Hello. I inherited a project where the case study videos have music playing in the background under the narration. In one of the videos, the volumne on background music is too high and overwhelms the narration. I only have the mp4 file for the video, which I was able to separate the audio and video into separate tracks and export the audio to a separate mp3 file. Now, I want to separate the audio in the mp3 file into separate tracks (one for narration and one for music) so I can lower the volume of the music track. Can I do this in Audition? Normally, I would scrap the audio completely and redo it from scratch, but I don't have the music file that was used, and I want to preserve consistency across all of the case study videos, which all use this same music as background. Hello,I'm generating / synthesizing sounds from various sources (Eurorack, Ableton Live, etc), that is finally getting rendered into 4-channels (Front-Left, Front-Right, Rear-Left, Rear-Right).I want to be able to capture the final output of 4 channels, as a 4-channel AIFF / WAV audio file.The 4 channels of audio are coming in to an audio interface (RME), as Analog Inputs 1, 2, 3 & 4.In Audition, under the Audio Channel Mapping, there is only "Default Stereo Input", and the ability to only choose two channels as the input. Is there a way here to add 2 more channels to the input?The Output section shows 36 channels (wondering why the output shows all the channels, but the input is only stereo)?When I create a new File -> New -> "Audio File", I can create a Custom Audio Channel Layout, and add two more channels to make a 4 channel audio file.And the created file does show 4 channels.However, when I hit Record, it only records the first two channels. 3&4 are always empty.&nb

Hi guys is there anyone out there who can assit me with this issue? I've been through the windows sound check test and it worked fine but when using it in the latest update of Audition, the light on the mic flashes red in colour and the audio recording playback is sped up 2 times! How can i get it to work on this gaming laptop?

I'm digitizing a bunch of old cassettes, and often I end up with two recordings of the same thing and I want to compare side-by-side to see which is better (sometimes they are very similar). In Multitrack, I can click Solo (or Mute) to hear just one, but to switch to the other I have to click Solo (or Mute) on both tracks, which I obviously can't do simultaneously. Is there a way to swap between two tracks with a single action, so that I can go back and forth without interruption while the timeline plays?

Does anyone have experience of using Audition with a BMD UltraStudio HD Mini for video output? Premiere Pro works fine, as does Pro Tools... not having much luck with Audition. Thanks,

Hello, recently I noticed that I no nlonger can record audio in Audition, the hardware is the same and and I have not changed any settings. I used to be able to record audio on this machine before.I noticed that the playhead and counter is studdering, it moves then stops, moves the stops and no audio is recorded. It doesn't matter if I use an USB mic or the computers internal mic.I have tried different setting but the problem is the same. Why is this happening? Is there an update on Windows 11 that causes this?  

The ProblemI'm attempting to map and record single inputs from my Rodecaster Pro II (multi-track source) in Adobe Audition. A few months back everything worked perfectly fine. I run a 3-person podcast and each person has their own mic and their own channel. Now, no matter the channel selected from my input source, it always records the same audio (the full mix of it). It's also not just the Rodecaster Pro II, I was also using an intermediary software that acted as a multi-track interface for other projects and that no longer works as expected. I've submitted a support request to Rode, but this seems like an Adobe issue and I need help fixing it. Is there some magic trick I've missed to make this work again? I just switched from audition 24 to audition 25.  Instead of a small white arrow, my pointer arrow is large, black, and attached to the 4-point move tool. It doesn't give me the same precision. It changes only when I hold down the ctrl key. How do I get it to stay a small white arrow?

All of a sudden I cannot Fade In or Out in Audition. Under Clip-->Fade In all of the options (No Fade, Fade In, Crossfade, etc) are grayed out. None of them are working. Likewise for Clip-->Fade Out, same problem. Currently running Audition Build 12.1.4.5. All of my Favorite Effects disappeared at the same time, but I will write up a 2nd post for that. Help!

Audition stops playing when the cursor reaches the end of the current view (end of the screen). How can I make Adobe continue playing?

Hi i'm using the latest version from adobe audition 22.2 and everytime i open my project the effect window for the racket effect opens and is unable to close (just infinite windows opening up!) I already updated my software on my mac (MacbookPro M1) and tried it with older audition versions. Anyone familiar with the problem? Thank you!

Hi all,I have a multitrack project and when tried to use the rack effect speech volume leveller function, the window opened to set values and now I can't close it. When I try to drag the window to the corner of my screen it duplicates itself and the original still can't be closed. I have closed the programme, restarted computer and made a copy of the project and the window appears upon opening the project every time.Help!!

Yeah, I don't see why, when I have a 6-core processor and 64 gigs of RAM, that Audition needs to take 30 minutes to mixdown a 42 minute long file.  It is neglecting about 80% of both resources.  Why can't it utilize higher resources to do the job faster?  Is there a setting I can change?

Hello. I have such a problem. When I connect Apple airpods(bluetooth)  I have sample rate  to become 8000 and can not be changed - but the song is available in 44100. what should I do?

Audition will not burn 1 hr 14 minutes and 14 seconds to an 80 minute CD.  It claims that it is more than 78 minutes and therefore refuses to burn it to an 80-minute CD.  What's the problem?

Embarrassingly, I can't seem to find out how to "Lock" audio tracks in a Multitrack session to prevent accidental adjustments. Any advice or suggestions?

Hello. I was working on a multitrack project this morning, saved - went to lunch and repoened to finf the .sesx file won't open.  The error message is "Error. This file is not supported by libsndfile. Code: 149. Bad data offset"I cannot find anything online about this error - the original audio files are in tact but for some reason my earliest autosave backup is from about two hours previous before I did all the work. I just need a way to open that file PLEASE help. This is not what I wanted on a Friday afternoon 😞  

Hi,I'm trying to monitor my levels on the selected track armed for recording in a Multitrack project using the Level Meter Window, but the Level Meter Window does not work as it does in Waveform mode. Alt+i does nothing and when right clicking, the option "Meter Input Signal" is greyed out. The Windows Level Meter Window works fine when playing a track, but during recording (or before recording, when the track is armed for recording) the only level meter working is the small one of the armed track itself. How can I get the Level Meter Window to display the levels of the armed+selected track in a Multitrack session? And a related question:In a Multitrack session, BOTH the small track Level Meter when recording and later, the big Level Meter Window when playing, show the levels clipped at -3db: the display never goes above -3db and never gets into the red "peak" markers. But this is only an apparent clipping: when the same file is viewed in Waveform mode (or in a different app) it shows,

I had to get a new computer with a new boot drive. So my version of Audition 5? (CS6) is on a different drive letter now and won't work. When I try, it says the adobe application manager required to verify my license is damaged or missing. It tells me to go to adobe.com/go/applicationmanager but that link just takes me to https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/desktop-app.html so...I really need my version to work because I spent so much time creating my own filter. I think that's what you call it. When you create something that has several filters rolled into your own.....filter I guess it's called. What can I do to get my version working?

I recently bought adobe audition 1.5 from ebay and I have been trying to install it from a CD and after inputting the serial number, it also ask for a verification code during the installation. The package from ebay came only with the serial number but no verification code.How the heck do I install this software please?can anybody help. Thanks
