Questions

HiI have been using Adobe Captivate 2019 (on Windows 10) for a few months now and have a question on how to do a specific piece of functionality.I have one button in the middle of the slide and mulitple smart shapes (with text) around this button which I have set to show once the button is clicked.  So far so good.  What I would like to happen is the user repeatedly clicks on the same button in the middle and each time they do so, the next smart shape text appears.I have tried to research the answer to this but it is quite a difficult one to explain.  I have tried playing around with the Advanced Actions but because it requires a different action each time the same button is clicked I'm at a bit of a loss! Any help/advice gratefully receieved

I have a number of PNGs set as buttons; 'hand cursor' is checked on under Properties > Actions (see screenshot) but when I preview the slide in my browser, the hand cursor doesn't appear. The buttons still work, but the user can't see that they're buttons. In addition, when I tried to set a rollover as an experiment, that doesn't seem to work either. Am I missing something? This is my first project using Captivate and so far I'm not impressed with the usability of it – it's almost like going to an MS Office program, it doesn't have the polish I associate with Adobe.

I have a slide which animates on, followed by an element growing and moving into place. In order to match this grow/move up with the following slide, I need to see the result of the animation while building the slide, not just while scrubbing through the timeline. Is this possible in Captivate? Am I better off moving the element into place on the second slide, and then animating on the first slide to match that?

 I am using a Quiz and have set in the Quiz preferences to allow the user 2 attempts, I have click the "Show Retake Button" but this button doent appear on the result slice... What an I doing wrong? 

When I try to open Captivate 2019, a window opens which says I have to change my designdata. Does someone know what to do?

I have an exam pulling from multiple question banks tied to specific topics.  Each question has a unique interactionID assigned based on the bank it comes from.  For example: 001air 002air001water002waterand so on In my exam, I'm allowing multiple attempts.  The issue I'm experiencing is the interaction ID stays the same for all the attempts.  I'd like to be able to distinguish one attempt from the next.  I've populated the "Interaction ID Prefix" in settings, but when I look at my report showing the quiz data,  I only see the assigned InteractionID from the question. Has anyone experienced the issue and found a solution?

I just went into the Learning Interactions after not having looked at them for about a couple of months.  There seem to be quite a few less.  I remember a Jeopardy game, a word search and maybe several others.  I have the latest version of CP.  Does anyone else recall these changes being made?  ThanksShawn

I have developed a SCORM training program in capitvate and uploaded it to our LMS system.  We having an issue with the results of the training session being pushed to the LMS system.   When contacting support we were told  "Our investigation reflects that the developed SCORM course is not pushing to our LMS the completion details.  We are receiving a “suspend". I am new to Capitvate, LMS and SCROM and was hoping some of the seasoned users could point me in the right direction in resloving this. Thank you.

Hey there, I'm working on a Captivate project and using an external javascript file to control my navigation buttons. Besides not having to republish my project over and over again, I like using an external javascript file to animate my navigatoin buttons a bit with greensock. I'm really rusty with javascript and people on the forums have helped me a lot in getting as far as I am - currently my external js file starts out with - var interfaceObj; var eventEmitterObj; window.addEventListener("moduleReadyEvent", function(evt){ interfaceObj = evt.Data; eventEmitterObj = interfaceObj.getEventEmitter(); initializeEventListeners(); });and then all my animations/functions are placed inside of the initializeEventListeners(); function.  The issue I'm running into is I've written out functions for my back button (with an id of 'backBtn'), but that button doesn't show up until the second slide of the project - so when the project tries to read my javascript on the first page i

Is anyone having problems inserting images with Captivate 2019? When I attempt to insert an image onto a slide/stage it instead creates a new slide just after the one I am working on. Then, on that slide that was automatically created I can see the image in the slide sorter on the left, I can see it when I preview the presentation, but I cannot see it on the stage, and it is not listed in the timeline as an image. The image is set as the background of the slide…but it is invisible. Anyone else seen anything like this?

Hey so im pretty new to captivate and am trying to create a custom slide with a multiple choice question on it. I have a page layout that i realy want to keep, but it made it before implementing the quiz. So now i just have a text box with the question and 3 buttons as the answers. I would now like to tell captivate which button is correct and what buttons are wrong and have that be reportet through scorm just like with a normal quizslide. Is that possible? All help is greatly appreciatet.

When publishing a responsive project in Captivate 2019, a folder is created with several different files and folders inside. Is it possible to publish this output to a web page or an intranet? Is it this folder that I somehow publish or do I need to perform any additional steps? 

I created a presentation with Presenter 11 and included a quiz. When I view the quiz in Internet Explorer and Chrome, everything is fine. However, when I view it in Firefox, the radio buttons are very distorted, as shown in the image below. Can anyone advise what is causing this?  

I received an error message when I attempt to open the file from an older version. However, it allows me to open and edit the other files associated with the file which were created at the same time.  It allowed me to open on my old PC where it was originally saved.  I tried on my new PC and I receive the error message.  Attached is my error message.  What would cause this?

I'm creating a MCQ in Captivate 7.  When a user submits an answer to a question, feedback will appear.  If the answer is incorrect we would like users to read the feedback and then have another try at answering the question.  When they finally answer it correctly they will be able to move forward to the next question. I can't figure out how to get Captivate to clear/reset the question slide so the user can have another go at it.   I'm not concerned with scoring at all and don't want users to have to answer all the questions in the quiz before going back to try again. I just want users to be able to retry each question until they get it right and then move on. Can this be done? Thanks.

Hello! I am trying to make an image invisible until a button is clicked elsewhere on the page. I figured out how to apply the "Show" action to make it appear upon button clicking, but I would like to add an entrance animation, like sliding in from the right upon button click - can someone help me with this? Thanks!

Playbar disappears when BACK button is selected in a Knowledge check. How do I remedy this. I am using Captivate 2019.

Please Help I'm trying to publish a HTML file but it defaults to a play button in order to initiate the files that I want to display.  It did not work like that in the past.  I'm on version 2019.  I'm a novice user and only use Captivate a few times a year if that.   I need help ASAP.

I am trying to evaluate Captivate for my company and I am hitting the same road block over and over. I have downloaded the installer (for Mac), I run the installer which gets to aroung 75% complete then it says:When this first happend I re-downloaded the installer, cleared out the partial install and started again. I have now tried this 4 times with no change in the result. The 'get help' option is no help at all, it says: "Download the latest version of the installer and try again." My system is as follows: MacOS Catalina version 10.15.1iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)Processor: 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7Memory: 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4Graphics: Radeon Pro 580 8 GB Can anyone help??

Hi, I have two adobe accounts, one is for Business and one for Personal, one has Captivate Subscription and the other has Lightroom/Photoshop. Everytime I use them I have the nightmare of logging in /out of accounts, is there an easier solution for this. I need the accounts to remain separate but be able to access from the same computer. Is there a simple solution I'm missing?? TIA Mark

Hi everyone, I would like to add some interactivity to the course I'm going to create. I hope Captivate will allow me to accomplish such things. Is it possible to upload a video to Captivate, add interactivity hotsposts and branching and then embed only the final video without any other slides into an LMS via HTML5 or SCORM?Are the following interactivity features supported?A user clicks an interactive button/image and an audio file previously uploaded by me is played. This is key for language course where the student needs to hear the correct pronunciation.A user clicks on a "microphone icon" which I would place on slides or inside videos in order to activate the PC's microphone and record their own voice. Then they should be able to play the recording.When I embed a course/quiz on other websites, is it possible to later edit them and have the changes automatically synced to the embedded instances or will I have to reembed the course/quiz from scratch?Regarding quizzesm is i

...Hello Captivaters !...I think I found a bug within the latest version of Captivate.It concerns D&D and occurs when we want to drag and drop an object only one time (and we don't want the object to be moved a second time).It works perfectly in older version but with the lastest one it seems that if we try a few times to drag the object we can actually drag it. And it's very problematic when we link an action with the dragging (increment a variable for example).I found this bug trying to do this. And I looked for a solution for long hours... But as I knew I did this successfully before, I try to replicate this without any success. And when I want to change the version of the old working project (2017 version) to the latest 2019, the bug was there again !...So I think it's due to the Captivate version... ?I hope the Captivate Team will make it work again soon !...😉...
