Beta, environment lights only work in the Mercury 3D renderer. Voxel Shadows can be cast by environment lights, with new controls for how the shadows are rendered. Scripts can access the new Environment light type. We have also published a new FAQ for 3D model import and rendering that includes a full overview of these features and all existing 3D model import and rendering functionality in After Effects Beta. We encourage you to read through this. Adobe St
Introduction: After Effects introduced a native OpenColorIO/ACES workflow in our 23.2 release (details here). As part of this release, we included OCIO File Transform Effect which gives users an option to use LUTs or CDL for color correction/grading. We have feedback that users want to use a CDL file (e.g. .ccc files containing a list of color corrections) directly and choose the effect from the list as per requirement. Users should not have to break a .ccc file into .cc files to apply the effect. We are introducing a new OCIO CDL Transform effect under the Color Correction category to cater to this request, starting in the Beta build 24.0 build 14. OCIO CDL Transform Effect: This effect aims to apply a CDL transform or its inverse to a layer or composition. The UI for the effect is as follows: The effect includes the following UI elements: Select - Select a supported CDL file

Can I redownload an older version after a minor update?I updated After Effects Beta to version 24.0x14 and now it cant render my 3d model, can I go back to 24.0x6 or is my only other option 23.6?
Greetings beta users, It’s that time of year again! Starting with today’s update, After Effects Beta will save projects as version 24.0. This means that projects saved in the beta will not be able to be opened in other versions of After Effects (including 23.x public releases) without file conversion. If you need compatibility with 23.x or before, go to Save As > Save a Copy As 23.x… to create a project file that is compatible with older AE versions. Note that some beta-only features may not be preserved in your project when saving for older versions. And the usual reminder: while we do our best to maintain stable beta releases, we don’t recommend using beta versions for production work as features and functionality are subject to change. We appreciate your feedback on in-development features, and frequently make updates based on your input.
We are excited to announce that we've just pushed some small improvements to beta for the way we manage memory on integrated GPUs today. If you use a discrete card, you shouldn't see any differences. The old system was generally aggressive around freeing up GPU memory, so this should result in some modest improvements in render times GPU-intensive compositions. Enjoy, and please do let us know if you notice any difference in performance from the Beta build 23.6x58 or newer.
Introduction: After Effects introduced a native OpenColorIO/ACES workflow in our 23.2 release (details here). As part of that release, we included ACES 1.3 OCIO configurations. ACES 1.3 introduced Reference Gamut Compression (RGC), and it is available as a Look in the ACES 1.3 configuration. We have got feedback that users are not able to use ACES RGC in their workflow as it is not exposed in the application. To cater to this request, we are introducing a new OCIO Look Transform effect under the Color Correction category, starting in Beta build 23.6.55. OCIO Look Transform effect : The purpose of this effect is to apply a Look transform or its inverse to a layer or composition. The UI for the effect is as follow: Effect includes following UI elements: Input Color Space - Select the input color space for the transform. Look - Select the Look. This popup is populated from the selected O
Howdy to everybody in AE Land! In today's build of After Effects Beta, v23.4 build 18, you can now extract cameras and lights from GLB and GLTF models in a comp. To extract cameras and lights, select the 3D model layer in the comp and then choose: Layer > Camera > Create Cameras from 3D Model Layer > Light > Create Lights from 3D Model After Effects Beta will create new camera and light layers based on the camera and light data in the 3D scene. If the cameras or lights are animated, After Effects Beta will create keyframes. The goal with extracting cameras and lights is so that if you have spent the time to set up a scene in your 3D modeling app, you can quickly recreate the same scene in After Effects. We want to hear your feedback on this, so please give a try and add a comment below with your reaction. Tell us if you encounter any problems or unexpected results, or if you just l
Greetings! Starting today in After Effects Beta, with build 23.6x38, you can import 3D models from Creative Cloud Libraries, including thousands of models available in Adobe Stock. Many of the 3D models in Adobe Stock are provided free with your Creative Cloud subscription! Adding 3D models to your library Adding a model from Adobe Stock to your library is easy: Start by going to the Adobe Stock site to search either the free 3D models or the entire collection of 3D models. Click on a model, then click on the Save to Library button (it has a heart icon). You can also add your own 3D model files to your library: In After Effects, first import the 3D model into your project, then drag and drop the model from the Project panel to the Libraries panel. In the Creative Cloud desktop app, click on the Files tab, click on Your Libraries, click on the library you want to add the file to, then drag the 3D model file from your desktop to t

since the last Beta I can't change the shortcuts anymore. suddenly it reseted all the shortcuts and I can^t restore it anymore.Open I the keyboard shortcut menu, Ae freezes.
I have to say - it's the first iteration and it works really really well - congrats to the team 🙂And my actual problems don't really have anything to do with the OCIO implementation - it's with the workflow that is a result of it. Here are some things that need work:- is there a reason a jpeg, with embeded sRGB color profile does not get automatically assigned a proper profile? It gets ACES 2065 😕😕- Add Grain still doesn't work in 32bit - come on guys. You don't even have to rewrite it - pixels above white shouldn't even get noise added just like pure white. Just don't clip the original pixel values - that's all I ask- Unsharp Mask creates negative pixel values - makes it unusable in 32bit workflows 😞 And a general problem - negative pixel values. When we're working in 32bits per channel the pixel values are unrestricted. That was good before, since if we were switching to 32bits it was obvious the project needed an unconventional workflow - we h
