To be 508 compliant, do you still need closed captions if you have the text of the narrator on the actual slide? Thanks!  Lori

I have been trying to find a solution to a problem with capturing key shortcuts with the Click Box for interactive videos.A Click Box listening for Arrow Right while the video is playing works fine. (send to a bookmark) However with the overlay slide on top, it no longer captures the arrow key. So, I added a Click Box to listen for Arrow Right in the Overlay Slide. That works, but when the Overlay Slide is gone, the Click Box on the video no longer works. I am aware that one cannot have two Click Boxes listening for the same shortcut (key) on the same slide. It would seem that the Overlay Slide's Click Box "destroys" the listener for the Click Box on the video. This makes it seemingly impossible to have left and right arrow keys navigate between bookmarks that will work while both playing and paused with an Overlay Slide.I have tried to hide/show the click boxes so that only one Click Box is active at a time, but no success yet. I have tried to initiate the hide/show with the exit

In Captivate 2019, when I go to Media>Characters>Get Free eLearning Assets>Character Library and choose a category, the thumbnails are all broken links and the names, no images.  Any thoughts?  Thank you

This one is aimed a Lilybiri...you've sold me on Shared Actions, but, I ran into a problem.I setup a shared action to change the state of a couple of objects when learners select different buttons on the page.  But, I need a variable to update as well so I can keep track of what button has been selected.  Everything works fine EXCEPT the "Assign" option doesn't come up in the shared action so I can't change the variable value. Is there another command I should use in a shared action or do you have a workaround for this? jay

Hey there,I am trying to manipulate the size of some buttons. I am able to change the complete design stuff at runtime, but I can't find a way to change the area that recognizes the mouse events like mouse over or mouse down.The original smart shape has the dimension of the green rectangle and this is the area where the mouse events fire as well. But in the rest of the dark blue object nothing happens.Hopefully someone of you can help me to solve my problem! Thank you! To prevent questions like: "Why you don't do the whole stuff in Captivate?" - I've added a second screensot of my Captivate project. I'm trying do create a template that allows the not advanced captivate user to create an overview slide by filling some variables like - how many chapters (like in my example screensot 4 chapters) - and the rest will be created automatically at runtime.  

The interface is almost too simple with Adobe Presenter Video Express. I very easily created my first video tutorial using this fantastic tool but I was wondering if there was a way to add additional media to the video. Specifically, I would like to add my own title card (JPG) and my own music (MP3 or WAV). I'd love to hear someone else's thoughts and experiences with the application. My initial thoughts are very positive.

Once I make a Simulation and then a seperate (but equal) Training, what is the best way to present these to the learners.  I've seen sample that seem to have these choices within a presentation.   Is there a template?  Are there good examples of how to let learners navigate to choose which flavor they want? 

Hello everyone,we recently tested our webbased trainings made with Captivate 2019 on an iPad. There are several slides on which we display a text-object with links inside of it. But none of this links work on an iPad with chrome browsers. Other links like buttons work normal, but links inside textboxes doesn't. Seems to me like there is an layer over the text because you can't even mark parts of the text. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks in advanceDietmar

Hello,I am trying to set up the master slide for my quizzes - I'd like them to include a piece of media in addition to the multiple choice questions.  I am having major problems to resize the feedback boxes and also to organize the media and questions - when I import the media I can't seem to get them to sit on top of the questions (or vice versa) without then getting into the space below of feedback boxes-attached is a screenshot of the workspace in Captivate - 

When I try to import questions from Moodle which I have exported to GIFT format they include the html text styles as text...any fix for this?

Hi,I am running Captivate 2017 - soon to upgrade to 2019. when I import a video (MP4) file the size of the file increases by a large amount. The file I have on my desktop is 8MB but once I import either as  an event or  multi-slide synchronised video, it increases in size to 18 MB. is there a setting I am missing?

In Captivate 6, I want to drag an audio file onto a slide, then choose the second radio button option to "Distribute the audio file over several slides".  According to the note on this dialog box, I should be able to change the timing and distribute the audio file over the other slides, but the Audio Timing dialog box doesn't allow me to do this.    Instead, the timing of the slide I dropped the audio onto changes to cover the entire audio length, and if I try to move the slide timing to the left, the message displays:  "You have reached the Minimum Display time for Slide 1."This used to work in previous versions of Captivate.  What is the problem, and how can I fix it?  Thanks!

When I publish to SCORM 1.2 with latest Captivate 2019, and test it on my LMS, the clients LMS, success factors, and directly on SCORM Cloud, and test it in Internet Explorer 11, the bookmarking popup message is all messed up. See image below. I've had a couple people also test it on their computers, and they get the same thing. Any thoughts on how to solve this? And no, we can't just Chrome or Firefox, we support many clients and their IT departments sometimes will only allow them to use IE. We also cannot control what the end user uses for their default browser. We also can't just publish to SCORM 2004 or HTML5. It must be SCORM 1.2. I personally dont like the popup at all if you ask me (it says "Adobe Captivate" and it doesn't look good or match our look/feel/design), it would be nice if I could just eliminate it, but still have bookmarking. If it could just automatically go back to where they left off or something.     

I had an interactive HTLM chart created for an eLearning course I'm developing. I have placed the chart on a screen, but would like to get it to run on that screen instead of playing in a separate window. Is there a way to do this? Thank you!

I am trying to set a condition on a slide that after clicking all the buttons on it, the slide moves to a particular slide. Can I do this in captivate, please help.

Hi!I'm using Captivate 8 to build some E-Learnings. And I need that the user sees how many slides have been completed or seen (they are mostly videos) through a percentage. I've found this Advanced Action that makes this:https://elearning.adobe.com/2017/01/progress-indicator-as-a-percentage/ But the problem is that if the user goes directly to the last slide it automatically shows 100%, that mantains when he goes back.  Has anyone the same problem?Is there a variable to check how many slides have been seen by the user? Thank you in advance!

Hi,I'm using the latest version of Captivate 1151449. I am creating SCORM enabled zips and publishing them into Moodle. they are uploaded as SCORM packages. I am then linking the package directly to my user base.  I want multiple packages to be linked, for example, when they load package A, get to the end of it, then click continue, it starts package B and so on. I'm using the in-built 'start another project' with a button to allow this.The problem is, 'start another project' doesn't work, it just shows a dead link. I guess this is because, even though they are in the same area on Moodle, they aren't in the same folder. Would a solution to this be zipping them all up together?I've found an imperfect work-around, I use the 'open a URL or file' and paste the direct link to package B. This works but leaves the frame around the project window skewed when package B starts.Any solutions?

A coworker is building a project with some OAM on various slides.  I haven't worked with OAM really and he wants to know if there is a way to make the OAM play behind the other objects on the slide? 

I filmed a video demo following the instructions on the HELP page and when I try to edit it nothing seems to work like it is shown on the help page.  So far I've tried the Mask and the Split options.

Hi.We frequently need to update captivate files that have been resized from 1200x700 to 1200x750. When merging the screenshot (captured with Snagit) into the upsized file the screenshot jumps about 25 pixels and adds a white banner to the bottom of the slide.Our workaround has been to copy the background of the 1200x750 slide into a 1200x700 slide, then merge the screenshot in there. Then copy the background of the 1200x700 slide and paste into the background of the 1200x 750 slide.Is there an easier way to accomplish this? TIA.

So for the project my team is working on, the learners need to have access to two PDFs. We know they can be uploaded as Resources in Captivate Prime, but they would ideally be able to be accessed through the course itself. We have Captivate 2019 and have tried using the Web object, hyperlinks (to open as a new window), and buttons (again, in a new window) and are publishing the project in HTML5. Every time we've tested it in Captivate Prime, the PDFs appear just fine on computers but fail to load at all on devices. We've tried saving the course as both responsive and non-responsive, have tried manually placing the PDFs in the zip folders, and letting Captivate package the PDFs into the course itself. Nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated!
